| 2 When they had sent unto the house of God Sherezer and Regemmelech, and their men, to pray before the LORD, | 2 Now they of Beth-el had sent Sharezer and Regem-melech to make a request for grace from the Lord, | 2 때에 벧엘 사람이 사레셀과 레겜멜렉과 그 종자를 보내어 여호와께 은혜를 구하고 |
| 3 And to speak unto the priests which were in the house of the LORD of hosts, and to the prophets, saying, Should I weep in the fifth month, separating myself, as I have done these so many years? | 3 And to say to the priests of the house of the Lord of armies and to the prophets, Am I to go on weeping in the fifth month, separating myself as I have done in past years? | 3 만군의 여호와의 전에 있는 제사장들과 선지자들에게 물어 가로되 우리가 여러 해 동안에 행한대로 오월간에 울며 재계하리이까 하매 |
| 4 Then came the word of the LORD of hosts unto me, saying, | 4 Then the word of the Lord of armies came to me, saying | 4 만군의 여호와의 말씀이 내게 임하여 이르시되 |
| 5 Speak unto all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying, When ye fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh month, even those seventy years, did ye at all fast unto me, even to me? | 5 Say to all the people of the land and to the priests, When you went without food and gave yourselves to grief in the fifth and the seventh months for these seventy years, did you ever do it because of me? | 5 온 땅의 백성과 제사장들에게 이르라 너희가 칠십년 동안 오월과 칠월에 금식하고 애통하였거니와 그 금식이 나를 위하여, 나를 위하여 한 것이냐 |
| 6 And when ye did eat, and when ye did drink, did not ye eat for yourselves, and drink for yourselves? | 6 And when you are feasting and drinking, are you not doing it only for yourselves? | 6 너희의 먹으며 마심이 전혀 자기를 위하여 먹으며 자기를 위하여 마심이 아니냐 |
| 7 Should ye not hear the words which the LORD hath cried by the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and in prosperity, and the cities thereof round about her, when men inhabited the south and the plain? | 7 Are not these the words which the Lord said to you by the earlier prophets, when Jerusalem was full of people and wealth, and the towns round about her and the South and the Lowland were peopled? | 7 여호와가 이전 선지자로 외친 말을 너희가 청종할 것이 아니냐 그 때에는 예루살렘과 사면 읍에 백성이 거하여 형통하였고 남방과 평원에도 사람이 거하였었느니라 |
| 8 And the word of the LORD came unto | 8 And the word of the Lord came to Zechariah, saying, | 8 여호와의 말씀이 스가랴에게 임하여 이르시되 |
| 9 Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and show mercy and compassions every man to his brother: | 9 This is what the Lord of armies has said: Let your judging be upright and done in good faith, let every man have mercy and pity for his brother: | 9 만군의 여호와가 이미 말하여 이르기를 너희는 진실한 재판을 행하며 피차에 인애와 긍휼을 베풀며 |
| 10 And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart. | 10 Do not be hard on the widow, or the child without a father, on the man from a strange country, or on the poor; let there be no evil thought in your heart against your brother. | 10 과부와 고아와 나그네와 궁핍한 자를 압제하지 말며 남을 해하려하여 심중에 도모하지 말라 하였으나 |
| 11 But they refused to hearken, and pulled away ㆍ the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear. | 11 But they would not give attention, turning their backs and stopping their ears from hearing; | 11 그들이 청종하기를 싫어하여 등으로 향하며 듣지 아니하려고 귀를 막으며 |
| 12 Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which the LORD of hosts hath sent in his spirit by the former prophets: therefore came a great wrath from the LORD of hosts. | 12 And they made their hearts like the hardest stone, so that they might not give ear to the law and the words which the Lord of armies had said by the earlier prophets: and there came great wrath from the Lord of armies. | 12 그 마음을 금강석 같게 하여 율법과 만군의 여호와가 신으로 이전 선지자를 빙자하여 전한 말을 듣지 아니하므로 큰 노가 나 만군의 여호와께로서 나왔도다 |
| 13 Therefore it is come to pass, that as he cried, and they would not hear; so they cried, and I would not hear, saith the LORD of hosts: | 13 And it came about that as they would not give ear to his voice, so I would not give ear to their voice, says the Lord of armies: | 13 만군의 여호와가 말하였었노라 내가 불러도 그들이 듣지 아니하였은즉 그들이 불러도 내가 듣지 아니하고 |
| 14 But I scattered them with a whirlwind among all the nations whom they knew not. Thus the land was desolate after them, that no man passed through nor returned: for they laid the pleasant land desolate. | 14 But with a storm-wind I sent them in flight among all the nations of whom they had no knowledge. So the land was waste after them, so that no man went through or came back: for they had made waste the desired land. | 14 회리바람으로 그들을 그 알지 못하던 모든 열국에 헤치리라 한 후로 이 땅이 황무하여 왕래하는 사람이 없었나니 이는 그들이 아름다운 땅으로 황무하게 하였음이니라 하시니라 |
