2 And Ahaziah fell down through a lattice in his upper chamber that was in Samaria, and was sick: and he sentmessengers, and said unto them, Go, inquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron whether I shall recover of this disease.[x]MKJV: And Ahaziah fell down through a lattice in his upper room in Samaria, and was sick. And [he] sent messengers and said to them, Go, ask of Baal-zebub the god of Ekron whether I shall recover of this disease. BBE: Now Ahaziah had a fall from the window of his room in Samaria, and was ill. And he sent men, and said to them, Put a question to Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron, about the outcome of my disease, to see if I will get well or not. KAV: 아하시야가 사마리아에 있던 자기의 다락방 격자창에서 떨어져 병들매 사자들을 보내며 그들에게 이르되, 가서 내가 이 병에서 나을지 에그론의 신 바알세붑에게 물으라, 하니라.
2 Now Ahaziah had a fall from the window of his room in Samaria, and was ill. And he sent men, and said to them, Put a question to Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron, about the outcome of my disease, to see if I will get well or not.
2 아하시야가 사마리아에 있는 그 다락 난간에서 떨어져 병들매 사자를 보내며 저희더러 이르되 가서 에그론의 신 바알세붑에게 이 병이 낫겠나 물어 보라 하니라
3 But the angel of the LORDsaid to Elijah the Tishbite, Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and say unto them, Is it not because there is not a God in Israel, that ye go to inquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron?[x]MKJV: But the angel of the LORD said to Elijah the Tishbite, Arise! Go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria and say to them, [Is it] not because no God is in Israel [that] you go to ask of Baal-zebub the god of Ekron? BBE: But the angel of the Lord said to Elijah the Tishbite, Go now, and, meeting the men sent by the king of Samaria, say to them, Is it because there is no God in Israel, that you are going to get directions from Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron? KAV: 그러나 {주}의 천사가 디셉 사람 엘리야에게 이르시되, 일어나 올라가서 사마리아 왕의 사자들을 만나 그들에게 말하기를, 이스라엘에 [하나님]이 없어서 너희가 에그론의 신 바알세붑에게 물으러 가느냐?
3 But the angel of the Lord said to Elijah the Tishbite, Go now, and, meeting the men sent by the king of Samaria, say to them, Is it because there is no God in Israel, that you are going to get directions from Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron?
3 여호와의 사자가 디셉 사람 엘리야에게 이르시되 너는 일어나 올라가서 사마리아 왕의 사자를 만나서 저에게 이르기를 이스라엘에 하나님이 없어서 너희가 에그론의 신 바알세붑에게 물으러 가느냐
4 Now therefore thus saith the LORD, Thou shalt not come down from that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surelydie. And Elijahdeparted.[x]MKJV: And therefore so says the LORD, You shall not come from that bed on which you have gone up, but shall surely die. And Elijah left. BBE: Give ear then to the words of the Lord: You will never again get down from the bed on to which you have gone up, but death will certainly come to you. Then Elijah went away. KAV: 그러므로 이제 {주}가 이같이 말하노라. 네가 올라간 침상에서 내려오지 못할 것이요, 네가 반드시 죽으리라, 하라, 하매 엘리야가 떠나가니라.
4 Give ear then to the words of the Lord: You will never again get down from the bed on to which you have gone up, but death will certainly come to you. Then Elijah went away.
4 그러므로 여호와의 말씀이 네가 올라간 침상에서 내려오지 못할찌라 네가 반드시 죽으리라 하셨다 하라 엘리야가 이에 가니라
5 And when the messengers turned back unto him, he said unto them, Why are ye now turned back?[x]MKJV: And the messengers turned back to him. And he said, Why have you now turned back? BBE: And the men he had sent came back to the king; and he said to them, Why have you come back? KAV: ¶ 사자들이 왕에게 돌아오매 왕이 그들에게 이르되, 너희가 어찌하여 지금 돌아왔느냐? 하니
5 And the men he had sent came back to the king; and he said to them, Why have you come back?
5 사자들이 왕에게 돌아오니 왕이 이르되 너희는 어찌하여 돌아왔느냐
6 And they said unto him, There came a manup to meet us, and said unto us, Go, turn again unto the king that sent you, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Is it not because there is not a God in Israel, that thou sendest to inquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron? therefore thou shalt not come down from that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surelydie.[x]MKJV: And they said to him, A man came up to meet us and said to us, Go, turn again to the king who sent you, and say to him, So says the LORD, [Is it] not because no God [is] in Israel [that you go to ask of Baal-zebub the god of Ekron? 6 And they said to him, On our way we had a meeting with a man who said, Go back to the king who sent you and say to him, The Lord says, Is it because there is no God in Israel that you send to put a question to Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron? For this reason, you will not come down from the bed on to which you have gone up, but death will certainly come to you.
