Jerusalem like an unfruitful vine.

| 3 Shall wood be taken thereof to do any work? or will men take a pin of it to hang any vessel thereon? | 3 Will its wood be used for any work? do men make of it a pin for hanging any vessel on? | 3 그 나무를 가지고 무엇을 제조할 수 있겠느냐 그것으로 무슨 그릇을 걸 못을 만들 수 있겠느냐 |
| 4 Behold, it is cast into the fire for fuel; the fire devoureth both the ends of it, and the midst of it is burned. Is it meet for any work? | 4 See, it is put into the fire for burning: the fire has made a meal of its two ends and the middle part of it is burned; is it good for any work? | 4 불에 던질 화목이 될 뿐이라 불이 그 두 끝을 사르고 그 가운데도 태웠으면 제조에 무슨 소용이 있겠느냐 |
| 5 Behold, when it was whole, it was meet for no work: how much less shall it be meet yet for any work, when the fire hath devoured it, and it is burned? | 5 Truly, before it was cut down, it was not used for any purpose: how much less, when the fire has made a meal of it and it is burned, will it be made into anything? | 5 그것이 온전할 때에도 아무 제조에 합당치 않았거든 하물며 불에 살라지고 탄 후에 어찌 제조에 합당하겠느냐 |
| 6 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; As the vine tree among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so will I give the inhabitants of Jerusalem. | 6 For this cause the Lord has said: Like the vine-tree among the trees of the woods which I have given to the fire for burning, so will I give the people of Jerusalem. | 6 그러므로 주 여호와 내가 말하노라 내가 수풀 가운데 포도나무를 불에 던질 화목이 되게 한 것 같이 내가 예루살렘 거민도 그같이 할찌라 |
| 7 And I will set my face against them; they shall go out from one fire, and another fire shall devour them; and ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I set my face against them. | 7 And my face will be turned against them; and though they have come out of the fire they will be burned up by it; and it will be clear to you that I am the Lord when my face is turned against them. | 7 내가 그들을 대적한즉 그들이 그 불에서 나와도 불이 그들을 사르리니 내가 그들을 대적할 때에 너희가 나를 여호와인줄 알리라 |
