Babylon's doom; God's controversy with her; encouragements from thence to the Israel of God. (1-58) The confirming of this. (59-64)
KJV BBE KRV
Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will raise up against Babylon, and against them that dwell in the midst of them that rise up against me, a destroying wind;1 The Lord has said: See, I will make a wind of destruction come up against Babylon and against those who are living in Chaldaea;1 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시되 보라 내가 멸망시키는 자의 마음을 일으켜 바벨론을 치고 또 나를 대적하는 자 중에 처하는 자를 치되
And will send unto Babylon fanners, that shall fan her, and shall empty her land: for in the day of trouble they shall be against her round about.2 And I will send men to Babylon to make her clean and get her land cleared: for in the day of trouble they will put up their tents against her on every side.2 내가 타국인을 바벨론에 보내어 키질하여 그 땅을 비게 하리니 재앙의 날에 그를 에워 치리로다
Against him that bendeth let the archer bend his bow, and against him that lifteth himself up in his brigandine: and spare ye not her young men; destroy ye utterly all her host.3 Against her the bow of the archer is bent, and he puts on his coat of metal: have no mercy on her young men, give all her army up to the curse.3 활을 당기는 자를 향하며 갑주를 갖추고 선 자를 향하여 쏘는 자는 그 활을 당길 것이라 그 청년들을 아끼지 말며 그 군대를 진멸하라
Thus the slain shall fall in the land of the Chaldeans, and they that are thrust through in her streets.4 And the dead will be stretched out in the land of the Chaldaeans, and the wounded in her streets.4 무리가 갈대아인의 땅에서 죽임을 당하여 엎드러질 것이요 그 거리에서 찔림을 당한 자가 엎드러지리라 하시도다
For Israel hath not been forsaken, nor Judah of his God, of the LORD of hosts; though their land was filled with sin against the Holy One of Israel.5 For Israel has not been given up, or Judah, by his God, by the Lord of armies; for their land is full of sin against the Holy One of Israel.5 대저 이스라엘과 유다가 이스라엘의 거룩하신 자를 거역하므로 죄과가 땅에 가득하나 그 하나님 만군의 여호와에게 버림을 입지 아니하였나니
Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this is the time of the LORD'S vengeance; he will render unto her a recompense.6 Go in flight out of Babylon, so that every man may keep his life; do not be cut off in her evil-doing: for it is the time of the Lord's punishment; he will give her her reward.6 바벨론 가운데서 도망하여 나와서 각기 생명을 구원하고 그의 죄악으로 인하여 끊침을 보지 말지어다 이는 여호와의 보수의 때니 그에게 보복하시리라
Babylon hath been a golden cup in the LORD'S hand, that made all the earth drunken: the nations have drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are mad.7 Babylon has been a gold cup in the hand of the Lord, which has made all the earth overcome with wine: the nations have taken of her wine, and for this cause the nations have gone off their heads.7 바벨론은 여호와의 수중의 온 세계로 취케 하는 금잔이라 열방이 그 포도주를 마시고 인하여 미쳤도다
Babylon is suddenly fallen and destroyed: howl for her; take balm for her pain, if so be she may be healed.8 Sudden is the downfall of Babylon and her destruction: make cries of grief for her; take sweet oil for her pain, if it is possible for her to be made well.8 바벨론이 졸지에 넘어져 파멸되니 이로 인하여 울라 그 창상을 인하여 유향을 구하라 혹 나으리로다
We would have healed Babylon, but she is not healed: forsake her, and let us go every one into his own country: for her judgment reacheth unto heaven, and is lifted up even to the skies.9 We would have made Babylon well, but she is not made well: give her up, and let us go everyone to his country: for her punishment is stretching up to heaven, and lifted up even to the skies.9 우리가 바벨론을 치료하려 하여도 낫지 아니한즉 버리고 각기 고토로 돌아가자 그 화가 하늘에 미쳤고 궁창에 달하였음이로다
The LORD hath brought forth our righteousness: come, and let us declare in Zion the work of the LORD our God.10 The Lord has made clear our righteousness: come, and let us give an account in Zion of the work of the Lord our God.10 여호와께서 우리 의를 드러내셨으니 오라 시온에서 우리 하나님 여호와의 일을 선포하자
