1A Song of degrees for Solomon. Except the LORDbuild the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORDkeep the city, the watchmanwakethbut in vain.

1 여호와께서 집을 세우지 아니하시면 세우는 자의 수고가 헛되며 여호와께서 성을 지키지 아니하시면 파숫군의 경성함이 허사로다
2It isvain for you to rise upearly, to sit uplate, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his belovedsleep.
2 It is of no use for you to get up early, and to go late to your rest, with the bread of sorrow for your food; for the Lord gives to his loved ones in sleep.
2 너희가 일찌기 일어나고 늦게 누우며 수고의 떡을 먹음이 헛되도다 그러므로 여호와께서 그 사랑하시는 자에게는 잠을 주시는도다
3 Lo, childrenare an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the wombis hisreward.
3 See, sons are a heritage from the Lord; the fruit of the body is his reward.
3 자식은 여호와의 주신 기업이요 태의 열매는 그의 상급이로다
4 As arrowsare in the hand of a mighty man; so arechildren of the youth.
4 Like arrows in the hand of a man of war, are the children of the young.
4 젊은 자의 자식은 장사의 수중의 화살 같으니
5Happyis the man that hath his quiverfull of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
5 Happy is the man who has a good store of them; he will not be put to shame, but his cause will be supported by them against his haters.
5 이것이 그 전통에 가득한 자는 복되도다 저희가 성문에서 그 원수와 말할 때에 수치를 당치 아니하리로다