6 저희가 고하되 한 사람이 올라와서 우리를 만나 이르되 너희는 너희를 보낸 왕에게로 돌아가서 저에게 고하기를 여호와의 말씀이 이스라엘에 하나님이 없어서 네가 에그론의 신 바알세붑에게 물으려고 보내느냐 그러므로 네가 올라간 침상에서 내려오지 못할찌라 네가 반드시 죽으리라 하셨다 하라 하더이다
7 And he said unto them, What manner of manwas he which came up to meet you, and told you these words?[x]MKJV: And he said to them, What kind of man [was he] who came up to meet you and told you these words? BBE: And he said to them, What sort of a man was it who came and said these words to you? KAV: 왕이 그들에게 이르되, 너희를 만나려고 올라와 이 말을 너희에게 고한 그 사람이 어떻게 생긴 사람이더냐? 하니
7 And he said to them, What sort of a man was it who came and said these words to you?
7 왕이 저희에게 이르되 올라와서 너희를 만나 이 말을 너희에게 고한 그 사람의 모양이 어떠하더냐
8 And they answered him, He was an hairymanㆍ, and girt with a girdle of leather about his loins. And he said, It isElijah the Tishbite.[x]MKJV: And they answered him, [He was] a hairy man and was bound with a girdle of leather around his loins. And he said, He [is] Elijah the Tishbite. BBE: And they said in answer, He was a man clothed in a coat of hair, with a leather band about his body. Then he said, It is Elijah the Tishbite. KAV: 그들이 그에게 대답하되, 그는 털이 많은 사람이며 허리에 가죽 띠를 띠었더이다, 하매 왕이 이르되, 그는 디셉 사람 엘리야로다, 하니라.
8 And they said in answer, He was a man clothed in a coat of hair, with a leather band about his body. Then he said, It is Elijah the Tishbite.
8 저희가 대답하되 그는 털이 많은 사람인데 허리에 가죽 띠를 띠었더이다 왕이 가로되 그는 디셉 사람 엘리야로다
9 Then the kingsent unto him a captain of fifty with his fifty. And he went up to him: and, behold, he sat on the top of an hill. And he spake unto him, Thou man of God, the king hath said, Come down.[x]MKJV: And he sent to him a commander of fifty with his fifty. And he went up to him. And, behold, he sat on the top of a hill. And he spoke to him, Man of God! The king has said, Come down. BBE: Then the king sent to him a captain of fifty with his fifty men; and he went up to him where he was seated on the top of a hill, and said to him, O man of God, the king has said, Come down. KAV: 그때에 왕이 오십인 대장과 그의 부하 오십 명을 엘리야에게로 보내매 오십인 대장이 엘리야에게로 올라가더라. 보라, 엘리야가 산꼭대기에 앉았으므로 그가 엘리야에게 이르되, [하나님]의 사람이여, 왕께서, 내려오라, 하셨나이다, 하니
9 Then the king sent to him a captain of fifty with his fifty men; and he went up to him where he was seated on the top of a hill, and said to him, O man of God, the king has said, Come down.
9 이에 오십부장과 그 오십인을 엘리야에게로 보내매 저가 엘리야에게로 올라가서 본즉 산 꼭대기에 앉았는지라 저가 엘리야에게 이르되 하나님의 사람이여 왕의 말씀이 내려오라 하셨나이다
10 And Elijahanswered and said to the captain of fifty, If I be a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And there came downfire from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.[x]MKJV: And Elijah answered and said to the commander of fifty, If I [am] a man of God, then let fire come down from the heavens and burn up you and your fifty. And there came down fire from the heavens and burned up him and his fifty. BBE: And Elijah in answer said to the captain of fifty, If I am a man of God, may fire come down from heaven on you and on your fifty men, and put an end to you. Then fire came down from heaven and put an end to him and his fifty men. KAV: 엘리야가 오십인 대장에게 응답하여 이르되, 내가 만일 [하나님]의 사람이면 불이 하늘에서 내려와 너와 네 부하 오십 명을 사를지로다, 하매 불이 하늘에서 내려와 그와 그의 부하 오십 명을 살랐더라.
10 And Elijah in answer said to the captain of fifty, If I am a man of God, may fire come down from heaven on you and on your fifty men, and put an end to you. Then fire came down from heaven and put an end to him and his fifty men.
