2 But I have built an house of habitation for thee, and a place for thy dwelling for ever.[x]MKJV: And I have built a house for You to live in, and a place for Your dwelling forever. BBE: So I have made for you a living-place, a house in which you may be for ever present. KAV: 내가 주를 위해 거처를 건축하였사오니 곧 주께서 영원히 거하실 처소로소이다, 하고
2 So I have made for you a living-place, a house in which you may be for ever present.

4 And he said, Blessedbe the LORDGod of Israel, who hath with his handsfulfilledthat which he spake with his mouth to my fatherDavid, saying,[x]MKJV: And he said, Blessed [be] the LORD God of Israel, who has with His hands fulfilled that which He spoke with His mouth to my father David, saying, BBE: And he said, Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, who himself gave his word to my father David, and with his strong hand has made his word come true, saying, KAV: 그가 이르되, {주} 이스라엘의 [하나님]을 찬송할지로다. 그분께서 자신의 입으로 내 아버지 다윗에게 말씀하신 것을 친히 자신의 손으로 이루셨도다. 이르시기를,
4 And he said, Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, who himself gave his word to my father David, and with his strong hand has made his word come true, saying,
4 왕이 가로되 이스라엘 하나님 여호와를 송축할찌로다 여호와께서 그 입으로 나의 부친 다윗에게 말씀하신 것을 이제 그 손으로 이루셨도다 이르시기를
5 Since the day that I brought forth my people out of the land of Egypt I chose no city among all the tribes of Israel to build an house in, that my name might be there; neither chose I any man to be a ruler over my peopleIsrael:[x]MKJV: From the day that I brought My people out of the land of Egypt I have not chosen any city among all the tribes of Israel to build a house in, so that My name might be there. Nor have I chosen any man to be a ruler over My people Israel. 5 From the day when I took my people out of the land of Egypt, no town in all the tribes of Israel has been marked out by me for the building of a house for the resting-place of my name; and I took no man to be a ruler over my people Israel;
5 내가 내 백성을 애굽 땅에서 인도하여 낸 날부터 내 이름을 둘만한 집을 건축하기 위하여 이스라엘 모든 지파 가운데서 아무 성읍도 택하지 아니하였으며 내 백성 이스라엘의 주권자를 삼기 위하여 아무 사람도 택하지 아니하였더니
6 But I have chosenJerusalem, that my name might be there; and have chosenDavid to be over my peopleIsrael.[x]MKJV: But now I have chosen Jerusalem, so that My name might be there, and now I have chosen David to be over My people Israel. BBE: But now I have made selection of Jerusalem, that my name might be there, and of David, to be over my people Israel. KAV: 오직 예루살렘을 택하여 내 이름을 거기에 두고 또 다윗을 택하여 내 백성 이스라엘을 다스리게 하였노라, 하였으므로

8 But the LORDsaid to David my father, Forasmuch as it was in thine heart to build an house for my name, thou didst well in that it was in thine heart:[x]MKJV: But the LORD said to David my father, Because it was in your heart to build a house for My name, you did well in that it was in your heart. BBE: But the Lord said to David my father, You did well to have in your heart the desire to make a house for my name: KAV: {주}께서 내 아버지 다윗에게 이르시되, 네가 내 이름을 위해 집을 건축할 것을 마음에 품었으니 네가 그 일을 마음에 품음으로써 잘하였도다.
8 But the Lord said to David my father, You did well to have in your heart the desire to make a house for my name:
8 여호와께서 내 부친 다윗에게 이르시되 네가 내 이름을 위하여 전을 건축할 마음이 있으니 이 마음이 네게 있는 것이 좋도다
9Notwithstanding thou shalt not build the house; but thy son which shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house for my name.[x]MKJV: But you shall not build the house; but your son, who shall come forth out of your loins, shall build the house for My name. BBE: But you yourself will not be the builder of the house; but your son, the offspring of your body, he it is who will put up a house for my name. KAV: 그럼에도 불구하고 너는 그 집을 건축하지 못할 것이요, 오직 네 허리에서 나올 네 아들 그가 내 이름을 위해 집을 건축하리라, 하셨느니라.
9 But you yourself will not be the builder of the house; but your son, the offspring of your body, he it is who will put up a house for my name.

