6 He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.	6 Who is living with Simon, a leather-worker, whose house is by the sea.	6 저는 피장 시몬의 집에 우거하니 그 집은 해변에 있느니라 하더라

7 And when the angel which spake unto Cornelius was departed, he called two of his household servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually;	7 And when the angel who said these words to him had gone away, he sent for two of his house-servants, and a God-fearing man of the army, one of those who were waiting on him at all times;	7 마침 말하던 천사가 떠나매 고넬료가 집안 하인 둘과 종졸 가운데 경건한 사람 하나를 불러

9 On the morrow, as, they went on their journey, and, drew nigh unto the city, Peter, went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:	9 Now the day after, when they were on their journey and were near the town, Peter went up to the top of the house for prayer, about the sixth hour:	9 이튿날 저희가 행하여 성에 가까이 갔을 그 때에 베드로가 기도하려고 지붕에 올라가니 시간은 제 육시더라

10 And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,	10 And he was in need of food: but while they were getting it ready, a deep sleep came on him;	10 시장하여 먹고자 하매 사람이 준비할 때에 비몽사몽간에

11 And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:	11 And he saw the heavens opening, and a vessel coming down, like a great cloth let down on the earth,	11 하늘이 열리며 한 그릇이 내려오는 것을 보니 큰 보자기 같고 네 귀를 매어 땅에 드리웠더라

12 Wherein ㆍ were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.	12 In which were all sorts of beasts and birds.	12 그 안에는 땅에 있는 각색 네 발 가진 짐승과 기는 것과 공중에 나는 것들이 있는데

13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.	13 And a voice came to him, saying, Come, Peter; take them for food.	13 또 소리가 있으되 베드로야 일어나 잡아 먹으라 하거늘

14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.	14 But Peter said, No, Lord; for I have never taken food which is common or unclean.	14 베드로가 가로되 주여 그럴수 없나이다 속되고 깨끗지 아니한 물건을 내가 언제든지 먹지 아니하였삽나이다 한대

15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.	15 And the voice came to him a second time, What God has made clean, do not you make common.	15 또 두번째 소리 있으되 하나님께서 깨끗케 하신 것을 네가 속되다 하지 말라 하더라

16 ㆍ This was done thrice ㆍ: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.	16 And this was done three times: and then the vessel was taken back into heaven.	16 이런 일이 세번 있은 후 그 그릇이 곧 하늘로 올리워 가니라

17 Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean ㆍ, behold ㆍ, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made inquiry for Simon's house, and stood before the gate,	17 Now while Peter was in doubt as to the purpose of this vision, the men who were sent by Cornelius, having made search for Simon's house, came to the door,	17 베드로가 본바 환상이 무슨 뜻인지 속으로 의심하더니 마침 고넬료의 보낸 사람들이 시몬의 집을 찾아 문 밖에 서서

19 While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee.	19 And, while Peter was turning the vision over in his mind, the Spirit said to him, See, three men are looking for you.	19 베드로가 그 환상에 대하여 생각할 때에 성령께서 저더러 말씀하시되 두 사람이 너를 찾으니

20 Arise therefore, and get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.	20 Go down, then, and go with them, doubting nothing, for I have sent them.	20 일어나 내려가 의심치 말고 함께 가라 내가 저희를 보내었느니라 하시니

21 Then Peter went down to the men which were sent unto him from Cornelius; and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the cause wherefore ye are come?	21 And Peter went down to the men, and said, I am the man you are looking for: why have you come?	21 베드로가 내려가 그 사람들을 보고 가로되 내가 곧 너희의 찾는 사람이니 너희가 무슨 일로 왔느냐

22 And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.	22 And they said, Cornelius, a captain, an upright and God-fearing man, respected by all the nation of the Jews, had word from God by an angel to send for you to his house, and to give hearing to your words.	22 저희가 대답하되 백부장 고넬료는 의인이요 하나님을 경외하는 자라 유대 온 족속이 칭찬하더니 저가 거룩한 천사의 지시를 받아 너를 그 집으로 청하여 말을 들으려 하느니라 한대

