Believers must die to sin, and live to God. (1,2) This is urged by their Christian baptism and union with Christ. (3-10) They are made alive to God. (11-15) And are freed from the dominion of sin. (16-20) The end of sin is death, and of holiness everlasting life. (21-23)
KJV BBE KRV
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?1 What may we say, then? are we to go on in sin so that there may be more grace?1 그런즉 우리가 무슨 말 하리요 은혜를 더하게 하려고 죄에 거하겠느뇨
God forbid . How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?2 In no way. How may we, who are dead to sin, be living in it any longer?2 그럴 수 없느니라 죄에 대하여 죽은 우리가 어찌 그 가운데 더 살리요
Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?3 Or are you without the knowledge that all we who had baptism into Christ Jesus, had baptism into his death?3 무릇 그리스도 예수와 합하여 세례를 받은 우리는 그의 죽으심과 합하여 세례 받은 줄을 알지 못하느뇨
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.4 We have been placed with him among the dead through baptism into death: so that as Christ came again from the dead by the glory of the Father, we, in the same way, might be living in new life.4 그러므로 우리가 그의 죽으심과 합하여 세례를 받음으로 그와 함께 장사되었나니 이는 아버지의 영광으로 말미암아 그리스도를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리심과 같이 우리로 또한 새 생명 가운데서 행하게 하려 함이니라
For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:5 For, if we have been made like him in his death, we will, in the same way, be like him in his coming to life again;5 만일 우리가 그의 죽으심을 본받아 연합한 자가 되었으면 또한 그의 부활을 본받아 연합한 자가 되리라
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.6 Being conscious that our old man was put to death on the cross with him, so that the body of sin might be put away, and we might no longer be servants to sin.6 우리가 알거니와 우리 옛 사람이 예수와 함께 십자가에 못 박힌 것은 죄의 몸이 멸하여 다시는 우리가 죄에게 종노릇 하지 아니하려 함이니
For he that is dead is freed from sin.7 Because he who is dead is free from sin.7 이는 죽은 자가 죄에서 벗어나 의롭다 하심을 얻었음이니라
Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:8 But if we are dead with Christ, we have faith that we will be living with him;8 만일 우리가 그리스도와 함께 죽었으면 또한 그와 함께 살 줄을 믿노니
Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.9 Having knowledge that because Christ has come back from the dead, he will never again go down to the dead; death has no more power over him.9 이는 그리스도께서 죽은 자 가운데서 사셨으매 다시 죽지 아니하시고 사망이 다시 그를 주장하지 못할 줄을 앎이로라
For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.10 For his death was a death to sin, but his life now is a life which he is living to God.10 그의 죽으심은 죄에 대하여 단번에 죽으심이요 그의 살으심은 하나님께 대하여 살으심이니
Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.11 Even so see yourselves as dead to sin, but living to God in Christ Jesus.11 이와 같이 너희도 너희 자신을 죄에 대하여는 죽은 자요 그리스도 예수 안에서 하나님을 대하여는 산 자로 여길찌어다
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.12 For this cause do not let sin be ruling in your body which is under the power of death, so that you give way to its desires;12 그러므로 너희는 죄로 너희 죽을 몸에 왕노릇하지 못하게 하여 몸의 사욕을 순종치 말고
Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.13 And do not give your bodies to sin as the instruments of wrongdoing, but give yourselves to God, as those who are living from the dead, and your bodies as instruments of righteousness to God.13 또한 너희 지체를 불의의 병기로 죄에게 드리지 말고 오직 너희 자신을 죽은 자 가운데서 다시 산 자 같이 하나님께 드리며 너희 지체를 의의 병기로 하나님께 드리라
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.14 For sin may not have rule over you: because you are not under law, but under grace.14 죄가 너희를 주관치 못하리니 이는 너희가 법 아래 있지 아니하고 은혜 아래 있음이니라
What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.15 What then? are we to go on in sin because we are not under law but under grace? Let it not be so.15 그런즉 어찌하리요 우리가 법 아래 있지 아니하고 은혜 아래 있으니 죄를 지으리요 그럴 수 없느니라
Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?16 Are you not conscious that you are the servants of him to whom you give yourselves to do his desire? if to sin, the end being death, or if to do the desire of God, the end being righteousness.16 너희 자신을 종으로 드려 누구에게 순종하든지 그 순종함을 받는 자의 종이 되는 줄을 너희가 알지 못하느냐 혹은 죄의 종으로 사망에 이르고 혹은 순종의 종으로 의에 이르느니라
But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.17 But praise be to God that though you were the servants of sin, you have now given yourselves freely to that form of teaching under which you were placed;17 하나님께 감사하리로다 너희가 본래 죄의 종이더니 너희에게 전하여 준바 교훈의 본을 마음으로 순종하여
Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.18 And being made free from sin you have been made the servants of righteousness.18 죄에게서 해방되어 의에게 종이 되었느니라
I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.19 I am using words in the way of men, because your flesh is feeble: as you gave your bodies as servants to what is unclean, and to evil to do evil, so now give them as servants to righteousness to do what is holy.19 너희 육신이 연약하므로 내가 사람의 예대로 말하노니 전에 너희가 너희 지체를 부정과 불법에 드려 불법에 이른것 같이 이제는 너희 지체를 의에게 종으로 드려 거룩함에 이르라
For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.20 When you were servants of sin you were free from righteousness.20 너희가 죄의 종이 되었을 때에는 의에 대하여 자유하였느니라
What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.21 What fruit had you at that time in the things which are now a shame to you? for the end of such things is death.21 너희가 그 때에 무슨 열매를 얻었느뇨 이제는 너희가 그 일을 부끄러워하나니 이는 그 마지막이 사망임이니라
But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.22 But now, being free from sin, and having been made servants to God, you have your fruit in that which is holy, and the end is eternal life.22 그러나 이제는 너희가 죄에게서 해방되고 하나님께 종이 되어 거룩함에 이르는 열매를 얻었으니 이 마지막은 영생이라
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.23 For the reward of sin is death; but what God freely gives is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord.23 죄의 삯은 사망이요 하나님의 은사는 그리스도 예수 우리 주 안에 있는 영생이니라