Make bright the arrows; gather the shields: the LORD hath raised up the spirit of the kings of the Medes: for his device is against Babylon, to destroy it; because it is the vengeance of the LORD, the vengeance of his temple.11 Make bright the arrows; take up the body-covers: the Lord has been moving the spirit of the king of the Medes; because his design against Babylon is its destruction: for it is the punishment from the Lord, the payment for his Temple.11 화살을 갈며 방패를 굳게 잡으라 여호와께서 메대 왕들의 마음을 격발하사 바벨론을 멸하기로 뜻하시나니 이는 여호와의 보수하시는 것 곧 그 성전의 보수하시는 것이라
Set up the standard upon the walls of Babylon, make the watch strong, set up the watchmen, prepare the ambushes: for the LORD hath both devised and done that which he spake against the inhabitants of Babylon.12 Let the flag be lifted up against the walls of Babylon, make the watch strong, put the watchmen in their places, make ready a surprise attack: for it is the Lord's purpose, and he has done what he said about the people of Babylon.12 바벨론 성벽을 향하여 기를 세우고 튼튼히 지키며 파숫군을 세우며 복병을 베풀어 방비하라 이는 여호와께서 바벨론 거민에 대하여 말씀하신대로 경영하시고 행하심이로다
O thou that dwellest upon many waters, abundant in treasures, thine end is come, and the measure of thy covetousness.13 O you whose living-place is by the wide waters, whose stores are great, your end is come, your evil profit is ended.13 많은 물 가에 거하여 재물이 많은 자여 네 탐남의 한정, 네 결국이 이르렀도다
The LORD of hosts hath sworn by himself, saying, Surely I will fill thee with men, as with caterpillars; and they shall lift up a shout against thee.14 The Lord of armies has taken an oath by himself, saying, Truly, I will make you full with men as with locusts, and their voices will be loud against you.14 만군의 여호와께서 자기로 맹세하시되 내가 진실로 사람을 황충 같이 네게 가득히 하리니 그들이 너를 향하여 소리를 높이리라 하시도다
He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heaven by his understanding.15 He has made the earth by his power, he has made the world strong in its place by his wisdom, and by his wise design the heavens have been stretched out:15 여호와께서 그 권능으로 땅을 지으셨고 그 지혜로 세계를 세우셨고 그 명철로 하늘들을 펴셨으며
When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens; and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth: he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.16 At the sound of his voice there is a massing of the waters in the heavens, and he makes the mists go up from the ends of the earth; he makes the thunder-flames for the rain and sends out the wind from his store-houses.16 그가 목소리를 발하신즉 하늘에 많은 물이 생기나니 그는 땅 끝에서 구름이 오르게 하시며 비를 위하여 번개하게 하시며 그 곳간에서 바람을 내시거늘
Every man is brutish by his knowledge; every founder is confounded by the graven image: for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.17 Then every man becomes like a beast without knowledge; every gold-worker is put to shame by the image he has made: for his metal image is deceit, and there is no breath in them.17 사람마다 우준하고 무식하도다 금장색마다 자기의 만든 신상으로 인하여 수치를 당하나니 이는 그 부어만든 우상은 거짓이요 그 속에 생기가 없음이라
They are vanity, the work of errors: in the time of their visitation they shall perish.18 They are nothing, a work of error: in the time of their punishment, destruction will overtake them.18 그것들은 헛것이요 망령되이 만든 것인즉 징벌하시는 때에 멸망할 것이나
The portion of Jacob is not like them; for he is the former of all things: and Israel is the rod of his inheritance: the LORD of hosts is his name.19 The heritage of Jacob is not like these; for the maker of all things is his heritage: the Lord of armies is his name.19 야곱의 분깃은 이같지 아니하시니 그는 만물의 조성자요 이스라엘은 그 산업의 지파라 그 이름은 만군의 여호와시니라
Thou art my battle ax and weapons of war: for with thee will I break in pieces the nations, and with thee will I destroy kingdoms;20 You are my fighting axe and my instrument of war: with you the nations will be broken; with you kingdoms will be broken;20 여호와께서 가라사대 너는 나의 철퇴 곧 병기라 내가 너로 열방을 파하며 너로 국가들을 멸하며
And with thee will I break in pieces the horse and his rider; and with thee will I break in pieces the chariot and his rider;21 With you the horse and the horseman will be broken; with you the war-carriage and he who goes in it will be broken;21 내가 너로 말과 그 탄 자를 부수며 너로 병거와 그 탄 자를 부수며
