1 Now there cried a certainwoman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor is come to take unto him my twosons to be bondmen.[x]MKJV: And a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried to Elisha, saying, Your servant my husband is dead. And you know that your servant feared the LORD. And the lender has come to take my two children to himself for slaves. BBE: Now a certain woman, the wife of one of the sons of the prophets, came crying to Elisha and said, Your servant my husband is dead; and to your knowledge he was a worshipper of the Lord; but now, the creditor has come to take my two children as servants in payment of his debt. 1 Now a certain woman, the wife of one of the sons of the prophets, came crying to Elisha and said, Your servant my husband is dead; and to your knowledge he was a worshipper of the Lord; but now, the creditor has come to take my two children as servants in payment of his debt.

2 And Elishasaid unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.[x]MKJV: And Elisha said to her, What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house? And she said, Your handmaid has not a thing in the house except a pot of oil. BBE: Then Elisha said to her, What am I to do for you? say now, what have you in the house? And she said, Your servant has nothing in the house but a pot of oil. KAV: 엘리사가 그녀에게 이르되, 내가 너를 위해 무엇을 하랴? 네 집에 무엇이 있는지 내게 고하라, 하니 그녀가 이르되, 당신의 여종의 집에는 기름 한 항아리 외에 아무것도 없나이다, 하매
2 Then Elisha said to her, What am I to do for you? say now, what have you in the house? And she said, Your servant has nothing in the house but a pot of oil.

3 Then he said, Go, borrow thee vesselsabroad of all thy neighbours, evenemptyvessels; borrow not a few.[x]MKJV: And he said, Go, borrow vessels for yourself from outside, from your neighbors, empty vessels. Do not let [them] be few. BBE: Then he said, Go out to all your neighbours and get vessels, a very great number of them. KAV: 그때에 그가 이르되, 나가서 네 모든 이웃에게서 그릇을 빌려 오라. 빈 그릇을 빌리되 몇 개만 빌리지 말고
3 Then he said, Go out to all your neighbours and get vessels, a very great number of them.
3 가로되 너는 밖에 나가서 모든 이웃에게 그릇을 빌라 빈 그릇을 빌되 조금 빌지 말고
4 And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full.[x]MKJV: And you shall go in and shut the door on you and your sons. And you shall pour out into all those vessels. And you shall set aside the full ones. BBE: Then go in, and, shutting the door on yourself and your sons, put oil into all these vessels, putting on one side the full ones. KAV: 너는 들어가 너와 네 아들들 뒤로 문을 닫고 그 모든 그릇에 기름을 부어서 가득 찬 것을 옆으로 놓으라, 하니라.

They brought to her, and she poured out. BBE: So she went away, and when the door was shut on her and her sons, they took the vessels to her and she put oil into them. KAV: 이에 그녀가 그를 떠나서 자기와 또 자기에게 그릇들을 가져온 자기 아들들 뒤로 문을 닫고 기름을 부었더니
5 So she went away, and when the door was shut on her and her sons, they took the vessels to her and she put oil into them.

6 And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oilstayed.[x]MKJV: And it happened when the vessels were full, she said to her son, Bring me another vessel. And he said to her, [There is] not a vessel left. And the oil stopped. BBE: And when all the vessels were full, she said to her son, Get me another vessel. And he said, There are no more. And the flow of oil was stopped. KAV: 그릇들이 차므로 그녀가 자기 아들에게 이르되, 또 그릇을 내게로 가져오라, 하매 그가 그녀에게 이르되, 더 이상 그릇이 없나이다, 하니 기름이 그쳤더라.
6 And when all the vessels were full, she said to her son, Get me another vessel. And he said, There are no more. And the flow of oil was stopped.
6 그릇에 다 찬지라 여인이 아들에게 이르되 또 그릇을 내게로 가져 오라 아들이 가로되 다른 그릇이 없나이다 하니 기름이 곧 그쳤더라
7 Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest.[x]MKJV: And she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil and pay your debt, and you and your sons shall live from the rest. BBE: So she came to the man of God and gave him word of what she had done. And he said, Go and get money for the oil and make payment of your debt, and let the rest be for the needs of yourself and your sons. KAV: 그때에 그 여인이 [하나님]의 사람에게 나아가 고하니 그가 이르되, 가서 기름을 팔아 빚을 갚고 남은 것으로 너와 네 아이들이 생활하라, 하였더라.
