1 Now in the third year of Hoshea, son of Elah, king of Israel, Hezekiah, the son of Ahaz, became king of Judah.

2Twenty and fiveyearsold was he when he began to reign; and he reignedtwenty and nineyears in Jerusalem. His mother'sname also wasAbi, the daughter of Zachariah.[x]MKJV: He [was] twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. His mother's name [was] Abi, the daughter of Zachariah. 2 He was twenty-five years old when he became king, ruling in Jerusalem for twenty-nine years; his mother's name was Abi, the daughter of Zechariah.
2 위에 나아갈 때에 나이 이십 오세라 예루살렘에서 이십 구년을 치리하니라 그 모친의 이름은 아비라 스가리야의 딸이더라
3 And he didthat which wasright in the sight of the LORD, according to all that David his fatherdid.[x]MKJV: And he did the right in the sight of Jehovah, according to all that David his father did. 4 He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brazenserpent that Moses had made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan.[x]MKJV: He removed the high places, and broke the pillars, and cut down the Asherah. And he broke in pieces the bronze serpent which Moses had made; for until those days the sons of Israel burned incense to it. And he called it Nehushtan. 4 He had the high places taken away, and the stone pillars broken to bits, and the Asherah cut down; and the brass snake which Moses had made was crushed to powder at his order, because in those days the children of Israel had offerings burned before it, and he gave it the name Nehushtan.
4 여러 산당을 제하며 주상을 깨뜨리며 아세라 목상을 찍으며 모세가 만들었던 놋뱀을 이스라엘 자손이 이때까지 향하여 분향하므로 그것을 부수고 느후스단이라 일컬었더라

5 He had faith in the Lord, the God of Israel; so that there was no one like him among all the kings of Judah who were before him.

6 For he clave to the LORD, anddeparted not from following him, but kept his commandments, which the LORDcommandedMoses.[x]MKJV: For he clung to Jehovah. He did not depart from following Him, but kept His commandments, which Jehovah commanded Moses. 8 He smote the Philistines, even unto Gaza, and the borders thereof, from the tower of the watchmen to the fencedcity.[x]MKJV: He struck the Philistines to Gaza and its borders, from the Watch Tower to the fortified city. 9 Now in the fourth year of King Hezekiah, which was the seventh year of Hoshea, son of Elah, king of Israel, Shalmaneser, king of Assyria, came up against Samaria, shutting it in with his armies.
9 히스기야왕 사년 곧 이스라엘 왕 엘라의 아들 호세아 칠년에 앗수르 왕 살만에셀이 사마리아로 올라와서 에워쌌더라
10 And at the end of threeyears they took it: even in the sixthyear of Hezekiah, that is the ninthyear of Hosheaking of Israel, Samaria was taken.[x]MKJV: And at the end of three years they took it, in the sixth year of Hezekiah, it [was] the ninth year of Hoshea king of Israel, Samaria was taken. 10 And at the end of three years they took it; in the sixth year of Hezekiah's rule, which was the ninth year of Hoshea, king of Israel, Samaria was taken.
10 삼년 후에 그 성이 함락되니 곧 히스기야의 육년이요 이스라엘 왕 호세아의 구년이라 사마리아가 함락되매
11 And the king of Assyria did carry awayIsrael unto Assyria, and put them in Halah and in Haborby the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes:[x]MKJV: And the king of Assyria carried away Israel to Assyria, and put them in Halah and in Habor [by] the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes, BBE: And the king of Assyria took Israel away as prisoners into Assyria, placing them in Halah and in Habor on the river Gozan, and in the towns of the Medes; KAV: 아시리아 왕이 이스라엘을 사로잡아 아시리아로 데려가서 할라와 고산 강가의 하볼과 메대 사람들의 도시들에 두었으니
11 And the king of Assyria took Israel away as prisoners into Assyria, placing them in Halah and in Habor on the river Gozan, and in the towns of the Medes;
11 앗수르 왕이 이스라엘을 사로잡아 앗수르에 이르러 할라와 고산 하볼 하숫가와 메대 사람의 여러 성읍에 두었으니
12 Because they obeyed not the voice of the LORD their God, but transgressed his covenant, and all that Moses the servant of the LORDcommanded, and would not hearthem, nor dothem.[x]MKJV: because they did not obey the voice of the LORD their God, but transgressed His covenant, [and] all that Moses the servant of the LORD commanded, and would not listen to them, nor do them. BBE: Because they did not give ear to the voice of the Lord their God, but went against his agreement, even against everything ordered by Moses, the servant of the Lord, and they did not give ear to it or do it. KAV: 이는 그들이 {주} 자기들의 [하나님]의 음성에 순종하지 아니하고 오히려 그분의 언약과 {주}의 종 모세가 명령한 모든 것을 어기며 그것들을 들으려 하지도 아니하고 행하려 하지도 아니하였기 때문이더라.
