1 Now Elisha had said to the woman whose son he had given back to life, Go now, with all the people of your house, and get a living-place for yourselves wherever you are able; for by the word of the Lord, there will be great need of food in the land; and this will go on for seven years.
1 엘리사가 이전에 아들을 다시 살려준 여인에게 이르되 너는 일어나서 네 권속과 함께 거할만한 곳으로 가서 거하라 여호와께서 기근을 명하셨으니 그대로 이 땅에 칠년 동안 임하리라

3 And it came to pass at the sevenyearsend, that the womanreturned out of the land of the Philistines: and she went forth to cry unto the king for her house and for her land.[x]MKJV: And it happened at the end of seven years, the woman returned out of the land of the Philistines. And she went forth to cry to the king for her house and for her land. BBE: And when the seven years were ended, the woman came back from the land of the Philistines and went to the king with a request for her house and her land. KAV: 칠 년이 끝나매 블레셋 사람들의 땅에서 돌아와 자기 집과 땅을 찾기 위해 호소하려고 왕에게 나아갔더라.

4 And the kingtalked with Gehazi the servant of the man of God, saying, Tell me, I pray thee, all the great things that Elisha hath done.[x]MKJV: And the king was talking with Gehazi, the servant of the man of God, saying, Please tell me all the great things which Elisha has done. BBE: Now the king was talking with Gehazi, the servant of the man of God, saying, Now, give me an account of all the great things Elisha has done. KAV: 왕이 [하나님]의 사람의 종 게하시와 이야기하며 이르되, 원하건대 엘리사가 행한 모든 큰일을 내게 고하라, 하니
4 Now the king was talking with Gehazi, the servant of the man of God, saying, Now, give me an account of all the great things Elisha has done.
4 때에 왕이 하나님의 사람의 사환 게하시와 서로 말씀하며 가로되 너는 엘리사의 행한 모든 큰 일을 내게 고하라 하니
5 And it came to pass, as he was telling the king how he had restored a dead body to life, that, behold, the woman, whose son he had restored to life, cried to the king for her house and for her land. 5 And while he was giving the king the story of how Elisha had given life to the dead, the woman whose son had come back to life came to the king with a request for her house and her land. And Gehazi said, My lord king, this is the woman and this is her son, whose life Elisha gave back to him.
5 게하시가 곧 엘리사가 죽은 자를 다시 살린 일을 왕에게 이야기할 때에 그 다시 살린 아이의 어미가 자기 집과 전토를 위하여 왕에게 호소하는지라 게하시가 가로되 내 주 왕이여 이는 그 여인이요 저는 그 아들이니 곧 엘리사가 다시 살린 자니이다
6 And when the kingasked the woman, she told him. So the kingappointed unto her a certainofficer, saying, Restore all that was hers, and all the fruits of the field since the day that she left the land, even until now.[x]MKJV: And when the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed to her a certain eunuch saying, Restore all that [was] hers, and all the fruits of the field since the day when she left the land, even until now. BBE: And in answer to the king's questions, the woman gave him all the story. So the king gave orders to one of his unsexed servants, saying, Give her back all her property, and all the produce of her fields from the day when she went away from the land up till now. KAV: 왕이 그 여인에게 물으매 여인이 왕에게 고하니라. 이에 왕이 그 여인을 위해 어떤 관리 하나를 임명하여 이르되, 이 여인에게 속한 모든 것과 이 여인이 그 땅에서 떠난 날부터 지금까지 그 밭에서 난 열매를 다 돌려주라, 하였더라.
6 And in answer to the king's questions, the woman gave him all the story. So the king gave orders to one of his unsexed servants, saying, Give her back all her property, and all the produce of her fields from the day when she went away from the land up till now.
6 왕이 그 여인에게 물으매 여인이 고한지라 왕이 저를 위하여 한 관리를 임명하여 가로되 무릇 이 여인에게 속한 것과 이 땅에서 떠날 때부터 이제까지 그 밭의 소출을 다 돌려주라 하였더라
7 And Elishacame to Damascus; and Benhadad the king of Syria was sick; and it was told him, saying, The man of God is comehither.[x]MKJV: And Elisha came to Damascus. And Ben-hadad the king of Syria was sick. And they told him, saying, The man of God has come here. BBE: And Elisha came to Damascus; and Ben-hadad, king of Aram, was ill; and they said to him, The man of God has come. KAV: ¶ 엘리사가 다마스커스에 이르렀을 때에 시리아 왕 벤하닷이 병들었더라. 어떤 이가 왕에게 고하여 이르되, [하나님]의 사람이 여기 이르렀나이다, 하매
