1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.1 Let not your heart be troubled: have faith in God and have faith in me.1 너희는 마음에 근심하지 말라 하나님을 믿으니 또 나를 믿으라
2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told ㆍ you. I go to prepare a place for you.2 In my Father's house are rooms enough; if it was not so, would I have said that I am going to make ready a place for you?2 내 아버지 집에 거할 곳이 많도다 그렇지 않으면 너희에게 일렀으리라 내가 너희를 위하여 처소를 예비하러 가노니
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.3 And if I go and make ready a place for you, I will come back again and will take you to be with me, so that you may be where I am.3 가서 너희를 위하여 처소를 예비하면 내가 다시 와서 너희를 내게로 영접하여 나 있는 곳에 너희도 있게 하리라
4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.4 And you all have knowledge of where I am going, and of the way to it.4 내가 가는 곳에 그 길을 너희가 알리라
5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?5 Thomas said, Lord, we have no knowledge of where you are going; how may we have knowledge of the way?5 도마가 가로되 주여 어디로 가시는지 우리가 알지 못하거늘 그 길을 어찌 알겠삽나이까
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way ㆍ, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.6 Jesus said to him, I am the true and living way: no one comes to the Father but by me.6 예수께서 가라사대 내가 곧 길이요 진리요 생명이니 나로 말미암지 않고는 아버지께로 올 자가 없느니라
7 If ye had known me ㆍ, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.7 If you had knowledge of me, you would have knowledge of my Father: you have knowledge of him now and have seen him.7 너희가 나를 알았더면 내 아버지도 알았으리로다 이제부터는 너희가 그를 알았고 또 보았느니라
8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.8 Philip said to him, Lord, let us see the Father, and we have need of nothing more.8 빌립이 가로되 주여 아버지를 우리에게 보여 주옵소서 그리하면 족하겠나이다
9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?9 Jesus said to him, Philip, have I been with you all this time, and still you have no knowledge of me? He who has seen me has seen the Father. Why do you say, Let us see the Father?9 예수께서 가라사대 빌립아 내가 이렇게 오래 너희와 함께 있으되 네가 나를 알지 못하느냐 나를 본 자는 아버지를 보았거늘 어찌하여 아버지를 보이라 하느냐
10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.10 Have you not faith that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words which I say to you, I say not from myself: but the Father who is in me all the time does his works.10 나는 아버지 안에 있고 아버지는 내 안에 계신 것을 네가 믿지 아니하느냐 내가 너희에게 이르는 말이 스스로 하는 것이 아니라 아버지께서 내 안에 계셔 그의 일을 하시는 것이라
11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works sake.11 Have faith that I am in the Father and that the Father is in me: at least, have faith in me because of what I do.11 내가 아버지 안에 있고 아버지께서 내 안에 계심을 믿으라 그렇지 못하겠거든 행하는 그 일을 인하여 나를 믿으라
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.12 Truly I say to you, He who puts his faith in me will do the very works which I do, and he will do greater things than these, because I am going to my Father.12 내가 진실로 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 나를 믿는 자는 나의 하는 일을 저도 할 것이요 또한 이보다 큰 것도 하리니 이는 내가 아버지께로 감이니라
13 And ㆍ whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.13 And whatever request you make in my name, that I will do, so that the Father may have glory in the Son.13 너희가 내 이름으로 무엇을 구하든지 내가 시행하리니 이는 아버지로 하여금 아들을 인하여 영광을 얻으시게 하려 함이라
14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.14 If you make any request to me in my name, I will do it.14 내 이름으로 무엇이든지 내게 구하면 내가 시행하리라
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.15 If you have love for me, you will keep my laws.15 너희가 나를 사랑하면 나의 계명을 지키리라
16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;16 And I will make prayer to the Father and he will give you another Helper to be with you for ever,16 내가 아버지께 구하겠으니 그가 또 다른 보혜사를 너희에게 주사 영원토록 너희와 함께 있게 하시리니
