1 Josiah was eight years old when he became king; and he was ruling in Jerusalem for thirty-one years; his mother's name was Jedidah, daughter of Adaiah of Bozkath.
1 요시야가 위에 나아갈 때에 나이 팔세라 예루살렘에서 삼십 일년을 치리하니라 그 모친의 이름은 여디다라 보스갓 아다야의 딸이더라
2 And he didthat which wasright in the sight of the LORD, and walked in all the way of David his father, and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left.[x]MKJV: And he did the right in the sight of the LORD, and walked in all the way of David his father, and did not turn aside to the right or to the left. BBE: He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, walking in the ways of David his father, without turning to the right hand or to the left. KAV: 요시야가 {주}의 눈앞에서 올바른 것을 행하여 자기 조상 다윗의 모든 길로 걷고 오른쪽으로나 왼쪽으로나 치우치지 아니하였더라.
2 He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, walking in the ways of David his father, without turning to the right hand or to the left.
2 요시야가 여호와 보시기에 정직히 행하여 그 조상 다윗의 모든 길로 행하고 좌우로 치우치지 아니하였더라
3 And it came to pass in the eighteenthㆍyear of kingJosiah, that the kingsentShaphan the son of Azaliah, the son of Meshullam, the scribe, to the house of the LORD, saying,[x]MKJV: And it happened in the eighteenth year of Josiah, the king sent Shaphan the son of Azaliah, the son of Meshullam the scribe, to the house of the LORD, saying, BBE: Now in the eighteenth year after he became king, Josiah sent Shaphan, the son of Azaliah, the son of Meshullam, the scribe, to the house of the Lord, saying to him, KAV: ¶ 요시야 왕의 제십팔년에 왕이 므술람의 손자요, 아살리야의 아들인 서기관 사반을 {주}의 집에 보내며 이르되,
3 Now in the eighteenth year after he became king, Josiah sent Shaphan, the son of Azaliah, the son of Meshullam, the scribe, to the house of the Lord, saying to him,
3 요시야왕 십 팔년에 왕이 므술람의 손자 아살리야의 아들 서기관 사반을 여호와의 전에 보내며 가로되
4 Go up to Hilkiah the highpriest, that he may sum the silver which is brought into the house of the LORD, which the keepers of the door have gathered of the people:[x]MKJV: Go up to Hilkiah the high priest, so that he may count the silver which is brought into the house of the LORD, which the doorkeepers have gathered from the people. BBE: Go up to Hilkiah, the chief priest, and let him give out the money which is taken into the house of the Lord, which the keepers of the door have got together from the people; KAV: 대제사장 힐기야에게 올라가서 그가 백성이 {주}의 집으로 가져온 은 곧 문 지키는 자들이 백성에게서 거두어들인 은을 세게 하라.
4 Go up to Hilkiah, the chief priest, and let him give out the money which is taken into the house of the Lord, which the keepers of the door have got together from the people;
4 너는 대제사장 힐기야에게 올라가서 백성이 여호와의 전에 드린 은 곧 문 지킨 자가 수납한 은을 계수하여
5 And let them deliver it into the hand of the doers of the work, that have the oversight of the house of the LORD: and let them give it to the doers of the work which is in the house of the LORD, to repair the breaches of the house,[x]MKJV: And let them deliver it into the hand of the workers who have the oversight of the house of the Lord. And let them give it to the workers who [are] in the house of the LORD, in order to repair the breaks of the house, BBE: And let it be given to the overseers of the work of the Lord's house, to give to the workmen who are making good what was damaged in the house of the Lord; KAV: 그들은 {주}의 집을 감독하는 자들 곧 일하는 자들의 손에 그것을 넘겨주고 그들은 {주}의 집에서 일하는 자들에게 그것을 주어 그 집의 무너진 곳을 보수하게 하되
5 And let it be given to the overseers of the work of the Lord's house, to give to the workmen who are making good what was damaged in the house of the Lord;

6 Unto carpenters, and builders, and masons, and to buytimber and hewnstone to repair the house.[x]MKJV: to carpenters, and builders, and masons, and to buy timber and cut stone to repair the house. BBE: To the woodworkers and the builders and the stone-cutters; and for getting wood and cut stones for the building up of the house. KAV: 곧 목수와 건축자와 석공에게 주어 재목과 다듬은 돌을 사서 그 집을 보수하게 하라, 하였더라.

