1 And the children of Israel again did evil in the eyes of the Lord; and the Lord gave them into the hands of the Philistines for forty years.

2 And there was a certainman of Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose namewasManoah; and his wifewasbarren, and bare not.[x]MKJV: And there was a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose name [was] Manoah. And his wife was barren and did not bear. BBE: Now there was a certain man of Zorah of the family of the Danites, and his name was Manoah; and his wife had never given birth to a child. 2 Now there was a certain man of Zorah of the family of the Danites, and his name was Manoah; and his wife had never given birth to a child.

3 And the angel of the LORDappeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou artbarren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son.[x]MKJV: And the Angel of the LORD appeared to the woman and said to her, Behold now, you [are] barren and do not bear. But you shall conceive and bear a son. BBE: And the angel of the Lord came to the woman, and said to her, See now! though you have never given birth to children, you will be with child and give birth to a son. 3 And the angel of the Lord came to the woman, and said to her, See now! though you have never given birth to children, you will be with child and give birth to a son.
3 여호와의 사자가 그 여인에게 나타나시고 그에게 이르시되 보라 네가 본래 잉태하지 못하므로 생산치 못하였으나 이제 잉태하여 아들을 낳으리니
4 Now therefore beware, I pray thee, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat not any uncleanthing:[x]MKJV: And now, please take heed, and do not drink wine nor strong drink, and do not eat any unclean [thing]. BBE: Now then take care to have no wine or strong drink and to take no unclean thing for food; KAV: 그러므로 이제 원하건대 주의하여 포도즙과 독주를 마시지 말며 부정한 것은 아무것도 먹지 말라. 4 Now then take care to have no wine or strong drink and to take no unclean thing for food;
4 그러므로 너는 삼가서 포도주와 독주를 마시지 말찌며 무릇 부정한 것을 먹지 말찌니라
5 For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliverIsrael out of the hand of the Philistines.[x]MKJV: For lo, you shall conceive and bear a son. And no razor shall come upon his head. For the child shall be a Nazarite to God from the womb. And he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines. 5 For you are with child and will give birth to a son; his hair is never to be cut, for the child is to be separate to God from his birth; and he will take up the work of freeing Israel from the hands of the Philistines.
5 보라 네가 잉태하여 아들을 낳으리니 그 머리에 삭도를 대지 말라 이 아이는 태에서 나옴으로부터 하나님께 바치운 나실인이 됨이라 그가 블레셋 사람의 손에서 이스라엘을 구원하기 시작하리라
6 Then the womancame and told her husband, saying, A man of Godcame unto me, and his countenancewas like the countenance of an angel of God, veryterrible: but I asked him not whence he was, neither told he me his name:[x]MKJV: And the woman came and told her husband, saying, A man of God came to me, and His face [was] like the face of an Angel of God, very terrifying. But I did not ask Him where He came from, neither did He tell me His name. BBE: Then the woman came in, and said to her husband, A man came to me, and his form was like the form of a god, causing great fear; I put no question to him about where he came from, and he did not give me his name; KAV: ¶ 이에 그 여인이 가서 자기 남편에게 고하여 이르되, [하나님]의 사람이 내게 왔는데 그의 용모가 마치 [하나님]의 천사의 용모 같아서 심히 두려우므로 그가 어디서 왔는지 내가 묻지 못하였고 그도 자기 이름을 내게 말하지 아니하였나이다. 6 Then the woman came in, and said to her husband, A man came to me, and his form was like the form of a god, causing great fear; I put no question to him about where he came from, and he did not give me his name;
6 이에 그 여인이 가서 그 남편에게 고하여 가로되 하나님의 사람이 내게 임하였는데 그 용모가 하나님의 사자의 용모 같아서 심히 두려우므로 어디서부터 온 것을 내가 묻지 못하였고 그도 자기 이름을 내게 이르지 아니하였으며
7 But he said unto me, Behold, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and now drink no wine nor strong drink, neither eat any uncleanthing: for the child shall be a Nazarite to God from the womb to the day of his death.[x]MKJV: But He said to me, Behold, you shall conceive and bear a son. 7 But he said to me, You are with child and will give birth to a son; and now do not take any wine or strong drink or let anything unclean be your food; for the child will be separate to God from his birth to the day of his death.
