1 Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
[x]MKJV: Again the Word of the LORD came to me, saying, BBE: And the word of the Lord came to me, saying, KAV: {주}의 말씀이 다시 내게 임하니라. 2 Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations,
[x]MKJV: Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations. BBE: Son of man, make clear to Jerusalem her disgusting ways, KAV: 3 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD unto Jerusalem; Thy birth and thy nativity is of the land of Canaan; thy father was an Amorite, and thy mother an Hittite.
[x]MKJV: And say, So says the Lord Jehovah to Jerusalem, Your origin and your birth [is] of the land of Canaan. Your father was an Amorite, and your mother a Hittite. BBE: And say, This is what the Lord has said to Jerusalem: Your start and your birth was from the land of the Canaanite; an Amorite was your father and your mother was a Hittite. 4 And as for thy nativity, in the day thou wast born thy navel was not cut, neither wast thou washed in water to supple thee; thou wast not salted at all, nor swaddled at all.
[x]MKJV: And [as for] your birth, in the day you were born your navel was not cut, nor were you washed with water to cleanse [you]. And you were not salted, nor swaddled at all. BBE: As for your birth, on the day of your birth your cord was not cut and you were not washed in water to make you clean; you were not salted or folded in linen bands. 5 None eye pitied thee, to do any of these unto thee, to have compassion upon thee; but thou wast cast out in the open field, to the loathing of thy person, in the day that thou wast born.
[x]MKJV: No eye pitied you, to do any of these to you, to have compassion on you. But you were thrown out into the open field, because your life was despised in the day that you were born. BBE: No eye had pity on you to do any of these things to you or to be kind to you; but you were put out into the open country, because your life was hated at the time of your birth. 6 And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live; yea, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live.
[x]MKJV: And when I passed by you and saw you squirming in your blood, I said to you in your blood, Live! Yes, I said to you in your blood, Live! BBE: And when I went past you and saw you stretched out in your blood, I said to you, Though you are stretched out in your blood, have life; KAV: ¶ 내가 네 곁으로 지나가며 네가 네 피로 더럽게 된 것을 보고 네가 네 피 속에 누워 있을 때에 내가 네게 이르기를, 너는 살라, 하였으며 참으로 네가 네 피 속에 누워 있을 때에 내가 이르기를, 너는 살라, 하였느니라.7 I have caused thee to multiply as the bud of the field, and thou hast increased and waxen great, and thou art come to excellent ornaments: thy breasts are fashioned, and thine hair is grown, whereas thou wast naked and bare.
[x]MKJV: I have caused you to multiply like the bud of the field, and you are grown, and you are great; and you come [in] the finest ornaments. [Your] breasts are formed, and hair is grown, yet you [were] naked and bare. BBE: And be increased in number like the buds of the field; and you were increased and became great, and you came to the time of love: your breasts were formed and your hair was long; but you were uncovered and without clothing. 8 Now when I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, behold, thy time was the time of love; and I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness: yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord GOD, and thou becamest mine.
[x]MKJV: And I passed by you and looked on you, and, behold, your time [was] the time of love. And I spread my skirt over you and covered your nakedness. And I swore to you and entered into a covenant with you, says the Lord Jehovah. And you became Mine. BBE: Now when I went past you, looking at you, I saw that your time was the time of love; and I put my skirts over you, covering your unclothed body: and I gave you my oath and made an agreement with you, says the Lord, and you became mine. 9 Then washed I thee with water; yea, I thoroughly washed away thy blood from thee, and I anointed thee with oil.
[x]MKJV: And I washed you with water; I washed away your blood from you, and I anointed you with oil. BBE: Then I had you washed with water, washing away all your blood and rubbing you with oil. 10 I clothed thee also with broidered work, and shod thee with badgers skin, and I girded thee about with fine linen, and I covered thee with silk.
[x]MKJV: I also clothed you [with] embroidered work, and I shod you [with] dugong [sandals]. And I wrapped you in fine linen, and I covered you [with] silk. BBE: And I had you clothed with needlework, and put leather shoes on your feet, folding fair linen about you and covering you with silk. 11 I decked thee also with ornaments, and I put bracelets upon thy hands, and a chain on thy neck.