7 And Elisha came to Damascus; and Ben-hadad, king of Aram, was ill; and they said to him, The man of God has come.
7 엘리사가 다메섹에 갔을 때에 아람 왕 벤하닷이 병들었더니 혹이 왕에게 고하여 가로되 하나님의 사람이 여기 이르렀나이다
8 And the kingsaid unto Hazael, Take a present in thine hand, and go, meet the man of God, and inquire of the LORD by him, saying, Shall I recover of this disease?[x]MKJV: And the king said to Hazael, Take a present in your hand and go to meet the man of God, and ask of the LORD by him, saying, Shall I recover of this disease? BBE: Then the king said to Hazael, Take an offering with you, and go to see the man of God and get directions from the Lord by him, saying, Am I going to get better from my disease? KAV: 왕이 하사엘에게 이르되, 너는 손에 예물을 가지고 가서 [하나님]의 사람을 만나고 그를 통해 {주}께 여쭈어 이르되, 내가 이 병에서 낫겠나이까? 하라, 하니라.
8 Then the king said to Hazael, Take an offering with you, and go to see the man of God and get directions from the Lord by him, saying, Am I going to get better from my disease?
8 왕이 하사엘에게 이르되 너는 손에 예물을 가지고 가서 하나님의 사람을 맞고 저로 말미암아 여호와께 나의 이 병이 낫겠나 물으라
9 So Hazaelwent to meet him, and took a present with him, even of every good thing of Damascus, fortycamelsburden, and came and stoodbefore him, and said, Thy sonBenhadadking of Syria hath sent me to thee, saying, Shall I recover of this disease?[x]MKJV: And Hazael went to meet him and took a present with him, even of every good thing of Damascus, forty camels' burden, and came and stood before him, and said, Your servant Ben-hadad, king of Syria, has sent me to you, saying, Shall I recover from this disease? BBE: So Hazael went to see him, taking with him forty camels with offerings on their backs of every sort of good thing from Damascus; and when he came before him, he said, Your son Ben-hadad, king of Aram, has sent me to you, saying, Will I get better from this disease? KAV: 이에 하사엘이 그를 만나러 가면서 다마스커스의 모든 좋은 물건을 예물로 취하여 마흔 마리 낙타의 짐으로 싣고 나아가 그 앞에 서서 이르되, 당신의 아들 시리아 왕 벤하닷이 나를 당신에게 보내어 말하기를, 내가 이 병에서 낫겠나이까? 하더이다, 하니
9 So Hazael went to see him, taking with him forty camels with offerings on their backs of every sort of good thing from Damascus; and when he came before him, he said, Your son Ben-hadad, king of Aram, has sent me to you, saying, Will I get better from this disease?
9 하사엘이 드디어 맞으러 갈쌔 다메섹 모든 아름다운 물품으로 예물을 삼아가지고 약대 사십에 싣고 나아가서 저의 앞에 서서 가로되 당신의 아들 아람 왕 벤하닷이 나를 당신에게 보내어 가로되 나의 이 병이 낫겠나이까 하더이다
10 And Elishasaid unto him, Go, say unto him, Thou mayest certainlyrecover: howbeit the LORD hath showed me that he shall surelydie.[x]MKJV: And Elisha said to him, Go and say to him, You shall certainly recover. But the LORD has shown me that he shall surely die. BBE: And Elisha said to him, Go, say to him, You will certainly get better; but the Lord has made it clear to me that only death is before him. KAV: 엘리사가 그에게 이르되, 가서 그에게 말하기를, 왕이 반드시 나으시리라, 하라. 그러나 {주}께서 그가 반드시 죽을 것을 내게 보여 주셨느니라, 하고
10 And Elisha said to him, Go, say to him, You will certainly get better; but the Lord has made it clear to me that only death is before him.
10 엘리사가 가로되 너는 가서 저에게 고하기를 왕이 정녕 나으리라 하라 그러나 여호와께서 저가 정녕 죽으리라고 내게 알게 하셨느니라 하고
11 And he settled his countenancestedfastly, until he was ashamed: and the man of Godwept.[x]MKJV: And he settled his face steadfastly until he was ashamed. And the man of God wept. BBE: And he kept his eyes fixed on him till he was shamed, and the man of God was overcome with weeping. KAV: [하나님]의 사람이 그가 민망히 여길 때까지 얼굴을 움직이지 아니하며 울더라.
