| 3 For thou saidst, What advantage will it be unto thee? and, What profit shall I have, if I be cleansed from my sin? | 3 What profit is it to me, and how am I better off than if I had done wrong? | 3 이르기를 유익이 무엇인고 범죄한 것보다 내게 이익이 무엇인고 하는구나 |
| 4 I will answer ㆍ thee, and thy companions with thee. | 4 I will make answer to you and to your friends: | 4 내가 너와 및 너와 함께 있는 네 동무들에게 대답하리라 |
| 5 Look unto the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds which are higher than thou. | 5 Let your eyes be turned to the heavens, and lifted up to see the skies; they are higher than you. | 5 너는 하늘을 우러러 보라 네 위의 높은 궁창을 바라보라 |

| 7 If thou be righteous, what givest thou him? or what receiveth he of thine hand? | 7 If you are upright, what do you give to him? or what does he take from your hand? | 7 네가 의로운들 하나님께 무엇을 드리겠으며 그가 네 손에서 무엇을 받으시겠느냐 |
| 8 Thy wickedness may hurt a man as thou art; and thy righteousness may profit the son of man. | 8 Your evil-doing may have an effect on a man like yourself, or your righteousness on a son of man. | 8 네 악은 너와 같은 사람이나 해할 따름이요 네 의는 인생이나 유익하게 할 뿐이니라 |
| 9 By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make the oppressed to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty. | 9 Because the hand of the cruel is hard on them, men are making sounds of grief; they are crying out for help because of the arm of the strong. | 9 사람은 학대가 많으므로 부르짖으며 세력 있는 자의 팔에 눌리므로 도움을 부르짖으나 |
| 10 But none saith, Where is God my maker, who giveth songs in the night; | 10 But no one has said, Where is God my Maker, who gives songs in the night; | 10 나를 지으신 하나님 곧 사람으로 밤중에 노래하게 하시며 우리를 교육하시기를 땅의 짐승에게 하심보다 더하게 하시며 우리에게 지혜 주시기를 공중의 새에게 주심보다 더하시는 이가 어디 계신가 말하는 자가 한 사람도 없구나 |
| 11 Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven? | 11 Who gives us more knowledge than the beasts of the earth, and makes us wiser than the birds of the heaven? | 11 (10절에 포함되어 있음) |
| 12 There they cry, but none giveth answer, because of the pride of evil men. | 12 There they are crying out because of the pride of the evil-doers, but he gives them no answer. | 12 그들이 악인의 교만을 인하여 거기서 부르짖으나 응락하는 자가 없음은 |
| 13 Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it. | 13 But God will not give ear to what is false, or the Ruler of all take note of it; | 13 헛된 부르짖음은 하나님이 결코 듣지 아니하시며 전능자가 돌아보지 아니 하심이라 |
| 14 Although thou sayest thou shalt not see him, yet judgment is before him; therefore trust thou in him. | 14 How much less when you say that you do not see him; that the cause is before him, and you are waiting for him. | 14 하물며 말하기를 하나님은 뵈올 수 없고 일의 시비는 그 앞에 있으니 나는 그를 기다릴 뿐이라 하는 너랴 |
| 15 But now, because it is not so, he hath visited in his anger; yet he knoweth it not in great extremity: | 15 And now...; | 15 하나님이 진노하심으로 벌을 주지 아니하셨고 횡포를 심히 살피지 아니하셨으므로 |
| 16 Therefore doth Job open his mouth in vain; he multiplieth words without knowledge. | 16 And Job's mouth is open wide to give out what is of no profit, increasing words without knowledge. | 16 이제 너 욥이 헛되이 입을 열어 지식 없는 말을 많이 하는구나 |