12 Because they did not give ear to the voice of the Lord their God, but went against his agreement, even against everything ordered by Moses, the servant of the Lord, and they did not give ear to it or do it.
12 이는 저희가 그 하나님 여호와의 말씀을 준행치 아니하고 그 언약을 배반하고 여호와의 종 모세의 모든 명한 것을 거스려 듣지도 아니하며 행치도 아니하였음이더라
13 Now in the fourteenthㆍyear of kingHezekiah did Sennacheribking of Assyria come up against all the fencedcities of Judah, and took them.[x]MKJV: And in the fourteenth year of king Hezekiah, Sennacherib king of Assyria came up against all the fortified cities of Judah and took them. BBE: Now in the fourteenth year of king Hezekiah, Sennacherib, king of Assyria, came up against all the walled towns of Judah and took them. KAV: ¶ 히스기야 왕의 제십사년에 아시리아 왕 산헤립이 올라와 유다의 성벽을 두른 모든 도시를 쳐서 점령하매
13 Now in the fourteenth year of king Hezekiah, Sennacherib, king of Assyria, came up against all the walled towns of Judah and took them.
13 히스기야왕 십 사년에 앗수르 왕 산헤립이 올라와서 유다 모든 견고한 성읍들을 쳐서 취하매
14 And Hezekiahking of Judahsent to the king of Assyria to Lachish, saying, I have offended; return from me: that which thou puttest on me will I bear. And the king of Assyriaappointed unto Hezekiahking of Judahthreehundredtalents of silver and thirtytalents of gold.[x]MKJV: And Hezekiah king of Judah sent to the king of Assyria to Lachish, saying, I have offended; turn back from me. Whatever you put on me I will bear. And the king of Assyria appointed to Hezekiah king of Judah three hundred talents of silver, and thirty talents of gold. BBE: And Hezekiah, king of Judah, sent to Lachish, to the king of Assyria, saying, I have done wrong; give up attacking me, and whatever you put on me I will undergo. And the payment he was to make was fixed by the king of Assyria at three hundred talents of silver and thirty talents of gold. KAV: 유다 왕 히스기야가 라기스로 사람을 보내어 아시리아 왕에게 이르되, 내가 죄를 지었나이다. 나를 떠나 돌아가소서. 왕이 내게 짐 지워 주시는 것을 내가 감당하리이다, 하였더니 아시리아 왕이 유다 왕 히스기야에게 은 삼백 달란트와 금 삼십 달란트를 지정해 주니라.
14 And Hezekiah, king of Judah, sent to Lachish, to the king of Assyria, saying, I have done wrong; give up attacking me, and whatever you put on me I will undergo. And the payment he was to make was fixed by the king of Assyria at three hundred talents of silver and thirty talents of gold.
14 유다 왕 히스기야가 라기스로 보내어 앗수르 왕에게 이르되 내가 범죄하였나이다 나를 떠나 돌아가소서 왕이 내게 지우시는 것을 내가 당하리이다 하였더니 앗수르 왕이 곧 은 삼백 달란트와 금 삼십 달란트를 정하여 유다 왕 히스기야로 내게 한지라
15 And Hezekiahgavehim all the silver that was found in the house of the LORD, and in the treasures of the king'shouse.[x]MKJV: And Hezekiah gave him all the silver which was found in the house of the LORD and in the treasures of the king's house. BBE: So Hezekiah gave him all the silver in the house of the Lord, and in the king's store-house. KAV: 히스기야가 {주}의 집과 왕의 집의 보고에 있던 은을 다 주었고
