1 Then went Samson to Gaza, and saw there an harlot ㆍ, and went in unto her.1 Now Samson went to Gaza, and there he saw a loose woman and went in to her.1 삼손이 가사에 가서 거기서 한 기생을 보고 그에게로 들어갔더니
2 And it was told the Gazites, saying, Samson is come hither. And they compassed him in, and laid wait for him all night in the gate of the city, and were quiet all the night, saying, In the morning, when it is day, we shall kill him.2 And it was said to the Gazites, Samson is here. So they went round, watching for him all day at the doorway of the town, but at night they kept quiet, saying, When daylight comes we will put him to death.2 혹이 가사 사람에게 고하여 가로되 삼손이 여기 왔다 하매 곧 그를 에워싸고 밤새도록 성문에 매복하고 밤새도록 종용히 하며 이르기를 새벽이 되거든 그를 죽이리라 하였더라
3 And Samson lay till midnight ㆍ, and arose at midnight ㆍ, and took the doors of the gate of the city, and the two posts, and went away with them, bar and all, and put them upon his shoulders, and carried them up to the top of an hill that is before Hebron.3 And Samson was there till the middle of the night; then he got up, and took a grip on the doors of the town, pulling them up, together with their two supports and their locks, and put them on his back and took them up to the top of the hill in front of Hebron.3 삼손이 밤중까지 누웠다가 그 밤중에 일어나 성문짝들과 두 설주와 빗장을 빼어 그것을 모두 어깨에 메고 헤브론 앞산 꼭대기로 가니라
4 And it came to pass afterward, that he loved a woman in the valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah.4 Now after this, he was in love with a woman in the valley of Sorek, named Delilah.4 이 후에 삼손이 소렉 골짜기의 들릴라라 이름하는 여인을 사랑하매
5 And the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and said unto her, Entice him, and see wherein his great strength lieth, and by what means we may prevail against him, that we may bind him to afflict him: and we will give thee every one of us eleven hundred pieces of silver.5 And the chiefs of the Philistines came up to her, and said to her, Make use of your power over him and see what is the secret of his great strength, and how we may get the better of him, and put bands on him, so that we may make him feeble; and every one of us will give you eleven hundred shekels of silver.5 블레셋 사람의 방백들이 그 여인에게로 올라와서 그에게 이르되 삼손을 꾀어서 무엇으로 말미암아 그 큰 힘이 있는지 우리가 어떻게 하면 그를 이기어서 결박하여 곤고케 할 수 있을는지 알아보라 그리하면 우리가 각각 은 일천 일백을 네게 주리라
6 And Delilah said to Samson, Tell me, I pray thee, wherein thy great strength lieth, and wherewith thou mightest be bound to afflict thee.6 So Delilah said to Samson, Make clear to me now what is the secret of your great strength, and how you may be put in bands and made feeble.6 들릴라가 삼손에게 말하되 청컨대 당신의 큰 힘이 무엇으로 말미암아 있으며 어떻게 하면 능히 당신을 결박하여 곤고케 할 수 있을는지 내게 말하라
7 And Samson said unto her, If they bind me with seven green withs that were never dried, then shall I be weak, and be as another man.7 And Samson said to her, If seven new bow-cords which have never been made dry are knotted round me, I will become feeble and will be like any other man.7 삼손이 그에게 이르되 만일 마르지 아니한 푸른 칡 일곱으로 나를 결박하면 내가 약하여져서 다른 사람과 같으리라
8 Then the lords of the Philistines brought up to her seven green withs which had not been dried, and she bound him with them.8 So the chiefs of the Philistines gave her seven new bow-cords which had never been made dry, and she had them tightly knotted round him.8 블레셋 사람의 방백들이 마르지 아니한 푸른 칡 일곱을 여인에게로 가져오매 그가 그것으로 삼손을 결박하고
