1 Now these are the generations of Esau, who is Edom.1 Now these are the generations of Esau, that is to say, Edom.1 에서 곧 에돔의 대략이 이러하니라
2 Esau took his wives of the daughters of Canaan; Adah the daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Aholibamah the daughter of Anah the daughter of Zibeon the Hivite;2 Esau's wives were women of Canaan: Adah, the daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Oholibamah, the daughter of Anah, the daughter of Zibeon the Hivite,2 에서가 가나안 여인중 헷 족속중 엘론의 딸 아다와 히위 족속중 시브온의 딸 아나의 소생 오홀리바마를 자기 아내로 취하고
3 And Bashemath Ishmael's daughter, sister of Nebajoth.3 And Basemath, Ishmael's daughter, the sister of Nebaioth.3 또 이스마엘의 딸 느바욧의 누이 바스맛을 취하였더니
4 And Adah bare to Esau Eliphaz; and Bashemath bare Reuel;4 Adah had a son Eliphaz; and Basemath was the mother of Reuel;4 아다는 엘리바스를 에서에게 낳았고 바스맛은 르우엘을 낳았고
5 And Aholibamah bare Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah: these are the sons of Esau, which were born unto him in the land of Canaan.5 Oholibamah was the mother of Jeush, Jalam, and Korah; these are the sons of Esau, whose birth took place in the land of Canaan.5 오홀리바마는 여우스와 얄람과 고라를 낳았으니 이들은 에서의 아들이요 가나안 땅에서 그에게 낳은 자더라
6 And Esau took his wives, and his sons, and his daughters, and all the persons of his house, and his cattle, and all his beasts, and all his substance, which he had got in the land of Canaan; and went into the country from the face of his brother Jacob.6 Esau took his wives and his sons and his daughters, and all the people of his house, and his beasts and his cattle and all his goods which he had got together in the land of Canaan, and went into the land of Seir, away from his brother Jacob.6 에서가 자기 아내들과 자기 자녀들과 자기 집의 모든 사람과 자기의 가축과 자기 모든 짐승과 자기가 가나안 땅에서 얻은 모든 재물을 이끌고 그 동생 야곱을 떠나 타처로 갔으니
7 For their riches were more than that they might dwell together; and the land wherein they were strangers could not bear them because of their cattle.7 For their wealth was so great that the land was not wide enough for the two of them and all their cattle.7 두 사람의 소유가 풍부하여 함께 거할 수 없음이러라 그들의 우거한 땅이 그들의 가축으로 인하여 그들을 용납할 수 없었더라
8 Thus dwelt Esau in mount Seir: Esau is Edom.8 So Esau made his living-place in the hill-country of Seir (Esau is Edom).8 이에 에서 곧 에돔이 세일산에 거하니라
9 And these are the generations of Esau the father of the Edomites in mount Seir:9 And these are the generations of Esau, the father of the Edomites in the hill-country of Seir:9 세일산에 거한 에돔 족속의 조상 에서의 대략이 이러하고
10 These are the names of Esau's sons; Eliphaz the son of Adah the wife of Esau, Reuel the son of Bashemath the wife of Esau.10 These are the names of Esau's sons: Eliphaz, the son of Esau's wife Adah, and Reuel, the son of Esau's wife Basemath.10 그 자손의 이름은 이러하니라 에서의 아내 아다의 아들은 엘리바스요 에서의 아내 바스맛의 아들은 르우엘이며
11 And the sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, and Gatam, and Kenaz.11 The sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam, and Kenaz.11 엘리바스의 아들들은 데만과 오말과 스보와 가담과 그나스요
12 And Timna was concubine to Eliphaz Esau's son; and she bare to Eliphaz Amalek: these were the sons of Adah Esau's wife.12 And Eliphaz, the son of Esau, had connection with a woman named Timna, who gave birth to Amalek: all these were the children of Esau's wife Adah.12 에서의 아들 엘리바스의 첩 딤나는 아말렉을 엘리바스에게 낳았으니 이들은 에서의 아내 아다의 자손이며
13 And these are the sons of Reuel; Nahath, and Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah: these were the sons of Bashemath Esau's wife.13 And these are the sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah: they were the children of Esau's wife Basemath.13 르우엘의 아들들은 나핫과 세라와 삼마와 미사니 이들은 에서의 아내 바스맛의 자손이며