7 So she came to the man of God and gave him word of what she had done. And he said, Go and get money for the oil and make payment of your debt, and let the rest be for the needs of yourself and your sons.
7 그 여인이 하나님의 사람에게 나아가서 고한대 저가 가로되 너는 가서 기름을 팔아 빚을 갚고 남은 것으로 너와 네 두 아들이 생활하라 하였더라
8 And it fell on a day, that Elishapassed to Shunem, where was a greatwoman; and she constrained him to eatbread. And so it was, that as oft as he passed by, he turned in thither to eatbread.[x]MKJV: And the day came when Elisha passed over to Shunem. And a great woman [was] there. And she laid hold on him to eat bread. And it happened, as often as he passed by, he turned in there to eat bread. BBE: Now there came a day when Elisha went to Shunem, and there was a woman of high position living there, who made him come in and have a meal with her. And after that, every time he went by, he went into her house for a meal. KAV: ¶ 하루는 엘리사가 수넴에 이르렀는데 거기에 창대한 여인 하나가 있더라. 그녀가 그에게 강권하여 빵을 먹게 하므로 엘리사가 지날 때마다 빵을 먹으러 거기로 들어갔더라.
8 Now there came a day when Elisha went to Shunem, and there was a woman of high position living there, who made him come in and have a meal with her. And after that, every time he went by, he went into her house for a meal.
8 하루는 엘리사가 수넴에 이르렀더니 거기 한 귀한 여인이 저를 간권하여 음식을 먹게 한고로 엘리사가 그곳을 지날 때마다 음식을 먹으러 그리로 들어갔더라
9 And she said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this is an holyman of God, which passeth by us continually.[x]MKJV: And she said to her husband, Behold now, I see that this [is] a holy man of God who passes by us continually. BBE: And she said to her husband, Now I see that this is a holy man of God, who comes by day after day. KAV: 그 여인이 자기 남편에게 이르되, 이제 보소서, 계속해서 우리 곁을 지나가는 이 사람은 [하나님]의 거룩한 사람인 줄 내가 아노니

10 Let us make a littlechamber, I pray thee, on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick: and it shall be, when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in thither.[x]MKJV: Please, let us make a little room on the wall. And let us set a bed for him there, and a table, and a stool, and a lampstand. And when he comes to us, he shall turn in there. BBE: So let us make a little room on the wall; and put a bed there for him, and a table and a seat and a light; so that when he comes to us, he will be able to go in there. KAV: 원하건대 우리가 작은 방을 담 위에 짓고 그를 위하여 거기에 침상과 상과 의자와 등잔대를 놓으사이다. 그가 우리에게 이르면 거기로 들어가리이다, 하였더라.
10 So let us make a little room on the wall; and put a bed there for him, and a table and a seat and a light; so that when he comes to us, he will be able to go in there.

11 And it fell on a day, that he came thither, and he turned into the chamber, and lay there.[x]MKJV: And the day came when he came in there, and he turned into the room and lay there. BBE: Now one day, when he had gone there, he went into the little room and took his rest there. KAV: 하루는 엘리사가 거기에 이르러 그 방에 들어가 거기에 눕고

And he called her, and she stood before him. BBE: And he said to Gehazi, his servant, Send for this Shunammite. So in answer to his voice she came before him. 13 And he said unto him, Say now unto her, Behold, thou hast been careful for us with all this care; what is to be done for thee? wouldest thou be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the host? And she answered, I dwellamong mine own people.[x]MKJV: And he said to him, Say now to her, Behold, you have been thoughtful for us with all this care. What [is] to be done for you? Would you be spoken for to the king or to the commander of the army? And she answered, I dwell among my own people. BBE: And he said to him, Now say to her, See, you have taken all this trouble for us; what is to be done for you? will you have any request made for you to the king or the captain of the army? But she said, I am living among my people. KAV: 엘리사가 자기 종에게 이르되, 이제 너는 그녀에게 말하기를, 보라, 네가 이 모든 배려로 우리를 위해 마음을 많이 쓰는도다. 너를 위해 무엇을 하랴? 너 대신 왕에게 혹은 군대 대장에게 말해 주기를 원하느냐? 하라, 하니 그 여인이 대답하되, 나는 내 백성 가운데 거하나이다, 하니라.
13 And he said to him, Now say to her, See, you have taken all this trouble for us; what is to be done for you? will you have any request made for you to the king or the captain of the army? But she said, I am living among my people.
