1 And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;1 Now the Lord came to him by the holy tree of Mamre, when he was seated in the doorway of his tent in the middle of the day;1 여호와께서 마므레 상수리 수풀 근처에서 아브라함에게 나타나시니라 오정 즈음에 그가 장막 문에 앉았다가
2 And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,2 And lifting up his eyes, he saw three men before him; and seeing them, he went quickly to them from the door of the tent, and went down on his face to the earth;2 눈을 들어 본즉 사람 셋이 맞은편에 섰는지라 그가 그들을 보자 곧 장막 문에서 달려나가 영접하며 몸을 땅에 굽혀
3 And said, My Lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant:3 And said, My Lord, if now I have grace in your eyes, do not go away from your servant:3 가로되 내 주여 내가 주께 은혜를 입었사오면 원컨대 종을 떠나 지나가지 마옵시고
4 Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree:4 Let me get water for washing your feet, and take your rest under the tree:4 물을 조금 가져오게 하사 당신들의 발을 씻으시고 나무 아래서 쉬소서
5 And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for therefore are ye come to your servant. And they said, So do, as thou hast said.5 And let me get a bit of bread to keep up your strength, and after that you may go on your way: for this is why you have come to your servant. And they said, Let it be so.5 내가 떡을 조금 가져오리니 당신들의 마음을 쾌활케 하신 후에 지나가소서 당신들이 종에게 오셨음이니이다 그들이 가로되 네 말대로 그리하라
6 And Abraham hastened into the tent unto Sarah, and said, Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes upon the hearth.6 Then Abraham went quickly into the tent, and said to Sarah, Get three measures of meal straight away and make cakes.6 아브라함이 급히 장막에 들어가 사라에게 이르러 이르되 속히 고운 가루 세 스아를 가져다가 반죽하여 떡을 만들라 하고
7 And Abraham ran unto the herd, and fetched a calf ㆍ tender and good, and gave it unto a young man; and he hasted to dress it.7 And running to the herd, he took a young ox, soft and fat, and gave it to the servant and he quickly made it ready;7 아브라함이 또 짐승 떼에 달려가서 기름지고 좋은 송아지를 취하여 하인에게 주니 그가 급히 요리한지라
8 And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat.8 And he took butter and milk and the young ox which he had made ready and put it before them, waiting by them under the tree while they took food.8 아브라함이 뻐터와 우유와 하인이 요리한 송아지를 가져다가 그들의 앞에 진설하고 나무 아래 모셔 서매 그들이 먹으니라
9 And they said unto him, Where is Sarah thy wife? And he said, Behold, in the tent.9 And they said to him, Where is Sarah your wife? And he said, She is in the tent.9 그들이 아브라함에게 이르되 네 아내 사라가 어디 있느냐 대답하되 장막에 있나이다
10 And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him.10 And he said, I will certainly come back to you in the spring, and Sarah your wife will have a son. And his words came to the ears of Sarah who was at the back of the tent-door.10 그가 가라사대 기한이 이를 때에 내가 정녕 네게로 돌아오리니 네 아내 사라에게 아들이 있으리라 하시니 사라가 그 뒤 장막 문에서 들었더라
11 Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women.11 Now Abraham and Sarah were very old, and Sarah was past the time for giving birth.11 아브라함과 사라가 나이 많아 늙었고 사라의 경수는 끊어졌는지라
12 Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?12 And Sarah, laughing to herself, said, Now that I am used up am I still to have pleasure, my husband himself being old?12 사라가 속으로 웃고 이르되 내가 노쇠하였고 내 주인도 늙었으니 내게 어찌 낙이 있으리요
13 And the LORD said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old?13 And the Lord said, Why was Sarah laughing and saying, Is it possible for me, being old, to give birth to a child?13 여호와께서 아브라함에게 이르시되 사라가 왜 웃으며 이르기를 내가 늙었거늘 어떻게 아들을 낳으리요 하느냐
14 Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.14 Is there any wonder which the Lord is not able to do? At the time I said, in the spring, I will come back to you, and Sarah will have a child.14 여호와께 능치 못한 일이 있겠느냐 기한이 이를 때에 내가 네게로 돌아오리니 사라에게 아들이 있으리라
15 Then Sarah denied, saying, I laughed not; for she was afraid. And he said, Nay; but thou didst laugh.15 Then Sarah said, I was not laughing; for she was full of fear. And he said, No, but you were laughing.15 사라가 두려워서 승인치 아니하여 가로되 내가 웃지 아니하였나이다 가라사대 아니라 네가 웃었느니라
16 And the men rose up from thence, and looked toward Sodom: and Abraham went with them to bring them on the way.16 And the men went on from there in the direction of Sodom; and Abraham went with them on their way.16 그 사람들이 거기서 일어나서 소돔으로 향하고 아브라함은 그들을 전송하러 함께 나가니라
17 And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do;17 And the Lord said, Am I to keep back from Abraham the knowledge of what I do;17 여호와께서 가라사대 나의 하려는 것을 아브라함에게 숨기겠느냐
18 Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?18 Seeing that Abraham will certainly become a great and strong nation, and his name will be used by all the nations of the earth as a blessing?18 아브라함은 강대한 나라가 되고 천하 만민은 그를 인하여 복을 받게 될 것이 아니냐
