2Take thee a roll of a book, and write therein all the words that I have spoken unto thee against Israel, and against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spake unto thee, from the days of Josiah, even unto this day.
2 Take a book and put down in it all the words I have said to you against Israel and against Judah and against all the nations, from the day when my word came to you in the days of Josiah till this day.

3 It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil which I purpose to do unto them; that they may return every man from his evilway; that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.
3 It may be that the people of Judah, hearing of all the evil which it is my purpose to do to them, will be turned, every man from his evil ways; so that they may have my forgiveness for their evil-doing and their sin.

4 Then JeremiahcalledBaruch the son of Neriah: and Baruchwrote from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the LORD, which he had spoken unto him, upon a roll of a book.
4 Then Jeremiah sent for Baruch, the son of Neriah; and Baruch took down from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the Lord which he had said to him, writing them in a book.
4 이에 예레미야가 네리야의 아들 바룩을 부르매 바룩이 예레미야의 구전대로 여호와께서 그에게 이르신 모든 말씀을 두루마리 책에 기록하니라

6 So you are to go, reading there from the book, which you have taken down from my mouth, the words of the Lord, in the hearing of the people in the Lord's house, on a day when they go without food, and in the hearing of all the men of Judah who have come out from their towns.
6 너는 들어가서 나의 구전대로 두루마리에 기록한 여호와의 말씀을 금식일에 여호와의 집에 있는 백성의 귀에 낭독하고 유다 모든 성에서 온 자들의 귀에도 낭독하라

7 It may be they will present their supplicationbefore the LORD, and will return every one from his evilway: for greatis the anger and the fury that the LORD hath pronounced against this people.
7 It may be that their prayer for grace will go up to the Lord, and that every man will be turned from his evil ways: for great is the wrath and the passion made clear by the Lord against this people.
7 그들이 여호와 앞에 기도를 드리며 각기 악한 길을 떠날듯 하니라 여호와께서 이 백성에 대하여 선포하신 노와 분이 크니라
8 And Baruch the son of Neriahdid according to all that Jeremiah the prophetcommanded him, reading in the book the words of the LORD in the LORD'Shouse.
8 And Baruch, the son of Neriah, did as Jeremiah the prophet gave him orders to do, reading from the book the words of the Lord in the Lord's house.

10 바룩이 여호와의 집 윗뜰 곧 여호와의 집 새문 어귀의 곁에 있는 사반의 아들 서기관 그마랴의 방에서 그 책에 있는 예레미야의 말을 낭독하여 모든 백성에게 들리니라

14 So all the rulers sent Jehudi, the son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, to Baruch, saying, Take in your hand the book from which you have been reading to the people and come. So Baruch, the son of Neriah, took the book in his hand and came down to them.
14 이에 모든 방백이 구시의 증손 셀레먀의 손자 느다냐의 아들 여후디를 바룩에게 보내어 이르되 너는 백성의 귀에 낭독한 두루마리를 손에 가지고 오라 네리야의 아들 바룩이 두루마리를 손에 가지고 그들에게로 가매

16 그들이 그 모든 말씀을 듣고 놀라 서로 보며 바룩에게 이르되 우리가 이 모든 말을 왕에게 고하리라

19 이에 방백들이 바룩에게 이르되 너는 가서 예레미야와 함께 숨고 너희 있는 곳을 사람에게 알리지 말라 하니라

21 So the king sent Jehudi to get the book, and he took it from the room of Elishama the scribe. And Jehudi gave a reading of it in the hearing of the king and all the rulers who were by the king's side.
21 왕이 여후디를 보내어 두루마리를 가져오게 하매 여후디가 서기관 엘리사마의 방에서 가져다가 왕과 왕의 곁에 선 모든 방백의 귀에 낭독하니

22 때는 구월이라 왕이 겨울 궁전에 앉았고 그 앞에는 불 피운 화로가 있더라

23 And it came to pass, that when Jehudi had readthree or fourleaves, he cut it with the penknifeㆍ, and castit into the fire that was on the hearth, until all the roll was consumed in the fire that was on the hearth.
23 And it came about that whenever Jehudi, in his reading, had got through three or four divisions, the king, cutting them with his penknife, put them into the fire, till all the book was burned up in the fire which was burning in the fireplace.
23 여후디가 삼편 사편을 낭독하면 왕이 소도로 그것을 연하여 베어 화로 불에 던져서 온 두루마리를 태웠더라

24 Yet they were not afraid, nor rent their garments, neither the king, nor any of his servants that heard all these words.

25 Nevertheless Elnathan and Delaiah and Gemariah had made intercession to the king that he would not burn the roll: but he would not hear them.