13 엘리사가 자기 사환에게 이르되 너는 저에게 이르라 네가 이같이 우리를 위하여 생각이 주밀하도다 내가 너를 위하여 어떻게 하랴 왕에게나 군대장관에게 무슨 구할 것이 있느냐 여인이 가로되 나는 내 백성 중에 거하나이다 하니라
14 And he said, What then is to be done for her? And Gehazianswered, Verily she hath no child, and her husband is old.[x]MKJV: And he said, What then [is] to be done for her? And Gehazi answered, Truly, she has no child, and her husband is old. BBE: So he said, What then is to be done for her? And Gehazi made answer, Still there is this, she has no son and her husband is old. KAV: 엘리사가 이르되, 그러면 그녀를 위해 무엇을 하리요? 하매 게하시가 대답하되, 참으로 이 여인에게는 아이가 없고 그녀의 남편은 늙었나이다, 하거늘
14 So he said, What then is to be done for her? And Gehazi made answer, Still there is this, she has no son and her husband is old.
14 엘리사가 가로되 그러면 저를 위하여 무엇을 하여야 할꼬 게하시가 대답하되 참으로 이 여인은 아들이 없고 그 남편은 늙었나이다
15 And he said, Call her. And when he had called her, she stood in the door.[x]MKJV: And he said, Call her! And he called her, and she stood in the door. BBE: Then he said, Send for her. And in answer to his voice she took her place at the door. KAV: 그가 이르되, 그녀를 부르라, 하니 그가 그녀를 부르매 여인이 문에 서니라.
15 Then he said, Send for her. And in answer to his voice she took her place at the door.

16 And he said, About this season, according to the time of life, thou shalt embrace a son. And she said, Nay, my lord, thouman of God, do not lie unto thine handmaid.[x]MKJV: And he said, At this time, according to the time of life, you shall embrace a son. And she said, No, my lord, O man of God, do not lie to your handmaid. BBE: And Elisha said, At this time in the coming year you will have a son in your arms. And she said, No, my lord, O man of God, do not say what is false to your servant. KAV: 엘리사가 이르되, 생명의 때를 따라 이맘때에 네가 아들을 안으리라, 하니 그 여인이 이르되, 아니로소이다. 내 주 [하나님]의 사람이여, 당신의 여종에게 거짓말을 하지 마옵소서, 하니라.
16 And Elisha said, At this time in the coming year you will have a son in your arms. And she said, No, my lord, O man of God, do not say what is false to your servant.
16 엘리사가 가로되 돐이 되면 네가 아들을 안으리라 여인이 가로되 아니로소이다 내 주 하나님의 사람이여 당신의 계집종을 속이지 마옵소서 하니라
17 And the womanconceived, and bare a son at that season that Elisha had said unto her, according to the time of life.[x]MKJV: And the woman conceived and bore a son at that time that Elisha had said to her, according to the time of life. BBE: Then the woman became with child and gave birth to a son at the time named, in the year after, as Elisha had said to her. KAV: 그 여인이 수태하여 생명의 때를 따라 엘리사가 그녀에게 말해 준 그때에 아들을 낳았더라.

BBE: Now one day, when the child was older, he went out to his father to where the grain was being cut. KAV: ¶ 그 아이가 자라매 하루는 수확하는 자들에게로 나가서 자기 아버지에게 이르러

19 And he said to his father, My head, my head! And the father said to a servant, Take him in to his mother.

20 And when he had taken him, and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees till noon, and thendied.[x]MKJV: And he carried him and brought him to his mother And he sat on her knees until noon and died. BBE: And he took him in to his mother, and she took him on her knees and kept him there till the middle of the day, when his life went from him. KAV: 그가 그 아이를 취해 그의 어머니에게로 데려갔는데 그 아이가 정오까지 그녀의 무릎에 앉았다가 죽으니라.

BBE: And she said to her husband, Send me one of the servants and one of the asses so that I may go quickly to the man of God and come back again. KAV: 자기 남편을 불러 이르되, 원하건대 청년들 가운데 한 명과 나귀 가운데 한 마리를 내게로 보내소서. 내가 [하나님]의 사람에게 달려갔다가 돌아오리이다, 하니
22 And she said to her husband, Send me one of the servants and one of the asses so that I may go quickly to the man of God and come back again.