9 Now there were men lying in wait, abiding with her in the chamber. And she said unto him, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he brake the withs, as a thread of tow is broken when it toucheth the fire. So his strength was not known.9 Now she had men waiting secretly in the inner room; and she said to him, The Philistines are on you, Samson. And the cords were broken by him as a twist of thread is broken when touched by a flame. So the secret of his strength did not come to light.9 이미 사람을 내실에 매복시켰으므로 삼손에게 말하되 삼손이여 블레셋 사람이 당신에게 미쳤느니라 하니 삼손이 그 칡 끊기를 불탄 삼실을 끊음 같이 하였고 그 힘의 근본은 여전히 알지 못하니라
10 And Delilah said unto Samson, Behold, thou hast mocked me, and told me lies: now tell me, I pray thee, wherewith thou mightest be bound.10 Then Delilah said to Samson, See, you have been making sport of me with false words; now, say truly how may you be put in bands?10 들릴라가 삼손에게 이르되 보라 당신이 나를 희롱하여 내게 거짓말을 하였도다 청컨대 무엇으로 하면 당신을 결박할 수 있을는지 이제는 내게 말하라
11 And he said unto her, If they bind me fast with new ropes that never were occupied ㆍ, then shall I be weak, and be as another man.11 And he said to her, If they only put round me new thick cords which have never been used, then I will become feeble and will be like any other man.11 삼손이 그에게 이르되 만일 쓰지 아니한 새 줄로 나를 결박하면 내가 약하여져서 다른 사람과 같으리라
12 Delilah therefore took new ropes, and bound him therewith, and said unto him, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And there were liers in wait abiding in the chamber. And he brake them from off his arms like a thread.12 So Delilah took new thick cords, knotting them tightly round him, and said to him, The Philistines are on you, Samson. And men were waiting secretly in the inner room. And the cords were broken off his arms like threads.12 들릴라가 새 줄을 취하고 그것으로 그를 결박하고 그에게 이르되 삼손이여 블레셋 사람이 당신에게 미쳤느니라 하니 삼손이 팔 위의 줄 끊기를 실을 끊음 같이 하였고 그 때에도 사람이 내실에 매복하였었더라
13 And Delilah said unto Samson, Hitherto thou hast mocked me, and told me lies: tell me wherewith thou mightest be bound. And he said unto her, If thou weavest the seven locks of my head with the web.13 Then Delilah said to Samson, Up to now you have made sport of me with false words; now say truly, how may you be put in bands? And he said to her, If you get the seven twists of my hair worked into the cloth you are making and fixed with the pin, I will become feeble and will be like any other man.13 들릴라가 삼손에게 이르되 당신이 이때까지 나를 희롱하여 내게 거짓말을 하였도다 내가 무엇으로 하면 당신을 결박할 수 있을는지 내게 말하라 삼손이 그에게 이르되 그대가 만일 나의 머리털 일곱가닥을 위선에 섞어 짜면 되리라
14 And she fastened it with the pin, and said unto him, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awaked out of his sleep, and went away with the pin of the beam, and with the web.14 So while he was sleeping she got the seven twists of his hair worked into her cloth and fixed with the pin, and said to him, The Philistines are on you, Samson. Then awaking from his sleep, he got up quickly, pulling up cloth and machine together.14 들릴라가 바디로 그 머리털을 단단히 짜고 그에게 이르되 삼손이여 블레셋 사람이 당신에게 미쳤느니라 하니 삼손이 잠을 깨어 직조틀의 바디와 위선을 다 빼어내니라
15 And she said unto him, How canst thou say, I love thee, when thine heart is not with me? thou hast mocked me these three times, and hast not told me wherein thy great strength lieth.15 And she said to him, Why do you say you are my lover when your heart is not mine? Three times you have made sport of me, and have not made clear to me the secret of your great strength.15 들릴라가 삼손에게 이르되 당신의 마음이 내게 있지 아니하면서 당신이 어찌 나를 사랑한다 하느뇨 당신이 이 세번 나를 희롱하고 당신의 큰 힘이 무엇으로 말미암아 있는 것을 내게 말하지 아니하였도다 하며