7 Howbeit there was no reckoning made with them of the money that was delivered into their hand, because they dealtfaithfully.[x]MKJV: Only, the silver that is given into their hand shall not be reckoned with them, for they are dealing in faithfulness. BBE: They did not have to give any account of the money which was handed to them, for they made use of it with good faith. KAV: 그러나 그들이 신실하게 나누어 주었으므로 그들의 손에 넘긴 돈을 그들과 함께 세지 아니하였더라.

So Hilkiah gave it to Shaphan; KAV: ¶ 대제사장 힐기야가 서기관 사반에게 이르되, 내가 {주}의 집에서 율법 책을 발견하였노라, 하고 그 책을 사반에게 주니 사반이 그것을 읽으니라.
8 Then Hilkiah, the chief priest, said to Shaphan the scribe, I have made discovery of the book of the law in the house of the Lord. So Hilkiah gave it to Shaphan;
8 대제사장 힐기야가 서기관 사반에게 이르되 내가 여호와의 전에서 율법책을 발견하였노라 하고 그 책을 사반에게 주니 사반이 읽으니라
9 And Shaphan the scribecame to the king, and brought the kingwordagain, and said, Thy servants have gathered the money that was found in the house, and have delivered it into the hand of them that do the work, that have the oversight of the house of the LORD.[x]MKJV: And Shaphan the scribe came to the king and brought the king word again, and said, Your servants have gathered the silver that was found in the house, and have delivered it into the hand of the workers, who have the oversight of the house of the LORD. BBE: Then, after reading it, Shaphan the scribe went in to the king and gave him an account of what had been done, saying, Your servants have given out the money which was in the house, and have given it to the overseers of the work of the house of the Lord. KAV: 서기관 사반이 왕에게 가서 왕에게 다시 말을 전하여 이르되, 왕의 신하들이 그 집에 있던 돈을 모아 {주}의 집을 감독하는 자들 곧 일하는 자들의 손에 넘겨주었나이다, 하고
9 Then, after reading it, Shaphan the scribe went in to the king and gave him an account of what had been done, saying, Your servants have given out the money which was in the house, and have given it to the overseers of the work of the house of the Lord.
9 서기관 사반이 왕에게 돌아가서 복명하여 가로되 왕의 신복들이 전에 있던 돈을 쏟아 여호와의 전 역사 감독자의 손에 붙였나이다 하고
10 And Shaphan the scribeshowed the king, saying, Hilkiah the priest hath delivered me a book. And Shaphanread it before the king.[x]MKJV: And Shaphan the scribe showed the king, saying, Hilkiah the priest has delivered me a book. And Shaphan read it before the king. BBE: Then Shaphan the scribe said to the king, Hilkiah the priest has given me a book; and he was reading it before the king. KAV: 또 서기관 사반이 왕에게 보여 주며 이르되, 제사장 힐기야가 내게 책을 넘겨주었나이다, 하고 왕 앞에서 그 책을 낭독하매
10 Then Shaphan the scribe said to the king, Hilkiah the priest has given me a book; and he was reading it before the king.
10 또 왕에게 고하여 가로되 제사장 힐기야가 내게 책을 주더이다 하고 왕의 앞에서 읽으매
11 And it came to pass, when the king had heard the words of the book of the law, that he rent his clothes.[x]MKJV: And it happened when the king had heard the words of the Book of the Law, he tore his clothes. BBE: And the king, hearing the words of the book of the law, took his robe in his hands, violently parting it as a sign of his grief; KAV: 왕이 율법 책의 말씀들을 듣고는 자기 옷을 찢으니라.

12 And the kingcommandedHilkiah the priest, and Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Achbor the son of Michaiah, and Shaphan the scribe, and Asahiah a servant of the king's, saying,[x]MKJV: And the king commanded Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Achbor the son of Michaiah, and Shaphan the scribe, and Asahiah a servant of the king, saying, BBE: And he gave orders to Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, and Achbor, the son of Micaiah, and Shaphan the scribe, and Asaiah the king's servant, saying, KAV: 왕이 제사장 힐기야와 사반의 아들 아히감과 미가야의 아들 악볼과 서기관 사반과 왕의 신하 아사야에게 명령하여 이르되,
12 And he gave orders to Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, and Achbor, the son of Micaiah, and Shaphan the scribe, and Asaiah the king's servant, saying,
12 왕이 제사장 힐기야와 사반의 아들 아히감과 미가야의 아들 악볼과 서기관 사반과 왕의 시신 아사야에게 명하여 가로되
13Go ye, inquire of the LORD for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that is found: for greatis the wrath of the LORD that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not hearkened unto the words of this book, to do according unto all that which is written concerning us.[x]MKJV: Go inquire of the LORD for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book which is found. For great [is] the wrath of the LORD which is kindled against us, because our fathers have not listened to the words of this book, to do according to all which is written concerning us. BBE: Go and get directions from the Lord for me and for the people and for all Judah, about the words of this book which has come to light; for great is the wrath of the Lord which is burning against us, because our fathers have not given ear to the words of this book, to do all the things which are recorded in it. KAV: 너희는 가서 나와 백성과 온 유다를 위해 이 발견한 책의 말씀들에 관하여 {주}께 여쭈라. 우리 조상들이 이 책의 말씀들에 귀를 기울이지 아니하고 우리에 관하여 기록된 모든 것대로 행하지 아니하였으므로 우리를 향해 타오른 {주}의 진노가 크도다, 하니라.