7 그가 내게 이르기를 보라 네가 잉태하여 아들을 낳으리니 포도주와 독주를 마시지 말며 무릇 부정한 것을 먹지 말라 이 아이는 태에서 나옴으로부터 죽을 날까지 하나님께 바치운 나실인이 됨이라 하더이다
8 Then Manoahentreated the LORD, and said, O my Lord, let the man of God which thou didst send come again unto us, and teach us what we shall do unto the child that shall be born.[x]MKJV: And Manoah prayed to the LORD and said, O, my Lord, let the Man of God, whom You sent, come again to us and teach us what we shall do to the boy that shall be born. BBE: Then Manoah made prayer to the Lord, and said, O Lord, let the man of God whom you sent come to us again and make clear to us what we are to do for the child who is to come. 8 Then Manoah made prayer to the Lord, and said, O Lord, let the man of God whom you sent come to us again and make clear to us what we are to do for the child who is to come.
8 마노아가 여호와께 기도하여 가로되 주여 구하옵나니 주의 보내셨던 하나님의 사람을 우리에게 다시 임하게 하사 그로 우리가 그 낳을 아이에게 어떻게 행할 것을 우리에게 가르치게 하소서
9 And Godhearkened to the voice of Manoah; and the angel of God came again unto the woman as she sat in the field: but Manoah her husbandwas not with her.[x]MKJV: And God listened to the voice of Manoah, and the Angel of God came again to the woman as she sat in the field. But Manoah her husband [was] not with her. BBE: And God gave ear to the voice of Manoah; and the angel of God came to the woman again when she was seated in the field; but her husband Manoah was not with her. KAV: [하나님]께서 마노아의 목소리에 귀를 기울이시니라. 그 여인이 밭에 앉았을 때에 [하나님]의 천사가 다시 그녀에게 왔으나 그녀의 남편 마노아가 그녀와 함께 있지 아니하였더라. TSK: hearkened: ps 65:2, mt 7:7-11
9 And God gave ear to the voice of Manoah; and the angel of God came to the woman again when she was seated in the field; but her husband Manoah was not with her.
9 하나님이 마노아의 목소리를 들으시니라 여인이 밭에 앉았을 때에 하나님의 사자가 다시 그에게 임하셨으나 그 남편 마노아는 함께 있지 아니한지라
10 And the woman made haste, and ran, and showed her husband, and said unto him, Behold, the man hath appeared unto me, that came unto me the otherday.[x]MKJV: And the woman hurried and ran, and told her husband, and said to him, Behold, the Man has appeared to Me, the one who came to me the [other] day. BBE: So the woman, running quickly, gave her husband the news, saying, I have seen the man who came to me the other day. KAV: 그 여인이 급히 달려가서 자기 남편에게 알리며 이르되, 보소서, 다른 날에 내게 왔던 남자가 내게 나타났나이다, 하니라. 10 So the woman, running quickly, gave her husband the news, saying, I have seen the man who came to me the other day.
10 여인이 급히 달려가서 그 남편에게 고하여 가로되 보소서 전일에 내게 임하였던 사람이 또 내게 나타났나이다
11 And Manoaharose, and wentafter his wife, and came to the man, and said unto him, Art thou the man that spakest unto the woman? And he said, I am.[x]MKJV: And Manoah arose and went after his wife, and came to the Man, and said to Him, [Are] You the Man who spoke to the woman? And He said, I [am]. BBE: And Manoah got up and went after his wife, and came up to the man and said to him, Are you the man who was talking to this woman? And he said, I am. KAV: 마노아가 일어나 자기 아내를 따라가서 그 남자에게 이르러 그에게 이르되, 당신이 이 여인에게 말씀하신 사람이니이까? 하니 그가 이르되, 내가 그니라, 하거늘
11 And Manoah got up and went after his wife, and came up to the man and said to him, Are you the man who was talking to this woman? And he said, I am.
11 마노아가 일어나 아내를 따라가서 그 사람에게 이르러 그에게 묻되 당신이 이 여인에게 말씀하신 사람이니이까 가라사대 그로라
12 And Manoahsaid, Now let thy words come to pass. How shall we order the child, and how shall we do unto him?[x]MKJV: And Manoah said, Now let Your words come to pass. [How] shall we order the child, and what shall we do to him? BBE: And Manoah said, Now when your words come true, what is to be the rule for the child and what will be his work? KAV: 마노아가 이르되, 이제 당신의 말씀들이 이루어지기를 원하나이다. 우리가 이 아이에게 어떻게 지시하며 그에게 어떻게 행하오리이까? 하매 TSK: How shall we order the child: ge 18:19, pr 4:4, pr 22:6, eph 6:4
