9 Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.	9 But Peter said to her, Why have you made an agreement together to be false to the Spirit of the Lord? See, the feet of the young men who have put the body of your husband in the earth, are at the door, and they will take you out.	9 베드로가 가로되 너희가 어찌 함께 꾀하여 주의 영을 시험하려 하느냐 보라 네 남편을 장사하고 오는 사람들의 발이 문앞에 이르렀으니 또 너를 메어 내가리라 한대

10 Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.	10 And straight away she went down at his feet, and her life went from her: and the young men came in and saw her dead, and they took her out and put her in the earth with her husband.	10 곧 베드로의 발 앞에 엎드러져 혼이 떠나는지라 젊은 사람들이 들어와 죽은 것을 보고 메어다가 그 남편 곁에 장사하니

11 And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.	11 Then great fear came on all the church and on all who had knowledge of these things.	11 온 교회와 이 일을 듣는 사람들이 다 크게 두려워하니라

12 And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; ㆍ (and they were all with one accord in Solomon's porch.	12 Now a number of signs and wonders were done among the people by the hands of the Apostles; and they were all together in Solomon's covered way.	12 사도들의 손으로 민간에 표적과 기사가 많이 되매 믿는 사람이 다 마음을 같이하여 솔로몬 행각에 모이고

13 And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them.	13 The others, in fear, kept back from joining them: but the people made much of them;	13 그 나머지는 감히 그들과 상종하는 사람이 없으나 백성이 칭송하더라

14 And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)	14 And a great number of men and women had faith, and were joined to the Lord;	14 믿고 주께로 나오는 자가 더 많으니 남녀의 큰 무리더라

15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.	15 And they even took into the streets people who were ill, and put them on beds, so that when Peter went by, some of them might be in his shade.	15 심지어 병든 사람을 메고 거리에 나가 침대와 요 위에 뉘이고 베드로가 지날 때에 혹 그 그림자라도 뉘게 덮일까 바라고

16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.	16 And numbers of people came together from the towns round about Jerusalem, with those who were ill and those who were troubled with unclean spirits: and they were all made well.	16 예루살렘 근읍 허다한 사람들도 모여 병든 사람과 더러운 귀신에게 괴로움 받는 사람을 데리고 와서 다 나음을 얻으니라

17 Then the high priest rose up, and all they that were with him, ㆍ (which is the sect of the Sadducees,) and were filled with indignation,	17 But the high priest and those who were with him (the Sadducees) were full of envy,	17 대제사장과 그와 함께 있는 사람 즉 사두개인의 당파가 다 마음에 시기가 가득하여 일어나서

18 And laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison.	18 And they took the Apostles and put them in the common prison.	18 사도들을 잡아다가 옥에 가두었더니

19 But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth, and said,	19 But in the night an angel of the Lord, opening the doors of the prison, took them out and said,	19 주의 사자가 밤에 옥문을 열고 끌어내어 가로되

20 Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.	20 Go, take your place in the Temple and give the people all the teaching about this Life.	20 가서 성전에 서서 이 생명의 말씀을 다 백성에게 말하라 하매

21 And when they heard that, they entered into the temple early in the morning ㆍ, and taught. But the high priest came, and they that were with him, and called the council together, and all the senate of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought.	21 And hearing this, they went into the Temple at dawn, and were teaching. But the high priest and those who were with him got together the Sanhedrin and the representatives of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison to get them.	21 저희가 듣고 새벽에 성전에 들어가서 가르치더니 대제사장과 그와 함께 있는 사람들이 와서 공회와 이스라엘 족속의 원로들을 다 모으고 사람을 옥에 보내어 사도들을 잡아오라 하니

22 But when the officers came, and found them not in the prison, they returned, and told,	22 But the men who were sent saw that they were not in the prison, and came back with the news,	22 관속들이 가서 옥에서 사도들을 보지 못하고 돌아와 말하여

23 Saying ㆍ, The prison truly found we shut with all safety, and the keepers standing without before the doors: but when we had opened, we found no man within.	23 Saying, The doors of the prison were safely shut, and the keepers were at the doors, but when they were open, there was nobody inside.	23 가로되 우리가 보니 옥은 든든하게 잠기고 지킨 사람들이 문에 섰으되 문을 열고 본즉 그 안에는 한 사람도 없더이다 하니

24 Now when the high priest and the captain of the temple and the chief priests heard these things, they doubted of them whereunto ㆍ this would grow.	24 Now, at these words, the captain of the Temple and the chief priests were greatly troubled about what might be the end of this business.	24 성전 맡은 자와 제사장들이 이 말을 듣고 의혹하여 이 일이 어찌 될까 하더니

25 Then came one and told them, saying ㆍ, Behold, the men whom ye put in prison are standing in the temple, and teaching the people.	25 And someone came and said to them, The men, whom you put in prison, are in the Temple teaching the people.	25 사람이 와서 고하되 보소서 옥에 가두었던 사람들이 성전에 서서 백성을 가르치더이다 하니

26 Then went the captain with the officers, and brought them without ㆍ violence: for they feared the people, lest they should have been stoned.	26 Then the captain and some of the police went and took them, but not violently, for fear that they might be stoned by the people.	26 성전 맡은 자가 관속들과 같이 가서 저희를 잡아 왔으나 강제로 못함은 백성들이 돌로 칠까 두려워함이러라