With thee also will I break in pieces man and woman; and with thee will I break in pieces old and young; and with thee will I break in pieces the young man and the maid;22 With you man and woman will be broken; with you the old man and the boy will be broken; with you the young man and the virgin will be broken;22 너로 남자와 여자를 부수며 너로 노년과 유년을 부수며 너로 청년과 처녀를 부수며
I will also break in pieces with thee the shepherd and his flock; and with thee will I break in pieces the husbandman and his yoke of oxen; and with thee will I break in pieces captains and rulers.23 With you the keeper of sheep with his flock will be broken, and with you the farmer and his oxen will be broken, and with you captains and rulers will be broken.23 너로 목자와 그 양떼를 부수며 너로 농부와 그 멍엣소를 부수며 너로 방백들과 두령들을 부수리로다
And I will render unto Babylon and to all the inhabitants of Chaldea all their evil that they have done in Zion in your sight, saith the LORD.24 And I will give to Babylon, and to all the people of Chaldaea, their reward for all the evil they have done in Zion before your eyes, says the Lord.24 그들이 너희 목전에 시온에서 모든 악을 행한대로 내가 바벨론과 갈대아 모든 거민에게 갚으리라 여호와의 말이니라
Behold, I am against thee, O destroying mountain, saith the LORD, which destroyest all the earth: and I will stretch out mine hand upon thee, and roll thee down from the rocks, and will make thee a burnt mountain.25 See, I am against you, says the Lord, O mountain of destruction, causing the destruction of all the earth: and my hand will be stretched out on you, rolling you down from the rocks, and making you a burned mountain.25 나 여호와가 말하노라 온 세계를 멸한 멸망의 산아 보라 나는 네 대적이라 나의 손을 네 위에 펴서 너를 바위에서 굴리고 너로 불 탄 산이 되게 할 것이니
And they shall not take of thee a stone for a corner, nor a stone for foundations; but thou shalt be desolate for ever, saith the LORD.26 And they will not take from you a stone for the angle of a wall or the base of a building; but you will be a waste place for ever, says the Lord.26 사람이 네게서 집 모퉁이 돌이나 기촛돌을 취하지 아니할 것이요 너는 영영히 황무지가 될 것이니라 여호와의 말이니라
Set ye up a standard in the land, blow the trumpet among the nations, prepare the nations against her, call together against her the kingdoms of Ararat, Minni, and Ashchenaz; appoint a captain against her; cause the horses to come up as the rough caterpillars.27 Let a flag be lifted up in the land, let the horn be sounded among the nations, make the nations ready against her; get the kingdoms of Ararat, Minni, and Ashkenaz together against her, make ready a scribe against her; let the horses come up against her like massed locusts.27 땅에 기를 세우며 열방 중에 나팔을 불어서 열국을 예비시켜 그를 치며 아라랏과 민니와 아스그나스 나라를 불러모아 그를 치며 대장을 세우고 그를 치되 사나운 황충 같이 그 말들을 몰아오게 하라
Prepare against her the nations with the kings of the Medes, the captains thereof, and all the rulers thereof, and all the land of his dominion.28 Make the nations ready for war against her, the king of the Medes and his rulers and all his captains, and all the land under his rule.28 열국 곧 메대인의 왕들과 그 방백들과 그 모든 두령과 그 관할하는 모든 땅을 예비시켜 그를 치게 하라
And the land shall tremble and sorrow: for every purpose of the LORD shall be performed against Babylon, to make the land of Babylon a desolation without an inhabitant.29 And the land is shaking and in pain: for the purposes of the Lord are fixed, to make the land of Babylon an unpeopled waste.29 땅이 진동하며 고통하나니 이는 나 여호와가 바벨론을 쳐서 그 땅으로 황무하여 거민이 없게 할 경영이 섰음이라
The mighty men of Babylon have forborne to fight, they have remained in their holds: their might hath failed; they became as women: they have burned her dwellingplaces; her bars are broken.30 Babylon's men of war have kept back from the fight, waiting in their strong places; their strength has given way, they have become like women: her houses have been put on fire, her locks are broken.30 바벨론의 용사는 싸움을 그치고 그 요새에 머무르나 기력이 쇠하여 여인 같이 되며 그 거처는 불타고 그 문빗장은 부러졌으며