22 그 남편을 불러 이르되 청컨대 한 사환과 한 나귀를 내게로 보내소서 내가 하나님의 사람에게 달려갔다가 돌아오리이다
23 And he said, Wherefore wilt thou go to him to day? it is neither new moon, nor sabbath. And she said, It shall bewell.[x]MKJV: And he said, Why will you go to him today? [It is] neither new moon nor sabbath. And she said, [It is] well. BBE: And he said, Why are you going to him today? it is not a new moon or a Sabbath. But she said, It is well. KAV: 그가 이르되, 월삭도 아니요, 안식일도 아니거늘 그대가 어찌하여 오늘 그에게 나아가고자 하느냐? 하매 여인이 이르되, 평안하리이다, 하고
23 And he said, Why are you going to him today? it is not a new moon or a Sabbath. But she said, It is well.
23 그 남편이 가로되 초하루도 아니요 안식일도 아니어늘 그대가 오늘날 어찌하여 저에게 나아가고자 하느뇨 여인이 가로되 평안이니이다
24 Then she saddled an ass, and said to her servant, Drive, and go forward; slack not thyriding for me, except I bid thee.[x]MKJV: And she saddled an ass and said to her servant, Drive and go forward! Do not hold back [your] riding for me unless I tell you. BBE: Then she made the ass ready and said to her servant, Keep driving on; do not make a stop without orders from me. KAV: 이에 나귀에 안장을 얹으며 자기 종에게 이르되, 몰아서 앞으로 나아가라. 내가 명하지 아니하거든 나를 위해 모는 것을 늦추지 말라, 하니라.
24 Then she made the ass ready and said to her servant, Keep driving on; do not make a stop without orders from me.
24 이에 나귀에 안장을 지우고 자기 사환에게 이르되 몰아 앞으로 나아가라 내가 말하지 아니하거든 나의 달려가기를 천천하게 하지 말라 하고
25 So she went and came unto the man of God to mountCarmel. And it came to pass, when the man of God saw her afar off, that he said to Gehazi his servant, Behold, yonder isthatShunammite:[x]MKJV: And she went and came to the man of God, to Mount Carmel. And it happened when the man of God saw her afar off, he said to Gehazi his servant, Behold, the Shunammite. BBE: So she went, and came to Mount Carmel, to the man of God. And when the man of God saw her coming in his direction, he said to Gehazi, his servant, See, there is the Shunammite; KAV: 이처럼 그녀가 가서 갈멜 산으로 [하나님]의 사람에게로 나아가니라. [하나님]의 사람이 멀리서 그 여인을 보고 자기 종 게하시에게 이르되, 보라, 저기에 그 수넴 여인이 있도다.
25 So she went, and came to Mount Carmel, to the man of God. And when the man of God saw her coming in his direction, he said to Gehazi, his servant, See, there is the Shunammite;
25 드디어 갈멜산으로 가서 하나님의 사람에게로 나아가니라 하나님의 사람이 멀리서 저를 보고 자기 사환 게하시에게 이르되 저기 수넴 여인이 있도다
26Run now, I pray thee, to meet her, and say unto her, Is itwell with thee? is itwell with thy husband? is itwell with the child? And she answered, It iswell.[x]MKJV: Please run now to meet her, and say to her, [Is it] well with you? [Is it] well with your husband? [Is it] well with the boy? And she answered, Well! BBE: Go quickly to her, and on meeting her say to her, Are you well? and your husband and the child, are they well? And she said in answer, All is well. KAV: 원하건대 이제 달려가서 그녀를 맞이하며 그녀에게 말하기를, 너는 평안하냐? 네 남편은 평안하냐? 네 아이는 평안하냐? 하라, 하였더니 여인이 대답하되, 평안하나이다, 하고
26 Go quickly to her, and on meeting her say to her, Are you well? and your husband and the child, are they well? And she said in answer, All is well.
