The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would show them a sign from heaven.1 And the Pharisees and Sadducees came and, testing him, made a request to him to give them a sign from heaven.1 바리새인과 사두개인들이 와서 예수를 시험하여 하늘로서 오는 표적 보이기를 청하니
He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red.2 But in answer he said to them, At nightfall you say, The weather will be good, for the sky is red.2 예수께서 대답하여 가라사대 너희가 저녁에 하늘이 붉으면 날이 좋겠다 하고
And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowering. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?3 And in the morning, The weather will be bad today, for the sky is red and angry. You are able to see the face of heaven, but not the signs of the times.3 아침에 하늘이 붉고 흐리면 오늘은 날이 궂겠다 하나니 너희가 천기는 분별할줄 알면서 시대의 표적은 분별할 수 없느냐
A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.4 An evil and false generation is searching after a sign; and no sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah. And he went away from them.4 악하고 음란한 세대가 표적을 구하나 요나의 표적 밖에는 보여 줄 표적이 없느니라 하시고 저희를 떠나 가시다
And when his disciples were come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread.5 And when the disciples came to the other side they had not taken thought to get bread.5 제자들이 건너편으로 갈째 떡 가져가기를 잊었더니
Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.6 And Jesus said to them, Take care to have nothing to do with the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.6 예수께서 이르시되 삼가 바리새인과 사두개인들의 누룩을 주의하라 하신대
And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have taken no bread.7 And they were reasoning among themselves, saying, We took no bread.7 제자들이 서로 의논하여 가로되 우리가 떡을 가져 오지 아니하였도다 하거늘
Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread?8 And Jesus, seeing it, said, O you of little faith, why are you reasoning among yourselves, because you have no bread?8 예수께서 아시고 가라사대 믿음이 적은 자들아 어찌 떡이 없음으로 서로 의논하느냐
Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?9 Do you still not see, or keep in mind the five cakes of bread of the five thousand, and the number of baskets you took up?9 너희가 아직도 깨닫지 못하느냐 떡 다섯 개로 오천 명을 먹이고 주운 것이 몇 바구니며
Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?10 Or the seven cakes of bread of the four thousand, and the number of baskets you took up?10 떡 일곱 개로 사천명을 먹이고 주운 것이 몇 광주리이던 것을 기억지 못하느냐
How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees?11 How is it that you do not see that I was not talking to you about bread, but about keeping away from the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees?11 어찌 내 말한 것이 떡에 관함이 아닌 줄을 깨닫지 못하느냐 오직 바리새인과 사두개인들의 누룩을 주의하라 하시니
Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.12 Then they saw that it was not the leaven of bread which he had in mind, but the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.12 그제야 제자들이 떡의 누룩이 아니요 바리새인과 사두개인들의 교훈을 삼가라고 말씀하신 줄을 깨달으니라
When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?13 Now when Jesus had come into the parts of Caesarea Philippi, he said, questioning his disciples, Who do men say that the Son of man is?13 예수께서 가이사랴 빌립보 지방에 이르러 제자들에게 물어 가라사대 사람들이 인자를 누구라 하느냐
And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist : some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.14 And they said, Some say, John the Baptist; some, Elijah; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.14 가로되 더러는 세례 요한, 더러는 엘리야, 어떤이는 예레미야나 선지자 중의 하나라 하나이다
He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?15 He says to them, But who do you say that I am?15 가라사대 너희는 나를 누구라 하느냐
And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.16 And Simon Peter made answer and said, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.16 시몬 베드로가 대답하여 가로되 주는 그리스도시요 살아계신 하나님의 아들이시니이다
And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.17 And Jesus made answer and said to him, A blessing on you, Simon Bar-jonah: because this knowledge has not come to you from flesh and blood, but from my Father in heaven.17 예수께서 대답하여 가라사대 바요나 시몬아 네가 복이 있도다 이를 네게 알게 한 이는 혈육이 아니요 하늘에 계신 내 아버지시니라
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.18 And I say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock will my church be based, and the doors of hell will not overcome it.18 또 내가 네게 이르노니 너는 베드로라 내가 이 반석 위에 내 교회를 세우리니 음부의 권세가 이기지 못하리라
And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.19 I will give to you the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatever is fixed by you on earth will be fixed in heaven: and whatever you make free on earth will be made free in heaven.19 내가 천국 열쇠를 네게 주리니 네가 땅에서 무엇이든지 매면 하늘에서도 매일 것이요 네가 땅에서 무엇이든지 풀면 하늘에서도 풀리리라 하시고
Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ.20 Then he gave orders to the disciples to give no man word that he was the Christ.20 이에 제자들을 경계하사 자기가 그리스도인 것을 아무에게도 이르지 말라 하시니라
From that time forth began Jesus to show unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.21 From that time Jesus went on to make clear to his disciples how he would have to go up to Jerusalem, and undergo much at the hands of those in authority and the chief priests and scribes, and be put to death, and the third day come again from the dead.21 이때로부터 예수 그리스도께서 자기가 예루살렘에 올라가 장로들과 대제사장들과 서기관들에게 많은 고난을 받고 죽임을 당하고 제 삼일에 살아나야 할것을 제자들에게 비로소 가르치시니
Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.22 And Peter, protesting, said to him, Be it far from you, Lord; it is impossible that this will come about.22 베드로가 예수를 붙들고 간하여 가로되 주여 그리 마옵소서 이 일이 결코 주에게 미치지 아니하리이다
But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.23 But he, turning to Peter, said, Get out of my way, Satan: you are a danger to me because your mind is not on the things of God, but on the things of men.23 예수께서 돌이키시며 베드로에게 이르시되 사단아 내 뒤로 물러 가라 너는 나를 넘어지게 하는 자로다 네가 하나님의 일을 생각지 아니하고 도리어 사람의 일을 생각하는도다 하시고
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, If any man would come after me, let him give up all, and take up his cross, and come after me.24 이에 예수께서 제자들에게 이르시되 아무든지 나를 따라 오려거든 자기를 부인하고 자기 십자가를 지고 나를 좇을 것이니라
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.25 Because whoever has a desire to keep his life safe will have it taken from him; but whoever gives up his life because of me, will have it given back to him.25 누구든지 제 목숨을 구원코자 하면 잃을 것이요 누구든지 나를 위하여 제 목숨을 잃으면 찾으리라
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?26 For what profit has a man, if he gets all the world with the loss of his life? or what will a man give in exchange for his life?26 사람이 만일 온 천하를 얻고도 제 목숨을 잃으면 무엇이 유익하리요 사람이 무엇을 주고 제 목숨을 바꾸겠느냐
For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.27 For the Son of man will come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he will give to every man the reward of his works.27 인자가 아버지의 영광으로 그 천사들과 함께 오리니 그 때에 각 사람의 행한대로 갚으리라
Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.28 Truly I say to you, There are some of those here who will not have a taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.28 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 여기 섰는 사람 중에 죽기 전에 인자가 그 왕권을 가지고 오는 것을 볼 자들도 있느니라
