4 If word of this comes to your ears, then let this thing be looked into with care, and if there is no doubt that it is true, and such evil has been done in Israel;

5 Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wickedthing, unto thy gates, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die.[x]MKJV: then you shall bring forth that man or that woman who has committed that evil thing, to your gates, even that man or that woman, and shall stone them with stones until they die. 9 And thou shalt come unto the priests the Levites, and unto the judge that shall be in those days, and inquire; and they shall show thee the sentence of judgment:[x]MKJV: And [you] shall come to the priests of the Levites, and to the judge that shall be in those days, and ask. And they shall declare to you the sentence of judgment. 12 And the man that will dopresumptuously, and will not hearken unto the priest that standeth to minister there before the LORD thy God, or unto the judge, even that man shall die: and thou shalt put away the evil from Israel.[x]MKJV: And the man that acts proudly and will not listen to the priest who stands to minister there before the LORD your God, or to the judge, even that man shall die. And you shall put away the evil from Israel. 15 Thou shalt in any wisesethimking over thee, whom the LORD thy God shall choose: one from among thy brethren shalt thou setking over thee: thou mayest not set a strangerover thee, which is not thy brother.[x]MKJV: you shall surely set a king over you, whom the LORD your God shall choose. You shall set a king over you from among your brothers. You may not set a stranger over you, who is not your brother. 20 That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolonghisdays in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.[x]MKJV: so that his heart may not be lifted up above his brothers, and that he does not turn aside from the commandment, to the right or the left, so that he may make his days longer in his kingdom, he and his sons, in the midst of Israel.
