1 And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground;1 And at nightfall the two angels came to Sodom; and Lot was seated at the way into the town: and when he saw them he got up and came before them, falling down on his face to the earth.1 날이 저물 때에 그 두 천사가 소돔에 이르니 마침 롯이 소돔 성문에 앉았다가 그들을 보고 일어나 영접하고 땅에 엎드리어 절하여
2 And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant's house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night.2 And he said, My masters, come now into your servant's house and take your rest there for the night, and let your feet be washed; and early in the morning you may go on your way. And they said, Not so, but we will take our night's rest in the street.2 가로되 내 주여 돌이켜 종의 집으로 들어와 발을 씻고 주무시고 일찌기 일어나 갈 길을 가소서 그들이 가로되 아니라 우리가 거리에서 경야하리라
3 And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat.3 But he made his request more strongly, so they went with him into his house; and he got food ready for them, and made unleavened bread, of which they took.3 롯이 간청하매 그제야 돌이켜서 그 집으로 들어 오는지라 롯이 그들을 위하여 식탁을 베풀고 무교병을 구우니 그들이 먹으니라
4 But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter:4 But before they had gone to bed, the men of the town, all the men of Sodom, came round the house, young and old, from every part of the town;4 그들의 눕기 전에 그 성 사람 곧 소돔 백성들이 무론 노소하고 사방에서 다 모여 그 집을 에워싸고
5 And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them.5 And crying out to Lot, they said, Where are the men who came to your house this night? Send them out to us, so that we may take our pleasure with them.5 롯을 부르고 그에게 이르되 이 저녁에 네게 온 사람이 어디 있느냐 이끌어내라 우리가 그들을 상관하리라
6 And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him,6 And Lot went out to them in the doorway, shutting the door after him.6 롯이 문밖의 무리에게로 나가서 뒤로 문을 닫고
7 And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.7 And he said, My brothers, do not this evil.7 이르되 청하노니 내 형제들아 이런 악을 행치 말라
8 Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing ㆍ; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.8 See now, I have two unmarried daughters; I will send them out to you so that you may do to them whatever seems good to you: only do nothing to these men, for this is why they have come under the shade of my roof.8 내게 남자를 가까이 아니한 두 딸이 있노라 청컨대 내가 그들을 너희에게로 이끌어내리니 너희 눈에 좋은대로 그들에게 행하고 이 사람들은 내 집에 들어왔은즉 이 사람들에게는 아무 짓도 하지말라
9 And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door.9 And they said, Give way there. This one man, they said, came here from a strange country, and will he now be our judge? now we will do worse to you than to them; and pushing violently against Lot, they came near to get the door broken in.9 그들이 가로되 너는 물러나라 또 가로되 이 놈이 들어와서 우거하면서 우리의 법관이 되려 하는도다 이제 우리가 그들보다 너를 더 해하리라 하고 롯을 밀치며 가까이 나아와서 그 문을 깨치려 하는지라
10 But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut to the door.10 But the men put out their hands and took Lot into the house to them, shutting the door again.10 그 사람들이 손을 내밀어 롯을 집으로 끌어 들이고 문을 닫으며
11 And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door.11 But the men who were outside the door they made blind, all of them, small and great, so that they were tired out with looking for the door.11 문밖의 무리로 무론 대소하고 그 눈을 어둡게 하니 그들이 문을 찾느라고 곤비하였더라
12 And the men said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place:12 Then the men said to Lot, Are there any others of your family here? sons-in-law or sons or daughters, take them all out of this place;12 그 사람들이 롯에게 이르되 이 외에 네게 속한 자가 또 있느냐 네 사위나 자녀나 성중에 네게 속한 자들을 다 성밖으로 이끌어내라
13 For we will destroy ㆍ this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to destroy it.13 For we are about to send destruction on this place, because a great outcry against them has come to the ears of the Lord; and the Lord has sent us to put an end to the town.13 그들에 대하여 부르짖음이 여호와 앞에 크므로 여호와께서 우리로 이곳을 멸하러 보내셨나니 우리가 멸하리라
