1 And after that, Moses and Aaron came to Pharaoh, and said, The Lord, the God of Israel, says, Let my people go so that they may keep a feast to me in the waste land.

2 And Pharaohsaid, Who is the LORD, that I should obey his voice to let Israelgo? 2 And Pharaoh said, Who is the Lord, to whose voice I am to give ear and let Israel go? I have no knowledge of the Lord and I will not let Israel go.
2 바로가 가로되 여호와가 누구관대 내가 그 말을 듣고 이스라엘을 보내겠느냐 나는 여호와를 알지 못하니 이스라엘도 보내지 아니하리라
3 And they said, The God of the Hebrews hath met with us: let us go, we pray thee, threedaysjourney into the desert, and sacrifice unto the LORD our God; lest he fall upon us with pestilence, or with the sword.[x]MKJV: And they said, The God of the Hebrews has met with us. Let us go, we pray you, three days' journey into the desert and sacrifice to the LORD our God, lest He fall upon us with plague or with the sword. BBE: And they said, The God of the Hebrews has come to us: let us then go three days' journey into the waste land to make an offering to the Lord our God, so that he may not send death on us by disease or the sword. 4 And the king of Egyptsaid unto them, Wherefore do ye, Moses and Aaron, let the people from their works? get you unto your burdens.[x]MKJV: And the king of Egypt said to them, Moses and Aaron, Why do you keep the people from their work? Get to your burdens! BBE: And the king of Egypt said to them, Why do you, Moses and Aaron, take the people away from their work? get back to your work. 4 And the king of Egypt said to them, Why do you, Moses and Aaron, take the people away from their work? get back to your work.

5 And Pharaoh said, Truly, the people of the land are increasing in number, and you are keeping them back from their work.

6 The same day Pharaoh gave orders to the overseers and those who were responsible for the work, saying,

7 Ye shall no moregive the peoplestraw to makebrick, as heretoforeㆍ: let them go and gatherstraw for themselves.[x]MKJV: You shall no more give the people straw to make brick, as before. Let them go and gather straw for themselves. BBE: Give these men no more dry stems for their brick-making as you have been doing; let them go and get the material for themselves. 7 Give these men no more dry stems for their brick-making as you have been doing; let them go and get the material for themselves.
7 너희는 백성에게 다시는 벽돌 소용의 짚을 전과 같이 주지 말고 그들로 가서 스스로 줍게 하라
8 And the tale of the bricks, which they did makeheretoforeㆍ, ye shall lay upon them; ye shall not diminishought thereof: for they beidle; therefore they cry, saying, Let us goandsacrifice to our God.[x]MKJV: And you shall lay upon them the number of bricks which they have made before now. You shall not take away from it. For they are idle; therefore they cry, saying, Let us go sacrifice to our God. BBE: But see that they make the same number of bricks as before, and no less: for they have no love for work; and so they are crying out and saying, Let us go and make an offering to our God. KAV: 또 그들이 지금까지 만든 벽돌의 수효대로 그들에게 부과하고 거기서 조금도 줄이지 말라. 그들이 게으르므로 소리 질러 이르기를, 우리가 가서 우리 [하나님]께 희생물을 드리자, 하나니 TSK: ye shall lay: ps 106:41
8 But see that they make the same number of bricks as before, and no less: for they have no love for work; and so they are crying out and saying, Let us go and make an offering to our God.
8 또 그들의 전에 만든 벽돌 수효대로 그들로 만들게 하고 감하지 말라 그들이 게으르므로 소리질러 이르기를 우리가 가서 우리 하나님께 희생을 드리자 하나니
9 Let there more work be laid upon the men, that they may labour therein; and let them not regardvainwords.[x]MKJV: Let more work be laid upon the men, and let them labor in it. And do not let them regard vain words. BBE: Give the men harder work, and see that they do it; let them not give attention to false words. 9 Give the men harder work, and see that they do it; let them not give attention to false words.

BBE: And the overseers of the people and their responsible men went out and said to the people, Pharaoh says, I will give you no more dry stems. 10 And the overseers of the people and their responsible men went out and said to the people, Pharaoh says, I will give you no more dry stems.

11Go ye, get you strawwhere ye can find it: yet not ought of your work shall be diminished.[x]MKJV: Go and get straw where you can find it, yet not any of your work shall be taken away. 12 So the people were scattered abroad throughout all the land of Egypt to gatherstubble instead of straw.[x]MKJV: So the people were scattered through all the land of Egypt, to gather stubble for straw. 12 So the people were sent in all directions through the land of Egypt to get dry grass for stems.

13 And the overseers went on driving them and saying, Do your full day's work as before when there were dry stems for you.