26 너는 달려가서 저를 맞아 이르기를 너는 평안하냐 네 남편이 평안하냐 아이가 평안하냐 하라 하였더니 여인이 대답하되 평안하다 하고
27 And when she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught him by the feet: but Gehazi came near to thrust her away. And the man of Godsaid, Let her alone; for her soulisvexed within her: and the LORD hath hidit from me, and hath not told me.[x]MKJV: And she came to the man of God to the hill, and she caught him by the feet. And Gehazi came near to push her away. And the man of God said, Let her alone, for her soul [is] troubled within her. And the LORD has hidden [it] from me and has not told me. BBE: And when she came to where the man of God was on the hill, she put her hands round his feet; and Gehazi came near with the purpose of pushing her away; but the man of God said, Let her be, for her soul is bitter in her; and the Lord has kept it secret from me, and has not given me word of it. KAV: 산에 이르러 [하나님]의 사람에게 나아가 그의 발을 붙잡으니라. 그러나 게하시가 가까이 와서 그녀를 밀어내고자 하매 [하나님]의 사람이 이르되, 그녀의 혼이 그녀의 속에서 괴로워하니 그녀를 가만 두라. {주}께서 그것을 내게 숨기시고 이르지 아니하셨도다, 하니라.
27 And when she came to where the man of God was on the hill, she put her hands round his feet; and Gehazi came near with the purpose of pushing her away; but the man of God said, Let her be, for her soul is bitter in her; and the Lord has kept it secret from me, and has not given me word of it.
27 산에 이르러 하나님의 사람에게 나아가서 그 발을 안은지라 게하시가 가까이 와서 저를 물리치고자 하매 하나님의 사람이 가로되 가만 두라 그 중심에 괴로움이 있다마는 여호와께서 내게 숨기시고 이르지 아니하셨도다
28 Then she said, Did I desire a son of my lord? did I not say, Do not deceive me?[x]MKJV: And she said, Did I desire a son from my lord? Did I not say, Do not deceive me? BBE: Then she said, Did I make a request to my lord for a son? did I not say, Do not give me false words? KAV: 그때에 여인이 이르되, 내가 내 주에게서 아들을 바라더이까? 내가 말하기를, 나를 속이지 마소서, 하지 아니하더이까? 하니
28 Then she said, Did I make a request to my lord for a son? did I not say, Do not give me false words?
28 여인이 가로되 내가 내 주께 아들을 구하더이까 나를 속이지 말라고 내가 말하지 아니하더이까
29 Then he said to Gehazi, Gird up thy loins, and take my staff in thine hand, and go thy way: if thou meet any man, salute him not; and if anysalute thee, answer him not again: and lay my staff upon the face of the child.[x]MKJV: Then he said to Gehazi, Bind up your loins and take my staff in your hand, and go. If you meet any man, do not greet him. And if any greet you, do not answer him again. And lay my staff on the face of the child. BBE: Then he said to Gehazi, Make yourself ready, and take my stick in your hand, and go: if you come across anyone on the way, give him no blessing, and if anyone gives you a blessing, give him no answer. 29 Then he said to Gehazi, Make yourself ready, and take my stick in your hand, and go: if you come across anyone on the way, give him no blessing, and if anyone gives you a blessing, give him no answer. And put my stick on the child's face.
29 엘리사가 게하시에게 이르되 네 허리를 묶고 내 지팡이를 손에 들고 가라 사람을 만나거든 인사하지 말며 사람이 네게 인사할찌라도 대답하지 말고 내 지팡이를 그 아이 얼굴에 놓으라
30 And the mother of the childsaid, As the LORDliveth, and as thy soulliveth, I will not leave thee. And he arose, and followedㆍ her.[x]MKJV: And the mother of the child said, [As] the LORD lives, and [as] your soul lives, I will not leave you. And he arose and followed her. BBE: But the mother of the child said, As the Lord is living and as your soul is living, I will not go back without you. So he got up and went with her. KAV: 그 아이의 어머니가 이르되, {주}께서 살아 계심과 당신의 혼이 살아 있음을 두고 맹세하옵나니 내가 당신을 떠나지 아니하리이다, 하매 엘리사가 일어나서 그 여인을 따라가니라.
30 But the mother of the child said, As the Lord is living and as your soul is living, I will not go back without you. So he got up and went with her.
30 아이의 어미가 가로되 여호와의 사심과 당신의 혼의 사심을 가리켜 맹세하노니 내가 당신을 떠나지 아니하리이다 엘리사가 이에 일어나 여인을 좇아가니라
31 And Gehazi passed onbefore them, and laid the staff upon the face of the child; but there was neither voice, nor hearing. Wherefore he went again to meet him, and told him, saying, The child is not awaked.[x]MKJV: And Gehazi passed on before them and laid the staff on the face of the child. But there [was] no voice nor hearing. And he turned back to meet him and told him, saying, The boy has not awakened. BBE: And Gehazi went on before them and put the stick on the child's face; but there was no voice, and no one gave attention. So he went back, and meeting him gave him the news, saying, The child is not awake. KAV: 게하시가 그들보다 앞서 가서 지팡이를 그 아이의 얼굴에 놓았으나 소리도 없고 듣는 것도 없었으므로 그가 돌아와서 엘리사를 맞으며 그에게 이르되, 아이가 깨지 아니하였나이다, 하니라.
