13 That he may establish thee to day for a people unto himself, and that he may be unto thee a God, as he hath said unto thee, and as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.[x]MKJV: that He may establish you today for a people to Himself, and [that] He may be a God to you, as He has said to you, and as He has sworn to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. 19 And it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of mine heart, to adddrunkenness to thirst:[x]MKJV: and it happens when he hears the words of this curse, that he shall bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart, to snatch away the drunken with the thirsty. 19 이 저주의 말을 듣고도 심중에 스스로 위로하여 이르기를 내가 내 마음을 강퍅케 하여 젖은 것과 마른 것을 멸할찌라도 평안하리라 할까 염려함이라
20 The LORDwill not spare him, but then the anger of the LORD and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and the LORD shall blot out his name from under heaven.[x]MKJV: The LORD will not be willing to forgive him, but then the anger of the LORD and His jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie on him, and the LORD shall blot out his name from under heavens. BBE: The Lord will have no mercy on him, but the wrath of the Lord will be burning against that man, and all the curses recorded in this book will be waiting for him, and the Lord will take away his name completely from the earth. 20 The Lord will have no mercy on him, but the wrath of the Lord will be burning against that man, and all the curses recorded in this book will be waiting for him, and the Lord will take away his name completely from the earth.

21 And the LORD shall separate him unto evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant that are written in this book of the law:[x]MKJV: And the LORD shall set him apart to evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant that are written in this book of the law; BBE: He will be marked out by the Lord, from all the tribes of Israel, for an evil fate, in keeping with all the curses of the agreement recorded in this book of the law. 23And that the whole land thereof isbrimstone, and salt, andburning, that it is not sown, nor beareth, nor any grassgroweth therein, like the overthrow of Sodom, and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim, which the LORDoverthrew in his anger, and in his wrath:[x]MKJV: the whole land shall be burned [with] brimstone, and salt; it shall not be sown; nor shall it sprout; nor shall there be any grass in it. 23 And that all the land is a salt and smoking waste, not planted or giving fruit or clothed with grass, but wasted like Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, on which the Lord sent destruction in the heat of his wrath:
23 그 온 땅이 유황이 되며 소금이 되며 또 불에 타서 심지도 못하며 결실함도 없으며 거기 아무 풀도 나지 아니함이 옛적에 여호와께서 진노와 분한으로 훼멸하신 소돔과 고모라와 아드마와 스보임의 무너짐과 같음을 보고 말할 것이요
24 Even all nations shall say, Wherefore hath the LORDdone thus unto this land? what meaneth the heat of this greatanger?[x]MKJV: even all nations shall say, Why has the LORD done this to this land? [For] what [is] the heat of this great anger? BBE: Truly all the nations will say, Why has the Lord done so to this land? what is the reason for this great and burning wrath? 24 Truly all the nations will say, Why has the Lord done so to this land? what is the reason for this great and burning wrath?
24 열방 사람들도 말하기를 여호와께서 어찌하여 이 땅에 이같이 행하셨느뇨 이같이 크고 열렬하게 노하심은 무슨 뜻이뇨 하면