One post shall run to meet another, and one messenger to meet another, to show the king of Babylon that his city is taken at one end,31 One man, running, will give word to another, and one who goes with news will be handing it on to another, to give word to the king of Babylon that his town has been taken from every quarter:31 보발군이 달려 만나고 사자가 달려 만나서 바벨론 왕에게 고하기를 그 성읍 사방이 함락되었으며
And that the passages are stopped, and the reeds they have burned with fire, and the men of war are affrighted.32 And the ways across the river have been taken, and the water-holes...burned with fire, and the men of war are in the grip of fear.32 모든 나루는 빼앗겼으며 갈밭이 불탔으며 군사들이 두려워하더이다 하리라
For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; The daughter of Babylon is like a threshingfloor, it is time to thresh her: yet a little while, and the time of her harvest shall come.33 For these are the words of the Lord of armies, the God of Israel: The daughter of Babylon is like a grain-floor when it is stamped down; before long, the time of her grain-cutting will come.33 만군의 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님이 이같이 말씀하시되 딸 바벨론은 때가 이른 타작마당과 같은지라 미구에 추수 때가 이르리라 하시도다
Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon hath devoured me, he hath crushed me, he hath made me an empty vessel, he hath swallowed me up like a dragon, he hath filled his belly with my delicates, he hath cast me out.34 Nebuchadrezzar, king of Babylon, has made a meal of me, violently crushing me, he has made me a vessel with nothing in it, he has taken me in his mouth like a dragon, he has made his stomach full with my delicate flesh, crushing me with his teeth.34 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살이 나를 먹으며 나를 멸하며 나로 빈 그릇이 되게 하며 용 같이 나를 삼키며 나의 좋은 음식으로 그 배를 채우고 나를 쫓아내었으니
The violence done to me and to my flesh be upon Babylon, shall the inhabitant of Zion say; and my blood upon the inhabitants of Chaldea, shall Jerusalem say.35 May the violent things done to me, and my downfall, come on Babylon, the daughter of Zion will say; and, May my blood be on the people of Chaldaea, Jerusalem will say.35 나와 내 육체에 대한 잔학이 바벨론에 돌아가기를 원한다고 시온 거민이 말할 것이요 내 피 흘린 죄가 갈대아 거민에게로 돌아가기를 원한다고 예루살렘이 말하리라
Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will plead thy cause, and take vengeance for thee; and I will dry up her sea, and make her springs dry.36 For this reason the Lord has said: See, I will give support to your cause, and take payment for what you have undergone; I will make her sea dry, and her fountain without water.36 그러므로 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시되 보라 내가 네 송사를 듣고 너를 위하여 보수하여 그 바다를 말리며 그 샘을 말리리니
And Babylon shall become heaps, a dwellingplace for dragons, an astonishment, and an hissing, without an inhabitant.37 And Babylon will become a mass of broken walls, a hole for jackals, a cause of wonder and surprise, without a living man in it.37 바벨론이 황폐한 무더기가 되어서 시랑의 거처와 놀람과 치솟거리가 되고 거민이 없으리라
They shall roar together like lions: they shall yell as lions whelps.38 They will be crying out together like lions, their voices will be like the voices of young lions.38 그들이 다 사자 같이 소리하며 어린 사자 같이 부르짖으며
In their heat I will make their feasts, and I will make them drunken, that they may rejoice, and sleep a perpetual sleep, and not wake, saith the LORD.39 When they are heated, I will make a feast for them, and overcome them with wine, so that they may become unconscious, sleeping an eternal sleep without awaking, says the Lord.39 열정이 일어날 때에 내가 연회를 베풀고 그들로 취하여 기뻐하다가 영영히 잠들어 깨지 못하게 하리라 여호와의 말이니라
I will bring them down like lambs to the slaughter, like rams with he goats.40 I will make them go down to death like lambs, like he-goats together.40 내가 그들을 끌어 내려서 어린 양과 수양과 수염소가 도수장으로 가는 것 같게 하리라