13 Go and get directions from the Lord for me and for the people and for all Judah, about the words of this book which has come to light; for great is the wrath of the Lord which is burning against us, because our fathers have not given ear to the words of this book, to do all the things which are recorded in it.
13 너희는 가서 나와 백성과 온 유다를 위하여 이 발견한 책의 말씀에 대하여 여호와께 물으라 우리 열조가 이 책의 말씀을 듣지 아니하며 이 책에 우리를 위하여 기록된 모든 것을 준행치 아니하였으므로 여호와께서 우리에게 발하신 진노가 크도다
14 So Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asahiah, went unto Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe; (now she dwelt in Jerusalem in the college;) and they communed with her.[x]MKJV: And Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asahiah, went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe. And she lived in Jerusalem in the second [part]. And they talked with her. BBE: So Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam and Achbor and Shaphan and Asaiah, went to Huldah the woman prophet, the wife of Shallum, the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the robes, (now she was living in Jerusalem, in the second part of the town;) and they had talk with her. KAV: 이에 제사장 힐기야와 또 아히감과 악볼과 사반과 아사야가 여대언자 훌다에게로 나아갔는데 그녀는 할하스의 손자이자 디그바의 아들로서 예복을 관리하는 자인 살룸의 아내더라. (이제 그녀는 예루살렘에서 그 일에 종사하는 사람들의 구역에 거하였더라.) 그들이 그녀와 대화를 나누니라.
14 So Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam and Achbor and Shaphan and Asaiah, went to Huldah the woman prophet, the wife of Shallum, the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the robes, (now she was living in Jerusalem, in the second part of the town;) and they had talk with her.
14 이에 제사장 힐기야와 또 아히감과 악볼과 사반과 아사야가 여선지 훌다에게로 나아가니 저는 할하스의 손자 디과의 아들 예복을 주관하는 살룸의 아내라 예루살렘 둘째 구역에 거하였더라 저희가 더불어 말하매
15 And she said unto them, Thus saith the LORDGod of Israel, Tell the man that sent you to me,[x]MKJV: And she said to them, So says Jehovah God of Israel, Tell the man who sent you to me, BBE: And she said to them, The Lord, the God of Israel, says, Say to the man who sent you to me, KAV: ¶ 훌다가 그들에게 이르되, {주} 이스라엘의 [하나님]이 이같이 말하노라. 너희를 내게로 보낸 사람에게 고하되,
15 And she said to them, The Lord, the God of Israel, says, Say to the man who sent you to me,
15 훌다가 저희에게 이르되 이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 말씀이 너희는 너희를 내게 보낸 사람에게 고하기를
16 Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will bringevil upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, even all the words of the book which the king of Judah hath read:[x]MKJV: So says the LORD, Behold, I will bring evil on this place and on the people of it, all the words of the book which the king of Judah has read; BBE: These are the words of the Lord: See, I will send evil on this place and on its people, even everything which the king of Judah has been reading in the book; KAV: {주}가 이같이 말하노라. 보라, 내가 이곳과 이곳의 거주민들에게 재앙을 가져오되 곧 유다 왕이 읽은 책의 모든 말을 가져오리니
16 These are the words of the Lord: See, I will send evil on this place and on its people, even everything which the king of Judah has been reading in the book;

17 Because they have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto othergods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the works of their hands; therefore my wrath shall be kindled against this place, and shall not be quenched.[x]MKJV: because they have forsaken Me, and have burned incense to other gods, so that they might provoke Me to anger with all the works of their hands, therefore My wrath shall be kindled against this place, and it shall not be quenched. BBE: Because they have given me up, burning offerings to other gods and moving me to wrath by all the work of their hands; so my wrath will be on fire against this place, and will not be put out. KAV: 이는 그들이 나를 버리고 다른 신들에게 분향하며 자기들 손의 모든 일로 내 분노를 일으켰기 때문이라. 그러므로 내 진노가 이곳을 향해 타올라 꺼지지 아니하리라, 하라.
