3 For Moses had given their heritage to the two tribes and the half-tribe on the other side of Jordan, but to the Levites he gave no heritage among them.

And I brought him word again as it was in my heart. 7 I was forty years old when Moses, the servant of the Lord, sent me from Kadesh-barnea to make a search through the land; and the account which I gave him was in keeping with his desire.

9 And Mosessware on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance, and thy children'sforever, because thou hast whollyfollowed the LORD my God.[x]MKJV: And Moses swore on that day, saying, Surely the land on which your feet have trodden shall be your inheritance, and your sons' forever because you have fully followed the LORD my God. BBE: And on that day Moses took an oath, saying, Truly the land where your feet have been placed will become a heritage for you and your children for ever, because you have been true to the Lord your God with all your heart. 10 And now, behold, the LORD hath kept me alive, as he said, these forty and fiveyears, even since the LORDspake this word unto Moses, while the children ofIsraelwandered in the wilderness: and now, lo, I am this dayfourscore and fiveyearsold.[x]MKJV: And now, behold, the LORD has kept me alive these forty-five years as He said, even since the LORD spoke this word to Moses, while Israel wandered in the wilderness. And now, lo, I am eighty-five years old today. BBE: And now, as you see, the Lord has kept me safe these forty-five years, from the time when the Lord said this to Moses, while Israel was wandering in the waste land: and now I am eighty-five years old. 11 As yet I am asstrong this day as I was in the day that Mosessent me: as my strengthwas then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in.[x]MKJV: As yet I [am as] strong today as [I was] in the day that Moses sent me. As my strength [was] then, even so [is] my strength now, for war, both to go out and to come in. BBE: And still, I am as strong today as I was when Moses sent me out: as my strength was then, so is it now, for war and for all the business of life. KAV: 모세가 나를 보내던 날과 마찬가지로 이 날 내가 강건하니 내 힘이 그때나 지금이나 동일하여 싸우기 위해 나가고 들어올 수 있나이다. 12 Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the LORDspake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakimswere there, and that the citiesweregreatandfenced: if so be the LORDwill bewith me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the LORDsaid.[x]MKJV: And now give me this mountain of which the LORD spoke on that day. For you heard in that day [how] the giants [were] there, and that the cities were great and fortified. If the LORD will be with me, then I will be able to drive them out, as the LORD said. BBE: So now, give me this hill-country named by the Lord at that time; for you had an account of it then, how the Anakim were there, and great walled towns: it may be that the Lord will be with me, and I will be able to take their land, as the Lord said. 13 And Joshuablessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of JephunnehHebron for an inheritance.[x]MKJV: And Joshua blessed him, and gave Hebron to Caleb the son of Jephunneh for an inheritance.