11 And he kept his eyes fixed on him till he was shamed, and the man of God was overcome with weeping.

12 And Hazaelsaid, Why weepeth my lord? And he answered, Because I know the evil that thou wilt do unto the children of Israel: their strong holds wilt thou set on fire, and their young men wilt thou slay with the sword, and wilt dash their children, and rip up their women with child.[x]MKJV: And Hazael said, Why does my lord weep? And he answered, Because I know the evil that you will do to the sons of Israel. You will set their strongholds on fire, and you will kill their young men with the sword, and will dash their children, and rip up their women with child. BBE: And Hazael said, Why is my lord weeping? Then he said in answer, Because I see the evil which you will do to the children of Israel: burning down their strong towns, putting their young men to death with the sword, smashing their little ones against the stones, and cutting open the women who are with child. KAV: 하사엘이 이르되, 내 주께서 어찌하여 우시나이까? 하니 그가 대답하되, 네가 이스라엘 자손에게 행할 모든 악을 내가 알기 때문이니라. 네가 그들의 요새들에 불을 놓으며 그들의 청년들을 칼로 죽이고 그들의 자녀들을 내던지며 아이 밴 그들의 여인들을 잡아 찢으리라, 하매
12 And Hazael said, Why is my lord weeping? Then he said in answer, Because I see the evil which you will do to the children of Israel: burning down their strong towns, putting their young men to death with the sword, smashing their little ones against the stones, and cutting open the women who are with child.
12 하사엘이 가로되 내 주여 어찌하여 우시나이까 대답하되 네가 이스라엘 자손에게 행할 모든 악을 내가 앎이라 네가 저희 성에 불을 놓으며 장정을 칼로 죽이며 어린 아이를 메어치며 아이 밴 부녀를 가르리라
13 And Hazaelsaid, But what, is thy servant a dog, that he should do this greatthing? And Elishaanswered, The LORD hath showed me that thou shalt beking over Syria.[x]MKJV: And Hazael said, What! [Is] your servant a dog, that he should do this great thing? And Elisha answered, The LORD has shown me that you [shall be] king over Syria. BBE: And Hazael said, How is it possible that your servant, who is only a dog, will do this great thing? And Elisha said, The Lord has made it clear to me that you will be king over Aram. KAV: 하사엘이 이르되, 그런데 개 같은 당신의 종이 무엇이기에 이런 큰일을 행하오리이까? 하니 엘리사가 대답하되, {주}께서 네가 시리아를 다스릴 왕이 될 것을 내게 보여 주셨느니라, 하니라.
13 And Hazael said, How is it possible that your servant, who is only a dog, will do this great thing? And Elisha said, The Lord has made it clear to me that you will be king over Aram.
13 하사엘이 가로되 당신의 개 같은 종이 무엇이관대 이런 큰 일을 행하오리이까 엘리사가 대답하되 여호와께서 네가 아람 왕이 될 것을 내게 알게 하셨느니라
14 So he departed from Elisha, and came to his master; who said to him, What saidElisha to thee? And he answered, He told me that thou shouldest surelyrecover.[x]MKJV: And he departed from Elisha and came to his master, who said to him, What did Elisha say to you? And he answered, He told me you would surely recover. BBE: Then he went away from Elisha and came in to his master, who said to him, What did Elisha say to you? And his answer was, He said that you would certainly get well. KAV: 이에 그가 엘리사에게서 떠나 자기 주인에게 나아가니 그가 이르되, 엘리사가 네게 무슨 말을 하더냐? 하매 그가 대답하되, 그가 내게 왕이 반드시 나을 것을 고하더이다, 하고
14 Then he went away from Elisha and came in to his master, who said to him, What did Elisha say to you? And his answer was, He said that you would certainly get well.
14 저가 엘리사를 떠나가서 그 주인에게 나아가니 왕이 묻되 엘리사가 네게 무슨 말을 하더냐 대답하되 저가 내게 이르기를 왕이 정녕 나으시리라 하더이다
15 And it came to pass on the morrow, that he took a thick cloth, and dippedit in water, and spreadit on his face, so that he died: and Hazaelreigned in his stead.[x]MKJV: And it happened on the next day he took a thick cloth and dipped [it] in water, and spread it on his face so that he died. And Hazael reigned in his place. BBE: Now on the day after, Hazael took the bed-cover, and making it wet with water, put it over Ben-hadad's face, causing his death: and Hazael became king in his place. KAV: 그 다음 날 하사엘이 두꺼운 이불을 취해 물에 적셔서 왕의 얼굴에 덮으매 왕이 죽으니 하사엘이 그를 대신하여 통치하니라.