16 And it came to pass, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, so that his soul was vexed unto death;16 So day after day she gave him no peace, for ever questioning him till his soul was troubled to death.16 날마다 그 말로 그를 재촉하여 조르매 삼손의 마음이 번뇌하여 죽을 지경이라
17 That he told her all his heart, and said unto her, There hath not come a razor upon mine head; for I have been a Nazarite unto God from my mother's womb: if I be shaven, then my strength will go from me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man.17 And opening all his heart to her, he said to her, My head has never been touched by a blade, for I have been separate to God from the day of my birth: if my hair is cut off, then my strength will go from me and I will become feeble, and will be like any other man.17 삼손이 진정을 토하여 그에게 이르되 내 머리에는 삭도를 대지 아니하였나니 이는 내가 모태에서 하나님의 나실인이 되었음이라 만일 내 머리가 밀리우면 내 힘이 내게서 떠나고 나는 약하여져서 다른 사람과 같으리라
18 And when Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, Come up this once, for he hath showed me all his heart. Then the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and brought money in their hand.18 And when Delilah saw that he had let her see into his heart, she sent word to the chiefs of the Philistines saying, Come up this time, for he has let out all his heart to me. Then the chiefs of the Philistines came to her, with the money in their hands.18 들릴라가 삼손의 진정을 다 토함을 보고 보내어 블레셋 사람의 방백들을 불러 가로되 삼손이 내게 진정을 토하였으니 이제 한번만 올라오라 블레셋 방백들이 손에 은을 가지고 여인에게로 올라오니라
19 And she made him sleep upon her knees; and she called for a man, and she caused him to shave off the seven locks of his head; and she began to afflict him, and his strength went from him.19 And she made him go to sleep on her knees; and she sent for a man and had his seven twists of hair cut off; and while it was being done he became feeble and his strength went from him.19 들릴라가 삼손으로 자기 무릎을 베고 자게 하고 사람을 불러 그 머리털 일곱 가닥을 밀고 괴롭게 하여본즉 그 힘이 없어졌더라
20 And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the LORD was departed from him.20 Then she said, The Philistines are on you, Samson. And awaking from his sleep, he said, I will go out as at other times, shaking myself free. But he was not conscious that the Lord had gone from him.20 들릴라가 가로되 삼손이여 블레셋 사람이 당신에게 미쳤느니라 하니 삼손이 잠을 깨며 이르기를 내가 전과 같이 나가서 몸을 떨치리라 하여도 여호와께서 이미 자기를 떠나신 줄을 깨닫지 못하였더라
21 But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison house.21 So the Philistines took him and put out his eyes; then they took him down to Gaza, and, chaining him with bands of brass, put him to work crushing grain in the prison-house.21 블레셋 사람이 그를 잡아 그 눈을 빼고 끌고 가사에 내려가 놋줄로 매고 그로 옥중에서 맷돌을 돌리게 하였더라
22 Howbeit the hair of his head began to grow again after he was shaven.22 But the growth of his hair was starting again after it had been cut off.22 그의 머리털이 밀리운 후에 다시 자라기 시작하니라
23 Then the lords of the Philistines gathered them together for to offer a great sacrifice unto Dagon their god, and to rejoice: for they said, Our god hath delivered Samson our enemy into our hand.23 And the chiefs of the Philistines came together to make a great offering to Dagon their god, and to be glad; for they said, Our god has given into our hands Samson our hater.23 블레셋 사람의 방백이 가로되 우리의 신이 우리 원수 삼손을 우리 손에 붙였다 하고 다 모여 그 신 다곤에게 큰 제사를 드리고 즐거워하고
24 And when the people saw him, they praised their god: for they said, Our god hath delivered into our hands our enemy, and the destroyer of our country, which slew many of us.24 And when the people saw him, they gave praise to their god; for they said, Our god has given into our hands the one who was fighting against us, who made our country waste, and who put great numbers of us to death.24 백성들도 삼손을 보았으므로 가로되 우리 토지를 헐고 우리 많은 사람을 죽인 원수를 우리의 신이 우리 손에 붙였다 하고 자기 신을 찬송하며