14 And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which married his daughters, and said, Up, get you out of this place; for the LORD will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law.14 And Lot went out and said to his sons-in-law, who were married to his daughters, Come, let us go out of this place, for the Lord is about to send destruction on the town. But his sons-in-law did not take him seriously.14 롯이 나가서 그 딸들과 정혼한 사위들에게 고하여 이르되 여호와께서 이 성을 멸하실터이니 너희는 일어나 이곳에서 떠나라 하되 그 사위들이 농담으로 여겼더라
15 And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.15 And when morning came, the angels did all in their power to make Lot go, saying, Get up quickly and take your wife and your two daughters who are here, and go, for fear that you come to destruction in the punishment of the town.15 동틀 때에 천사가 롯을 재촉하여 가로되 일어나 여기 있는 네 아내와 두 딸을 이끌라 이 성의 죄악 중에 함께 멸망할까 하노라
16 And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the LORD being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city.16 But while he was waiting, the men took him and his wife and his daughters by the hand, for the Lord had mercy on them, and put them outside the town.16 그러나 롯이 지체하매 그 사람들이 롯의 손과 그 아내의 손과 두 딸의 손을 잡아 인도하여 성밖에 두니 여호와께서 그에게 인자를 더하심이었더라
17 And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.17 And when they had put them out, he said, Go for your life, without looking back or waiting in the lowland; go quickly to the mountain or you will come to destruction.17 그 사람들이 그들을 밖으로 이끌어낸 후에 이르되 도망하여 생명을 보존하라 돌아보거나 들에 머무르거나 하지 말고 산으로 도망하여 멸망함을 면하라
18 And Lot said unto them, Oh, not so, my Lord:18 And Lot said to them, Not so, O my Lord;18 롯이 그들에게 이르되 내 주여 그리 마옵소서
19 Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast showed unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die:19 See now, your servant has had grace in your eyes and great is your mercy in keeping my life from destruction, but I am not able to get as far as the mountain before evil overtakes me and death;19 종이 주께 은혜를 얻었고 주께서 큰 인자를 내게 베푸사 내 생명을 구원하시오나 내가 도망하여 산까지 갈 수 없나이다 두렵건대 재앙을 만나 죽을까 하나이다
20 Behold now, this city is near to flee unto, and it is a little one: Oh, let me escape thither, (is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live.20 This town, now, is near, and it is a little one: O, let me go there (is it not a little one?) so that my life may be safe.20 보소서 저 성은 도망하기 가깝고 작기도 하오니 나로 그곳에 도망하게 하소서 이는 작은 성이 아니니이까 내 생명이 보존되리이다
21 And he said unto him, See, I have accepted thee concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow this city, for the which thou hast spoken.21 And he said, See, I have given you your request in this one thing more: I will not send destruction on this town.21 그가 그에게 이르되 내가 이 일에도 네 소원을 들었은즉 너의 말하는 성을 멸하지 아니하리니
22 Haste thee, escape thither; for I cannot do any thing till thou be come thither. Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar.22 Go there quickly, for I am not able to do anything till you have come there. For this reason, the town was named Zoar.22 그리로 속히 도망하라 네가 거기 이르기까지는 내가 아무 일도 행할 수 없노라 하였더라 그러므로 그 성 이름을 소알이라 불렀더라
23 The sun was risen upon the earth when Lot entered into Zoar.23 The sun was up when Lot came to Zoar.23 롯이 소알에 들어갈 때에 해가 돋았더라
24 Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;24 Then the Lord sent fire and flaming smoke raining down from heaven on Sodom and Gomorrah.24 여호와께서 하늘 곧 여호와에게로서 유황과 불을 비 같이 소돔과 고모라에 내리사
25 And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.25 And he sent destruction on those towns, with all the lowland and all the people of those towns and every green thing in the land.25 그 성들과 온 들과 성에 거하는 모든 백성과 땅에 난 것을 다 엎어 멸하셨더라
26 But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.26 But Lot's wife, looking back, became a pillar of salt.26 롯의 아내는 뒤를 돌아 본고로 소금 기둥이 되었더라
