1 Now Moses was looking after the flock of Jethro, his father-in-law, the priest of Midian: and he took the flock to the back of the waste land and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

3 And Mosessaid, I will now turn aside, and see this greatsight, why the bush is not burnt.[x]MKJV: And Moses said, I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the thorn bush is not burned up. 4 And when the LORDsaw that he turned aside to see, Godcalled unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.[x]MKJV: And the LORD saw that he had turned aside to see. God called to him out of the midst of the thorn bush, and said, Moses! Moses! And he said, Here I [am]. 5 And he said, Draw not nighhither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the placewhereon thou standestisholyground.[x]MKJV: And He said, Do not come near here. Put off your sandals from your feet, for the place on which you stand [is] holy ground. BBE: And he said, Do not come near: take off your shoes from your feet, for the place where you are is holy. 6 And he said, I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses kept his face covered for fear of looking on God.
6 또 이르시되 나는 네 조상의 하나님이니 아브라함의 하나님, 이삭의 하나님, 야곱의 하나님이니라 모세가 하나님 뵈옵기를 두려워하여 얼굴을 가리우매
7 And the LORDsaid, I have surelyseen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;[x]MKJV: And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of My people who [are] in Egypt; I have heard their cry because of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows. 8 내가 내려와서 그들을 애굽인의 손에서 건져내고 그들을 그 땅에서 인도하여 아름답고 광대한 땅, 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 땅 곧 가나안 족속, 헷 족속, 아모리 족속, 브리스 족속, 히위 족속, 여부스 족속의 지방에 이르려 하노라
9 Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me: and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptiansoppress them.[x]MKJV: And now behold, the cry of the sons of Israel has come to Me. And I have also seen the oppression [with] which the Egyptians oppress them. BBE: For now, truly, the cry of the children of Israel has come to me, and I have seen the cruel behaviour of the Egyptians to them. 10Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt.[x]MKJV: And now go, and I will send you to Pharaoh, that you may bring forth My people, the sons of Israel, out of Egypt. And this [shall be] the sign to you that I have sent you: When you have brought forth the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God upon this mountain. 16Go, and gather the elders of Israeltogether, and say unto them, The LORDGod of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, appeared unto me, saying, I have surelyvisited you, and seen that which is done to you in Egypt:[x]MKJV: Go, and gather the elders of Israel and say to them, Jehovah the God of your fathers has appeared to me, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, saying, I have surely visited you and [have seen what] is done to you in Egypt. 18 And they shall hearken to thy voice: and thou shalt come, thou and the elders of Israel, unto the king of Egypt, and ye shall say unto him, The LORDGod of the Hebrews hath met with us: and now let us go, we beseech thee, threedaysjourney into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God.[x]MKJV: And they shall listen to your voice. 18 And they will give ear to your voice: and you, with the chiefs of Israel, will go to Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, and say to him, The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has come to us: let us then go three days' journey into the waste land to make an offering to the Lord our God.
18 그들이 네 말을 들으리니 너는 그들의 장로들과 함께 애굽 왕에게 이르기를 히브리 사람의 하나님 여호와께서 우리에게 임하셨은즉 우리가 우리 하나님 여호와께 희생을 드리려 하오니 사흘길쯤 광야로 가기를 허락하소서 하라

19 And I am certain that the king of Egypt will not let you go without being forced.

And it shall be that when you go, you shall not go empty. BBE: And I will give this people grace in the eyes of the Egyptians, so that when you go out you will go out with your hands full. 22 But every woman shall borrow of her neighbour, and of her that sojourneth in her house, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: and ye shall putthem upon your sons, and upon your daughters; and ye shall spoil the Egyptians.[x]MKJV: But every woman shall ask of her neighbor, and of her that stays in her house, jewels of silver and jewels of gold and clothing. And you shall put [them] upon your sons and upon your daughters. And you shall plunder the Egyptians.