15 So Hezekiah gave him all the silver in the house of the Lord, and in the king's store-house.

16 At that time did Hezekiah cut offthe gold from the doors of the temple of the LORD, and from the pillars which Hezekiahking of Judah had overlaid, and gave it to the king of Assyria.[x]MKJV: At that time Hezekiah cut off the gold from the doors of the temple of the LORD, and from the pillars which Hezekiah king of Judah had overlaid. And he gave them to the king of Assyria. BBE: And at that time Hezekiah had the gold from the doors of the Lord's house, and from the door-pillars plated by him, cut off and gave it to the king of Assyria. KAV: 또 그때에 유다 왕 히스기야가 {주}의 성전의 문들과 자기가 금을 입힌 기둥들에서 금을 벗겨 아시리아 왕에게 주었더라.
16 And at that time Hezekiah had the gold from the doors of the Lord's house, and from the door-pillars plated by him, cut off and gave it to the king of Assyria.
16 또 그 때에 유다 왕 히스기야가 여호와의 전 문의 금과 자기가 모든 기둥에 입힌 금을 벗겨 모두 앗수르 왕에게 주었더라
17 And the king of AssyriasentTartan and Rabsaris and Rabshakeh from Lachish to kingHezekiah with a greathost against Jerusalem. And they went up and came to Jerusalem. And when they were come up, they came and stood by the conduit of the upperpool, which is in the highway of the fuller'sfield.[x]MKJV: And the king of Assyria sent Tartan, and the chief of the eunuchs, and the chief of the cupbearers from Lachish, to king Hezekiah with a great army against Jerusalem. And they went up and came to Jerusalem. And when they had come up, they came and stood by the conduit of the upper pool, which is in the highway of the Fuller's Field. BBE: Then the king of Assyria sent the Tartan and the Rab-saris and the Rab-shakeh from Lachish to Jerusalem, to King Hezekiah, with a strong force. And they went up and came to Jerusalem, and took up their position by the stream of the higher pool, by the highway of the washerman's field. KAV: ¶ 아시리아 왕이 다르단과 랍사리스와 랍사게를 큰 군대와 함께 라기스에서 히스기야 왕에게 보내어 예루살렘을 치게 하매 그들이 올라와 예루살렘에 이르니라. 그들이 올라올 때에 세탁공의 밭의 큰길에 있는 위 연못의 수로 곁에 이르러 서니라.
17 Then the king of Assyria sent the Tartan and the Rab-saris and the Rab-shakeh from Lachish to Jerusalem, to King Hezekiah, with a strong force. And they went up and came to Jerusalem, and took up their position by the stream of the higher pool, by the highway of the washerman's field.
17 앗수르 왕이 다르단과 랍사리스와 랍사게로 대군을 거느리고 라기스에서부터 예루살렘으로 가서 히스기야왕을 치게 하매 저희가 예루살렘으로 올라가니라 저희가 올라가서 윗못 수도 곁 곧 세탁자의 밭에 있는 큰 길에 이르러 서니라
18 And when they had called to the king, there came out to them Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, which was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah the son of Asaph the recorder.[x]MKJV: And they called to the king. And Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, who [was] over the house, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah the son of Asaph the recorder, went out to them. BBE: And they sent for the king, and Eliakim, the son of Hilkiah, who was over the house, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah, the son of Asaph, the recorder, came out to them. KAV: 그들이 왕을 부르매 힐기야의 아들로서 집안을 감독하던 엘리아김과 서기관 셉나와 아삽의 아들 기록관 요아가 그들에게 나가니라.
18 And they sent for the king, and Eliakim, the son of Hilkiah, who was over the house, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah, the son of Asaph, the recorder, came out to them.
