1Havingthereforethesepromises, dearly beloved, let us cleanseourselvesfromallfilthiness of the fleshandspirit, perfectingholinessin the fear of God.
1 Because God, then, will give us such rewards, dear brothers, let us make ourselves clean from all evil of flesh and spirit, and become completely holy in the fear of God.

3 I speaknotthistocondemnyou:for I have said before, that ye areinourheartstodieand live withyou.
3 It is not with the purpose of judging you that I say this: for I have said before that you are in our hearts for life and death together.
3 내가 정죄하려고 이 말을 하는 것이 아니라 이전에 말하였거니와 너희로 우리 마음에 있어 함께 죽고 함께 살게 하고자 함이라

7Andnotbyhiscomingonly, butㆍby the consolationwherewith he was comfortedinyou, when he toldusyour earnest desire, yourmourning, your fervent mindtowardme; so that Irejoiced the more.
7 And not by his coming only, but by the comfort which he had in you, while he gave us word of your desire, your sorrow, your care for me; so that I was still more glad.
7 저의 온 것뿐 아니요 오직 저가 너희에게 받은 그 위로로 위로하고 너희의 사모함과 애통함과 나를 위하여 열심 있는 것을 우리에게 고함으로 나로 더욱 기쁘게 하였느니라
8Forthough I madeyousorrywith a letter, I donotrepent, though I did repent: for I perceivethat the sameepistle hath madeyousorry, though it werebutfor a season.
8 For though my letter gave you pain, I have no regret for it now, though I had before; for I see that the letter gave you pain, but only for a time.

10 하나님의 뜻대로 하는 근심은 후회할 것이 없는 구원에 이르게 하는 회개를 이루는 것이요 세상 근심은 사망을 이루는 것이니라
11Forbeholdthis selfsame thing, that ye sorrowedafter a godly sort, whatcarefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, whatindignation, yea, whatfear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, whatzeal, yea, whatrevenge! Inallthings ye have approvedyourselves to beclearin this matter.
11 For you see what care was produced in you by this very sorrow of yours before God, what clearing of yourselves, what wrath against sin, what fear, what desire, what serious purpose, what punishment. In everything you have made it clear that you are free from sin in this business.
11 보라 하나님의 뜻대로 하게 한 이 근심이 너희로 얼마나 간절하게 하며 얼마나 변명하게 하며 얼마나 분하게 하며 얼마나 두렵게 하며 얼마나 사모하게 하며 얼마나 열심있게 하며 얼마나 벌하게 하였는가, 너희가 저 일에 대하여 일절 너희 자신의 깨끗함을 나타내었느니라
12Wherefore, though I wrote unto you, I did itnot for his cause that had done the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered wrong, butthatourcareforyou in the sight of God might appearuntoyou.
12 So though I sent you a letter, it was not only because of the man who did the wrong, or because of him to whom the wrong was done, but so that your true care for us might be made clear in the eyes of God.