14 And these were the sons of Aholibamah, the daughter of Anah the daughter of Zibeon, Esau's wife: and she bare to Esau Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah.14 And these are the sons of Esau's wife Oholibamah, the daughter of Anah, the daughter of Zibeon: she was the mother of Jeush, Jalam, and Korah.14 시브온의 손녀 아나의 딸 에서의 아내 오홀리바마의 아들들은 이러하니 그가 여우스와 얄람과 고라를 에서에게 낳았더라
15 These were dukes of the sons of Esau: the sons of Eliphaz the firstborn son of Esau; duke Teman, duke Omar, duke Zepho, duke Kenaz,15 These were the chiefs among the sons of Esau: the sons of Eliphaz, Esau's first son: Teman, Omar, Zepho, Kenaz,15 에서 자손중 족장은 이러하니라 에서의 장자 엘리바스의 자손에는 데만 족장, 오말 족장, 스보 족장, 그나스 족장과
16 Duke Korah, duke Gatam, and duke Amalek: these are the dukes that came of Eliphaz in the land of Edom; these were the sons of Adah.16 Korah, Gatam, Amalek: all these were chiefs in the land of Edom, the offspring of Eliphaz, the seed of Adah.16 고라 족장, 가담 족장, 아말렉 족장이니 이들은 에돔 땅에 있는 엘리바스로 말미암아 나온 족장들이요 이들은 아다의 자손이며
17 And these are the sons of Reuel Esau's son; duke Nahath, duke Zerah, duke Shammah, duke Mizzah: these are the dukes that came of Reuel in the land of Edom; these are the sons of Bashemath Esau's wife.17 And these are the sons of Esau's son Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, Mizzah: these were the chiefs of Reuel in the land of Edom, the children of Esau's wife Basemath.17 에서의 아들 르우엘의 자손에는 나핫 족장, 세라 족장, 삼마 족장, 미사 족장이니 이들은 에돔 땅에 있는 르우엘로 말미암아 나온 족장들이요 이들은 에서의 아내 바스맛의 자손이며
18 And these are the sons of Aholibamah Esau's wife; duke Jeush, duke Jaalam, duke Korah: these were the dukes that came of Aholibamah the daughter of Anah, Esau's wife.18 And these are the sons of Esau's wife Oholibamah: Jeush, Jalam, and Korah: these were the chiefs who came from Esau's wife Oholibamah, daughter of Anah.18 에서의 아내 오홀리바마의 아들들은 여우스 족장, 얄람 족장, 고라 족장이니 이들은 아나의 딸이요 에서의 아내인 오홀리바마로 말미암아 나온 족장들이라
19 These are the sons of Esau, who is Edom, and these are their dukes.19 These were the sons of Esau (that is, Edom), and these were their chiefs.19 에서 곧 에돔의 자손으로서 족장 된 자들이 이러하였더라
20 These are the sons of Seir the Horite, who inhabited the land; Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah,20 These are the sons of Seir the Horite who were living in that country; Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,20 그 땅의 원거인 호리 족속 세일의 자손은 로단과 소발과 시브온과 아나와
21 And Dishon, and Ezer, and Dishan: these are the dukes of the Horites, the children of Seir in the land of Edom.21 Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan: these are the chiefs of the Horites, offspring of Seir in the land of Edom.21 디손과 에셀과 디산이니 이들은 에돔땅에 있는 세일의 자손중 호리 족속으로 말미암아 나온 족장들이요
22 And the children of Lotan were Hori and Hemam; and Lotan's sister was Timna.22 The children of Lotan were Hori and Hemam; Lotan's sister was Timna.22 로단의 자녀는 호리와 헤맘과 로단의 누이 딤나요
23 And the children of Shobal were these; Alvan, and Manahath, and Ebal, Shepho, and Onam.23 And these are the children of Shobal: Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, Shepho, and Onam.23 소발의 자녀는 알완과 마나핫과 에발과 스보와 오남이요
24 And these are the children of Zibeon; both Ajah, and Anah: this was that Anah that found the mules in the wilderness, as he fed the asses of Zibeon his father.24 And these are the children of Zibeon: Aiah and Anah; that same Anah who made the discovery of the water-springs in the waste land, when he was looking after the asses of his father Zibeon.24 시브온의 자녀는 아야와 아나며 이 아나는 그 아비 시브온의 나귀를 칠 때에 광야에서 온천을 발견하였고
25 And the children of Anah were these; Dishon, and Aholibamah the daughter of Anah.25 And these are the children of Anah: Dishon and Oholibamah his daughter.25 아나의 자녀는 디손과 오홀리바마니 오홀리바마는 아나의 딸이며