23 Then called he them in, and lodged them. And on the morrow Peter went away with them, and certain brethren from Joppa accompanied him.	23 So he took them in for the night. And the day after, he went with them, taking some of the brothers from Joppa with him.	23 베드로가 불러 들여 유숙하게 하니라 이튿날 일어나 저희와 함께 갈쌔 욥바 두어 형제도 함께 가니라

24 And the morrow after they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them ㆍ, and had called together his kinsmen and near friends.	24 And the day after that, they came to Caesarea. And Cornelius was waiting for them, having got together his relations and his near friends.	24 이튿날 가이사랴에 들어가니 고넬료가 일가와 가까운 친구들을 모아 기다리더니

25 And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him.	25 And when Peter came in, Cornelius came to him and, falling down at his feet, gave him worship.	25 마침 베드로가 들어올 때에 고넬료가 맞아 발앞에 엎드리어 절하니

26 But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.	26 But Peter, lifting him up, said, Get up, for I am a man as you are.	26 베드로가 일으켜 가로되 일어서라 나도 사람이라 하고

27 And as he talked with him, he went in, and found many that were come together.	27 And saying these words, he went in, and saw that a great number of people had come together;	27 더불어 말하며 들어가 여러 사람의 모인것을 보고

28 And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath showed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.	28 And he said to them, You yourselves have knowledge that it is against the law for a man who is a Jew to be in the company of one who is of another nation; but God has made it clear to me that no man may be named common or unclean:	28 이르되 유대인으로서 이방인을 교제하는 것과 가까이 하는 것이 위법인 줄은 너희도 알거니와 하나님께서 내게 지시하사 아무도 속되다 하거나 깨끗지 않다 하지 말라 하시기로

29 Therefore came I unto you without gainsaying, as soon as I was sent for: I ask therefore for what intent ye have sent for me?	29 And so I came without question, when I was sent for. What then is your purpose in sending for me?	29 부름을 사양치 아니하고 왔노라 묻노니 무슨 일로 나를 불렀느뇨

30 And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,	30 And Cornelius said, Four days from now I was in my house in prayer at the ninth hour; and I saw before me a man in shining clothing,	30 고넬료가 가로되 나흘 전 이맘때까지 내 집에서 제 구시 기도를 하는데 홀연히 한 사람이 빛난 옷을 입고 내 앞에 서서

31 And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.	31 Who said, Cornelius, your prayer has come to the ears of God, and your offerings are kept in his memory.	31 말하되 고넬료야 하나님이 네 기도를 들으시고 네 구제를 기억하셨으니

32 Send therefore to Joppa, and call hither Simon, whose surname is Peter; he is lodged in the house of one Simon a tanner by the sea side: who, when he cometh, shall speak unto thee.	32 Send, then, to Joppa, and get Simon, named Peter, to come to you; he is living in the house of Simon, a leather-worker, by the sea.	32 사람을 욥바에 보내어 베드로라 하는 시몬을 청하라 저가 바닷가 피장 시몬의 집에 우거하느니라 하시기로

33 Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.	33 So, straight away, I sent for you; and you have done well to come. And now, we are all present before God, ready to give attention to all the things which the Lord has given you to say.	33 내가 곧 당신에게 사람을 보내었더니 오셨으니 잘하였나이다 이제 우리는 주께서 당신에게 명하신 모든 것을 듣고자 하여 다 하나님 앞에 있나이다

34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:	34 Then Peter said, Truly, I see clearly that God is no respecter of persons:	34 베드로가 입을 열어 가로되 내가 참으로 하나님은 사람의 외모를 취하지 아니하시고

35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.	35 But in every nation, the man who has fear of him and does righteousness is pleasing to him.	35 각 나라중 하나님을 경외하며 의를 행하는 사람은 하나님이 받으시는줄 깨달았도다

36 The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: ㆍ (he is Lord of all:)	36 The word which he sent to the children of Israel, giving the good news of peace through Jesus Christ (who is Lord of all)--	36 만유의 주 되신 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 화평의 복음을 전하사 이스라엘 자손들에게 보내신 말씀