27 And Abraham gat up early in the morning to the place where he stood before the LORD:27 And Abraham got up early in the morning and went to the place where he had been talking with the Lord:27 아브라함이 그 아침에 일찌기 일어나 여호와의 앞에 섰던 곳에 이르러
28 And he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain, and beheld, and, lo, the smoke of the country went up as the smoke of a furnace.28 And looking in the direction of Sodom and Gomorrah and the lowland, he saw the smoke of the land going up like the smoke of an oven.28 소돔과 고모라와 그 온 들을 향하여 눈을 들어 연기가 옹기점 연기 같이 치밀음을 보았더라
29 And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in the which Lot dwelt.29 So it came about that when God sent destruction on the towns of the lowland, he kept his word to Abraham, and sent Lot safely away when he put an end to the towns where he was living.29 하나님이 들의 성들을 멸하실 때 곧 롯의 거하는 성을 엎으실 때에 아브라함을 생각하사 롯을 그 엎으시는 중에서 내어 보내셨더라
30 And Lot went up out of Zoar, and dwelt in the mountain, and his two daughters with him; for he feared to dwell in Zoar: and he dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters.30 Then Lot went up out of Zoar to the mountain, and was living there with his two daughters, for fear kept him from living in Zoar: and he and his daughters made their living-place in a hole in the rock.30 롯이 소알에 거하기를 두려워하여 두 딸과 함께 소알에서 나와 산에 올라 거하되 그 두 딸과 함께 굴에 거하였더니
31 And the firstborn said unto the younger, Our father is old, and there is not a man in the earth to come in unto us after the manner of all the earth:31 And the older daughter said to her sister, Our father is old, and there is no man to be a husband to us in the natural way:31 큰 딸이 작은 딸에게 이르되 우리 아버지는 늙으셨고 이 땅에는 세상의 도리를 좇아 우리의 배필 될 사람이 없으니
32 Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.32 Come, let us give our father much wine, and we will go into his bed, so that we may have offspring by our father,32 우리가 우리 아버지에게 술을 마시우고 동침하여 우리 아버지로 말미암아 인종을 전하자 하고
33 And they made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.33 And that night they made their father take much wine; and the older daughter went into his bed; and he had no knowledge of when she went in or when she went away.33 그 밤에 그들이 아비에게 술을 마시우고 큰 딸이 들어가서 그 아비와 동침하니라 그러나 그 아비는 그 딸의 눕고 일어나는 것을 깨닫지 못하였더라
34 And it came to pass on the morrow, that the firstborn said unto the younger, Behold, I lay yesternight with my father: let us make him drink wine this night also; and go thou in, and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.34 And on the day after, the older daughter said to the younger, Last night I was with my father; let us make him take much wine this night again, and do you go to him, so that we may have offspring by our father.34 이튿날에 큰 딸이 작은 딸에게 이르되 어제밤에는 내가 우리 아버지와 동침하였으니 오늘밤에도 우리가 아버지에게 술을 마시우고 네가 들어가 동침하고 우리가 아버지로 말미암아 인종을 전하자 하고
35 And they made their father drink wine that night also: and the younger arose, and lay with him; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.35 And that night again they made their father take much wine; and the younger daughter went into his bed; and he had no knowledge of when she went in or when she went away.35 이 밤에도 그들이 아비에게 술을 마시우고 작은 딸이 일어나 아비와 동침하니라 그러나 아비는 그 딸의 눕고 일어나는 것을 깨닫지 못하였더라
36 Thus were both the daughters of Lot with child by their father.36 And so the two daughters of Lot were with child by their father.36 롯의 두 딸이 아비로 말미암아 잉태하고
37 And the firstborn bare a son, and called his name Moab: the same is the father of the Moabites unto this day.37 And the older daughter had a son, and she gave him the name Moab: he is the father of the Moabites to this day.37 큰 딸은 아들을 낳아 이름을 모압이라 하였으니 오늘날 모압 족속의 조상이요
38 And the younger, she also bare a son, and called his name Benammi: the same is the father of the children of Ammon unto this day.38 And the younger had a son and gave him the name Ben-ammi: from him come the children of Ammon to this day.38 작은 딸도 아들을 낳아 이름을 벤암미라 하였으니 오늘날 암몬 족속의 조상이었더라
