| 1 Moreover Job continued ㆍ his parable, and said, | 1 And Job again took up the word and said, | 1 욥이 또 비사를 들어 가로되 |
| 2 Oh that I were as in months past, as in the days when God preserved me; | 2 If only I might again be as I was in the months which are past, in the days when God was watching over me! | 2 내가 이전 달과 하나님이 나를 보호하시던 날에 지내던 것 같이 되었으면― |
| 3 When his candle shined upon my head, and when by his light I walked through darkness; | 3 When his light was shining over my head, and when I went through the dark by his light. | 3 그 때는 그의 등불이 내 머리에 비취었고 내가 그 광명을 힘입어 흑암에 행하였었느니라 |
| 4 As I was in the days of my youth, when the secret of God was upon my tabernacle; | 4 As I was in my flowering years, when my tent was covered by the hand of God; | 4 나의 강장하던 날과 같이 지내었으면― 그 때는 하나님의 우정이 내 장막 위에 있었으며 |
| 5 When the Almighty was yet with me, when my children were about me; | 5 While the Ruler of all was still with me, and my children were round me; | 5 그 때는 전능자가 오히려 나와 함께 계셨으며 나의 자녀들이 나를 둘러 있었으며 |
| 6 When I washed my steps with butter, and the rock poured me out rivers of oil; | 6 When my steps were washed with milk, and rivers of oil were flowing out of the rock for me. | 6 뻐터가 내 발자취를 씻기며 반석이 나를 위하여 기름시내를 흘려 내었으며 |
| 7 When I went out to the gate through the city, when I prepared my seat in the street! | 7 When I went out of my door to go up to the town, and took my seat in the public place, | 7 그 때는 내가 나가서 성문에 이르기도 하며 내 자리를 거리에 베풀기도 하였었느니라 |
| 8 The young men saw me, and hid themselves: and the aged arose, and stood up. | 8 The young men saw me, and went away, and the old men got up from their seats; | 8 나를 보고 소년들은 숨으며 노인들은 일어나서 서며 |

| 10 The nobles held their peace, and their tongue cleaved to the roof of their mouth. | 10 The chiefs kept back their words, and their tongues were joined to the roofs of their mouths. | 10 귀인들은 소리를 금하니 그 혀가 입 천장에 붙었었느니라 |
| 11 When the ear heard me, then it blessed me; and when the eye saw me, it gave witness to me: | 11 For when it came to their ears, men said that I was truly happy; and when their eyes saw, they gave witness to me; | 11 귀가 들은즉 나를 위하여 축복하고 눈이 본즉 나를 위하여 증거하였었나니 |
| 12 Because I delivered the poor that cried, and the fatherless, and him that had none to help him. | 12 For I was a saviour to the poor when he was crying for help, to the child with no father, and to him who had no supporter. | 12 이는 내가 부르짖는 빈민과 도와줄 자 없는 고아를 건졌음이라 |

| 19 My root was spread out by the waters, and the dew lay all night upon my branch. | 19 My root will be open to the waters, and the night mist will be on my branches, | 19 내 뿌리는 물로 뻗어나가고 내 가지는 밤이 마ㅊ도록 이슬에 젖으며 |
| 20 My glory was fresh in me, and my bow was renewed in my hand. | 20 My glory will be ever new, and my bow will be readily bent in my hand. | 20 내 영광은 내게 새로와지고 내 활은 내 손에서 날로 강하여지느니라 하였었노라 |
| 21 Unto me men gave ear, and waited, and kept silence at my counsel. | 21 Men gave ear to me, waiting and keeping quiet for my suggestions. | 21 무리는 내 말을 들으며 나의 가르치기를 잠잠히 기다리다가 |
| 22 After my words they spake not again; and my speech dropped upon them. | 22 After I had said what was in my mind, they were quiet and let my words go deep into their hearts; | 22 내가 말한 후에 그들이 말을 내지 못하였었나니 나의 말이 그들에게 이슬 같이 됨이니라 |
| 23 And they waited for me as for the rain; and they opened their mouth wide as for the latter rain. | 23 They were waiting for me as for the rain, opening their mouths wide as for the spring rains. | 23 그들이 나 바라기를 비 같이 하였으며 입을 벌리기를 늦은 비 기다리듯 하였으므로 |