[x]MKJV: And I adorned you [with] ornaments, and I put bracelets on your hands and a chain on your neck. BBE: And I made you fair with ornaments and put jewels on your hands and a chain on your neck. 12 And I put a jewel on thy forehead, and earrings in thine ears, and a beautiful crown upon thine head.
[x]MKJV: And I put a ring on your nose, and earrings in your ears, and a beautiful crown on your head. BBE: And I put a ring in your nose and ear-rings in your ears and a beautiful crown on your head. 13 Thus wast thou decked with gold and silver; and thy raiment was of fine linen ㆍ, and silk, and broidered work; thou didst eat fine flour, and honey, and oil: and thou wast exceeding beautiful, and thou didst prosper into a kingdom.
[x]MKJV: And you were adorned with gold and silver; and your clothing [was of] fine linen and silk and embroidered work. You ate fine flour and honey and oil; and you were exceedingly beautiful. And you advanced to regal estate. BBE: So you were made beautiful with gold and silver; and your clothing was of the best linen and silk and needlework; your food was the best meal and honey and oil: and you were very beautiful. 14 And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord GOD.
[x]MKJV: And your name went out among the nations, because of your beauty; for it [was] perfect in My beauty, which I had put on you, says the Lord Jehovah. BBE: You were so beautiful that the story of you went out into all nations; you were completely beautiful because of my glory which I had put on you, says the Lord. 15 But thou didst trust in thine own beauty, and playedst the harlot because of thy renown, and pouredst out thy fornications on every one that passed by; his it was.
[x]MKJV: But you trusted in your beauty, and played the harlot because of your name, and poured out your fornications on all who passed by; it was his. BBE: But you put your faith in the fact that you were beautiful, acting like a loose woman because you were widely talked of, and offering your cheap love to everyone who went by, whoever it might be. 16 And of thy garments thou didst take, and deckedst thy high places with divers colours, and playedst the harlot thereupon: the like things shall not come, neither shall it be so.
[x]MKJV: And you took from your clothes and adorned your high places with different colors, and fornicated on them, [such as] had not come, nor shall be. BBE: And you took your robes and made high places for yourself ornamented with every colour, acting like a loose woman on them, without shame or fear. 17 Thou hast also taken thy fair jewels of my gold and of my silver, which I had given thee, and madest to thyself images of men, and didst commit whoredom with them,
[x]MKJV: And you have taken beautiful things of My gold and of My silver, which I had given you, and made images of males, and fornicated with them. BBE: And you took the fair jewels, my silver and gold which I had given to you, and made for yourself male images, acting like a loose woman with them; KAV: 18 And tookest thy broidered garments, and coveredst them: and thou hast set mine oil and mine incense before them.
[x]MKJV: And [you] took your embroidered dresses and covered them, and you have given to their face My oil and My incense. BBE: And you took your robes of needlework for their clothing, and put my oil and my perfume before them. 19 My meat also which I gave thee, fine flour, and oil, and honey, wherewith I fed thee, thou hast even set it before them for a sweet savour: and thus it was, saith the Lord GOD.
[x]MKJV: Also My food which I gave you, fine flour and oil and honey [with which] I fed you, you have given it to their face for a soothing aroma. And it happened, says the Lord Jehovah. BBE: And my bread which I gave you, the best meal and oil and honey which I gave you for your food, you put it before them for a sweet smell, says the Lord. [주] {하나님}이 말하노라.20 Moreover thou hast taken thy sons and thy daughters, whom thou hast borne unto me, and these hast thou sacrificed unto them to be devoured. Is this of thy whoredoms a small matter,
[x]MKJV: And you have taken your sons and your daughters, whom you have borne to Me, and you gave these to them for food. [Are] your fornications small? BBE: And you took your sons and your daughters whom I had by you, offering even these to them to be their food. Was your loose behaviour so small a thing, KAV: 21 That thou hast slain my children, and delivered them to cause them to pass through the fire for them?
[x]MKJV: You have slaughtered My sons and gave them to cause these to pass through [the fire] for them. BBE: That you put my children to death and gave them up to go through the fire to them? KAV: 네가 내 자녀들을 죽이고 넘겨주어 그들로 하여금 그것들을 위해 불 가운데로 지나가게 하였느냐?22 And in all thine abominations and thy whoredoms thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, when thou wast naked and bare, and wast polluted in thy blood.