26 And these are the children of Dishon; Hemdan, and Eshban, and Ithran, and Cheran.26 These are the children of Dishon: Hemdan, Eshban, Ithran, and Keran.26 디손의 자녀는 헴단과 에스반과 이드란과 그란이요
27 The children of Ezer are these; Bilhan, and Zaavan, and Akan.27 These are the children of Ezer: Bilhan, Zaavan, and Akan.27 에셀의 자녀는 빌한과 사아완과 아간이요
28 The children of Dishan are these; Uz, and Aran.28 These are the children of Dishan: Uz and Aran.28 디산의 자녀는 우스와 아란이니
29 These are the dukes that came of the Horites; duke Lotan, duke Shobal, duke Zibeon, duke Anah,29 These were the Horite chiefs: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,29 호리 족속의 족장들은 곧 로단 족장, 소발 족장, 시브온 족장, 아나 족장,
30 Duke Dishon, duke Ezer, duke Dishan: these are the dukes that came of Hori, among their dukes in the land of Seir.30 Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan. Such were the Horite chiefs in their order in the land of Seir.30 디손 족장, 에셀 족장, 디산 족장이라 이들은 그 구역을 따라 세일 땅에 있는 호리 족속으로 말미암아 나온 족장들이었더라
31 And these are the kings that reigned in the land of Edom, before there reigned any king over the children of Israel.31 And these are the kings who were ruling in the land of Edom before there was any king over the children of Israel.31 이스라엘 자손을 다스리는 왕이 있기 전에 에돔 땅을 다스리는 왕이 이러하니라
32 And Bela the son of Beor reigned in Edom: and the name of his city was Dinhabah.32 Bela, son of Beor, was king in Edom, and the name of his chief town was Dinhabah.32 브올의 아들 벨라가 에돔의 왕이 되었으니 그 도성의 이름은 딘하바며
33 And Bela died, and Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his stead.33 At his death, Jobab, son of Zerah of Bozrah, became king in his place.33 벨라가 죽고 보스라 사람 세라의 아들 요밥이 그를 대신하여 왕이 되고
34 And Jobab died, and Husham of the land of Temani reigned in his stead.34 And at the death of Jobab, Husham, from the country of the Temanites, became king in his place.34 요밥이 죽고 데만 족속의 땅의 후삼이 그를 대신하여 왕이 되고
35 And Husham died, and Hadad the son of Bedad, who smote Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Avith.35 And at the death of Husham, Hadad, son of Bedad, who overcame the Midianites in the field of Moab, became king; his chief town was named Avith.35 후삼이 죽고 브닷의 아들 곧 모압 들에서 미디안 족속을 친 하닷이 그를 대신하여 왕이 되니 그 도성 이름은 아윗이며
36 And Hadad died, and Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his stead.36 And at the death of Hadad, Samlah of Masrekah became king.36 하닷이 죽고 마스레가의 삼라가 그를 대신하여 왕이 되고
37 And Samlah died, and Saul of Rehoboth by the river reigned in his stead.37 And at the death of Samlah, Shaul of Rehoboth by the River became king in his place.37 삼라가 죽고 유브라데 하숫가 르호봇의 사울이 그를 대신하여 왕이 되고
38 And Saul died, and Baalhanan the son of Achbor reigned in his stead.38 And at the death of Shaul, Baal-hanan, son of Achbor, became king.38 사울이 죽고 악볼의 아들 바알하난이 그를 대신하여 왕이 되고
39 And Baalhanan the son of Achbor died, and Hadar reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Pau; and his wife's name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab.39 And at the death of Baal-hanan, Hadar became king in his place; his chief town was named Pau, and his wife's name was Mehetabel; she was the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Me-zahab.39 악볼의 아들 바알하난이 죽고 하달이 그를 대신하여 왕이 되니 그 도성 이름은 바우며 그 처의 이름은 므헤다벨이니 마드렛의 딸이요 메사합의 손녀더라
40 And these are the names of the dukes that came of Esau, according to their families, after their places, by their names; duke Timnah, duke Alvah, duke Jetheth,40 These are the names of the chiefs of Esau in the order of their families and their places: Timna, Alvah, Jetheth,40 에서에게서 나온 족장들의 이름은 그 종족과 거처와 이름대로 이러하니 딤나 족장, 알와 족장, 여뎃 족장,
41 Duke Aholibamah, duke Elah, duke Pinon,41 Oholibamah, Elah, Pinon,41 오홀리바마 족장, 엘라 족장, 비논 족장,