10 엘리야가 오십부장에게 대답하여 가로되 내가 만일 하나님의 사람이면 불이 하늘에서 내려와서 너와 너의 오십인을 사를찌로다 하매 불이 곧 하늘에서 내려와서 저와 그 오십인을 살랐더라
11Again also he sent unto him anothercaptain of fifty with his fifty. And he answered and said unto him, O man of God, thus hath the kingsaid, Come downquickly.[x]MKJV: And he turned and he sent to him another commander of fifty with his fifty. And he answered and said to him, Man of God! So says the king, Come down quickly. BBE: Then the king sent another captain of fifty with his fifty men; and he said to Elijah, O man of God, the king says, Come down quickly. KAV: 왕이 또 다시 다른 오십인 대장과 그의 부하 오십 명을 엘리야에게로 보내매 그가 엘리야에게 응답하여 이르되, 오 [하나님]의 사람이여, 왕께서, 속히 내려오라, 하셨나이다, 하니
11 Then the king sent another captain of fifty with his fifty men; and he said to Elijah, O man of God, the king says, Come down quickly.
11 왕이 다시 다른 오십부장과 그 오십인을 엘리야에게로 보내니 저가 엘리야에게 일러 가로되 하나님의 사람이여 왕의 말씀이 속히 내려오라 하셨나이다
12 And Elijahanswered and said unto them, If I be a man of God, let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And the fire of God came down from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.[x]MKJV: And Elijah answered and said to him, If I [am] a man of God, let fire come down from the heavens and burn up you and your fifty. And the fire of God came down from the heavens and burned up him and his fifty. BBE: And Elijah in answer said, If I am a man of God, may fire come down from heaven on you and on your fifty men, and put an end to you. And the fire of God came down from heaven, and put an end to him and his fifty men. KAV: 엘리야가 그들에게 응답하여 이르되, 내가 만일 [하나님]의 사람이면 불이 하늘에서 내려와 너와 네 부하 오십 명을 사를지로다, 하매 [하나님]의 불이 하늘에서 내려와 그와 그의 부하 오십 명을 살랐더라.
12 And Elijah in answer said, If I am a man of God, may fire come down from heaven on you and on your fifty men, and put an end to you. And the fire of God came down from heaven, and put an end to him and his fifty men.
12 엘리야가 저희에게 대답하여 가로되 내가 만일 하나님의 사람이면 불이 하늘에서 내려와서 너와 너의 오십인을 사를찌로다 하매 하나님의 불이 곧 하늘에서 내려와서 저와 그 오십인을 살랐더라
13 And he sentagain a captain of the thirdfifty with his fifty. And the thirdcaptain of fifty went up, and came and fell on his kneesbeforeElijah, and besought him, and said unto him, O man of God, I pray thee, let my life, and the life of these fifty thy servants, be precious in thy sight.[x]MKJV: And he turned and sent again a third commander of fifty and his fifty. And the third commander of fifty came up and fell on his knees before Elijah, and begged him, and said to him, Man of God, Please let my life and the life of these fifty, your servants, be precious in your sight. BBE: Then he sent a third captain of fifty with his fifty men; and the third captain of fifty went up, and falling on his knees before Elijah, requesting mercy of him, said, O man of God, let my life and the life of these your fifty servants be of value to you. KAV: ¶ 왕이 다시 세 번째 오십인 대장과 그의 부하 오십 명을 보내므로 세 번째 오십인 대장이 올라가서 엘리야 앞에 이르러 무릎을 꿇고 엎드려 그에게 간청하여 이르되, 오 [하나님]의 사람이여, 원하건대 내 생명과 당신의 종인 이 오십 명의 생명을 당신의 눈앞에서 귀히 여기소서.
13 Then he sent a third captain of fifty with his fifty men; and the third captain of fifty went up, and falling on his knees before Elijah, requesting mercy of him, said, O man of God, let my life and the life of these your fifty servants be of value to you.
13 왕이 세번째 오십부장과 그 오십인을 보낸지라 세째 오십부장이 올라가서 엘리야의 앞에 이르러 꿇어 엎드려 간구하여 가로되 하나님의 사람이여 원컨대 나의 생명과 당신의 종인 이 오십인의 생명을 당신은 귀히 보소서
14 Behold, there camefiredown from heaven, and burnt up the twocaptains of the formerfifties with their fifties: therefore let my life now be precious in thy sight.[x]MKJV: Behold, fire has come down from the heavens and burned up the two commanders of the former fifties with their fifties. And now let my life be precious in your sight. BBE: For fire came down from heaven and put an end to the first two captains of fifty and their fifties; but now let my life be of value in your eyes. KAV: 보소서, 불이 하늘에서 내려와 지난번의 오십인 대장 두 명과 그들의 부하 오십 명씩을 태웠사오니 그런즉 이제 내 생명을 당신의 눈앞에서 귀히 여기소서, 하매
14 For fire came down from heaven and put an end to the first two captains of fifty and their fifties; but now let my life be of value in your eyes.
