22 And, behold, the servants of David and Joabcame from pursuing a troop, and brought in a greatspoil with them: but Abnerwas not with David in Hebron; for he had sent him away, and he was gone in peace.[x]MKJV: And behold, the servants of David and Joab came from [pursuing] a troop, and brought in a great spoil with them. But Abner [was] not with David in Hebron, for he had sent him away, and he had gone in peace. 22 Now the servants of David and Joab had been out attacking a band of armed men, and they came back with a great store of goods taken in the fight: but Abner was no longer in Hebron with David, for he had sent him away and he had gone in peace.

KAV: 요압과 그와 함께한 모든 군대가 돌아오매 그들이 요압에게 고하여 이르되, 넬의 아들 아브넬이 왕에게 왔었는데 왕이 그를 보내매 그가 평안히 갔나이다, 하니라.
23 When Joab and his men came, news was given them that Abner, the son of Ner, had come to the king, who had let him go away again in peace.
23 요압과 그 함께한 모든 군사가 돌아오매 혹이 요압에게 고하여 가로되 넬의 아들 아브넬이 왕에게 왔더니 왕이 보내매 저가 평안히 갔나이다
24 Then Joabcame to the king, and said, What hast thou done? behold, Abnercame unto thee; why is it that thou hast sent him away, and he is quitegone?[x]MKJV: And Joab came to the king and said, What have you done? Behold, Abner came to you. Why [is] this, [that] you have sent him away, and he has already gone? BBE: Then Joab came to the king, and said, What have you done? when Abner came to you why did you send him away and let him go? 24 Then Joab came to the king, and said, What have you done? when Abner came to you why did you send him away and let him go?
24 요압이 왕에게 나아가 가로되 어찌 하심이니이까 아브넬이 왕에게 나아왔거늘 어찌하여 저를 보내어 잘 가게 하셨나이까
25 Thou knowestAbner the son of Ner, that he came to deceive thee, and to know thy going out and thy coming inㆍ, and to know all that thou doest.[x]MKJV: You know Abner the son of Ner, that he came to deceive you, and to know your going out and your coming in, and to know all that you do. BBE: Is it not clear to you that Abner, the son of Ner, came with deceit to get knowledge of your going out and your coming in and of all you are doing? 25 Is it not clear to you that Abner, the son of Ner, came with deceit to get knowledge of your going out and your coming in and of all you are doing?
25 왕도 아시려니와 넬의 아들 아브넬의 온 것은 왕을 속임이라 왕의 출입하는 것을 알고 모든 하시는 것을 알려 함이니이다 하고
26 And when Joab was come out from David, he sentmessengersafterAbner, which brought him again from the well of Sirah: but Davidknewit not.[x]MKJV: And Joab left David and sent messengers after Abner, who brought him again from the well of Sirah. But David did not know. BBE: And when Joab had come out from David, he sent men after Abner, and they overtook him at the water-spring of Sirah, and made him come back with them: but David had no knowledge of it. 26 And when Joab had come out from David, he sent men after Abner, and they overtook him at the water-spring of Sirah, and made him come back with them: but David had no knowledge of it.
26 이에 다윗에게서 나와서 사자들을 보내어 아브넬을 쫓아가게 하였더니 시라 우물 가에서 저를 데리고 돌아왔으나 다윗은 알지 못하였더라
27 And when Abner was returned to Hebron, Joab took him asideinthegate to speak with him quietly, and smote him there under the fifthrib, that he died, for the blood of Asahel his brother.[x]MKJV: And Abner returned to Hebron. And Joab took him aside in the gate to speak with him privately. And [he] struck him there in the belly, and he died, for the blood of Asahel his brother. BBE: And when Abner was back in Hebron, Joab took him on one side by the doorway of the town to have a word with him quietly, and there he gave him a wound in the stomach, causing his death in payment for the death of his brother Asahel. 27 And when Abner was back in Hebron, Joab took him on one side by the doorway of the town to have a word with him quietly, and there he gave him a wound in the stomach, causing his death in payment for the death of his brother Asahel.
27 아브넬이 헤브론으로 돌아 오매 요압이 더불어 종용히 말하려는 듯이 저를 데리고 성문으로 들어가서 거기서 배를 찔러 죽이니 이는 자기의 동생 아사헬의 피를 인함이더라
28 And afterward when Davidheardit, he said, I and my kingdomareguiltless before the LORDforever from the blood of Abner the son of Ner:[x]MKJV: And afterward David heard, and said, My kingdom and I [are] guiltless before the LORD forever from the blood of Abner the son of Ner. 28 And when David had word of it he said, May I and my kingdom be clear for ever in the eyes of the Lord from the blood of Abner, the son of Ner:

