14 And they said unto them, We cannotㆍdo this thing, to give our sister to one that is uncircumcised; for that were a reproach unto us:[x]MKJV: And they said to them, We cannot do this thing, to give our sister to one that is uncircumcised. For it [is] a reproach to us. 15 But in this will we consent unto you: If ye will be as we be, that every male of you be circumcised;[x]MKJV: But in this we will agree with you, if you will be as we [are], that every male of you be circumcised, BBE: But on this condition only will we come to an agreement with you: if every male among you becomes like us and undergoes circumcision; KAV: 그러나 이같이 하면 너희에게 동의하리라. 만일 너희 가운데 모든 남자가 할례를 받고 너희가 우리같이 되면 TSK: But in this will we consent unto you: If ye will be as we be, that every male of you be circumcised;: ga 4:12

19 And the young mandeferred not to do the thing, because he had delight in Jacob'sdaughter: and he was more honourable than all the house of his father.[x]MKJV: And the young man did not hesitate to do the thing, because he had delight in Jacob's daughter. And he [was] more honorable than all the house of his father. BBE: And without loss of time the young man did as they said, because he had delight in Jacob's daughter, and he was the noblest of his father's house. 21 These menarepeaceablewith us; therefore let them dwell in the land, and trade therein; for the land, behold, it islargeenough for them; let us take their daughters to us for wives, and let us give them our daughters.[x]MKJV: These men [are] at peace with us. Therefore let them live in the land, and trade in it. For behold, the land [is] large enough for them. Let us take their daughters to us for wives, and let us give them our daughters. 21 It is the desire of these men to be at peace with us; let them then go on living in this country and doing trade here, for the country is wide open before them; let us take their daughters as wives and let us give them our daughters.

22 But these men will make an agreement with us to go on living with us and to become one people, only on the condition that every male among us undergoes circumcision as they have done.

23Shall not their cattle and their substance and every beast of theirs be ours? only let us consent unto them, and they will dwell with us.[x]MKJV: [Shall] not their cattle and their substance and every animal of theirs be ours? Only let us agree with them, and they will live with us. BBE: Then will not their cattle and their goods and all their beasts be ours? so let us come to an agreement with them so that they may go on living with us. 30 And Jacobsaid to Simeon and Levi, Ye have troubled me to make me to stink among the inhabitants of the land, among the Canaanites and the Perizzites: and I beingfew in number, they shall gather themselves together against me, and slay me; and I shall be destroyed, I and my house.[x]MKJV: And Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, You have troubled me, to make me stink among those who live in the land, among the Canaanites and the Perizzites.