15 Now on the day after, Hazael took the bed-cover, and making it wet with water, put it over Ben-hadad's face, causing his death: and Hazael became king in his place.

16 And in the fifthyear of Joram the son of Ahabking of Israel, Jehoshaphatbeing then king of Judah, Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphatking of Judah began to reign.[x]MKJV: And in the fifth year of Jehoram the son of Ahab king of Israel, Jehoshaphat [being] then king of Judah, Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah began to reign. BBE: In the fifth year of Joram, the son of Ahab, king of Israel, Jehoram, the son of Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, became king. KAV: ¶ 이스라엘 왕 아합의 아들 요람의 제오년에 여호사밧이 유다의 왕이었을 때에 유다 왕 여호사밧의 아들 여호람이 통치하기 시작하니라.
16 In the fifth year of Joram, the son of Ahab, king of Israel, Jehoram, the son of Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, became king.
16 이스라엘 왕 아합의 아들 요람 제 오년에 유다 왕 여호사밧이 오히려 위에 있을 때에 그 아들 여호람이 왕이 되니라
17Thirty and twoyearsold was he when he began to reign; and he reignedeightyears in Jerusalem.[x]MKJV: And he was thirty-two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem. BBE: He was thirty-two years old when he became king; and he was ruling in Jerusalem for eight years. KAV: 그가 통치하기 시작할 때에 나이가 삼십이 세더라. 그가 예루살렘에서 팔 년 동안 통치하니라.

18 And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab: for the daughter of Ahab was his wife: and he didevil in the sight of the LORD.[x]MKJV: And he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, as the house of Ahab did; for the daughter of Ahab was his wife. And he did evil in the sight of the LORD. BBE: He went in the ways of the kings of Israel, as the family of Ahab did: for the daughter of Ahab was his wife; and he did evil in the eyes of the Lord. 18 He went in the ways of the kings of Israel, as the family of Ahab did: for the daughter of Ahab was his wife; and he did evil in the eyes of the Lord.
18 저가 이스라엘 왕들의 길로 행하여 아합의 집과 같이 하였으니 이는 아합의 딸이 그 아내가 되었음이라 저가 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하였으나
19 Yet the LORDwould not destroyJudah for David his servant's sake, as he promised him to give him alway a light, and to his children.[x]MKJV: Yet the LORD would not destroy Judah for David His servant's sake, as He promised him to give him a light to his sons forever BBE: But it was not the Lord's purpose to send destruction on Judah, because of David his servant, to whom he had given his word that he would have a light for ever. KAV: 그럼에도 {주}께서 자신의 종 다윗과 그의 자손들에게 항상 등불을 주겠다고 약속하신 대로 다윗으로 인하여 유다를 멸하려 하지 아니하셨더라.
19 But it was not the Lord's purpose to send destruction on Judah, because of David his servant, to whom he had given his word that he would have a light for ever.
19 여호와께서 그 종 다윗을 위하여 유다 멸하기를 즐겨하지 아니하셨으니 이는 저와 그 자손에게 항상 등불을 주겠다고 허하셨음이더라
20 In his daysEdomrevolted from under the hand of Judah, and made a king over themselves.[x]MKJV: In his days Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah, and made a king over themselves. BBE: In his time, Edom made themselves free from the rule of Judah, and took a king for themselves. KAV: ¶ 그의 시대에 에돔이 배반하여 유다의 손 밑에서 벗어나 자기들을 다스릴 왕을 세웠으므로

21 Then Joram went over to Zair, with all his war-carriages; ...made an attack by night on the Edomites, whose forces were all round him, ...the captains of the war-carriages; and the people went in flight to their tents.
21 여호람이 모든 병거를 거느리고 사일로 갔더니 밤에 일어나 자기를 에워싼 에돔 사람과 그 병거의 장관들을 치니 이에 백성이 도망하여 각각 그 장막으로 돌아갔더라
22 Yet Edomrevolted from under the hand of Judah unto this day. Then Libnahrevolted at the sametime.[x]MKJV: Yet Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah to this day. Then Libnah revolted at the same time. BBE: So Edom made themselves free from the rule of Judah to this day. And at the same time, Libnah made itself free. KAV: 그럼에도 에돔이 배반하여 유다의 손 밑에서 벗어나 이 날까지 이르렀으며 바로 그때에 립나도 배반하였더라.