14 불이 하늘에서 내려와서 전번의 오십부장 둘과 그 오십인들을 살랐거니와 나의 생명을 당신은 귀히 보소서 하매
15 And the angel of the LORDsaid unto Elijah, Go down with him: be not afraid of him. And he arose, and went down with him unto the king.[x]MKJV: And the Angel of the LORD said to Elijah, Go down with him. Do not be afraid of him. And he arose and went down with him to the king. BBE: Then the angel of the Lord said to Elijah, Go down with him; have no fear of him. So he got up and went down with him to the king. KAV: {주}의 천사가 엘리야에게 이르되, 그를 두려워하지 말고 그와 함께 내려가라, 하시니라. 엘리야가 일어나 그와 함께 내려와 왕에게 이르러
15 Then the angel of the Lord said to Elijah, Go down with him; have no fear of him. So he got up and went down with him to the king.
15 여호와의 사자가 엘리야에게 이르되 너는 저를 두려워 말고 함께 내려가라 하신지라 엘리야가 곧 일어나 저와 함께 내려와서 왕에게 이르러
16 And he said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Forasmuch as thou hast sentmessengers to inquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron, is it not because there is no God in Israel to inquire of his word? therefore thou shalt not come down off that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surelydie.[x]MKJV: And [he] said to him, So says the LORD, Because you have sent messengers to ask of Baal-zebub the god of Ekron, [Is it] not because no God [is] in Israel to seek His word? Therefore you shall not come down off that bed on which you have gone up, but shall surely die. BBE: And he said to him, This is the word of the Lord: Because you sent men to put a question to Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron, for this reason you will never again get down from the bed on to which you have gone up, but death will certainly come to you. KAV: 그에게 말하되, {주}가 이같이 말하노라. 네가 사자들을 보내어 에그론의 신 바알세붑에게 물으려 하였으니 그것은 이스라엘에 말씀을 여쭐 만한 [하나님]이 없기 때문이 아니냐? 그러므로 네가 올라간 침상에서 내려오지 못할 것이요, 네가 반드시 죽으리라, 하니라.
16 And he said to him, This is the word of the Lord: Because you sent men to put a question to Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron, for this reason you will never again get down from the bed on to which you have gone up, but death will certainly come to you.
16 고하되 여호와의 말씀이 네가 사자를 보내어 에그론의 신 바알세붑에게 물으려하니 이스라엘에 그 말을 물을만한 하나님이 없음이냐 그러므로 네가 그 올라간 침상에서 내려오지 못할찌라 네가 반드시 죽으리라 하셨다 하니라
17 So he died according to the word of the LORD which Elijah had spoken. And Jehoramreigned in his stead in the secondyear of Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphatking of Judah; because he had no son.[x]MKJV: And he died according to the word of the LORD which Elijah had spoken. And Jehoram reigned in his place, in the second year of Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, because he had no son. BBE: So death came to him, as the Lord had said by the mouth of Elijah. And Jehoram became king in his place in the second year of the rule of Jehoram, son of Jehoshaphat, king of Judah; because he had no son. KAV: ¶ 이처럼 왕이 엘리야가 말한 {주}의 말씀대로 죽고 그에게 아들이 없었으므로 여호람이 그를 대신하여 유다 왕 여호사밧의 아들 여호람의 제이년에 통치하니라.
17 So death came to him, as the Lord had said by the mouth of Elijah. And Jehoram became king in his place in the second year of the rule of Jehoram, son of Jehoshaphat, king of Judah; because he had no son.
17 왕이 엘리야의 전한 여호와의 말씀대로 죽고 저가 아들이 없으므로 여호람이 대신하여 왕이 되니 유다 왕 여호사밧의 아들 여호람의 제 이년이었더라
18 Now the rest of the acts of Ahaziah which he did, are they not written in the book of the chroniclesof the kings of Israel?[x]MKJV: And the rest of the acts of Ahaziah which he did, [are] they not written in the Matters of the Days of the Kings of Israel? BBE: Now the rest of the acts of Ahaziah, are they not recorded in the book of the history of the kings of Israel? KAV: 이제 아하시야가 행한 행적의 남은 부분은 이스라엘 왕들의 연대기 책에 기록되어 있지 아니하냐?
