5 In the day when the Lord God made earth and heaven there were no plants of the field on the earth, and no grass had come up: for the Lord God had not sent rain on the earth and there was no man to do work on the land.

16 And the Lord God gave the man orders, saying, You may freely take of the fruit of every tree of the garden:

17 But of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you may not take; for on the day when you take of it, death will certainly come to you.
17 선악을 알게하는 나무의 실과는 먹지 말라 네가 먹는 날에는 정녕 죽으리라 하시니라
18 And the LORDGodsaid, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.[x]MKJV: And the LORD God said, [It is] not good that the man should be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him. BBE: And the Lord God said, It is not good for the man to be by himself: I will make one like himself as a help to him KAV: ¶ {주} [하나님]께서 이르시되, 남자가 홀로 있는 것이 좋지 못하니 내가 그를 위하여 합당한 조력자를 만들리라, 하시니라. 19 And out of the ground the LORDGodformed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and broughtthem unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adamcalled every livingcreature, thatwas the name thereof.[x]MKJV: And out of the ground the LORD God formed every animal of the field and every fowl of the air, and brought [them] to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called [each] living creature, that [was] its name. BBE: And from the earth the Lord God made every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and took them to the man to see what names he would give them: and whatever name he gave to any living thing, that was its name. 20 And Adamgavenames to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.[x]MKJV: And Adam gave names to all the cattle, and to the birds of the air, and to every animal of the field. But there was not found a suitable helper for Adam. BBE: And the man gave names to all cattle and to the birds of the air and to every beast of the field; but Adam had no one like himself as a help. 20 And the man gave names to all cattle and to the birds of the air and to every beast of the field; but Adam had no one like himself as a help.

21 And the LORDGodcaused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he tookone of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;[x]MKJV: And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept. And He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh underneath. 22 And the bone which the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman, and took her to the man.