[x]MKJV: And in all your hateful deeds and your fornications you have not remembered the days of your youth, when you were naked and bare, [and] squirming in your blood. BBE: And in all your disgusting and false behaviour you had no memory of your early days, when you were uncovered and without clothing, stretched out in your blood. 23 And it came to pass after all thy wickedness, ㆍ (woe, woe unto thee! saith the Lord GOD;)
[x]MKJV: Woe, woe to you says the Lord Jehovah! [For] it happened after all your evil, BBE: And it came about, after all your evil-doing, says the Lord, KAV: ([주] {하나님}이 말하노라. 24 That thou hast also built unto thee an eminent place, and hast made thee an high place in every street.
[x]MKJV: [that] you have also built yourself a mound, and you have made yourself a high place in every street. BBE: That you made for yourself an arched room in every open place. 25 Thou hast built thy high place at every head of the way, and hast made thy beauty to be abhorred, and hast opened thy feet to every one that passed by, and multiplied thy whoredoms.
[x]MKJV: You have built your high place at the head of every way, and have made your beauty to be despised, and have opened your feet to everyone who passed by, and have multiplied your fornications. BBE: You put up your high places at the top of every street, and made the grace of your form a disgusting thing, opening your feet to everyone who went by, increasing your loose ways. 26 Thou hast also committed fornication with the Egyptians thy neighbours, great of flesh; and hast increased thy whoredoms, to provoke me to anger.
[x]MKJV: You have also whored with the Egyptians, your neighbors great of flesh, and have multiplied your fornications to provoke Me to anger. BBE: And you went with the Egyptians, your neighbours, great of flesh; increasing your loose ways, moving me to wrath. 27 Behold, therefore I have stretched out my hand over thee, and have diminished thine ordinary food, and delivered thee unto the will of them that hate thee, the daughters of the Philistines, which are ashamed of thy lewd way.
[x]MKJV: And, behold, therefore I have stretched out My hand over you, and drew back your portion. And I gave you to the will of those who hate you, the daughters of the Philistines, who are ashamed of your wicked way. BBE: Now, then, my hand is stretched out against you, cutting down your fixed amount, and I have given you up to the desire of your haters, the daughters of the Philistines who are shamed by your loose ways. 28 Thou hast played the whore also with the Assyrians ㆍ, because thou wast unsatiable; yea, thou hast played the harlot with them, and yet couldest not be satisfied.
[x]MKJV: You have whored with the Assyrians, without your being satisfied; yea, you whored and yet you were not satisfied. BBE: And you went with the Assyrians, because of your desire which was without measure; you were acting like a loose woman with them, and still you had not enough. 29 Thou hast moreover multiplied thy fornication in the land of Canaan unto Chaldea; and yet thou wast not satisfied herewith.
[x]MKJV: And your whoredom is idolatry in the land of Canaan, [to the] Chaldean, and yet you were not satisfied with this. BBE: And you went on in your loose ways, even as far as the land of Chaldaea, and still you had not enough. KAV: 또 가나안 땅에서 네 음행을 크게 늘려 갈대아에까지 이르게 하였으나 그것으로도 만족하지 못하였느니라.30 How weak is thine heart, saith the Lord GOD, seeing thou doest all these things, the work of an imperious whorish woman;
[x]MKJV: How weak is your heart, says the Lord Jehovah, since you do all these, the work of a woman, an overbearing harlot; BBE: How feeble is your heart, says the Lord, seeing that you do all these things, the work of a loose and overruling woman; KAV: [주] {하나님}이 말하노라. 네가 이 모든 일 곧 오만하고 음란한 여자의 일을 행하는 것을 보건대 네 마음이 어찌 그리 약한고!31 In that thou buildest thine eminent place in the head of every way, and makest thine high place in every street; and hast not been as an harlot, in that thou scornest hire;
[x]MKJV: in that you build your mound at the head of every way, and make your high place in every street. Yet you have not been as a harlot, scorning wages. BBE: For you have made your arched room at the top of every street, and your high place in every open place; though you were not like a loose woman in getting together your payment. 32 But as a wife that committeth adultery, which taketh strangers instead of her husband!
[x]MKJV: [Like] the adulterous wife, instead of her husband, she takes strangers. BBE: The untrue wife who takes strange lovers in place of her husband! KAV: 오히려 너는 자기 남편대신 낯선 자들을 취하여 간음을 행하는 아내와 같도다!33 They give gifts to all whores: but thou givest thy gifts to all thy lovers, and hirest them, that they may come unto thee on every side for thy whoredom.
