14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:	14 But Peter, getting up, with the eleven, said in a loud voice, O men of Judaea, and all you who are living in Jerusalem, take note of this and give ear to my words.	14 베드로가 열 한 사도와 같이 서서 소리를 높여 가로되 유대인들과 예루살렘에 사는 모든 사람들아 이 일을 너희로 알게 할 것이니 내 말에 귀를 기울이라

15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.	15 For these men are not overcome with wine, as it seems to you, for it is only the third hour of the day;	15 때가 제 삼시니 너희 생각과 같이 이 사람들이 취한 것이 아니라

16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;	16 But this is the thing which was said by the prophet Joel;	16 이는 곧 선지자 요엘로 말씀하신 것이니 일렀으되

17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:	17 And it will come about, in the last days, says God, that I will send out my Spirit on all flesh; and your sons and your daughters will be prophets, and your young men will see visions, and your old men will have dreams:	17 하나님이 가라사대 말세에 내가 내 영으로 모든 육체에게 부어 주리니 너희의 자녀들은 예언할 것이요 너희의 젊은이들은 환상을 보고 너희의 늙은이들은 꿈을 꾸리라

18 And ㆍ on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:	18 And on my men-servants and my women-servants I will send my Spirit, and they will be prophets.	18 그 때에 내가 내 영으로 내 남종과 여종들에게 부어주리니 저희가 예언할 것이요

19 And I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:	19 And wonders will be seen in heaven, and signs on the earth, blood and fire and smoke:	19 또 내가 위로 하늘에서는 기사와 아래로 땅에서는 징조를 베풀리니 곧 피와 불과 연기로다

20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:	20 The sun will become dark and the moon will be turned to blood, before that great day of the Lord comes in glory:	20 주의 크고 영화로운 날이 이르기 전에 해가 변하여 어두워지고 달이 변하여 피가 되리라

21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever ㆍ shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.	21 And whoever makes his prayer to the Lord will have salvation.	21 누구든지 주의 이름을 부르는 자는 구원을 얻으리라하였느니라

22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:	22 Men of Israel, give ear to these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man who had the approval of God, as was made clear to you by the great works and signs and wonders which God did by him among you, as you yourselves have knowledge,	22 이스라엘 사람들아 이 말을 들으라 너희도 아는바에 하나님께서 나사렛 예수로 큰 권능과 기사와 표적을 너희 가운데서 베푸사 너희 앞에서 그를 증거하셨느니라

23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:	23 Him, when he was given up, by the decision and knowledge of God, you put to death on the cross, by the hands of evil men:	23 그가 하나님의 정하신 뜻과 미리 아신대로 내어 준바 되었거늘 너희가 법 없는 자들의 손을 빌어 못 박아 죽였으나

24 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.	24 But God gave him back to life, having made him free from the pains of death because it was not possible for him to be overcome by it.	24 하나님께서 사망의 고통을 풀어 살리셨으니 이는 그가 사망에게 매여 있을 수 없었음이라

25 For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always ㆍ before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved:	25 For David said of him, I saw the Lord before my face at all times, for he is at my right hand, so that I may not be moved:	25 다윗이 저를 가리켜 가로되 내가 항상 내 앞에 계신 주를 뵈웠음이여 나로 요동치 않게 하기 위하여 그가 내 우편에 계시도다

26 Therefore ㆍ did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover ㆍ also my flesh shall rest in hope:	26 And for this cause my heart was glad and my tongue full of joy, and my flesh will be resting in hope:	26 이러므로 내 마음이 기뻐하였고 내 입술도 즐거워하였으며 육체는 희망에 거하리니

27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.	27 For you will not let my soul be in hell and you will not give up your Holy One to destruction.	27 이는 내 영혼을 음부에 버리지 아니하시며 주의 거룩한 자로 썩음을 당치 않게 하실 것임이로다

28 Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.	28 You have made me see the ways of life; I will be full of joy when I see your face.	28 주께서 생명의 길로 내게 보이셨으니 주의 앞에서 나로 기쁨이 충만하게 하시리로다 하였으니

29 Men and brethren, let me freely ㆍ speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.	29 My brothers, I may say to you openly that David came to his death, and was put in the earth, and his resting-place is with us today.	29 형제들아 내가 조상 다윗에 대하여 담대히 말할 수 있노니 다윗이 죽어 장사되어 그 묘가 오늘까지 우리 중에 있도다

30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;	30 But being a prophet, and having in mind the oath which God had given to him, that of the fruit of his body one would take his place as a king,	30 그는 선지자라 하나님이 이미 맹세하사 그 자손 중에서 한 사람을 그 위에 앉게 하리라 하심을 알고