18 저희가 왕을 부르매 힐기야의 아들 궁내대신 엘리야김과 서기관 셉나와 아삽의 아들 사관 요아가 저에게 나가니
19 And Rabshakehsaid unto them, Speak ye now to Hezekiah, Thus saith the greatking, the king of Assyria, What confidenceis this wherein thou trustest?[x]MKJV: And the chief of the cupbearers said to them, Speak now to Hezekiah, So says the great king, the king of Assyria, What hope [is] this in which you trust? BBE: And the Rab-shakeh said to them, Say now to Hezekiah, These are the words of the great king, the king of Assyria: In what are you placing your hope? KAV: 랍사게가 그들에게 이르되, 너희는 이제 히스기야에게 말하라. 위대한 왕 곧 아시리아 왕께서 이같이 말씀하시되, 네가 신뢰하는 이 확신이 과연 무엇이냐?
19 And the Rab-shakeh said to them, Say now to Hezekiah, These are the words of the great king, the king of Assyria: In what are you placing your hope?
19 랍사게가 저희에게 이르되 너희는 히스기야에게 고하라 대왕 앗수르 왕의 말씀이 너의 의뢰하는 이 의뢰가 무엇이냐
20 Thou sayest, (but they are butvainwords,) I havecounsel and strength for the war. Now on whom dost thou trust, that thou rebellest against me?[x]MKJV: Do you say that a mere word of the lips [is] wisdom and strength for the war? Now on whom do you trust that you rebel against me? BBE: You say you have a design, and strength for war, but these are only words. Now to whom are you looking for support, that you have gone against my authority? KAV: 네가 이르기를, 내게 싸움에 쓸 계략과 능력이 있다, 하나 (그것들은 헛된 말이라.) 네가 이제 누구를 신뢰하기에 나를 배반하느냐?
20 You say you have a design, and strength for war, but these are only words. Now to whom are you looking for support, that you have gone against my authority?
20 네가 싸울만한 계교와 용력이 있다고 한다마는 이는 입에 붙은 말 뿐이라 네가 이제 누구를 의뢰하고 나를 반역하였느냐
21 Now, behold, thou trustest upon the staff of this bruisedreed, even upon Egypt, on which if a manlean, it will go into his hand, and pierce it: so isPharaohking of Egypt unto all that trust on him.[x]MKJV: Now, behold, you trust on the staff of this bruised reed, on Egypt, on which if a man leans, it will go into his hand and pierce it. So [is] Pharaoh king of Egypt to all who trust on him. BBE: See, now, you are basing your hope on that broken rod of Egypt, which will go through a man's hand if he makes use of it for a support; for so is Pharaoh, king of Egypt, to all who put their faith in him. KAV: 보라, 이제 네가 이 상한 갈대 지팡이 이집트를 신뢰하는도다. 사람이 그 지팡이를 의지하면 그것이 그의 손으로 들어가 손을 찌르리라. 이집트 왕 파라오는 그를 신뢰하는 모든 자에게 그와 같으니라.
21 See, now, you are basing your hope on that broken rod of Egypt, which will go through a man's hand if he makes use of it for a support; for so is Pharaoh, king of Egypt, to all who put their faith in him.
21 이제 네가 저 상한 갈대 지팡이 애굽을 의뢰하도다 사람이 그것을 의지하면 그 손에 찔려 들어갈찌라 애굽 왕 바로는 무릇 의뢰하는 자에게 이와 같으니라
22 But if ye say unto me, We trust in the LORD our God: is not that he, whose high places and whose altarsHezekiah hath taken away, and hath said to Judah and Jerusalem, Ye shall worshipbefore this altar in Jerusalem?[x]MKJV: But if you say to me, We trust in Jehovah our God, is He not the one whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah has taken away, and has said to Judah and Jerusalem, You shall worship before this altar in Jerusalem? BBE: And if you say to me, Our hope is in the Lord our God: is it not he, whose high places and altars Hezekiah has taken away, saying to Judah and Jerusalem that worship may only be given before this altar in Jerusalem? KAV: 그러나 너희는 내게 이르기를, 우리는 {주} 우리 [하나님]을 신뢰하노라, 하지만 그는 히스기야가 산당들과 제단들을 제거하고 유다와 예루살렘에게 이르기를, 너희는 예루살렘에 있는 이 제단 앞에서 경배하라, 하던 그 신이 아니냐? 하시나니
22 And if you say to me, Our hope is in the Lord our God: is it not he, whose high places and altars Hezekiah has taken away, saying to Judah and Jerusalem that worship may only be given before this altar in Jerusalem?