27 And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them,	27 And they took them into the Sanhedrin, and the high priest said to them,	27 저희를 끌어다가 공회 앞에 세우니 대제사장이 물어

28 Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us.	28 We gave you very clear orders not to give teaching in this name: and now Jerusalem is full of your teaching, and you are attempting to make us responsible for this man's death.	28 가로되 우리가 이 이름으로 사람을 가르치지 말라고 엄금하였으되 너희가 너희 교를 예루살렘에 가득하게 하니 이 사람의 피를 우리에게로 돌리고자 함이로다

29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.	29 But Peter and the Apostles, answering, said, We have to do the orders of God, not of man.	29 베드로와 사도들이 대답하여 가로되 사람보다 하나님을 순종하는 것이 마땅하니라

30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.	30 The God of our fathers gave Jesus back to life, whom you had put to death, hanging him on a tree.	30 너희가 나무에 달아 죽인 예수를 우리 조상의 하나님이 살리시고

31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.	31 Him God has put on high at his right hand, as a Ruler and a Saviour, to give to Israel a change of heart and forgiveness of sins.	31 이스라엘로 회개케 하사 죄 사함을 얻게 하시려고 그를 오른손으로 높이사 임금과 구주를 삼으셨느니라

32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.	32 And we are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who keep his laws.	32 우리는 이 일에 증인이요 하나님이 자기를 순종하는 사람들에게 주신 성령도 그러하니라 하더라

33 When they heard that, they were cut to the heart, and took counsel to slay them.	33 But when these words came to their ears, they were cut to the heart, and had a mind to put them to death.	33 저희가 듣고 크게 노하여 사도들을 없이하고자 할쌔

34 Then stood there up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in reputation among all the people, and commanded to put the apostles forth a little space;	34 But one of the Sanhedrin, a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a man of learning in the law, of whom all the people had a high opinion, got up and made a suggestion for the men to be put outside for a little time.	34 바리새인 가말리엘은 교법사로 모든 백성에게 존경을 받는 자라 공회 중에 일어나 명하여 사도들을 잠간 밖에 나가게 하고

35 And said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what ye intend to do as touching these men.	35 And he said to them, Men of Israel, take care what you do about these men.	35 말하되 이스라엘 사람들아 너희가 이 사람들에게 대하여 어떻게 하려는 것을 조심하라

36 For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nought.	36 For before this there was Theudas, who said he was someone important, to whom about four hundred men gave their support: he was put to death, and his band was broken up and came to nothing.	36 이전에 드다가 일어나 스스로 자랑하매 사람이 약 사백이나 따르더니 그가 죽임을 당하매 좇던 사람이 다 흩어져 없어졌고

37 After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing, and drew away much people after him: he also perished; and all, even as many as obeyed him, were dispersed.	37 After this man, there was Judas of Galilee, at the time of the numbering, and some of the people went after him: he was put to death, and all his supporters were put to flight.	37 그 후 호적할 때에 갈릴리 유다가 일어나 백성을 꾀어 좇게 하다가 그도 망한즉 좇던 사람이 다 흩어졌느니라

38 And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought:	38 And now I say to you, Do nothing to these men, but let them be: for if this teaching or this work is of men, it will come to nothing:	38 이제 내가 너희에게 말하노니 이 사람들을 상관 말고 버려두라 이 사상과 이 소행이 사람에게로서 났으면 무너질 것이요

39 But if it be of God, ye cannot ㆍ overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.	39 But if it is of God, you will not be able to overcome them, and you are in danger of fighting against God.	39 만일 하나님께로서 났으면 너희가 저희를 무너뜨릴 수 없겠고 도리어 하나님을 대적하는 자가 될까 하노라 하니

40 And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.	40 And he seemed to them to be right: and they sent for the Apostles, and, after having them whipped and giving them orders to give no teaching in the name of Jesus, they let them go.	40 저희가 옳게 여겨 사도들을 불러들여 채찍질하며 예수의 이름으로 말하는 것을 금하고 놓으니

41 And they departed ㆍ from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.	41 So they went away from the Sanhedrin, happy to undergo shame for the Name.	41 사도들은 그 이름을 위하여 능욕 받는 일에 합당한 자로 여기심을 기뻐하면서 공회 앞을 떠나니라

42 And daily ㆍ in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.	42 And every day, in the Temple and privately, they went on teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.	42 저희가 날마다 성전에 있든지 집에 있든지 예수는 그리스도라 가르치기와 전도하기를 쉬지 아니하니라

KJ English(1611년~)는 셰익스피어의 영어문장처럼 현대 영문법과 약간 다릅니다. 하지만 몇 가지 차이만 알면 오히려 요즘 영어문장보다 더 정확한 내용 이해와 문장의 맛을 느낄 수 있습니다.

상대편(2인칭)에게 말할 때 단수, 복수를 구분합니다. 복수(너희)이면 ye, you, your, yours, yourself를, 단수(너)이면 thou, thee, thy, thine, thyself입니다. 요즘 영어와 달리 "너"와 "너희"가 명확히 구분됩니다!
3인칭 현재동사는 -th나 -eth로 끝나는데 요즘 영어문장에서 -s나 -es와 같습니다.
-st나 -est로 끝나는 동사는 직설법을 말하는 데, 생략하고 읽으면 됩니다.