31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.	31 He, having knowledge of the future, was talking of the coming again of Christ from the dead, that he was not kept in hell and his body did not see destruction.	31 미리 보는 고로 그리스도의 부활하심을 말하되 저가 음부에 버림이 되지 않고 육신이 썩음을 당하지 아니하시리라 하더니

32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.	32 This Jesus God has given back to life, of which we all are witnesses.	32 이 예수를 하나님이 살리신지라 우리가 다 이 일에 증인이로다

33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.	33 And so, being lifted up to the right hand of God, and having the Father's word that the Holy Spirit would come, he has sent this thing, which now you see and have knowledge of.	33 하나님이 오른손으로 예수를 높이시매 그가 약속하신 성령을 아버지께 받아서 너희 보고 듣는 이것을 부어 주셨느니라

34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,	34 For David has not gone up into heaven, but says, himself, The Lord said to my Lord, Be seated at my right hand,	34 다윗은 하늘에 올라가지 못하였으나 친히 말하여 가로되 주께서 내 주에게 말씀하시기를

35 Until I make ㆍ thy foes thy footstool.	35 Till I put all those who are against you under your feet.	35 내가 네 원수로 네 발등상 되게 하기까지 너는 내 우편에 앉았으라 하셨도다 하였으니

36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.	36 For this reason, let all Israel be certain that this Jesus, whom you put to death on the cross, God has made Lord and Christ.	36 그런즉 이스라엘 온 집이 정녕 알찌니 너희가 십자가에 못 박은 이 예수를 하나님이 주와 그리스도가 되게 하셨느니라 하니라

37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?	37 Now when these words came to their ears their hearts were troubled, and they said to Peter and the other Apostles, Brothers, what are we to do?	37 저희가 이 말을 듣고 마음에 찔려 베드로와 다른 사도들에게 물어 가로되 형제들아 우리가 어찌할꼬 하거늘

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.	38 And Peter said, Let your hearts be changed, every one of you, and have baptism in the name of Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will have the Holy Spirit given to you.	38 베드로가 가로되 너희가 회개하여 각각 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 세례를 받고 죄 사함을 얻으라 그리하면 성령을 선물로 받으리니

39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off ㆍ, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.	39 For the word of God is for you and for your children and for all those who are far off, even all those who may be marked out by the Lord our God.	39 이 약속은 너희와 너희 자녀와 모든 먼데 사람 곧 주 우리 하나님이 얼마든지 부르시는 자들에게 하신 것이라 하고

40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.	40 And with more such words he gave his witness, offering them salvation and saying, Come out from this evil generation.	40 또 여러 말로 확증하며 권하여 가로되 너희가 이 패역한 세대에서 구원을 받으라 하니

41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.	41 Then those who gave hearing to his words had baptism: and about three thousand souls were joined to them that day.	41 그 말을 받는 사람들은 세례를 받으매 이 날에 제자의 수가 삼천이나 더하더라

42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.	42 And they kept their attention fixed on the Apostles' teaching and were united together in the taking of broken bread and in prayer.	42 저희가 사도의 가르침을 받아 서로 교제하며 떡을 떼며 기도하기를 전혀 힘쓰니라

43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.	43 But fear came on every soul: and all sorts of wonders and signs were done by the Apostles.	43 사람마다 두려워하는데 사도들로 인하여 기사와 표적이 많이 나타나니

46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,	46 And day by day, going in agreement together regularly to the Temple and, taking broken bread together in their houses, they took their food with joy and with true hearts,	46 날마다 마음을 같이 하여 성전에 모이기를 힘쓰고 집에서 떡을 떼며 기쁨과 순전한 마음으로 음식을 먹고

47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. King James English

KJ English(1611년~)는 셰익스피어의 영어문장처럼 현대 영문법과 약간 다릅니다. 하지만 몇 가지 차이만 알면 오히려 요즘 영어문장보다 더 정확한 내용 이해와 문장의 맛을 느낄 수 있습니다.

상대편(2인칭)에게 말할 때 단수, 복수를 구분합니다. 복수(너희)이면 ye, you, your, yours, yourself를, 단수(너)이면 thou, thee, thy, thine, thyself입니다. 요즘 영어와 달리 "너"와 "너희"가 명확히 구분됩니다!
3인칭 현재동사는 -th나 -eth로 끝나는데 요즘 영어문장에서 -s나 -es와 같습니다.
-st나 -est로 끝나는 동사는 직설법을 말하는 데, 생략하고 읽으면 됩니다.