22 너희가 혹시 내게 이르기를 우리는 우리 하나님 여호와를 의뢰하노라 하리라마는 히스기야가 여호와의 산당과 제단을 제하고 유다와 예루살렘 사람에게 명하기를 예루살렘 이 단 앞에서만 숭배하라 하지 아니하였느냐 하셨나니
23 Now therefore, I pray thee, give pledges to my lord the king of Assyria, and I will deliver thee two thousandhorses, if thou be able on thy part to setriders upon them.[x]MKJV: And now, please give pledges to my lord the king of Assyria, and I will deliver two thousand horses to you if you are able to set riders on them. BBE: And now, take a chance with my master, the king of Assyria, and I will give you two thousand horses, if you are able to put horsemen on them. KAV: 그러므로 원하건대 이제 내 주 아시리아 왕에게 보증금을 내라. 만일 네가 네 편에서 말 이천 마리에 말 타는 자를 태울 수 있거든 내가 그 말들을 네게 넘겨주리라.
23 And now, take a chance with my master, the king of Assyria, and I will give you two thousand horses, if you are able to put horsemen on them.
23 이제 너는 내 주 앗수르 왕과 내기하라 네가 만일 그 말 탈 사람을 낼 수 있다면 나는 네게 말 이천필을 주리라
24 How then wilt thou turn away the face of onecaptain of the least of my master'sservants, and put thy trust on Egypt for chariots and for horsemen?[x]MKJV: And how will you turn away the face of one commander of the least of my master's servants, and put your trust in Egypt for chariots and for horsemen? BBE: How then may you put to shame the least of my master's servants? and you have put your hope in Egypt for war-carriages and horsemen: KAV: 그러할진대 네가 어찌 내 주인의 신하들 가운데 가장 작은 대장의 얼굴을 물리치며 이집트를 신뢰하여 병거와 기병을 얻고자 하느냐?
24 How then may you put to shame the least of my master's servants? and you have put your hope in Egypt for war-carriages and horsemen:
24 네가 어찌 내 주의 신복 중 지극히 작은 장관 하나인들 물리치며 애굽을 의뢰하고 그 병거와 기병을 얻을듯하냐
25 Am I now come upwithout the LORD against this place to destroy it? The LORDsaid to me, Go up against this land, and destroy it.[x]MKJV: Have I now come up against this place to destroy it without Jehovah? Jehovah said to me, Go up against this land and destroy it. BBE: And have I now come up to send destruction on this place without the Lord's authority? It was the Lord himself who said to me, Go up against this land and make it waste. KAV: 내가 {주}의 뜻도 없이 이제 이곳을 쳐서 멸하러 올라왔겠느냐? {주}가 내게 말하기를, 올라가서 이 땅을 치고 멸하라, 하였느니라, 하니라.
25 And have I now come up to send destruction on this place without the Lord's authority? It was the Lord himself who said to me, Go up against this land and make it waste.
25 내가 어찌 여호와의 뜻이 아니고야 이제 이곳을 멸하러 올라왔겠느냐 여호와께서 전에 내게 이르시기를 이 땅으로 올라와서 쳐서 멸하라 하셨느니라
26 Then saidEliakim the son of Hilkiah, and Shebna, and Joah, unto Rabshakeh, Speak, I pray thee, to thy servants in the Syrian language; for we understandit: and talk not with us in the Jews language in the ears of the people that are on the wall.[x]MKJV: Then Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, and Shebna, and Joah said to the chief of the cupbearers, Please speak to your servants in Aramaic, for we understand. And do not talk with us in Jewish, in the ears of the people who are on the wall. BBE: Then Eliakim, the son of Hilkiah, and Shebna and Joah said to the Rab-shakeh, Will you kindly make use of the Aramaean language in talking to your servants, for we are used to it, and do not make use of the Jews' language in the hearing of the people on the wall. KAV: 그때에 힐기야의 아들 엘리아김과 셉나와 요아가 랍사게에게 이르되, 우리가 그것을 알아듣사오니 원하건대 시리아 말로 당신의 종들에게 말씀하시고 성벽 위에 있는 백성의 귀에 대고 유대인들의 말로 우리에게 이야기하지 마옵소서, 하니라.