14 And the officers of the children of Israel, which Pharaoh'staskmasters had set over them, were beaten, anddemanded, Wherefore have ye not fulfilled your task in making brick both yesterday and to day, as heretofore?[x]MKJV: And the overseers of the sons of Israel, whom Pharaoh's taskmasters had set over them, were beaten. [And they] demanded, Why have you not completed your task in making brick, both yesterday and today, as you did before? BBE: And the responsible men of the children of Israel, whom Pharaoh's overseers had put over them, were given blows, and they said to them, Why have you not done your regular work, in making bricks as before? 14 And the responsible men of the children of Israel, whom Pharaoh's overseers had put over them, were given blows, and they said to them, Why have you not done your regular work, in making bricks as before?
14 바로의 간역자들이 자기들의 세운바 이스라엘 자손의 패장들을 때리며 가로되 너희가 어찌하여 어제와 오늘에 만드는 벽돌의 수효를 전과 같이 채우지 아니하였느냐 하니라
15 Then the officers of the children of Israelcame and cried unto Pharaoh, saying, Wherefore dealest thou thus with thy servants?[x]MKJV: And the overseers of the sons of Israel came and cried to Pharaoh, saying, Why do you deal so with your servants? BBE: Then the responsible men of the children of Israel came to Pharaoh, protesting and saying, Why are you acting in this way to your servants? KAV: ¶ 이에 이스라엘 자손의 관리들이 가서 파라오에게 부르짖으며 이르되, 왕은 어찌하여 왕의 종들을 이같이 대하시나이까?
15 Then the responsible men of the children of Israel came to Pharaoh, protesting and saying, Why are you acting in this way to your servants?
15 이스라엘 자손의 패장들이 가서 바로에게 호소하여 가로되 왕은 어찌하여 종들에게 이같이 하시나이까
16 There is no strawgiven unto thy servants, and they say to us, Makebrick: and, behold, thy servantsarebeaten; but the faultis in thine own people.[x]MKJV: There is no straw given to your servants, and they say to us, Make bricks! And behold, your servants [are] beaten, but the fault is in your own people. BBE: They give us no dry stems and they say to us, Make bricks: and they give your servants blows; but it is your people who are in the wrong. KAV: 그들이 왕의 종들에게 짚을 전혀 주지 아니하고 우리에게, 벽돌을 만들라, 하나이다. 보소서, 왕의 종들이 매를 맞으오나 이 잘못은 왕의 백성에게 있나이다, 하니라.
16 They give us no dry stems and they say to us, Make bricks: and they give your servants blows; but it is your people who are in the wrong.
16 종들에게 짚을 주지아니하고 그들이 우리더러 벽돌을 만들라 하나이다 종들이 매를 맞으오니 이는 왕의 백성의 허물이니이다
17 But he said, Ye areidle, ye areidle: therefore ye say, Let us goand do sacrifice to the LORD.[x]MKJV: But he said, You [are] idle! You are idle! Therefore you say, Let us go, let us sacrifice to the LORD. BBE: But he said, You have no love for work: that is why you say, Let us go and make an offering to the Lord. KAV: 그러나 그가 이르되, 너희가 게으르다. 너희가 게으르다. 그러므로 너희가 이르기를, 우리가 가서 {주}께 희생물을 드리자, 하는도다. 17 But he said, You have no love for work: that is why you say, Let us go and make an offering to the Lord.
17 바로가 가로되 너희가 게으르다 게으르다 그러므로 너희가 이르기를 우리가 가서 여호와께 희생을 드리자 하는도다
18Go therefore now, andwork; for there shall no straw be given you, yet shall ye deliver the tale of bricks.[x]MKJV: Therefore go now [and] work, for there shall be no straw given to you; yet you shall deliver the number of bricks. BBE: Go now, get back to your work; no dry stems will be given to you, but you are to make the full number of bricks. KAV: 그러므로 이제 가서 일하라. 너희에게 짚은 전혀 주지 아니할지라도 너희가 지정된 수효의 벽돌을 넘겨주어야 하리라. 18 Go now, get back to your work; no dry stems will be given to you, but you are to make the full number of bricks.

19 And the officers of the children of Israel did seethat they were in evilcase, after it was said, Ye shall not minishought from your bricks of your dailyㆍtask.[x]MKJV: And the overseers of the sons of Israel saw themselves in affliction, after it was said, You shall not take away from your bricks of your daily task. BBE: Then the responsible men of the children of Israel saw that they were purposing evil when they said, The number of bricks which you have to make every day will be no less than before. 19 Then the responsible men of the children of Israel saw that they were purposing evil when they said, The number of bricks which you have to make every day will be no less than before.

21 And they said unto them, The LORDlook upon you, and judge; because ye have made our savour to be abhorred in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to slay us.[x]MKJV: And they said to them, The LORD look upon you and judge, because you have made our smell to stink in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of his servants, to put a sword in their hands to kill us. BBE: And they said to them, May the Lord take note of you and be your judge; for you have given Pharaoh and his servants a bad opinion of us, putting a sword in their hands for our destruction. 22 And Mosesreturned unto the LORD, and said, Lord, wherefore hast thou so evil entreated this people? why is it that thou hast sent me?[x]MKJV: And Moses returned to the LORD, and said, Lord, why have You treated this people ill? Why then have you sent me? BBE: And Moses went back to the Lord and said, Lord, why have you done evil to this people? why have you sent me? 22 And Moses went back to the Lord and said, Lord, why have you done evil to this people? why have you sent me?

23 For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in thy name, he hath done evil to this people; neither hast thou delivered thy people at all.[x]MKJV: For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in Your name, he has done evil to this people. Neither have You delivered Your people at all. BBE: For from the time when I came to Pharaoh to put your words before him, he has done evil to this people, and you have given them no help. 23 For from the time when I came to Pharaoh to put your words before him, he has done evil to this people, and you have given them no help.
