1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
1 For everything there is a fixed time, and a time for every business under the sun.
1 천하에 범사가 기한이 있고 모든 목적이 이룰 때가 있나니
2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck upthat which isplanted;
2 A time for birth and a time for death; a time for planting and a time for uprooting;
2 날 때가 있고 죽을 때가 있으며 심을 때가 있고 심은 것을 뽑을 때가 있으며
3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
3 A time to put to death and a time to make well; a time for pulling down and a time for building up;
3 죽일 때가 있고 치료 시킬 때가 있으며 헐 때가 있고 세울 때가 있으며
4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
4 A time for weeping and a time for laughing; a time for sorrow and a time for dancing;
4 울 때가 있고 웃을 때가 있으며 슬퍼할 때가 있고 춤출 때가 있으며
5 A time to cast awaystones, and a time to gatherstonestogether; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
5 A time to take stones away and a time to get stones together; a time for kissing and a time to keep from kissing;
5 돌을 던져 버릴 때가 있고 돌을 거둘 때가 있으며 안을 때가 있고 안는 일을 멀리 할 때가 있으며
6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
6 A time for search and a time for loss; a time to keep and a time to give away;
6 찾을 때가 있고 잃을 때가 있으며 지킬 때가 있고 버릴 때가 있으며
7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
7 A time for undoing and a time for stitching; a time for keeping quiet and a time for talk;
7 찢을 때가 있고 꿰맬 때가 있으며 잠잠할 때가 있고 말할 때가 있으며
8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
8 A time for love and a time for hate; a time for war and a time for peace.
8 사랑할 때가 있고 미워할 때가 있으며 전쟁할 때가 있고 평화할 때가 있느니라
9 What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth?
9 What profit has the worker in the work which he does?
9 일하는 자가 그 수고로 말미암아 무슨 이익이 있으랴
10 I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.
10 I saw the work which God has put on the sons of man.
10 하나님이 인생들에게 노고를 주사 애쓰게 하신 것을 내가 보았노라
11 He hath made every thingbeautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that Godmaketh from the beginning to the end.
11 He has made everything right in its time; but he has made their hearts without knowledge, so that man is unable to see the works of God, from the first to the last.
11 하나님이 모든 것을 지으시되 때를 따라 아름답게 하셨고 또 사람에게 영원을 사모하는 마음을 주셨느니라 그러나 하나님의 하시는 일의 시종을 사람으로 측량할 수 없게 하셨도다
12 I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to dogood in his life.
12 I am certain that there is nothing better for a man than to be glad, and to do good while life is in him.
12 사람이 사는 동안에 기뻐하며 선을 행하는 것보다 나은 것이 없는 줄을 내가 알았고
13 And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.
13 And for every man to take food and drink, and have joy in all his work, is a reward from God.
13 사람마다 먹고 마시는 것과 수고함으로 낙을 누리는 것이 하나님의 선물인 줄을 또한 알았도다
14 I know that, whatsoever Goddoeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and Goddoethit, that men should fearbefore him.
14 I am certain that whatever God does will be for ever. No addition may be made to it, nothing may be taken from it; and God has done it so that man may be in fear before him.
14 무릇 하나님의 행하시는 것은 영원히 있을 것이라 더 할 수도 없고 덜 할 수도 없나니 하나님이 이같이 행하심은 사람으로 그 앞에서 경외하게 하려 하심인 줄을 내가 알았도다
15 That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and Godrequireth that which is past.
15 Whatever is has been before, and what is to be is now; because God makes search for the things which are past.
15 이제 있는 것이 옛적에 있었고 장래에 있을 것도 옛적에 있었나니 하나님은 이미 지난 것을 다시 찾으시느니라
16 And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, thatwickednesswas there; and the place of righteousness, thatiniquitywas there.
16 And again, I saw under the sun, in the place of the judges, that evil was there; and in the place of righteousness, that evil was there.
16 내가 해 아래서 또 보건대 재판하는 곳에 악이 있고 공의를 행하는 곳에도 악이 있도다
17 I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.
17 I said in my heart, God will be judge of the good and of the bad; because a time for every purpose and for every work has been fixed by him.
17 내가 심중에 이르기를 의인과 악인을 하나님이 심판하시리니 이는 모든 목적과 모든 일이 이룰 때가 있음이라 하였으며
18 I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.
18 I said in my heart, It is because of the sons of men, so that God may put them to the test and that they may see themselves as beasts.
18 내가 심중에 이르기를 인생의 일에 대하여 하나님이 저희를 시험하시리니 저희로 자기가 짐승보다 다름이 없는 줄을 깨닫게 하려 하심이라 하였노라
19 For that which befalleth the sons of menbefallethbeasts; even one thingbefalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all onebreath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all isvanity.
19 Because the fate of the sons of men and the fate of the beasts is the same. As is the death of one so is the death of the other, and all have one spirit. Man is not higher than the beasts; because all is to no purpose.
19 인생에게 임하는 일이 짐승에게도 임하나니 이 둘에게 임하는 일이 일반이라 다 동일한 호흡이 있어서 이의 죽음 같이 저도 죽으니 사람이 짐승보다 뛰어남이 없음은 모든것이 헛됨이로다
20 All go unto oneplace; all are of the dust, and all turn to dustagain.
20 All go to one place, all are of the dust, and all will be turned to dust again.
20 다 흙으로 말미암았으므로 다 흙으로 돌아가나니 다 한 곳으로 가거니와
21 Who knoweth the spirit of manthatgoethupward, and the spirit of the beast that goethdownward to the earth?
21 Who is certain that the spirit of the sons of men goes up to heaven, or that the spirit of the beasts goes down to the earth?
21 인생의 혼은 위로 올라가고 짐승의 혼은 아래 곧 땅으로 내려가는 줄을 누가 알랴
22 Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion: for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him?
22 So I saw that there is nothing better than for a man to have joy in his work--because that is his reward. Who will make him see what will come after him?
22 그러므로 내 소견에는 사람이 자기 일에 즐거워하는 것보다 나은 것이 없나니 이는 그의 분복이라 그 신후사를 보게 하려고 저를 도로 데리고 올 자가 누구이랴
