And the border went up to the right to the inhabitants of En-tappuah. BBE: And the limit of Manasseh's land was from Asher to Michmethath, which is before Shechem; the line goes on to the right hand, to the people of En-tappuah. 10Southwardit wasEphraim's, and northwardit wasManasseh's, and the sea is his border; and they met together in Asher on the north, and in Issachar on the east.[x]MKJV: Southward [it was] Ephraim's, and northward it was Manasseh's. And the sea is its border. And they met together in Asher on the north, and in Issachar on the east. 11 In Issachar and Asher, Manasseh had Beth-shean and its daughter-towns, and Ibleam and its daughter-towns, and the people of Dor and its daughter-towns, and the people of En-dor and its daughter-towns, and the people of Taanach and its daughter-towns, and the people of Megiddo and its daughter-towns, that is, the three hills.
11 잇사갈과 아셀에도 므낫세의 소유가 있으니 곧 벧 스안과 그 향리와 이블르암과 그 향리와 돌의 거민과 그 향리요 또 엔돌 거민과 그 향리와 다아낙 거민과 그 향리와 므깃도 거민과 그 향리들 세 높은 곳이라
12 Yet the children of Manassehcould not drive outthe inhabitants of those cities; but the Canaaniteswoulddwell in that land.[x]MKJV: Yet the sons of Manasseh were not able to occupy these cities, but the Canaanites wanted to live in that land. BBE: But the children of Manasseh were not able to make the people of those towns go out; but the Canaanites would go on living in that land. KAV: 그러나 므낫세 자손이 그 도시들의 거주민들을 쫓아내지 못하매 가나안 족속이 그 땅에 거하려 하였더라. 12 But the children of Manasseh were not able to make the people of those towns go out; but the Canaanites would go on living in that land.

13 Yet it came to pass, when the children of Israel were waxen strong, that they put the Canaanites to tribute; but did not utterly drive them out.[x]MKJV: And it happened when the sons of Israel had become strong, they put the Canaanites to tribute. But they did not completely drive them out. BBE: And when the children of Israel had become strong, they put the Canaanites to forced work, in place of driving them out. 14 And the children of Josephspake unto Joshua, saying, Why hast thou given me butonelot and oneportion to inherit, seeing I am a greatpeople, forasmuch as the LORD hath blessed me hitherto?[x]MKJV: The sons of Joseph spoke to Joshua saying, Why have you given me one lot and one portion to inherit, since I [am] a great people, because the LORD has blessed me until now? BBE: Then the children of Joseph said to Joshua, Why have you given me only one part and one stretch of land for my heritage? For through the blessing given to me by the Lord up to now, I am a great people. 15 And Joshuaanswered them, If thou be a greatpeople, then get thee up to the woodcountry, and cut down for thyself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the giants, if mountEphraim be too narrow for thee.[x]MKJV: And Joshua answered them, If you [are] a great people, and if mount Ephraim is too narrow for you, get up to the forest and cut down more for yourself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the giants. BBE: Then Joshua said to them, If you are such a great people, go up into the woodlands, clearing a place there for yourselves in the land of the Perizzites and the Rephaim, if the hill-country of Ephraim is not wide enough for you. 16 And the children of Josephsaid, The hill is not enough for us: and all the Canaanites that dwell in the land of the valley have chariots of iron, both they who are of Bethshean and her towns, and they who are of the valley of Jezreel.[x]MKJV: And the sons of Joseph said, The hill is not enough for us. And all the Canaanites who live in the land of the valley [have] chariots of iron, those who [are] of Beth-shean and its towns, and those who [are] of the valley of Jezreel. BBE: And the children of Joseph said, The hill-country is not enough for us: and all the Canaanites living in the valley have iron war-carriages, those in Beth-shean and its towns as well as those in the valley of Jezreel. 17 And Joshuaspake unto the house of Joseph, even to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying, Thou art a greatpeople, and hast greatpower: thou shalt not have onelotonly:[x]MKJV: And Joshua spoke to the house of Joseph, even to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying, You [are] a great people and have great power. You shall not have one lot. BBE: Then Joshua said to the children of Joseph, to Ephraim and Manasseh, You are a great people, and have great power: you are not to have one property only, KAV: 여호수아가 다시 요셉의 집 곧 에브라임과 므낫세에게 말하여 이르되, 너는 큰 백성이요 큰 권능이 있은즉 한 제비의 몫만 갖지 말라.
17 Then Joshua said to the children of Joseph, to Ephraim and Manasseh, You are a great people, and have great power: you are not to have one property only,
17 여호수아가 다시 요셉의 족속 곧 에브라임과 므낫세에게 일러 가로되 너는 큰 민족이요 큰 권능이 있은즉 한 분깃만 가질 것이 아니라
18 But the mountain shall be thine; for it is a wood, and thou shalt cut it down: and the outgoings of it shall be thine: for thou shalt drive out the Canaanites, though they have ironchariots, and though they bestrong.[x]MKJV: But the mountain shall be yours, for it [is] a forest, and you shall cut it down. And the outer limits of it shall be yours. For you shall drive out the Canaanites, even though they have iron chariots and though they [are] strong. BBE: For the hill-country of Gilead will be yours...the woodland and cut down...its outskirts will be yours...get the Canaanites out, for they have iron war-carriages...strong.