25 이스라엘 왕 아합의 아들 요람 제 십이년에 유다 왕 여호람의 아들 아하시야가 왕이 되니
26Two and twentyyearsoldwasAhaziah when he began to reign; and he reignedoneyear in Jerusalem. 26 Ahaziah was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he was ruling in Jerusalem for one year. His mother's name was Athaliah, the daughter of Omri, king of Israel.
26 아하시야가 위에 나아갈 때에 나이 이십이세라 예루살렘에서 일년을 치리하니라 그 모친의 이름은 아달랴라 이스라엘 왕 오므리의 손녀더라
27 And he walked in the way of the house of Ahab, and didevil in the sight of the LORD, as did the house of Ahab: for he was the son in law of the house of Ahab.[x]MKJV: And he walked in the way of the house of Ahab, and did evil in the sight of the LORD, as the house of Ahab, for he [was] the son-in-law of the house of Ahab. BBE: He went in the ways of the family of Ahab, and did evil in the eyes of the Lord as the family of Ahab did, for he was a son-in-law of the family of Ahab. KAV: 아하시야가 아합의 집의 길로 걸으며 아합의 집이 행한 것 같이 {주}의 눈앞에서 악을 행하였으니 이는 그가 아합의 집 사위였기 때문이더라.
27 He went in the ways of the family of Ahab, and did evil in the eyes of the Lord as the family of Ahab did, for he was a son-in-law of the family of Ahab.
27 아하시야가 아합의 집 길로 행하여 아합의 집과 같이 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하였으니 저는 아합의 집의 사위가 되었음이러라
28 And he went with Joram the son of Ahab to the war against Hazaelking of Syria in Ramothgileadㆍ; and the SyrianswoundedJoram.[x]MKJV: And he went with Jehoram the son of Ahab to the war against Hazael king of Syria in Ramoth of Gilead. And the Syrians wounded Jehoram. BBE: He went with Joram, the son of Ahab, to make war on Hazael, king of Aram, at Ramoth-gilead: and Joram was wounded by the Aramaeans. KAV: ¶ 그가 가서 아합의 아들 요람과 함께 라못길르앗에서 시리아 왕 하사엘과 싸웠는데 시리아 사람들이 요람을 상하게 하므로
28 He went with Joram, the son of Ahab, to make war on Hazael, king of Aram, at Ramoth-gilead: and Joram was wounded by the Aramaeans.
28 저가 아합의 아들 요람과 함께 길르앗 라못으로 가서 아람 왕 하사엘로 더불어 싸우더니 아람 사람들이 요람을 상하게 한지라
29 And kingJoram went back to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him at Ramah, when he fought against Hazaelking of Syria. And Ahaziah the son of Jehoramking of Judah went down to seeJoram the son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was sick.[x]MKJV: And king Jehoram went back to be healed in Jezreel from the wounds which the Syrians had given him in Ramah, when he fought against Hazael king of Syria. And Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to see Jehoram the son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was sick. BBE: So King Joram went back to Jezreel to get well from the wounds which the bowmen had given him at Ramah, when he was fighting against Hazael, king of Aram. And Ahaziah, the son of Jehoram, king of Judah, went down to see Joram, the son of Ahab, in Jezreel, because he was ill. KAV: 요람 왕이 시리아 왕 하사엘과 싸우다가 라마에서 시리아 사람들이 입힌 상처를 치료받으려고 예스르엘로 돌아갔더라. 아합의 아들 요람이 병들었으므로 유다 왕 여호람의 아들 아하시야가 그를 보려고 예스르엘로 내려갔더라.
29 So King Joram went back to Jezreel to get well from the wounds which the bowmen had given him at Ramah, when he was fighting against Hazael, king of Aram. And Ahaziah, the son of Jehoram, king of Judah, went down to see Joram, the son of Ahab, in Jezreel, because he was ill.
29 요람왕이 아람 왕 하사엘과 싸울 때에 라마에서 아람 사람에게 맞아 상한 것을 치료하려 하여 이스르엘로 돌아왔더라 아합의 아들 요람이 병이 있으므로 유다 왕 여호람의 아들 아하시야가 이스르엘에 내려가서 방문하였더라