12 And Manoah said, Now when your words come true, what is to be the rule for the child and what will be his work?

13 And the angel of the LORDsaid unto Manoah, Of all that I said unto the woman let her beware.[x]MKJV: And the Angel of the LORD said to Manoah, Of all that I said to the woman let her be careful. BBE: And the angel of the Lord said to Manoah, Let the woman take note of what I have said to her. KAV: {주}의 천사가 마노아에게 이르되, 내가 이 여인에게 말한 모든 것에 그녀가 주의하여
13 And the angel of the Lord said to Manoah, Let the woman take note of what I have said to her.
13 여호와의 사자가 마노아에게 이르시되 내가 여인에게 말한것들을 그가 다 삼가서
14 She may not eat of any thing that cometh of the vine, neither let her drinkwine or strong drink, nor eat any uncleanthing: all that I commanded her let her observe.[x]MKJV: She may not eat of all that comes from the vine, neither let her drink wine nor strong drink, nor eat any unclean [thing]. Let her do all that I commanded her. BBE: She is to have nothing which comes from the vine for her food, and let her take no wine or strong drink or anything which is unclean; let her take care to do all I have given her orders to do. 15 And Manoahsaid unto the angel of the LORD, I pray thee, let us detain thee, until we shall have made ready a kidㆍfor thee.[x]MKJV: And Manoah said to the Angel of the LORD, I pray You, let us keep You until we have made a kid ready for You. BBE: And Manoah said to the angel of the Lord, Now let us keep you while we make ready a young goat for you. KAV: ¶ 마노아가 {주}의 천사에게 이르되, 원하건대 우리가 당신을 위해 염소 새끼 한 마리를 준비할 때까지 당신은 우리와 함께 머무소서, 하매 TSK: let us: jud 6:18,19, ge 18:3-5
15 And Manoah said to the angel of the Lord, Now let us keep you while we make ready a young goat for you.

16 And the angel of the LORDsaid unto Manoah, Though thou detain me, I will not eat of thy bread: and if thou wilt offer a burnt offering, thou must offer it unto the LORD. For Manoahknew not that he was an angel of the LORD.[x]MKJV: And the Angel of the LORD said to Manoah, Though you keep Me, I will not eat of your bread. And if you will offer a burnt offering, you must offer it to the LORD. For Manoah did not know that He [was] the Angel of the LORD. BBE: And the angel of the Lord said to Manoah, Though you keep me I will not take of your food; but if you will make a burned offering, let it be offered to the Lord. For it had not come into Manoah's mind that he was the angel of the Lord. KAV: {주}의 천사가 마노아에게 이르되, 네가 나를 머물게 하려 하나 내가 네 빵을 먹지 아니하리라. 네가 번제 헌물을 드리려거든 반드시 {주}께 드릴지니라, 하니라. 마노아는 그가 {주}의 천사인 줄 알지 못하였더라. 16 And the angel of the Lord said to Manoah, Though you keep me I will not take of your food; but if you will make a burned offering, let it be offered to the Lord. For it had not come into Manoah's mind that he was the angel of the Lord.
16 여호와의 사자가 마노아에게 이르시되 네가 비록 나를 머물리나 내가 너의 식물을 먹지 아니하리라 번제를 준비하려거든 마땅히 여호와께 드릴찌니라 하니 이는 마노아가 여호와의 사자인줄 알지 못함을 인함이었더라
17 And Manoahsaid unto the angel of the LORD, What is thy name, that when thy sayings come to pass we may do thee honour?[x]MKJV: And Manoah said to the Angel of the LORD, What [is] Your name, so that when Your sayings come to pass we may do You honor? BBE: Then Manoah said to the angel of the Lord, What is your name, so that when your words come true we may give you honour? KAV: 마노아가 또 {주}의 천사에게 이르되, 당신의 이름은 무엇이니이까? 당신의 말씀이 이루어질 때에 우리가 당신을 영화롭게 하리이다, 하니
17 Then Manoah said to the angel of the Lord, What is your name, so that when your words come true we may give you honour?
17 마노아가 또 여호와의 사자에게 말씀하되 당신의 이름이 무엇이니이까 당신의 말씀이 이룰 때에 우리가 당신을 존숭하리이다
18 And the angel of the LORDsaid unto him, Why askest thou thus after my name, seeing it issecret?[x]MKJV: And the Angel of the LORD said to him, Why do you ask after My name in this way? Yea, it [is] Wonderful. BBE: But the angel of the Lord said to him, Why are you questioning me about my name, seeing that it is a wonder? KAV: {주}의 천사가 그에게 이르되, 내 이름이 은밀한 줄을 알면서 어찌하여 네가 이같이 내 이름을 묻느냐? 하니라. TSK: Why askest: jud 13:6, ge 32:29
18 But the angel of the Lord said to him, Why are you questioning me about my name, seeing that it is a wonder?
18 여호와의 사자가 그에게 이르시되 어찌하여 이를 묻느냐 내 이름은 기묘니라
19 So Manoahtook a kidwith a meat offering, and offeredit upon a rock unto the LORD: and the angeldidwonderously; and Manoah and his wife looked on.[x]MKJV: And Manoah took a kid with a food offering, and offered [it] upon a rock to the LORD, and did wonderfully. And Manoah and his wife looked on. BBE: So Manoah took the young goat with its meal offering, offering it on the rock to the Lord, who did strange things. 19 So Manoah took the young goat with its meal offering, offering it on the rock to the Lord, who did strange things.