25 And it came to pass, when their hearts were merry, that they said, Call for Samson, that he may make us sport. And they called for Samson out of the prison house; and he made them sport: and they set him between the pillars.25 Now when their hearts were full of joy, they said, Send for Samson to make sport for us. And they sent for Samson out of the prison-house, and he made sport before them; and they put him between the pillars.25 그들의 마음이 즐거울 때에 이르되 삼손을 불러다가 우리를 위하여 재주를 부리게 하자 하고 옥에서 삼손을 불러내매 삼손이 그들을 위하여 재주를 부리니라 그들이 삼손을 두 기둥 사이에 세웠더니
26 And Samson said unto the lad that held him by the hand, Suffer me that I may feel the pillars whereupon the house standeth, that I may lean upon them.26 And Samson said to the boy who took him by the hand, Let me put my hand on the pillars supporting the house, so that I may put my back against them.26 삼손이 자기 손을 붙든 소년에게 이르되 나로 이 집을 버틴 기둥을 찾아서 그것을 의지하게 하라 하니라
27 Now the house was full of men and women; and all the lords of the Philistines were there; and there were upon the roof about three thousand men and women, that beheld while Samson made sport.27 Now the house was full of men and women; and all the lords of the Philistines were there; and about three thousand men and women were on the roof, looking on while Samson made sport.27 그 집에는 남녀가 가득하니 블레셋 모든 방백도 거기 있고 지붕에 있는 남녀도 삼천명 가량이라 다 삼손의 재주 부리는 것을 보더라
28 And Samson called unto the LORD, and said, O Lord GOD, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged ㆍ of the Philistines for my two eyes.28 And Samson, crying out to the Lord, said, O Lord God, do have me now in mind, and do make me strong only this once, O God, so that I may take one last payment from the Philistines for my two eyes.28 삼손이 여호와께 부르짖어 가로되 주 여호와여 구하옵나니 나를 생각하옵소서 하나님이여 구하옵나니 이번만 나로 강하게 하사 블레셋 사람이 나의 두 눈을 뺀 원수를 단번에 갚게 하옵소서 하고
29 And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which the house stood, and on which it was borne up, of the one with his right hand, and of the other with his left.29 Then Samson put his arms round the two middle pillars supporting the house, putting his weight on them, on one with his right hand and on the other with his left.29 집을 버틴 두 가운데 기둥을 하나는 왼손으로, 하나는 오른손으로 껴 의지하고
30 And Samson said, Let me die ㆍ with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life.30 And Samson said, Let death overtake me with the Philistines. And he put out all his strength, and the house came down on the chiefs and on all the people who were in it. So the dead whom he sent to destruction by his death were more than all those on whom he had sent destruction in his life.30 가로되 블레셋 사람과 함께 죽기를 원하노라 하고 힘을 다하여 몸을 굽히매 그 집이 곧 무너져 그 안에 있는 모든 방백과 온 백성에게 덮이니 삼손이 죽을 때에 죽인 자가 살았을 때에 죽인 자보다 더욱 많았더라
31 Then his brethren and all the house of his father came down, and took him, and brought him up, and buried him between Zorah and Eshtaol in the buryingplace of Manoah his father. And he judged Israel twenty years.31 Then his brothers and his father's people came down and took him up and put his body to rest in the earth between Zorah and Eshtaol in the resting-place of Manoah his father. And he had been judge of Israel for twenty years.31 그의 형제와 아비의 온 집이 다 내려가서 그 시체를 취하여 가지고 올라와서 소라와 에스다올 사이 그 아비 마노아의 장지에 장사하니라 삼손이 이스라엘 사사로 이십년을 지내었더라
