The preference of the gospel to the law given by Moses. (1-11) The preaching of the apostle was suitable to the excellency and evidence of the gospel, through the power of the Holy Ghost. (12-18)
KJV BBE KRV
Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you?1 Do we seem to be again attempting to put ourselves in the right? or have we need, as some have, of letters of approval to you or from you?1 우리가 다시 자천하기를 시작하겠느냐 우리가 어찌 어떤 사람처럼 천거서를 너희에게 부치거나 혹 너희에게 맡거나 할 필요가 있느냐
Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:2 You yourselves are our letter, whose writing is in our heart, open for every man's reading and knowledge;2 너희가 우리의 편지라 우리 마음에 썼고 뭇사람이 알고 읽는바라
Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshly tables of the heart.3 For you are clearly a letter of Christ, the fruit of our work, recorded not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in stone, but in hearts of flesh.3 너희는 우리로 말미암아 나타난 그리스도의 편지니 이는 먹으로 쓴 것이 아니요 오직 살아 계신 하나님의 영으로 한 것이며 또 돌비에 쓴 것이 아니요 오직 육의 심비에 한 것이라
And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward:4 And this is the certain faith which we have in God through Christ:4 우리가 그리스도로 말미암아 하나님을 향하여 이같은 확신이 있으니
Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;5 Not as if we were able by ourselves to do anything for which we might take the credit; but our power comes from God;5 우리가 무슨 일이든지 우리에게서 난것 같이 생각하여 스스로 만족할 것이 아니니 우리의 만족은 오직 하나님께로서 났느니라
Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.6 Who has made us able to be servants of a new agreement; not of the letter, but of the Spirit: for the letter gives death, but the Spirit gives life.6 저가 또 우리로 새 언약의 일군 되기에 만족케 하셨으니 의문으로 하지 아니하고 오직 영으로 함이니 의문은 죽이는 것이요 영은 살리는 것임이니라
But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious , so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:7 For if the operation of the law, giving death, recorded in letters on stone, came with glory, so that the eyes of the children of Israel had to be turned away from the face of Moses because of its glory, a glory which was only for a time:7 돌에 써서 새긴 죽게 하는 의문의 직분도 영광이 있어 이스라엘 자손들이 모세의 얼굴의 없어질 영광을 인하여 그 얼굴을 주목하지 못하였거든
How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?8 Will not the operation of the Spirit have a much greater glory?8 하물며 영의 직분이 더욱 영광이 있지 아니하겠느냐
For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.9 For if the operation of the law, producing punishment, had its glory, how much greater will be the operation of the Spirit causing righteousness?9 정죄의 직분도 영광이 있은즉 의의 직분은 영광이 더욱 넘치리라
For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth.10 For the glory of the first no longer seems to be glory, because of the greater glory of that which comes after.10 영광되었던 것이 더 큰 영광을 인하여 이에 영광될 것이 없으나
For if that which is done away was glorious , much more that which remaineth is glorious.11 For if the order which was for a time had its glory, much more will the eternal order have its glory.11 없어질 것도 영광으로 말미암았은즉 길이 있을 것은 더욱 영광 가운데 있느니라
Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:12 Having then such a hope, we keep nothing back,12 우리가 이같은 소망이 있으므로 담대히 말하노니
And not as Moses, which put a veil over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:13 And are not like Moses, who put a veil on his face, so that the children of Israel might not see clearly to the end of the present order of things:13 우리는 모세가 이스라엘 자손들로 장차 없어질 것의 결국을 주목치 못하게 하려고 수건을 그 얼굴에 쓴것 같이 아니하노라
But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same veil untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which veil is done away in Christ.14 But their minds were made hard: for to this very day at the reading of the old agreement the same veil is still unlifted; though it is taken away in Christ.14 그러나 저희 마음이 완고하여 오늘까지라도 구약을 읽을 때에 그 수건이 오히려 벗어지지 아니하고 있으니 그 수건은 그리스도 안에서 없어질 것이라
But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the veil is upon their heart.15 But to this day, at the reading of the law of Moses, a veil is over their heart.15 오늘까지 모세의 글을 읽을 때에 수건이 오히려 그 마음을 덮었도다
Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the veil shall be taken away.16 But when it is turned to the Lord, the veil will be taken away.16 그러나 언제든지 주께로 돌아가면 그 수건이 벗어지리라
Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.17 Now the Lord is the Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there the heart is free.17 주는 영이시니 주의 영이 계신 곳에는 자유함이 있느니라
But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.18 But we all, with unveiled face giving back as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord who is the Spirit.18 우리가 다 수건을 벗은 얼굴로 거울을 보는것 같이 주의 영광을 보매 저와 같은 형상으로 화하여 영광으로 영광에 이르니 곧 주의 영으로 말미암음이니라
