2 Go and say in the ears of Jerusalem, The Lord says, I still keep the memory of your kind heart when you were young, and your love when you became my bride; how you went after me in the waste of sand, in an unplanted land.
2 가서 예루살렘 거민의 귀에 외쳐 말할찌니라 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시기를 네 소년 때의 우의와 네 결혼 때의 사랑 곧 씨 뿌리지 못하는 땅, 광야에서 어떻게 나를 좇았음을 내가 너를 위하여 기억하노라

3Israelwasholiness unto the LORD, and the firstfruits of his increase: all that devour him shall offend; evil shall come upon them, saith the LORD.

8 The priestssaid not, Where is the LORD? and they that handle the lawknew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophetsprophesied by Baal, and walkedafterthings that do not profit.
8 The priests did not say, Where is the Lord? and those who were expert in the law had no knowledge of me: and the rulers did evil against me, and the prophets became prophets of the Baal, going after things without value.
8 제사장들은 여호와께서 어디 계시냐 하지 아니하며 법 잡은 자들은 나를 알지 못하며 관리들도 나를 항거하며 선지자들은 바알의 이름으로 예언하고 무익한 것을 좇았느니라
9 Wherefore I will yet plead with you, saith the LORD, and with your children'schildren will I plead.
9 For this reason, I will again put forward my cause against you, says the Lord, even against you and against your children's children.

14IsIsrael a servant? is he a homebornslave? why is he spoiled?
14 Is Israel a servant? has he been a house-servant from birth? why has he been made waste?
14 이스라엘이 종이냐 씨종이냐 어찌하여 포로가 되었느냐

18 And now what hast thou to do in the way of Egypt, to drink the waters of Sihor? or what hast thou to do in the way of Assyria, to drink the waters of the river?
18 And now, what have you to do on the way to Egypt, to get your drink from the waters of the Nile? or what have you to do on the way to Assyria, to get your drink from the waters of the River?
18 네가 시홀의 물을 마시려고 애굽 길에 있음은 어찜이며 또 그 하수를 마시려고 앗수르 길에 있음은 어찜이뇨

21 Yet I had planted thee a noble vine, wholly a rightseed: how then art thou turned into the degenerate plant of a strangevine unto me?
21 But when you were planted by me, you were a noble vine, in every way a true seed: how then have you been changed into the branching plant of a strange vine?
21 내가 너를 순전한 참 종자 곧 귀한 포도나무로 심었거늘 내게 대하여 이방 포도나무의 악한 가지가 됨은 어찜이뇨
22 For though thou wash thee with nitre, and take thee muchsoap, yet thine iniquity is markedbefore me, saith the LordGOD.
22 For even if you are washed with soda and take much soap, still your evil-doing is marked before me, says the Lord God.
