And I delivered you out of his hand. BBE: But I did not give ear to Balaam; and so he went on blessing you; and I kept you safe from him. 15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this daywhom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathersserved that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.[x]MKJV: And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served Beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you live. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. BBE: And if it seems evil to you to be the servants of the Lord, make the decision this day whose servants you will be: of the gods whose servants your fathers were across the River, or of the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living: but I and my house will be the servants of the Lord. 16 And the peopleanswered and said, God forbid that we should forsake the LORD, to serveothergods;[x]MKJV: And the people answered and said, Far be it from us to forsake the LORD to serve other gods. 16 Then the people in answer said, Never will we give up the Lord to be the servants of other gods;

17 For the LORD our God, he it is that brought us up and our fathers out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and which did those greatsigns in our sight, and preserved us in all the way wherein we went, and among all the peoplethrough whom we passed:[x]MKJV: For the LORD our God [is] He who brought us and our fathers up out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage. And He did those great wonders in our sight, and kept us in all our way in which we went and among all the people through whom we passed. 19 And Joshua said to the people, You are not able to be the servants of the Lord, for he is a holy God, a God who will not let his honour be given to another: he will have no mercy on your wrongdoing or your sins.
19 여호수아가 백성에게 이르되 너희가 여호와를 능히 섬기지 못할 것은 그는 거룩하신 하나님이시요 질투하는 하나님이시니 너희 허물과 죄를 사하지 아니하실 것임이라
20 If ye forsake the LORD, and servestrangegods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he hath done you good.[x]MKJV: If you forsake the LORD and serve strange gods, then He will turn and do you harm, and destroy you after He has done you good. 22 And Joshuasaid unto the people, Ye arewitnesses against yourselves that ye have chosen you the LORD, to serve him. 22 And Joshua said to the people, You are witnesses against yourselves that you have made the decision to be the servants of the Lord. And they said, We are witnesses.