[x]MKJV: They give a gift to all harlots, but you give your gifts to all your lovers, and bribe them to come to you from all around, for your fornication. BBE: They give payment to all loose women: but you give rewards to your lovers, offering them payment so that they may come to you on every side for your cheap love. 34 And the contrary is in thee from other women in thy whoredoms, whereas none followeth thee to commit whoredoms: and in that thou givest a reward, and no reward is given unto thee, therefore thou art contrary.
[x]MKJV: And in you was the opposite from [those] women in your fornications, since no one whores after you, and in your giving wages, and hire is not given to you. [In] this you are opposite. BBE: And in your loose behaviour you are different from other women, for no one goes after you to make love to you: and because you give payment and no payment is given to you, in this you are different from them. 35 Wherefore, O harlot, hear the word of the LORD:
[x]MKJV: Therefore, O harlot, hear the Word of the LORD. BBE: For this cause, O loose woman, give ear to the voice of the Lord: KAV: ¶ 그러므로, 오 창녀야, {주}의 말을 들을지어다.36 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thy filthiness was poured out, and thy nakedness discovered through thy whoredoms with thy lovers, and with all the idols of thy abominations, and by the blood of thy children, which thou didst give unto them;
[x]MKJV: So says the Lord Jehovah: Because your lewdness was poured out and your nakedness was bared in your fornications with your lovers, and with all the idols of your abominations, and by the blood of your sons whom you gave to them; BBE: This is what the Lord has said: Because your unclean behaviour was let loose and your body uncovered in your loose ways with your lovers and with your disgusting images, and for the blood of your children which you gave to them; KAV: 37 Behold, therefore I will gather all thy lovers, with whom thou hast taken pleasure, and all them that thou hast loved, with all them that thou hast hated; I will even gather them round about against thee, and will discover thy nakedness unto them, that they may see all thy nakedness.
[x]MKJV: behold, therefore I will gather all your lovers, with whom you have been pleased, even all [whom] you loved, with all whom you have hated; I will even gather them against you from all around, and will uncover your nakedness to them, and they will see all your nakedness. BBE: For this cause I will get together all your lovers with whom you have taken your pleasure, and all those to whom you have given your love, with all those who were hated by you; I will even make them come together against you on every side, and I will have you uncovered before them so that they may see your shame. 38 And I will judge thee, as women that break wedlock and shed blood are judged; and I will give thee blood in fury and jealousy.
[x]MKJV: And I will judge you with judgments of adulteresses, and with shedders of blood. And I will give you blood and fury and jealousy. BBE: And you will be judged by me as women are judged who have been untrue to their husbands and have taken life; and I will let loose against you passion and bitter feeling. 39 And I will also give thee into their hand, and they shall throw down thine eminent place, and shall break down thy high places: they shall strip thee also of thy clothes, and shall take thy fair jewels, and leave thee naked and bare.
[x]MKJV: And I will also give you into their hand, and they will tear down your mound, and will demolish your high places. They shall also strip you of your clothes, and shall take your beautiful things, and leave you naked and bare. BBE: I will give you into their hands, and your arched room will be overturned and your high places broken down; they will take your clothing off you and take away your fair jewels: and when they have done, you will be uncovered and shamed. 40 They shall also bring up a company against thee, and they shall stone thee with stones, and thrust thee through with their swords.
[x]MKJV: They shall also raise a company against you, and they shall stone you with stones, and cut you with their swords. BBE: And they will get together a meeting against you, stoning you with stones and wounding you with their swords. 41 And they shall burn thine houses with fire, and execute judgments upon thee in the sight of many women: and I will cause thee to cease from playing the harlot, and thou also shalt give no hire any more.
[x]MKJV: And they shall burn your houses with fire, and execute judgments on you in the sight of many women. And I will make you stop whoring; and also, you shall not give hire again. BBE: And they will have you burned with fire, sending punishments on you before the eyes of great numbers of women; and I will put an end to your loose ways, and you will no longer give payment. 42 So will I make my fury toward thee to rest, and my jealousy shall depart from thee, and I will be quiet, and will be no more angry.