29 Let it rest on the head of Joab, and on all his father'shouse; and let there not fail from the house of Joab one that hath an issue, or that is a leper, or that leaneth on a staff, or that falleth on the sword, or that lackethbread.[x]MKJV: Let it whirl about the head of Joab, and on all his father's house. And let there not fail from the house of Joab one who has an issue, or who is a leper, or who leans on a staff, or who falls on the sword, or who lacks bread. 29 May it come on the head of Joab and all his father's family: among the men of Joab's family may there ever be some who are diseased or lepers, or who do the work of women, or are put to the sword, or are wasted from need of food!
29 그 죄가 요압의 머리와 그 아비의 온 집으로 돌아갈찌어다 또 요압의 집에서 백탁병자나 문둥병자나 지팡이를 의지하는 자나 칼에 죽는 자나 양식이 핍절한 자가 끊어지지 아니할찌로다 하니라
30 So Joab and Abishai his brotherslewAbner, because he had slain their brotherAsahel at Gibeon in the battle.[x]MKJV: And Joab and Abishai his brother killed Abner, because he had slain their brother Asahel at Gibeon in the battle. BBE: So Joab and Abishai his brother put Abner to death, because he had put to death their brother Asahel in the fight at Gibeon. 30 So Joab and Abishai his brother put Abner to death, because he had put to death their brother Asahel in the fight at Gibeon.

31 And Davidsaid to Joab, and to all the people that were with him, Rend your clothes, and gird you with sackcloth, and mournbeforeAbner. 31 And David said to Joab and all the people who were with him, Go in grief and put haircloth about you, in sorrow for Abner. And King David went after the dead body.
31 다윗이 요압과 및 자기와 함께 있는 모든 백성에게 이르되 너희는 옷을 찢고 굵은 베를 띠고 아브넬 앞에서 애통하라 하니라 다윗왕이 상여를 따라 가서
32 And they buriedAbner in Hebron: and the king lifted up his voice, and wept at the grave of Abner; and all the peoplewept.[x]MKJV: And they buried Abner in Hebron. 32 And they put Abner's body to rest in Hebron; and the king and all the people were weeping loudly by the resting-place of Abner's body.

33 And the kinglamented over Abner, and said, DiedAbner as a fooldieth?[x]MKJV: And the king mourned over Abner and said, Did Abner die like a fool dies? BBE: And the king made a song of grief for Abner and said, Was the death of Abner to be like the death of a foolish man? KAV: 왕이 아브넬을 위해 애곡하며 이르되, 아브넬이 어리석은 자가 죽듯이 죽었는가? 33 And the king made a song of grief for Abner and said, Was the death of Abner to be like the death of a foolish man?

34 Thy handswere not bound, nor thy feetput into fetters: as a man fallethbeforewickedmen, sofellest thou. And all the peopleweptagain over him.[x]MKJV: Your hands [were] not bound, nor your feet put into fetters; as a man falls before wicked men, so you fell. And all the people wept again over him. BBE: Your hands were free, your feet were not chained: like the downfall of a man before evil men, so was your fall. And the weeping of the people over him went on again. 34 Your hands were free, your feet were not chained: like the downfall of a man before evil men, so was your fall. And the weeping of the people over him went on again.
34 네 손이 결박되지 아니하였고 네 발이 착고에 채이지 아니하였거늘 불의한 자식의 앞에 엎드러짐 같이 네가 엎드러졌도다 하매 온 백성이 다시 그를 슬퍼하여 우니라
35 And when all the peoplecame to causeDavid to eatmeat while it was yetday, Davidsware, saying, So doGod to me, and more also, if I tastebread, or ought else, till the sun be down.[x]MKJV: And all the people came to cause David to eat food while it was still day; David swore, saying, So let God do to me, and more also, if I taste bread or anything else until the sun is down. BBE: And the people came to make David take food, while it was still day, but David with an oath said, May God's punishment be on me if I take a taste of bread or any other thing till the sun has gone down! 35 석양에 뭇 백성이 나아와 다윗에게 음식을 권하니 다윗이 맹세하여 가로되 내가 해 지기 전에 떡이나 다른 것을 맛보면 하나님이 내게 벌 위에 벌을 내리심이 마땅하니라 하매
36 And all the people took noticeof it, and it pleasedㆍ them: as whatsoever the kingdidpleasedall the people.[x]MKJV: And all the people took notice, and it pleased them, as whatever the king did pleased all the people. BBE: And all the people took note of it and were pleased: like everything the king did, it was pleasing to the people. 36 And all the people took note of it and were pleased: like everything the king did, it was pleasing to the people.

38 And the kingsaid unto his servants, Know ye not that there is a prince and a great manfallen this day in Israel?[x]MKJV: And the king said to his servants, Do you not know that there is a prince and a great man fallen this day in Israel? BBE: And the king said to his servants, Do you not see that a chief and a great man has come to his end today in Israel? KAV: 왕이 자기 신하들에게 이르되, 통치자요, 위대한 사람이 이 날 이스라엘에서 쓰러진 것을 너희가 알지 못하느냐? 38 And the king said to his servants, Do you not see that a chief and a great man has come to his end today in Israel?

39 And I am this dayweak, though anointedking; and these men the sons of Zeruiahbe too hard for me: the LORD shall reward the doer of evil according to his wickedness.[x]MKJV: And I [am] weak this day, though anointed king. And these men, the sons of Zeruiah, [are] too hard for me. The LORD shall reward the doer of evil according to his wickedness. 39 내가 기름 부음을 받은 왕이 되었으나 오늘날 약하여서 스루야의 아들인 이 사람들을 제어하기가 너무 어려우니 여호와는 악행한 자에게 그 악한대로 갚으실찌로다 하니라