19 이에 마노아가 염소새끼 하나와 소제물을 취하여 반석 위에서 여호와께 드리매 사자가 이적을 행한지라 마노아와 그 아내가 본즉
20 For it came to pass, when the flame went up toward heaven from off the altar, that the angel of the LORDascended in the flame of the altar. And Manoah and his wife looked onit, and fell on their faces to the ground.[x]MKJV: For it happened when the flame went up toward heaven from off the altar, the Angel of the LORD went up in the flame of the altar. And Manoah and his wife looked on [it] and fell on their faces to. the ground. BBE: And when the flame went up to heaven from the altar, the angel of the Lord went up in the flame of the altar, while Manoah and his wife were looking on; and they went down on their faces to the earth. KAV: 불꽃이 제단에서부터 하늘로 올라갈 때에 {주}의 천사가 제단의 불꽃 가운데서 올라갔으므로 마노아와 그의 아내가 그것을 보고는 얼굴을 땅에 대고 엎드리니라. 20 불꽃이 단에서부터 하늘로 올라가는 동시에 여호와의 사자가 단 불꽃 가운데로 좇아 올라간지라 마노아와 그 아내가 이것을 보고 얼굴을 땅에 대고 엎드리니라
21 But the angel of the LORD did no moreappear to Manoah and to his wife. Then Manoahknew that he was an angel of the LORD.[x]MKJV: But the Angel of the LORD did not appear any more to Manoah and to his wife. Then Manoah knew that He [was] an Angel of the LORD. BBE: But the angel of the Lord was seen no more by Manoah and his wife. Then it was clear to Manoah that he was the angel of the Lord. 21 But the angel of the Lord was seen no more by Manoah and his wife. Then it was clear to Manoah that he was the angel of the Lord.
21 여호와의 사자가 마노아와 그 아내에게 다시 나타나지 아니하니 마노아가 이에 그가 여호와의 사자인줄 알고
22 And Manoahsaid unto his wife, We shall surelydie, because we have seenGod.[x]MKJV: And Manoah said to his wife, We shall surely die because we have seen God. BBE: And Manoah said to his wife, Death will certainly be our fate, for it is a god whom we have seen. 22 And Manoah said to his wife, Death will certainly be our fate, for it is a god whom we have seen.

23 But his wifesaid unto him, If the LORD were pleased to kill us, he would not have received a burnt offering and a meat offering at our hands, neither would he have showed us all these things, nor would as at this time have told us such things as these.[x]MKJV: But his wife said to him, If the LORD were pleased to kill us, He would not have received a burnt offering and a food offering at our hands, neither would He have showed us all these [things, nor have told us [such things] as these at this time. BBE: But his wife said to him, If the Lord was purposing our death, he would not have taken our burned offering and our meal offering, or have given us such orders about the child. KAV: 그의 아내가 그에게 이르되, {주}께서 우리를 죽이기를 기뻐하셨더라면 우리 손에서 번제 헌물과 음식 헌물을 받지 아니하셨을 것이요, 이 모든 일을 우리에게 보이지도 아니하시고 또한 지금처럼 이런 일들도 말씀하지 아니하셨으리이다, 하였더라. 23 But his wife said to him, If the Lord was purposing our death, he would not have taken our burned offering and our meal offering, or have given us such orders about the child.
23 그 아내가 그에게 이르되 여호와께서 우리를 죽이려 하셨더면 우리 손에서 번제와 소제를 받지 아니하셨을 것이요 이 모든 일을 보이지 아니하셨을 것이며 이제 이런 말씀도 우리에게 이르지 아니하셨으리이다 하였더라
24 And the womanbare a son, and called his nameSamson: and the childgrew, and the LORDblessed him.[x]MKJV: And the woman bore a son and called his name Samson. And the child grew, and the LORD blessed him. BBE: So the woman gave birth to a son, and gave him the name Samson; and he became a man and the blessing of the Lord was on him.