37 That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;	37 That word you yourselves have knowledge of, which was made public through all Judaea, starting from Galilee, after the baptism of which John was the preacher,	37 곧 요한이 그 세례를 반포한 후에 갈릴리에서 시작되어 온 유대에 두루 전파된 그것을 너희도 알거니와

38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.	38 About Jesus of Nazareth, how God gave the Holy Spirit to him, with power: and how he went about doing good and making well all who were troubled by evil spirits, for God was with him.	38 하나님이 나사렛 예수에게 성령과 능력을 기름붓듯 하셨으매 저가 두루 다니시며 착한 일을 행하시고 마귀에게 눌린 모든 자를 고치셨으니 이는 하나님이 함께 하셨음이라

39 And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:	39 And we are witnesses of all the things which he did in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem; whom they put to death, hanging him on a tree.	39 우리는 유대인의 땅과 예루살렘에서 그의 행하신 모든 일에 증인이라 그를 저희가 나무에 달아 죽였으나

40 Him God raised up the third day, and showed him openly;	40 On the third day God gave him back to life, and let him be seen,	40 하나님이 사흘만에 다시 살리사 나타내시되

41 Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead.	41 Not by all the people, but by witnesses marked out before by God, even by us, who took food and drink with him after he came back from the dead.	41 모든 백성에게 하신 것이 아니요 오직 미리 택하신 증인 곧 죽은자 가운데서 일어나신 후 모시고 음식을 먹은 우리에게 하신 것이라

42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.	42 And he gave us orders to give news of this to the people, and to give public witness that this is he whom God has made judge of the living and the dead.	42 우리를 명하사 백성에게 전도하되 하나님이 산 자와 죽은 자의 재판장으로 정하신 자가 곧 이 사람인 것을 증거하게 하셨고

43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.	43 To him all the prophets give witness, that through his name everyone who has faith in him will have forgiveness of sins.	43 저에 대하여 모든 선지자도 증거하되 저를 믿는 사람들이 다 그 이름을 힘입어 죄 사함을 받는다 하였느니라

44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.	44 While Peter was saying these words, the Holy Spirit came on all those who were hearing the word.	44 베드로가 이 말 할때에 성령이 말씀 듣는 모든 사람에게 내려오시니

45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.	45 And the Jews of the faith, who had come with Peter, were full of wonder, because the Holy Spirit was given to the Gentiles,	45 베드로와 함께 온 할례 받은 신자들이 이방인들에게도 성령 부어 주심을 인하여 놀라니

46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,	46 And they were talking in tongues, and giving glory to God. Then Peter said,	46 이는 방언을 말하며 하나님 높임을 들음이러라

47 Can ㆍ any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?	47 Will any man say that these may not have baptism who have been given the Holy Spirit as we have?	47 이에 베드로가 가로되 이 사람들이 우리와 같이 성령을 받았으니 누가 능히 물로 세례 줌을 금하리요 하고

48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.	48 And he gave orders for them to have baptism in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they kept him with them for some days.	48 명하여 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 세례를 주라 하니라 저희가 베드로에게 수일 더 유하기를 청하니라

KJ English(1611년~)는 셰익스피어의 영어문장처럼 현대 영문법과 약간 다릅니다. 하지만 몇 가지 차이만 알면 오히려 요즘 영어문장보다 더 정확한 내용 이해와 문장의 맛을 느낄 수 있습니다.

상대편(2인칭)에게 말할 때 단수, 복수를 구분합니다. 복수(너희)이면 ye, you, your, yours, yourself를, 단수(너)이면 thou, thee, thy, thine, thyself입니다. 요즘 영어와 달리 "너"와 "너희"가 명확히 구분됩니다!
3인칭 현재동사는 -th나 -eth로 끝나는데 요즘 영어문장에서 -s나 -es와 같습니다.
-st나 -est로 끝나는 동사는 직설법을 말하는 데, 생략하고 읽으면 됩니다.