17 Because they have given me up, burning offerings to other gods and moving me to wrath by all the work of their hands; so my wrath will be on fire against this place, and will not be put out.
17 이는 이 백성이 나를 버리고 다른 신에게 분향하며 그 손의 모든 소위로 나의 노를 격발하였음이라 그러므로 나의 이곳을 향하여 발한 진노가 꺼지지 아니하리라 하라 하셨느니라
18 But to the king of Judah which sent you to inquire of the LORD, thus shall ye say to him, Thus saith the LORDGod of Israel, As touching the words which thou hast heard;[x]MKJV: But to the king of Judah who sent you to inquire of the LORD, so you shall say to him, So says the LORD God of Israel, The words which you have heard, BBE: But to the king of Judah who sent you to get directions from the Lord, say, This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, has said: As to the words which have come to your ears, KAV: 그러나 너희를 보내어 {주} 에게 여쭙게 한 유다 왕에게는 너희가 이같이 말하되, {주} 이스라엘의 [하나님]이 이같이 말하노라. 네가 들은 말들로 말하건대
18 But to the king of Judah who sent you to get directions from the Lord, say, This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, has said: As to the words which have come to your ears,
18 너희를 보내어 여호와께 묻게 한 유다 왕에게는 너희가 이렇게 고하라 이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 말씀이 네가 들은 말을 의논컨대
19 Because thine heart was tender, and thou hast humbled thyself before the LORD, when thou heardest what I spake against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and hast rent thy clothes, and weptbefore me; I also have heardthee,saith the LORD.[x]MKJV: because your heart [was] tender and you have humbled yourself before the LORD, when you heard what I spoke against this place, and against its people (that they should become a waste and a curse, and have torn your clothes and wept before Me), I have heard you, says the LORD. BBE: Because your heart was soft, and you made yourself low before me, when you had word of what I said against this place and its people, that they would become a waste and a curse, and you gave signs of grief, weeping before me: truly, I have given ear to you, says the Lord. KAV: 내가 이곳과 이곳의 거주민들을 대적하여 말한 것 즉 그들이 황폐한 자가 되고 저주거리가 되리라고 말한 것을 네가 들을 때에 네 마음이 연하여 네가 {주} 앞에서 네 자신을 낮추며 네 옷을 찢고 내 앞에서 울었으므로 나도 네 말을 들었노라. {주}가 말하노라.
19 Because your heart was soft, and you made yourself low before me, when you had word of what I said against this place and its people, that they would become a waste and a curse, and you gave signs of grief, weeping before me: truly, I have given ear to you, says the Lord.
19 내가 이곳과 그 거민에게 대하여 빈 터가 되고 저주가 되리라 한 말을 네가 듣고 마음이 연하여 여호와 앞 곧 내 앞에서 겸비하여 옷을 찢고 통곡하였으므로 나도 네 말을 들었노라 여호와가 말하였느니라
20 Behold therefore, I will gather thee unto thy fathers, and thou shalt be gathered into thy grave in peace; and thine eyes shall not see all the evil which I will bring upon this place. And they brought the kingwordagain.[x]MKJV: Behold, even so I will gather you to your fathers, and you shall be gathered to your grave in peace. And your eyes shall not see all the evil which I will bring on this place. And they brought the king [this] word again. BBE: For this cause I will let you go to your fathers and be put in your last resting-place in peace, and your eyes will not see all the evil which I will send on this place. So they took this news back to the king. KAV: 그러므로, 보라, 내가 너를 네 조상들에게로 거두리니 네가 평안히 거두어져서 네 무덤으로 들어갈 것이요, 또 내가 이곳에 내릴 모든 재앙을 네 눈이 보지 아니하리라, 하라, 하매 그들이 왕에게 말을 다시 전하니라.
20 For this cause I will let you go to your fathers and be put in your last resting-place in peace, and your eyes will not see all the evil which I will send on this place. So they took this news back to the king.
20 그러므로 내가 너로 너의 열조에게 돌아가서 평안히 묘실로 들어가게 하리니 내가 이곳에 내리는 모든 재앙을 네가 눈으로 보지 못하리라 하셨느니라 사자들이 왕에게 복명하니라