26 Then Eliakim, the son of Hilkiah, and Shebna and Joah said to the Rab-shakeh, Will you kindly make use of the Aramaean language in talking to your servants, for we are used to it, and do not make use of the Jews' language in the hearing of the people on the wall.
26 힐기야의 아들 엘리야김과 셉나와 요아가 랍사게에게 이르되 우리가 알아듣겠사오니 청컨대 아람 방언으로 당신의 종들에게 말씀하시고 성 위에 있는 백성의 듣는데 유다 방언으로 우리에게 말씀하지 마옵소서
27 But Rabshakehsaid unto them, Hath my mastersent me to thy master, and to thee, to speak these words? hath he not sent me to the men which sit on the wall, that they may eat their own dungㆍ, and drink their own pissㆍㆍ with you?[x]MKJV: And the chief of the cupbearers said to them, Has my master sent me to your master and to you, to speak these words, [and] not to the men who sit on the wall, to eat their own dung and drink their own urine with you? BBE: But the Rab-shakeh said to them, Is it to your master or to you that my master has sent me to say these words? has he not sent me to the men seated on the wall? for they are the people who will be short of food with you when the town is shut in. KAV: 그러나 랍사게가 그들에게 이르되, 내 주인께서 네 주인과 네게만 이 말들을 하라고 나를 보내셨느냐? 그분께서 나를 성벽에 앉은 사람들에게도 보내사 그들이 너희와 함께 자기들의 대변을 먹게 하고 자기들의 소변을 마시게 하지 아니하셨느냐? 하고
27 But the Rab-shakeh said to them, Is it to your master or to you that my master has sent me to say these words? has he not sent me to the men seated on the wall? for they are the people who will be short of food with you when the town is shut in.
27 랍사게가 저에게 이르되 내 주께서 네 주와 네게만 이 말을 하라고 나를 보내신 것이냐 성 위에 앉은 사람들로도 너희와 함께 자기의 대변을 먹게 하고 자기의 소변을 마시게 하신 것이 아니냐 하고
28 Then Rabshakehstood and cried with a loudvoice in the Jews language, and spake, saying, Hear the word of the greatking, the king of Assyria:[x]MKJV: And the chief of the cupbearers stood and cried with a loud voice in Jewish, and spoke, saying, Hear the word of the great king, the king of Assyria: BBE: Then the Rab-shakeh got up and said with a loud voice in the Jews' language, Give ear to the words of the great king, the king of Assyria; KAV: 그때에 랍사게가 서서 유대인들의 말로 크게 소리 질러 말하여 이르되, 위대한 왕 아시리아 왕의 말씀을 들으라.
28 Then the Rab-shakeh got up and said with a loud voice in the Jews' language, Give ear to the words of the great king, the king of Assyria;
28 랍사게가 드디어 일어 서서 유다 방언으로 크게 소리질러 불러 가로되 너희는 대왕 앗수르 왕의 말씀을 들으라
29 Thus saith the king, Let not Hezekiahdeceive you: for he shall not be able to deliver you out of his hand:[x]MKJV: so says the king, Do not let Hezekiah deceive you. For he shall not be able to deliver you out of his hand. BBE: This is what the king says: Do not be tricked by Hezekiah, for there is no salvation for you in him. KAV: 왕께서 이같이 말씀하시되, 히스기야가 너희를 속이지 못하게 하라. 그가 능히 너희를 내 손에서 건져 내지 못하리라.
29 This is what the king says: Do not be tricked by Hezekiah, for there is no salvation for you in him.
29 왕의 말씀이 너희는 히스기야에게 속지 말라 저가 너희를 내 손에서 건져내지 못하리라
30 Neither let Hezekiah make you trust in the LORD, saying, The LORD will surelydeliver us, and this city shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.[x]MKJV: And do not let Hezekiah make you trust in Jehovah, saying, Jehovah will surely deliver us, and this city shall not be delivered into the hands of the king of Assyria. BBE: And do not let Hezekiah make you put your faith in the Lord, saying, The Lord will certainly keep us safe, and this town will not be given into the hands of the king of Assyria. KAV: 또한 히스기야가 너희로 하여금 {주}를 신뢰하게 하지 못하도록 하라. 그가 이르되, {주}께서 반드시 우리를 건지실 터인즉 이 도시가 아시리아 왕의 손에 넘어가지 아니하리라, 할지라도
30 And do not let Hezekiah make you put your faith in the Lord, saying, The Lord will certainly keep us safe, and this town will not be given into the hands of the king of Assyria.