31 And Gehazi went on before them and put the stick on the child's face; but there was no voice, and no one gave attention. So he went back, and meeting him gave him the news, saying, The child is not awake.
31 게하시가 저희의 앞서 가서 지팡이를 그 아이의 얼굴에 놓았으나 소리도 없고 듣는 모양도 없는지라 돌아와서 엘리사를 맞아 가로되 아이가 깨지 아니하였나이다
32 And when Elisha was come into the house, behold, the child was dead, andlaid upon his bed.[x]MKJV: And Elisha had come to the house. And behold, the boy was dead, and laid out on his bed. BBE: And when Elisha came into the house he saw the child dead, stretched on his bed. KAV: 엘리사가 집에 들어가니, 보라, 아이가 죽어서 자기 침상에 누워 있으므로
32 And when Elisha came into the house he saw the child dead, stretched on his bed.
32 엘리사가 집에 들어가 보니 아이가 죽었는데 자기의 침상에 눕혔는지라
33 He went in therefore, and shut the door upon them twain, and prayed unto the LORD.[x]MKJV: And he went in and shut the door on the two of them, and prayed to the LORD. BBE: So he went in, and shutting the door on the two of them, made prayer to the Lord. KAV: 그가 들어가 자기들 두 사람 뒤로 문을 닫았더라. 엘리사가 {주}께 기도하고
33 So he went in, and shutting the door on the two of them, made prayer to the Lord.
33 들어가서는 문을 닫으니 두 사람 뿐이라 엘리사가 여호와께 기도하고
34 And he went up, and lay upon the child, and put his mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands: and he stretched himself upon the child; and the flesh of the child waxed warm.[x]MKJV: And he went up and lay on the boy, and put his mouth on his mouth and his eyes on his eyes, and his hands on his hands. And he stretched himself on the boy. And the flesh of the boy became warm. BBE: Then he got up on the bed, stretching himself out on the child, and put his mouth on the child's mouth, his eyes on his eyes and his hands on his hands; and the child's body became warm. KAV: 아이 위로 올라가 그 위에 엎드리고는 자기의 입을 그의 입에, 자기의 눈을 그의 눈에, 자기의 손을 그의 손에 대고 그 아이 위에 자기 몸을 펴니 아이의 살이 따뜻하게 되니라.
34 Then he got up on the bed, stretching himself out on the child, and put his mouth on the child's mouth, his eyes on his eyes and his hands on his hands; and the child's body became warm.
34 아이의 위에 올라 엎드려 자기 입을 그 입에, 자기 눈을 그 눈에, 자기 손을 그 손에 대고 그 몸에 엎드리니 아이의 살이 차차 따뜻하더라
35 Then he returned, and walked in the housetoandfroㆍ; and went up, and stretched himself upon him: and the childsneezedseventimes, and the childopened his eyes.[x]MKJV: And he returned and walked in the house to and fro. And [he] went up and stretched himself on him. And the boy sneezed seven times, and the boy opened his eyes. BBE: Then he came back, and after walking once through the house and back, he went up, stretching himself out on the child seven times; and the child's eyes became open. KAV: 이에 엘리사가 돌아서서 집안에서 이리저리 다니다가 아이 위에 올라가 그 위에 자기 몸을 펴매 아이가 일곱 번 재채기를 하고 눈을 뜨므로
35 Then he came back, and after walking once through the house and back, he went up, stretching himself out on the child seven times; and the child's eyes became open.
35 엘리사가 내려서 집 안에서 한번 이리 저리 다니고 다시 아이 위에 올라 엎드리니 아이가 일곱번 재채기 하고 눈을 뜨는지라
36 And he calledGehazi, and said, Call this Shunammite. So he called her. And when she was come in unto him, he said, Take up thy son.[x]MKJV: And he called Gehazi and said, Call this Shunammite. And he called her, and she came in to him. And he said, Take up your son! BBE: And he gave orders to Gehazi, and said, Send for the Shunammite. And she came in answer to his voice. And he said, Take up your son. KAV: 엘리사가 게하시를 불러 이르되, 이 수넴 여인을 부르라, 하니 이에 그가 그녀를 부르매 여인이 들어가 그에게 이르니 엘리사가 이르되, 네 아들을 데려가라, 하매
36 And he gave orders to Gehazi, and said, Send for the Shunammite. And she came in answer to his voice. And he said, Take up your son.
