1 Nevertheless the dimnessshall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflicther by the way of the sea, beyondJordan, in Galilee of the nations.

2 The people that walked in darkness have seen a greatlight: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the lightshined.
2 The people who went in the dark have seen a great light, and for those who were living in the land of the deepest night, the light is shining.
3 Thou hast multiplied the nation, and not increased the joy: they joybefore thee according to the joy in harvest, and as menrejoice when they divide the spoil.
3 You have made them very glad, increasing their joy. They are glad before you as men are glad in the time of getting in the grain, or when they make division of the goods taken in war.

7 Of the increase of hisgovernment and peacethere shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
7 Of the increase of his rule and of peace there will be no end, on the seat of David, and in his kingdom; to make it strong, supporting it with wise decision and righteousness, now and for ever. By the fixed purpose of the Lord of armies this will be done.
7 그 정사와 평강의 더함이 무궁하며 또 다윗의 위에 앉아서 그 나라를 굳게 세우고 자금 이후 영원토록 공평과 정의로 그것을 보존하실 것이라 만군의 여호와의 열심이 이를 이루시리라