30 또한 히스기야가 너희로 여호와를 의뢰하라 함을 듣지 말라 저가 이르기를 여호와께서 정녕 우리를 건지실찌라 이 성이 앗수르 왕의 손에 함락되지 않게 하시리라 할찌라도
31Hearken not to Hezekiah: for thus saith the king of Assyria, Makean agreement with me by a present, and come out to me, and theneat ye every man of his own vine, and every one of his fig tree, and drink ye every one the waters of his cistern:[x]MKJV: Do not listen to Hezekiah. For so says the king of Assyria, Make with me a blessing, and come out to me, and you each shall eat of his vine, and each of his fig tree, and you each shall drink of the waters of his own cistern, BBE: Do not give ear to Hezekiah, for this is what the king of Assyria says: Make peace with me and come out to me; and everyone will be free to take the fruit of his vine and of his fig-tree, and the water of his spring; KAV: 히스기야의 말에 귀를 기울이지 말라. 아시리아 왕이 이같이 말하노라. 예물을 가지고 나와 협정을 맺고 내게로 나아오라. 그리하고 너희는 각각 자기의 포도나무와 무화과나무에서 나는 것을 먹으며 또한 각각 자기 물 저장고의 물을 마시라.
31 Do not give ear to Hezekiah, for this is what the king of Assyria says: Make peace with me and come out to me; and everyone will be free to take the fruit of his vine and of his fig-tree, and the water of his spring;
31 너희는 히스기야의 말을 듣지 말라 앗수르 왕의 말씀이 너희는 내게 항복하고 내게로 나아오라 그리하고 너희는 각각 그 포도와 무화과를 먹고 또한 각각 자기의 우물의 물을 마시라
32 Until I come and take you away to a land like your own land, a land of corn and wine, a land of bread and vineyards, a land of oilolive and of honey, that ye may live, and not die: and hearken not unto Hezekiah, when he persuadeth you, saying, The LORD will deliver us.[x]MKJV: until I come and take you away to a land like your own land, a land of grain and new wine, a land of bread and vineyards, a land of olive oil and of honey, and live, and not die. And do not listen to Hezekiah when he deceives you, saying, Jehovah will deliver us. BBE: Till I come and take you away to a land like yours, a land of grain and wine, a land of bread and vine-gardens, a land of oil-giving olives and of honey, so that life and not death may be your fate. Give no attention to Hezekiah when he says to you, The Lord will keep us safe. KAV: 마침내 내가 와서 너희를 사로잡아 너희 땅과 같은 땅으로 옮기리니 그 땅은 곡식과 포도즙이 있는 땅이요, 빵과 포도원이 있는 땅이며 기름 올리브와 꿀이 있는 땅이라. 그리하여야 너희가 살고 죽지 아니하리라. 히스기야가 너희를 설득하여 이르기를, {주}께서 우리를 건지시리라, 하여도 그의 말에 귀를 기울이지 말라.
32 Till I come and take you away to a land like yours, a land of grain and wine, a land of bread and vine-gardens, a land of oil-giving olives and of honey, so that life and not death may be your fate. Give no attention to Hezekiah when he says to you, The Lord will keep us safe.
32 내가 장차 와서 너희를 한 지방으로 옮기리니 그곳은 너희 본토와 같은 지방 곧 곡식과 포도주가 있는 지방이요 떡과 포도원이 있는 지방이요 기름 나는 감람과 꿀이 있는 지방이라 너희가 살고 죽지 아니하리라 히스기야가 너희를 면려하여 이르기를 여호와께서 우리를 건지시리라 하여도 듣지 말라
33 Hath any of the gods of the nationsdelivered at all his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria?[x]MKJV: Has any of the gods of the nations at all delivered his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria? BBE: Has any one of the gods of the nations kept his land from falling into the hands of the king of Assyria? KAV: 민족들의 신들 중에 어떤 신이 자기 땅을 아시리아 왕의 손에서 건져 내었느냐?
