2 And Joshuasentmen from Jericho to Ai, which isbesideBethaven, on the east side of Bethel, and spake unto them, saying, Go up and view the country. 3 Then they came back to Joshua and said to him, Do not send all the people up, but let about two or three thousand men go up and make an attack on Ai; there is no need for all the people to be tired with the journey there, for it is only a small town.

12 Therefore the children of Israelcould not standbefore their enemies, butturnedtheirbacksbefore their enemies, because they were accursed: neither will I be with you any more, except ye destroy the accursed from among you.[x]MKJV: And the sons of Israel could not stand before their enemies. They will turn [their] backs before their enemies, because they have become cursed. I will not be with you again, unless you destroy the one who is cursed from among you. 14 In the morning therefore ye shall be brought according to your tribes: and it shall be, that the tribe which the LORDtaketh shall come according to the familiesthereof; and the family which the LORD shall take shall come by households; and the household which the LORD shall take shall comeman by man.[x]MKJV: And in the morning, you shall be brought according to your tribes. And it shall be, the tribe which the LORD takes shall come, according to its families. And the family which the LORD shall take shall come by households. 15 And it shall be, that he that is taken with the accursed thing shall be burnt with fire, he and all that he hath: because he hath transgressed the covenant of the LORD, and because he hath wroughtfolly in Israel.[x]MKJV: And it shall be, he who is taken with the cursed thing shall be burned with fire, he and all he has, because he has broken the covenant of the LORD, and because he has done wickedness in Israel. 16 So Joshua rose up early in the morning, and broughtIsrael by their tribes; and the tribe of Judah was taken:[x]MKJV: And Joshua rose up early in the morning, and brought Israel by their tribes. 22 So Joshuasentmessengers, and they ran unto the tent; and, behold, it washid in his tent, and the silver under it.[x]MKJV: And Joshua sent messengers, and they ran into the tent. BBE: So Joshua sent men quickly, and looking in his tent, they saw where the robe had been put away secretly with the silver under it. 22 So Joshua sent men quickly, and looking in his tent, they saw where the robe had been put away secretly with the silver under it.

25 And Joshuasaid, Why hast thou troubled us? the LORD shall trouble thee this day. And all Israelstoned him with stones, and burned them with fire, after they had stoned them with stones.[x]MKJV: And Joshua said, Why have you troubled us? The LORD shall trouble you this day. And all Israel stoned him with stones, and burned them with fire, after they had stoned them with stones. BBE: And Joshua said, Why have you been a cause of trouble to us? 25 And Joshua said, Why have you been a cause of trouble to us? Today the Lord will send trouble on you. And all Israel took part in stoning him; they had him stoned to death and then burned with fire.
25 여호수아가 가로되 네가 어찌하여 우리를 괴롭게 하였느뇨 여호와께서 오늘날 너를 괴롭게 하시리라 하니 온 이스라엘이 그를 돌로 치고 그것들도 돌로 치고 불사르고
26 And they raised over him a greatheap of stones unto this day. So the LORDturned from the fierceness of his anger. Wherefore the name of that place was called, The valley of Achor, unto this day.[x]MKJV: And they raised over him a great heap of stones to this day.