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot ㆍ receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.17 Even the Spirit of true knowledge. That Spirit the world is not able to take to its heart because it sees him not and has no knowledge of him: but you have knowledge of him, because he is ever with you and will be in you.17 저는 진리의 영이라 세상은 능히 저를 받지 못하나니 이는 저를 보지도 못하고 알지도 못함이라 그러나 너희는 저를 아나니 저는 너희와 함께 거하심이요 또 너희 속에 계시겠음이라
18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.18 I will not let you be without a friend: I am coming to you.18 내가 너희를 고아와 같이 버려두지 아니하고 너희에게로 오리라
19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.19 A little time longer, and the world will see me no more; but you will see me; and you will be living because I am living.19 조금 있으면 세상은 다시 나를 보지 못할 터이로되 너희는 나를 보리니 이는 내가 살았고 너희도 살겠음이라
20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.20 At that time it will be clear to you that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I in you.20 그 날에는 내가 아버지 안에, 너희가 내 안에, 내가 너희 안에 있는 것을 너희가 알리라
21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.21 He who has my laws and keeps them, he it is who has love for me: and he who has love for me will be loved by my Father, and I will have love for him and will let myself be seen clearly by him.21 나의 계명을 가지고 지키는 자라야 나를 사랑하는 자니 나를 사랑하는 자는 내 아버지께 사랑을 받을 것이요 나도 그를 사랑하여 그에게 나를 나타내리라
22 Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?22 Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, How is it that you will let yourself be seen clearly by us and not by the world?22 가룟인 아닌 유다가 가로되 주여 어찌하여 자기를 우리에게는 나타내시고 세상에게는 아니하려 하시나이까
23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.23 Jesus said to him in answer, If anyone has love for me, he will keep my words: and he will be dear to my Father; and we will come to him and make our living-place with him.23 예수께서 대답하여 가라사대 사람이 나를 사랑하면 내 말을 지키리니 내 아버지께서 저를 사랑하실 것이요 우리가 저에게 와서 거처를 저와 함께 하리라
24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.24 He who has no love for me does not keep my words; and the word which you are hearing is not my word but the Father's who sent me.24 나를 사랑하지 아니하는 자는 내 말을 지키지 아니하나니 너희의 듣는 말은 내 말이 아니요 나를 보내신 아버지의 말씀이니라
25 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.25 I have said all this to you while I am still with you.25 내가 아직 너희와 함께 있어서 이 말을 너희에게 하였거니와
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will be your teacher in all things and will put you in mind of everything I have said to you.26 보혜사 곧 아버지께서 내 이름으로 보내실 성령 그가 너희에게 모든 것을 가르치시고 내가 너희에게 말한 모든 것을 생각나게 하시리라
27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.27 May peace be with you; my peace I give to you: I give it not as the world gives. Let not your heart be troubled; let it be without fear.27 평안을 너희에게 끼치노니 곧 나의 평안을 너희에게 주노라 내가 너희에게 주는 것은 세상이 주는 것 같지 아니하니라 너희는 마음에 근심도 말고 두려워하지도 말라
28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me ㆍ, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.28 Keep in mind how I said to you, I go away and come to you again. If you had love for me you would be glad, because I am going to the Father: for the Father is greater than I.28 내가 갔다가 너희에게로 온다 하는 말을 너희가 들었나니 나를 사랑하였더면 나의 아버지께로 감을 기뻐하였으리라 아버지는 나보다 크심이니라
29 And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.29 And now I have given you word of it before it comes, so that, when it comes, you may have faith.29 이제 일이 이루기 전에 너희에게 말한 것은 일이 이룰 때에 너희로 믿게 하려 함이라
30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath ㆍ nothing in me.30 After this I will not say much to you, because the ruler of this world comes: and he has no power over me;30 이후에는 내가 너희와 말을 많이 하지 아니하리니 이 세상 임금이 오겠음이라 그러나 저는 내게 관계할 것이 없으니
31 But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.31 But he comes so that the world may see that I have love for the Father, and that I am doing as I am ordered by the Father. Get up, and let us go.31 오직 내가 아버지를 사랑하는 것과 아버지의 명하신대로 행하는 것을 세상으로 알게 하려 함이로라 일어나라 여기를 떠나자 하시니라