36 엘리사가 게하시를 불러서 저 수넴 여인을 불러오라 하니 곧 부르매 여인이 들어가니 엘리사가 가로되 네 아들을 취하라
37 Then she went in, and fell at his feet, and bowed herself to the ground, and took up her son, and went out.[x]MKJV: And she went in and fell at his feet and bowed to the ground, and took up her son, and went out. BBE: And she came in, and went down on her face to the earth at his feet; then she took her son in her arms and went out. KAV: 그때에 여인이 들어가 엘리사의 발 앞에서 땅에 엎드려 절한 뒤 자기 아들을 안고 나가니라.

38 And Elisha came again to Gilgal: and there was a dearth in the land; and the sons of the prophetsweresittingbefore him: and he said unto his servant, Set on the greatpot, and seethepottage for the sons of the prophets.[x]MKJV: And Elisha came again to Gilgal. And [there was] a famine in the land. And the sons of the prophets [were] sitting before him. And he said to his servant, Set on the great pot and boil pottage for the sons of the prophets. BBE: And Elisha went back to Gilgal, now there was very little food in the land; and the sons of the prophets were seated before him. And he said to his servant, Put the great pot on the fire, and make soup for the sons of the prophets. KAV: ¶ 엘리사가 다시 길갈에 이르니라. 그 땅에 흉년이 들었는데 대언자들의 아들들이 엘리사 앞에 앉으매 엘리사가 자기 종에게 이르되, 큰 솥을 걸고 대언자들의 아들들을 위해 죽을 끓이라, 하니라.
38 And Elisha went back to Gilgal, now there was very little food in the land; and the sons of the prophets were seated before him. And he said to his servant, Put the great pot on the fire, and make soup for the sons of the prophets.
38 엘리사가 다시 길갈에 이르니 그 땅에 흉년이 들었는데 선지자의 생도가 엘리사의 앞에 앉은지라 엘리사가 자기 사환에게 이르되 큰 솥을 걸고 선지자의 생도들을 위하여 국을 끓이라 하매
39 And one went out into the field to gatherherbs, and found a wildvine, and gathered thereof wildgourds his lapfull, and came and shredthem into the pot of pottage: for they knewthem not.[x]MKJV: And one went out into the field to gather herbs. And he found a vine of the field, and gathered gourds from it in the field. And with the lap of his garment full, he came in and shredded [them] into the pot of pottage. For they did not know them. BBE: And one went out into the field to get green plants and saw a vine of the field, and pulling off the fruit of it till the fold of his robe was full, he came back and put the fruit, cut up small, into the pot of soup, having no idea what it was. KAV: 한 사람이 채소를 캐러 들에 나갔다가 야생 덩굴을 발견하고 그것에서 야생 박들을 따서 무릎 자락에 채워 가지고 돌아와 죽 끓이는 솥에 그것들을 썰어 넣었더라. 그들은 그것들이 무엇인지 알지 못하였더라.
39 And one went out into the field to get green plants and saw a vine of the field, and pulling off the fruit of it till the fold of his robe was full, he came back and put the fruit, cut up small, into the pot of soup, having no idea what it was.
39 한 사람이 채소를 캐러 들에 나가서 야등덩굴을 만나 그것에서 들 외를 따서 옷자락에 채워가지고 돌아와서 썰어 국 끓이는 솥에 넣되 저희는 무엇인지 알지 못한지라
40 So they poured out for the men to eat. And it came to pass, as they were eating of the pottage, that they cried out, and said, O thouman of God, there isdeath in the pot. And they could not eatthereof.[x]MKJV: And they poured out for the men to eat. And it happened as they were eating of the pottage, they cried out and said, O man of God, death [is] in the pot! And they could not eat. BBE: Then they gave the men soup from the pot. And while they were drinking the soup, they gave a cry, and said, O man of God, there is death in the pot; and they were not able to take any more food. KAV: 이렇게 그들이 사람들이 먹도록 부어 주었더니 그들이 죽을 먹다가 소리를 지르며 이르되, 오 [하나님]의 사람이여, 솥에 죽음이 있나이다, 하고 그것을 능히 먹지 못하였으나
40 Then they gave the men soup from the pot. And while they were drinking the soup, they gave a cry, and said, O man of God, there is death in the pot; and they were not able to take any more food.