How is Sheshach taken! and how is the praise of the whole earth surprised! how is Babylon become an astonishment among the nations!41 How is Babylon taken! and the praise of all the earth surprised! how has Babylon become a cause of wonder among the nations!41 슬프다 세삭이 함락되었도다 온 세상의 칭찬 받는 성이 빼앗겼도다 슬프다 바벨론이 열방 중에 황폐하였도다
The sea is come up upon Babylon: she is covered with the multitude of the waves thereof.42 The sea has come up over Babylon; she is covered with the mass of its waves.42 바다가 바벨론에 넘침이여 그 많은 파도가 그것에 덮였도다
Her cities are a desolation, a dry land, and a wilderness, a land wherein no man dwelleth, neither doth any son of man pass thereby.43 Her towns have become a waste, a dry and unwatered land, where no man has his living-place and no son of man goes by.43 그 성읍들은 황폐하여 마른 땅과 사막과 거민이 없는 땅이 되었으니 그리로 지나가는 인자가 없도다
And I will punish Bel in Babylon, and I will bring forth out of his mouth that which he hath swallowed up: and the nations shall not flow together any more unto him: yea, the wall of Babylon shall fall.44 And I will send punishment on Bel in Babylon, and take out of his mouth what went into it; no longer will the nations be flowing together to him: truly, the wall of Babylon will come down.44 내가 벨을 바벨론에서 벌하고 그 삼킨 것을 그 입에서 끌어 내리니 열방이 다시는 그에게로 흘러가지 아니하겠고 바벨론 성벽은 무너지리로다
My people, go ye out of the midst of her, and deliver ye every man his soul from the fierce anger of the LORD.45 My people, go out from her, and let every man get away safe from the burning wrath of the Lord.45 나의 백성아 너희는 그 중에서 나와 각기 나 여호와의 진노에서 스스로 구원하라
And lest your heart faint, and ye fear for the rumour that shall be heard in the land; a rumour shall both come one year, and after that in another year shall come a rumour, and violence in the land, ruler against ruler.46 So that your hearts may not become feeble and full of fear because of the news which will go about in the land; for a story will go about one year, and after that in another year another story, and violent acts in the land, ruler against ruler.46 너희 마음을 겁약하게 말며 이 땅에서 들리는 풍설을 인하여 두려워 말라 풍설은 이 해에도 있겠고 저 해에도 있으리라 경내에는 강포함이 있어 관원끼리 서로 치리라
Therefore, behold, the days come, that I will do judgment upon the graven images of Babylon: and her whole land shall be confounded, and all her slain shall fall in the midst of her.47 For this cause, truly, the days are coming when I will send punishment on the images of Babylon, and all her land will be shamed, and her dead will be falling down in her.47 그러므로 보라 날이 이르리니 내가 바벨론의 조각한 신상들을 벌할 것이라 그 온 땅이 치욕을 당하겠고 그 살륙 당한 모든 자가 그 가운데 엎드러질 것이며
Then the heaven and the earth, and all that is therein, shall sing for Babylon: for the spoilers shall come unto her from the north, saith the LORD.48 And the heaven and the earth and everything in them, will make a song of joy over Babylon: for those who make her waste will come from the north, says the Lord.48 하늘과 땅과 그 중의 모든것이 바벨론을 인하여 기뻐 노래하리니 이는 파멸시키는 자가 북방에서 그에게 옴이니라 여호와의 말이니라
As Babylon hath caused the slain of Israel to fall, so at Babylon shall fall the slain of all the earth.49 As Babylon had the dead of Israel put to the sword, so in Babylon the dead of all the land will be stretched out.49 바벨론이 이스라엘 사람을 살륙하여 엎드러뜨림 같이 온 땅 사람이 바벨론에서 살륙을 당하여 엎드러지리라 하시도다
Ye that have escaped the sword, go away, stand not still: remember the LORD afar off, and let Jerusalem come into your mind.50 You who have got away safe from the sword, go, waiting for nothing; have the Lord in memory when you are far away, and keep Jerusalem in mind.50 칼을 면한 자들이여 서지 말라 행하라 원방에서 여호와를 생각하며 예루살렘을 너희 마음에 두라
We are confounded, because we have heard reproach: shame hath covered our faces: for strangers are come into the sanctuaries of the LORD'S house.51 We are shamed because bitter words have come to our ears; our faces are covered with shame: for men from strange lands have come into the holy places of the Lord's house.51 이방인이 여호와의 집 성소에 들어가므로 우리가 책망을 들으며 수치를 당하여 부끄러움이 우리 얼굴에 덮였느니라
Wherefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will do judgment upon her graven images: and through all her land the wounded shall groan.52 For this reason, see, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will send punishment on her images; and through all her land the wounded will be crying out in pain.52 그러므로 여호와께서 가라사대 보라 날이 이르리니 내가 그 조각한 신상을 벌할 것이라 상함을 입은 자들이 그 땅에서 신음하리라
Though Babylon should mount up to heaven, and though she should fortify the height of her strength, yet from me shall spoilers come unto her, saith the LORD.53 Even if Babylon was lifted up to heaven, even if she had the high places of her strength shut in with walls, still I would send against her those who will make her waste, says the Lord.53 가령 바벨론이 하늘까지 솟아오른다 하자 그 성을 높이어 견고히 한다 하자 멸망시킬 자가 내게서부터 그들에게 임하리라 여호와의 말이니라
A sound of a cry cometh from Babylon, and great destruction from the land of the Chaldeans:54 There is the sound of a cry from Babylon, and of a great destruction from the land of the Chaldaeans:54 바벨론에서 부르짖는 소리여 갈대아인의 땅에 큰 파멸의 소리로다
Because the LORD hath spoiled Babylon, and destroyed out of her the great voice; when her waves do roar like great waters, a noise of their voice is uttered:55 For the Lord is making Babylon waste, and putting an end to the great voice coming out of her; and her waves are thundering like great waters, their voice is sounding loud:55 이는 여호와께서 바벨론을 황폐케 하사 그 떠드는 소리를 끊으심이로다 그 대적이 많은 물의 요동함 같이 요란한 소리를 발하니
Because the spoiler is come upon her, even upon Babylon, and her mighty men are taken, every one of their bows is broken: for the LORD God of recompenses shall surely requite.56 For the waster has come on her, even on Babylon, and her men of war are taken, their bows are broken: for the Lord is a rewarding God, and he will certainly give payment.56 곧 멸망시키는 자가 바벨론에 임함이라 그 용사들이 사로잡히고 그들의 활이 꺾이도다 여호와는 보복의 하나님이시니 반드시 보응하시리로다
And I will make drunk her princes, and her wise men, her captains, and her rulers, and her mighty men: and they shall sleep a perpetual sleep, and not wake, saith the King, whose name is the LORD of hosts.57 And I will make her chiefs and her wise men, her rulers and her captains and her men of war, overcome with wine; their sleep will be an eternal sleep without awaking, says the King; the Lord of armies is his name.57 만군의 여호와라 일컫는 왕이 이같이 말씀하시되 내가 그 방백들과 박사들과 감독들과 관장들과 용사들로 취하게 하리니 그들이 영영히 자고 깨지 못하리라
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The broad walls of Babylon shall be utterly broken, and her high gates shall be burned with fire; and the people shall labour in vain, and the folk in the fire, and they shall be weary.58 The Lord of armies has said: The wide walls of Babylon will be completely uncovered and her high doorways will be burned with fire; so peoples keep on working for nothing, and the weariness of nations comes to an end in the smoke.58 만군의 여호와가 이같이 말하노라 바벨론의 넓은 성벽은 온전히 무너지겠고 그 높은 문들은 불에 탈 것이며 백성들의 수고는 헛될 것이요 민족들의 수고는 불탈 것인즉 그들이 쇠패하리라 하시니라
The word which Jeremiah the prophet commanded Seraiah the son of Neriah, the son of Maaseiah, when he went with Zedekiah the king of Judah into Babylon in the fourth year of his reign. And this Seraiah was a quiet prince.59 The order which Jeremiah the prophet gave to Seraiah, the son of Neriah, the son of Mahseiah, when he went with Zedekiah, the king of Judah, to Babylon in the fourth year of his rule. Now Seraiah was the chief controller of the house.59 유다 왕 시드기야 사년에 마세야의 손자 네리야의 아들 스라야가 왕과 함께 바벨론으로 갈 때에 선지자 예레미야가 그에게 말씀을 명하니 스라야는 시종장이더라
So Jeremiah wrote in a book all the evil that should come upon Babylon, even all these words that are written against Babylon.60 And Jeremiah put in a book all the evil which was to come on Babylon.60 예레미야가 바벨론에 임할 모든 재앙 곧 바벨론에 대하여 기록한 이 모든 말씀을 한 책에 기록하고
And Jeremiah said to Seraiah, When thou comest to Babylon, and shalt see, and shalt read all these words;61 And Jeremiah said to Seraiah, When you come to Babylon, see that you give them all these words;61 예레미야가 스라야에게 이르되 너는 바벨론에 이르거든 삼가 이 모든 말씀을 읽고
