1To the chief Musician for the sons of Korah, Maschil..] We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, [what] work thou didst in their days, in the times of old.

1 하나님이여 주께서 우리 열조의 날 곧 옛날에 행하신 일을 저희가 우리에게 이르매 우리 귀로 들었나이다
2How thou didst drive out the heathen with thy hand, and plantedst them; how thou didst afflict the people, and cast them out.
2 Uprooting the nations with your hand, and planting our fathers in their place; cutting down the nations, but increasing the growth of your people.
2 주께서 주의 손으로 열방을 쫓으시고 열조를 심으시며 주께서 민족들은 괴롭게 하시고 열조는 번성케 하셨나이다
3 For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own armsave them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.
3 For they did not make the land theirs by their swords, and it was not their arms which kept them safe; but your right hand, and your arm, and the light of your face, because you had pleasure in them.
3 저희가 자기 칼로 땅을 얻어 차지함이 아니요 저희 팔이 저희를 구원함도 아니라 오직 주의 오른 손과 팔과 얼굴의 빛으로 하셨으니 주께서 저희를 기뻐하신 연고니이다
4 Thou art my King, O God: commanddeliverances for Jacob.
4 You are my King and my God; ordering salvation for Jacob.
4 하나님이여 주는 나의 왕이시니 야곱에게 구원을 베푸소서
5 Through thee will we push down our enemies: through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us.
5 Through you will we overcome our haters; by your name will they be crushed under our feet who are violent against us.
5 우리가 주를 의지하여 우리 대적을 누르고 우리를 치려 일어나는 자를 주의 이름으로 밟으리이다
6 For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my swordsave me.
6 I will not put faith in my bow, my sword will not be my salvation.
6 나는 내 활을 의지하지 아니할 것이라 내 칼도 나를 구원치 못하리이다
7 But thou hast saved us from our enemies, and hast put them to shame that hated us.
7 But it is you who have been our saviour from those who were against us, and have put to shame those who had hate for us.
7 오직 주께서 우리를 우리 대적에게서 구원하시고 우리를 미워하는 자로 수치를 당케 하셨나이다
8 In God we boast all the day long, and praise thy name for ever. Selah.
8 Our pride is in God at all times, to his name we give praise for ever. (Selah.)
8 우리가 종일 하나님으로 자랑하였나이다 우리가 하나님의 이름을 영영히 감사하리이다(셀라)
9But thou hast cast off, and put us to shame; and goest not forth with our armies.
9 But now you have sent us away from you, and put us to shame; you do not go out with our armies.
9 그러나 이제는 주께서 우리를 버려 욕을 당케 하시고 우리 군대와 함께 나아가지 아니하시나이다
10 Thou makest us to turnback from the enemy: and they which hate us spoil for themselves.
10 Because of this we are turned back by the attacker: those who have hate for us take our goods for themselves.
10 주께서 우리를 대적에게서 돌아서게 하시니 우리를 미워하는 자가 자기를 위하여 탈취하였나이다
11 Thou hast given us like sheepappointed for meat; and hast scattered us among the heathen.
11 You have made us like sheep which are taken for meat; we are put to flight among the nations.
11 주께서 우리로 먹힐 양 같게 하시고 열방 중에 흩으셨나이다
12 Thou sellest thy people for nought, and dost not increasethy wealth by their price.
12 You let your people go for nothing; your wealth is not increased by their price.
12 주께서 주의 백성을 무료로 파심이여 저희 값으로 이익을 얻지 못하셨나이다
13 Thou makest us a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and a derision to them that are round about us.
13 You have made us to be looked down on by our neighbours, we are laughed at and shamed by those who are round about us.
13 주께서 우리로 이웃에게 욕을 당케 하시니 둘러 있는 자가 조소하고 조롱하나이다
14 Thou makest us a byword among the heathen, a shaking of the head among the people.
14 Our name is a word of shame among the nations, a sign for the shaking of heads among the peoples.
14 주께서 우리로 열방 중에 말거리가 되게 하시며 민족 중에서 머리 흔듦을 당케 하셨나이다
15 My confusioniscontinually before me, and the shame of my face hath covered me,
15 My downfall is ever before me, and I am covered with the shame of my face;
15 나의 능욕이 종일 내 앞에 있으며 수치가 내 얼굴을 덮었으니
16 For the voice of him that reproacheth and blasphemeth; by reason of the enemy and avenger.
16 Because of the voice of him who says sharp and bitter words; because of the hater and him who is the instrument of punishment.
16 나를 비방하고 후욕하는 소리를 인함이요 나의 원수와 보수자의 연고니이다
17 All this is come upon us; yet have we not forgotten thee, neither have we dealt falsely in thy covenant.
17 All this has come on us, but still we have kept you in our memory; and we have not been false to your word.
17 이 모든 일이 우리에게 임하였으나 우리가 주를 잊지 아니하며 주의 언약을 어기지 아니하였나이다
18 Our heart is not turnedback, neither have our stepsdeclined from thy way;
18 Our hearts have not gone back, and our steps have not been turned out of your way;
18 우리 마음이 퇴축지 아니하고 우리 걸음도 주의 길을 떠나지 아니하였으나
19 Though thou hast sore broken us in the place of dragons, and covered us with the shadow of death.
19 Though you have let us be crushed in the place of jackals, though we are covered with darkest shade.
19 주께서 우리를 시랑의 처소에서 심히 상해하시고 우리를 사망의 그늘로 덮으셨나이다
20 If we have forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a strangegod;
20 If the name of our God has gone out of our minds, or if our hands have been stretched out to a strange god,
20 우리가 우리 하나님의 이름을 잊어버렸거나 우리 손을 이방 신에게 향하여 폈더면
21 Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart.
21 Will not God make search for it? for he sees the secrets of the heart.
21 하나님이 이를 더듬어 내지 아니하셨으리이까 대저 주는 마음의 비밀을 아시나이다
22 Yea, for thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter.
22 Truly, because of you we are put to death every day; we are numbered like sheep for destruction.
22 우리가 종일 주를 위하여 죽임을 당케 되며 도살할 양 같이 여김을 받았나이다
23Awake, why sleepest thou, O Lord? arise, cast us not off for ever.
23 Why are you sleeping, O Lord? awake! and come to our help, do not give us up for ever.