[x]MKJV: And I will make My fury to rest against you, and My jealousy shall depart from you, and I will be quiet and will be angry no more. BBE: And the heat of my wrath against you will have an end, and my bitter feeling will be turned away from you, and I will be quiet and will be angry no longer. 43 Because thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, but hast fretted me in all these things; behold, therefore I also will recompense thy way upon thine head, saith the Lord GOD: and thou shalt not commit this lewdness above all thine abominations.
[x]MKJV: Because you have not remembered the days of your youth, but have troubled Me in all these [things]; so, behold, I will also repay your way on [your] head, says the Lord Jehovah. And you shall not commit this wickedness above all your abominations. BBE: Because you have not kept in mind the days when you were young, but have been troubling me with all these things; for this reason I will make the punishment of your ways come on your head, says the Lord, because you have done this evil thing in addition to all your disgusting acts. 44 Behold, every one that useth proverbs shall use this proverb against thee, saying, As is the mother, so is her daughter.
[x]MKJV: Behold, all who use proverbs shall use [this] proverb against you, saying, As the mother, [so is] her daughter. BBE: See, in every common saying about you it will be said, As the mother is, so is her daughter. 45 Thou art thy mother's daughter, that loatheth her husband and her children; and thou art the sister of thy sisters, which loathed their husbands and their children: your mother was an Hittite, and your father an Amorite.
[x]MKJV: You [are] your mother's daughter, who despises her husband and her sons. And you [are] the sister of your sisters, who despise their husbands and their sons. Your mother [was] a Hittite, and your father an Amorite. BBE: You are the daughter of your mother whose soul is turned in disgust from her husband and her children; and you are the sister of your sisters who were turned in disgust from their husbands and their children: your mother was a Hittite and your father an Amorite. 46 And thine elder sister is Samaria, she and her daughters that dwell at thy left hand: and thy younger sister, that dwelleth at thy right hand, is Sodom and her daughters.
[x]MKJV: And your older sister [is] Samaria, she and her daughters who dwell at your left hand. And your younger sister, who dwells at your right hand, [is] Sodom and her daughters. BBE: Your older sister is Samaria, living at your left hand, she and her daughters: and your younger sister, living at your right hand, is Sodom and her daughters. 47 Yet hast thou not walked after their ways, nor done after their abominations: but, as if that were a very little ㆍ thing, thou wast corrupted more than they in all thy ways.
[x]MKJV: Yet you have not walked according to their ways, nor done according to their hateful deeds; but, as [if it were] a very little [thing], you were corrupted more than they were in all your ways. BBE: Still you have not gone in their ways or done the disgusting things which they have done; but, as if that was only a little thing, you have gone deeper in evil than they in all your ways. 48 As I live, saith the Lord GOD, Sodom thy sister hath not done, she nor her daughters, as thou hast done, thou and thy daughters.
[x]MKJV: [As] I live, says the Lord Jehovah, Sodom your sister, she nor her daughters, has not done as you have done, you and your daughters. BBE: By my life, says the Lord, Sodom your sister never did, she or her daughters, what you and your daughters have done. 49 Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.
[x]MKJV: Behold, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom; pride. Fullness of bread and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters. Nor did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. BBE: Truly, this was the sin of your sister Sodom: pride, a full measure of food, and the comforts of wealth in peace, were seen in her and her daughters, and she gave no help to the poor or to those in need. 50 And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.
[x]MKJV: And they were haughty and did abominable things before Me, so I turned away as I saw [fit]. BBE: They were full of pride and did what was disgusting to me: and so I took them away as you have seen. 51 Neither hath Samaria committed half of thy sins; but thou hast multiplied thine abominations more than they, and hast justified thy sisters in all thine abominations which thou hast done.
[x]MKJV: Nor has Samaria sinned [as much] as half your sins; but you have multiplied your abominations more than they, and have justified your sisters in all your abominations which you have done. BBE: And Samaria has not done half your sins; but you have made the number of your disgusting acts greater than theirs, making your sisters seem more upright than you by all the disgusting things which you have done. 52 Thou also, which hast judged thy sisters, bear thine own shame for thy sins that thou hast committed more abominable than they: they are more righteous than thou: yea, be thou confounded also, and bear thy shame, in that thou hast justified thy sisters.