19 For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.19 For I have made him mine so that he may give orders to his children and those of his line after him, to keep the ways of the Lord, to do what is good and right: so that the Lord may do to Abraham as he has said.19 내가 그로 그 자식과 권속에게 명하여 여호와의 도를 지켜 의와 공도를 행하게 하려고 그를 택하였나니 이는 나 여호와가 아브라함에게 대하여 말한 일을 이루려 함이니라
20 And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous;20 And the Lord said, Because the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is very great, and their sin is very evil,20 여호와께서 또 가라사대 소돔과 고모라에 대한 부르짖음이 크고 그 죄악이 심히 중하니
21 I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.21 I will go down now, and see if their acts are as bad as they seem from the outcry which has come to me; and if they are not, I will see.21 내가 이제 내려가서 그 모든 행한 것이 과연 내게 들린 부르짖음과 같은지 그렇지 않은지 내가 보고 알려하노라
22 And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the LORD.22 And the men, turning from that place, went on to Sodom: but Abraham was still waiting before the Lord.22 그 사람들이 거기서 떠나 소돔으로 향하여 가고 아브라함은 여호와 앞에 그대로 섰더니
23 And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked?23 And Abraham came near, and said, Will you let destruction come on the upright with the sinners?23 가까이 나아가 가로되 주께서 의인을 악인과 함께 멸하시려나이까
24 Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein?24 If by chance there are fifty upright men in the town, will you give the place to destruction and not have mercy on it because of the fifty upright men?24 그 성중에 의인 오십이 있을찌라도 주께서 그 곳을 멸하시고 그 오십 의인을 위하여 용서치 아니하시리이까
25 That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?25 Let such a thing be far from you, to put the upright to death with the sinner: will not the judge of all the earth do right?25 주께서 이같이 하사 의인을 악인과 함께 죽이심은 불가하오며 의인과 악인을 균등히하심도 불가하니이다 세상을 심판하시는 이가 공의를 행하실 것이 아니니이까
26 And the LORD said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.26 And the Lord said, If there are fifty upright men in the town, I will have mercy on it because of them.26 여호와께서 가라사대 내가 만일 소돔 성중에서 의인 오십을 찾으면 그들을 위하여 온 지경을 용서하리라
27 And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord, which am but dust and ashes:27 And Abraham answering said, Truly, I who am only dust, have undertaken to put my thoughts before the Lord:27 아브라함이 말씀하여 가로되 티끌과 같은 나라도 감히 주께 고하나이다
28 Peradventure there shall lack five of the fifty righteous: wilt thou destroy all the city for lack of five? And he said, If I find there forty and five, I will not destroy it.28 If by chance there are five less than fifty upright men, will you give up all the town to destruction because of these five? And he said, I will not give it to destruction if there are forty-five.28 오십 의인 중에 오인이 부족할 것이면 그 오인 부족함을 인하여 온 성을 멸하시리이까 가라사대 내가 거기서 사십 오인을 찾으면 멸하지 아니하리라
29 And he spake unto him yet again, and said, Peradventure there shall be forty found there. And he said, I will not do it for forty's sake.29 And again he said to him, By chance there may be forty there. And he said, I will not do it if there are forty.29 아브라함이 또 고하여 가로되 거기서 사십인을 찾으시면 어찌 하시려나이까 가라사대 사십인을 인하여 멸하지 아니하리라
30 And he said unto him, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak: Peradventure there shall thirty be found there. And he said, I will not do it, if I find thirty there.30 And he said, Let not the Lord be angry with me if I say, What if there are thirty there? And he said, I will not do it if there are thirty.30 아브라함이 가로되 내 주여 노하지 마옵시고 말씀하게 하옵소서 거기서 삼십인을 찾으시면 어찌 하시려나이까 가라사대 내가 거기서 삼십인을 찾으면 멸하지 아니하리라
31 And he said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord: Peradventure there shall be twenty found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for twenty's sake.31 And he said, See now, I have undertaken to put my thoughts before the Lord: what if there are twenty there? And he said, I will have mercy because of the twenty.31 아브라함이 또 가로되 내가 감히 내 주께 고하나이다 거기서 이십인을 찾으시면 어찌 하시려나이까 가라사대 내가 이십인을 인하여 멸하지 아니하리라
32 And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten's sake.32 And he said, O let not the Lord be angry and I will say only one word more: by chance there may be ten there. And he said, I will have mercy because of the ten.32 아브라함이 또 가로되 주는 노하지 마옵소서 내가 이번만 더 말씀하리이다 거기서 십인을 찾으시면 어찌 하시려나이까 가라사대 내가 십인을 인하여도 멸하지 아니하리라
33 And the LORD went his way, as soon as he had left communing with Abraham: and Abraham returned unto his place.33 And the Lord went on his way when his talk with Abraham was ended, and Abraham went back to his place.33 여호와께서 아브라함과 말씀을 마치시고 즉시 가시니 아브라함도 자기 곳으로 돌아갔더라
