1 But it displeased Jonah exceedingly ㆍ, and he was very angry.

This is why I took care to go in flight to Tarshish: for I was certain that you were a loving God, full of pity, slow to be angry and great in mercy, and ready to be turned from your purpose of evil.
KAV: {주}께 기도하며 이르되, 오 {주}여, 간구하오니 내가 고국에 있을 때에 내 말이 이러하지 아니하였나이까? 그러므로 내가 먼저 다시스로 도망하였사오니 이는 주께서 은혜로우시며 긍휼히 여기시고 분노하기를 더디 하시며 큰 친절을 베푸사 재앙에서 뜻을 돌이키시는 [하나님]이신 줄을 내가 알았기 때문이니이다.