40 이에 퍼다가 무리에게 주어 먹게 하였더니 무리가 국을 먹다가 외쳐 가로되 하나님의 사람이여 솥에 사망의 독이 있나이다 하고 능히 먹지 못하는지라
41 But he said, Then bringmeal. And he castit into the pot; and he said, Pour out for the people, that they may eat. And there was no harmin the pot.[x]MKJV: And he said, Then bring meal. And he cast [it] into the pot. And he said, Pour out for the people, and they may eat. And there was no evil thing in the pot. BBE: But he said, Get some meal. And he put it into the pot, and said, Now give it to the people so that they may have food. And there was nothing bad in the pot. KAV: 엘리사가 이르되, 그러면 가루를 가져오라, 하여 그것을 솥에 던지고 이르되, 퍼다가 사람들에게 주어 그들이 먹게 하라, 하매 솥에서 해를 일으키는 것이 없어지니라.
41 But he said, Get some meal. And he put it into the pot, and said, Now give it to the people so that they may have food. And there was nothing bad in the pot.
41 엘리사가 가로되 그러면 가루를 가져오라 하여 솥에 던지고 가로되 퍼다가 무리에게 주어 먹게 하라 하매 이에 솥 가운데 해독이 없어지니라
42 And there came a man from Baalshalisha, and brought the man of Godbread of the firstfruits, twentyloaves of barley, and full ears of corn in the husk thereof. And he said, Give unto the people, that they may eat.[x]MKJV: And a man came from Baal-shalisha and brought the man of God bread from the firstfruits, twenty loaves of barley and full ears of grain in his sack. And he said, Give to the people that they may eat. BBE: Now a man came from Baal-shalishah with an offering of first-fruits for the man of God, twenty barley cakes and garden fruit in his bag. And he said, Give these to the people for food. KAV: ¶ 한 사람이 바알살리사에서 와서 첫 열매의 빵 곧 보리빵 스무 개와 또 껍질에 싸인 알찬 곡식을 [하나님]의 사람에게 가져오므로 그가 이르되, 사람들에게 주어 그들이 먹게 하라, 하니
42 Now a man came from Baal-shalishah with an offering of first-fruits for the man of God, twenty barley cakes and garden fruit in his bag. And he said, Give these to the people for food.
42 한 사람이 바알살리사에서부터 와서 처음 익은 식물 곧 보리떡 이십과 또 자루에 담은 채소를 하나님의 사람에게 드린지라 저가 가로되 무리에게 주어 먹게 하라
43 And his servitorsaid, What, should I set this before an hundredmen? He said again, Give the people, that they may eat: for thus saith the LORD, They shall eat, and shall leavethereof.[x]MKJV: And his servant said, What? Should I set this before a hundred men? He said again, Give to the people so that they may eat, for so says the LORD, They shall eat and shall leave [some]. BBE: But his servant said, How am I to put this before a hundred men? But he said, Give it to the people for food; for the Lord says, There will be food for them and some over. KAV: 그의 하인이 이르되, 무슨 말씀이시니이까? 내가 이것을 백 명 앞에 차려야 하리이까? 하매 엘리사가 또 이르되, 사람들에게 주어 그들이 먹게 하라. {주}께서 이같이 말씀하시기를, 그들이 먹고 그것을 남기리라, 하시느니라, 하매
43 But his servant said, How am I to put this before a hundred men? But he said, Give it to the people for food; for the Lord says, There will be food for them and some over.
43 그 사환이 가로되 어찜이니이까 이것을 일백명에게 베풀겠나이까 하나 엘리사는 또 가로되 무리에게 주어 먹게 하라 여호와의 말씀이 무리가 먹고 남으리라 하셨느니라
44 So he setitbefore them, and they did eat, and leftthereof, according to the word of the LORD.[x]MKJV: And he set before them, and they ate, and left [some] of it, according to the word of the LORD. BBE: So he put it before them, and they had a meal and there was more than enough, as the Lord had said. KAV: 이에 그가 그들 앞에 그것을 차렸더니 {주}의 말씀과 같이 그들이 먹고 그것을 남겼더라.
44 So he put it before them, and they had a meal and there was more than enough, as the Lord had said.