33 Has any one of the gods of the nations kept his land from falling into the hands of the king of Assyria?
33 열국의 신들 중에 그 땅을 앗수르 왕의 손에서 건진 자가 있느냐
34 Where are the gods of Hamath, and of Arpad? where are the gods of Sepharvaim, Hena, and Ivah? have they deliveredSamaria out of mine hand?[x]MKJV: Where [are] the gods of Hamath and of Arpad? Where [are] the gods of Sepharvaim, Hena, and Ivah? Have they delivered Samaria out of my hand? BBE: Where are the gods of Hamath and of Arpad? where are the gods of Sepharvaim, of Hena and Ivvah? have they kept Samaria out of my hands? KAV: 하맛과 아르밧의 신들이 어디 있느냐? 스발와임과 헤나와 이바의 신들이 어디 있느냐? 그들이 사마리아를 내 손에서 건져 내었느냐?
34 Where are the gods of Hamath and of Arpad? where are the gods of Sepharvaim, of Hena and Ivvah? have they kept Samaria out of my hands?
34 하맛과 아르밧의 신들이 어디 있으며 스발와임과 헤나와 아와의 신들이 어디 있느냐 그들이 사마리아를 내 손에서 건졌느냐
35 Who are they among all the gods of the countries, that have delivered their country out of mine hand, that the LORD should deliverJerusalem out of mine hand?[x]MKJV: Who among all the gods of the lands have delivered their land out of my hand, that Jehovah should deliver Jerusalem out of my hand? BBE: Who among all the gods of these countries have kept their country from falling into my hands, to give cause for the thought that the Lord will keep Jerusalem from falling into my hands? KAV: 이 나라들의 모든 신들 중에서 누가 자기 나라를 내 손에서 건져 내었기에 {주}가 예루살렘을 내 손에서 건져 내겠느냐? 하시느니라.
35 Who among all the gods of these countries have kept their country from falling into my hands, to give cause for the thought that the Lord will keep Jerusalem from falling into my hands?
35 열국의 모든 신 중에 누가 그 땅을 내 손에서 건졌기에 여호와가 예루살렘을 내 손에서 능히 건지겠느냐 하셨느니라
36 But the people held their peace, and answered him not a word: for the king'scommandment was, saying, Answer him not.[x]MKJV: But the people kept silent and did not answer him a word. For the king's command was, saying, Do not answer him. BBE: But the people kept quiet and gave him no answer: for the king's order was, Give him no answer. KAV: 그러나 백성이 잠잠하고 한 말도 그에게 대답하지 아니하였으니 이는 왕이 명령하여 이르기를, 그에게 대답하지 말라, 하였기 때문이라.

37 Then cameEliakim the son of Hilkiah, which was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah the son of Asaph the recorder, to Hezekiah with theirclothesrent, and told him the words of Rabshakeh.[x]MKJV: And Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, who [was] over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah the son of Asaph the recorder, came to Hezekiah with their clothes torn. And they told him the words of the chief of the cupbearers. BBE: Then Eliakim, the son of Hilkiah, who was over the house, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah, the son of Asaph, the recorder, came to Hezekiah, with their clothing parted as a sign of grief, and gave him an account of what the Rab-shakeh had said. KAV: 그때에 힐기야의 아들로서 집안을 감독하던 엘리아김과 서기관 셉나와 아삽의 아들 기록관 요아가 자기들의 옷을 찢고 히스기야에게 나아가 그에게 랍사게의 말들을 고하니라.
37 Then Eliakim, the son of Hilkiah, who was over the house, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah, the son of Asaph, the recorder, came to Hezekiah, with their clothing parted as a sign of grief, and gave him an account of what the Rab-shakeh had said.
37 이에 힐기야의 아들 궁내대신 엘리야김과 서기관 셉나와 아삽의 아들 사관 요아가 그 옷을 찢고 히스기야에게 나아가서 랍사게의 말을 고하니라
