7 And there was a strife between the herdmen of Abram'scattle and the herdmen of Lot'scattle: and the Canaanite and the Perizzitedwelled then in the land.[x]MKJV: And there was strife between the herdsmen of Abram's cattle and the herdsmen of Lot's cattle. And the Canaanite and the Perizzite lived then in the land. 8 Then Abram said to Lot, Let there be no argument between me and you, and between my herdmen and your herdmen, for we are brothers.

9Is not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left.[x]MKJV: [Is] not the whole land before you? 10 And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the LORDdestroyedSodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar.[x]MKJV: And Lot lifted up his eyes and saw all the circuit of Jordan, that it [was] all well watered (before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah,) like the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt as you come to Zoar. 12 Abram went on living in the land of Canaan, and Lot went to the lowland towns, moving his tent as far as Sodom.

13 Now the men of Sodom were evil, and great sinners before the Lord.

14 And the LORDsaid unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:[x]MKJV: And after Lot was separated from him, the LORD said to Abram, Lift up your eyes now and look from the place where you are northward and southward, and eastward and westward. 16 And I will make your children like the dust of the earth, so that if the dust of the earth may be numbered, then will your children be numbered.

17Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee.[x]MKJV: Rise up and walk through the land, in the length of it and in the breadth of it, for I will give it to you. 18 Then Abram removed histent, and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and built there an altar unto the LORD.[x]MKJV: And Abram moved [his] tent and came and lived in the oaks of Mamre, which [is] in Hebron. And he built an altar to the LORD there. BBE: And Abram, moving his tent, came and made his living-place by the holy tree of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and made an altar there to the Lord. 18 이에 아브람이 장막을 옮겨 헤브론에 있는 마므레 상수리 수풀에 이르러 거하며 거기서 여호와를 위하여 단을 쌓았더라
