2Sixteenㆍyearsold was he when he began to reign, and he reignedtwo and fiftyyears in Jerusalem. 20 And Menahemexacted the money of Israel, even of all the mighty men of wealth, of eachmanfiftyshekels of silver, to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned back, and stayed not there in the land.[x]MKJV: And Menahem took the silver from Israel, from all the mighty men of wealth (fifty shekels of silver from each man) to give to the king of Assyria. And the king of Assyria turned back and did not stay there in the land. 30 And Hoshea the son of Elahmade a conspiracy against Pekah the son of Remaliah, and smote him, and slew him, and reigned in his stead, in the twentiethyear of Jotham the son of Uzziah.[x]MKJV: And Hoshea the son of Elah made a plot against Pekah the son of Remaliah. And he struck him and killed him and reigned in his place, in the twentieth year of Jotham the son of Uzziah. He built the Upper Gate of the house of the LORD. BBE: But he did not take away the high places, and the people still went on making offerings and burning them in the high places. He was the builder of the higher doorway of the house of the Lord. KAV: ¶ 그러나 그가 산당들을 제거하지 아니하였으므로 백성이 여전히 산당들에서 희생물을 드리며 분향하였더라. 요담이 {주}의 집의 높은 문을 건축하니라.
35 But he did not take away the high places, and the people still went on making offerings and burning them in the high places. He was the builder of the higher doorway of the house of the Lord.
35 오직 산당을 제하지 아니하였으므로 백성이 오히려 그 산당에서 제사를 드리며 분향하였더라 요담이 여호와의 전의 윗문을 건축하니라

37 In those days the LORDbegan to send against JudahRezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah.[x]MKJV: In those days the LORD began to send Rezin the king of Syria against Judah, and also Pekah the son of Remaliah. BBE: In those days the Lord first sent against Judah, Rezin, the king of Aram, and Pekah, the son of Remaliah. KAV: 그때에 {주}께서 시리아 왕 르신과 르말랴의 아들 베가를 보내기 시작하여 유다를 치게 하셨더라.