[x]MKJV: You also, who have judged your sisters, bear your own shame for your sins which you have committed more abominable than they. They are more righteous than you! Yes, blush and bear your shame, since you have justified your sisters. BBE: And you yourself will be put to shame, in that you have given the decision for your sisters; through your sins, which are more disgusting than theirs, they are more upright than you: truly, you will be shamed and made low, for you have made your sisters seem upright. 53 When I shall bring again their captivity ㆍ, the captivity ㆍ of Sodom and her daughters, and the captivity ㆍ of Samaria and her daughters, then will I bring again the captivity ㆍ of thy captives in the midst of them:
[x]MKJV: When I shall return their captivity, the captivity of Sodom and her daughters, and the captivity of Samaria and her daughters, then [also] the captivity of your captivity in their midst; BBE: And I will let their fate be changed, the fate of Sodom and her daughters, and the fate of Samaria and her daughters, and your fate with theirs. 54 That thou mayest bear thine own shame, and mayest be confounded in all that thou hast done, in that thou art a comfort unto them.
[x]MKJV: that you may bear your shame, and blush in all that you have done, since you are a comfort to them. BBE: So that you will be shamed and made low because of all you have done, when I have mercy on you. 55 When thy sisters, Sodom and her daughters, shall return to their former estate, and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former estate, then thou and thy daughters shall return to your former estate.
[x]MKJV: When your sisters, Sodom and her daughters, shall return to their former state, and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former state, then you and your daughters shall return to your former state. BBE: And your sisters, Sodom and her daughters, will go back to their first condition, and Samaria and her daughters will go back to their first condition, and you and your daughters will go back to your first condition. 56 For thy sister Sodom was not mentioned by thy mouth in the day of thy pride,
[x]MKJV: For your sister Sodom was not mentioned by your mouth in the day of your pride, BBE: Was not your sister Sodom an oath in your mouth in the day of your pride, KAV: 57 Before thy wickedness was discovered, as at the time of thy reproach of the daughters of Syria, and all that are round about her, the daughters of the Philistines, which despise thee round about.
[x]MKJV: before your wickedness was uncovered, as at the time of [your] reproach of the daughters of Syria, and of all her neighbors, the daughters of the Philistines who hated you from all around. BBE: Before your shame was uncovered? Now you have become like her a word of shame to the daughters of Edom and all who are round about you, the daughters of the Philistines who put shame on you round about. 58 Thou hast borne thy lewdness and thine abominations, saith the LORD.
[x]MKJV: You are bearing your wickedness and your abominations, says the LORD. BBE: The reward of your evil designs and your disgusting ways has come on you, says the Lord. 59 For thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even deal with thee as thou hast done, which hast despised the oath in breaking the covenant.
[x]MKJV: For so says the Lord Jehovah: I will even deal with you as you have done, who have despised the oath in breaking the covenant. BBE: For this is what the Lord has said: I will do to you as you have done, you who, putting the oath on one side, have let the agreement be broken. 60 Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy youth, and I will establish unto thee an everlasting covenant.
[x]MKJV: But I will remember My covenant with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish to you an everlasting covenant. BBE: But still I will keep in mind the agreement made with you in the days when you were young, and I will make with you an eternal agreement. 61 Then thou shalt remember thy ways, and be ashamed, when thou shalt receive thy sisters, thine elder and thy younger: and I will give them unto thee for daughters, but not by thy covenant.
[x]MKJV: And you shall remember your ways and be ashamed, when you shall receive your sisters, your older and your younger. And I will give them to you for daughters, but not by [your] covenant. BBE: Then at the memory of your ways you will be overcome with shame, when I take your sisters, the older and the younger, and give them to you for daughters, but not by your agreement. 62 And I will establish my covenant with thee; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD:
[x]MKJV: And I will establish My covenant with you; and you shall know that I [am] the LORD; BBE: And I will make my agreement with you; and you will be certain that I am the Lord: KAV: 63 That thou mayest remember, and be confounded, and never open thy mouth any more because of thy shame, when I am pacified toward thee for all that thou hast done, saith the Lord GOD.
[x]MKJV: so that you may remember and be ashamed; and it will not be [possible] to open [your] mouth any more because of your shame; in that I am propitiated for all that you have done, says the Lord Jehovah. BBE: So that, at the memory of these things, you may be at a loss, never opening your mouth because of your shame; when you have my forgiveness for all you have done, says the Lord. |