10 The LORD therefore hath performed his word that he hath spoken: for I am risen up in the room of David my father, and am set on the throne of Israel, as the LORDpromised, and have built the house for the name of the LORDGod of Israel.[x]MKJV: And the LORD has lifted up His word that He has spoken. For I have risen up in place of David my father, and am set on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and I have built the house for the name of the LORD God of Israel. BBE: And the Lord has kept his word; for I have taken my father David's place on the seat of the kingdom of Israel, as the Lord gave his word; and I have made the house for the name of the Lord the God of Israel. 10 And the Lord has kept his word; for I have taken my father David's place on the seat of the kingdom of Israel, as the Lord gave his word; and I have made the house for the name of the Lord the God of Israel.
10 이제 여호와께서 말씀하신대로 이루시도다 내가 여호와의 허하신대로 내 부친 다윗을 대신하여 일어나서 이스라엘 위에 앉고 이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 이름을 위하여 전을 건축하고
11 And in it have I put the ark, wherein is the covenant of the LORD, that he made with the children of Israel.[x]MKJV: And I have put the ark in it, in which [is] the covenant of the LORD which He made with the sons of Israel. BBE: And there I have put the ark, in which is the agreement of the Lord, which he made with the people of Israel. KAV: 또 내가 그 안에 그분께서 이스라엘 자손과 맺으신 {주}의 언약을 넣은 궤를 두었노라, 하니라.

And he had set it in the midst of the court. And he stood on it, and kneeled down on his knees before all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward Heaven. BBE: (For Solomon had made a brass stage, five cubits long, five cubits wide and three cubits high, and had put it in the middle of the open space; on this he took his place and went down on his knees before all the meeting of Israel, stretching out his hands to heaven.) 13 (For Solomon had made a brass stage, five cubits long, five cubits wide and three cubits high, and had put it in the middle of the open space; on this he took his place and went down on his knees before all the meeting of Israel, stretching out his hands to heaven.)
13 솔로몬이 이왕에 놋으로 대를 만들었으니 장이 다섯 규빗이요 광이 다섯 규빗이요 고가 세 규빗이라 뜰 가운데 두었더니 저가 그 위에 서서 이스라엘의 회중 앞에서 무릎을 꿇고 하늘을 향하여 손을 펴고
14 And said, O LORDGod of Israel, there is no God like thee in the heaven, nor in the earth; which keepestcovenant, and showestmercy unto thy servants, that walkbefore thee with all their hearts:[x]MKJV: And he said, O LORD God of Israel, [there is] no God like You in Heaven or in earth. You keep Your covenant and show mercy to Your servants who walk before You with all their hearts. BBE: And he said, O Lord, the God of Israel, there is no God like you in heaven or on earth; keeping faith and mercy unchanging for your servants, while they go in your ways with all their hearts; KAV: 이르되, 오 {주} 이스라엘의 [하나님]이여, 하늘에나 땅에 주와 같은 [하나님]이 없나이다. 주께서는 마음을 다해 주 앞에서 걷는 주의 종들에게 언약을 지키시고 긍휼을 베푸시나이다.
14 And he said, O Lord, the God of Israel, there is no God like you in heaven or on earth; keeping faith and mercy unchanging for your servants, while they go in your ways with all their hearts;
14 가로되 이스라엘 하나님 여호와여 천지에 주와 같은 신이 없나이다 주께서는 온 마음으로 주의 앞에서 행하는 주의 종들에게 언약을 지키시고 은혜를 베푸시나이다
15 Thou which hast kept with thy servantDavid my father that which thou hast promised him; and spakest with thy mouth, and hast fulfilledit with thine hand, as it is this day.[x]MKJV: You have kept with Your servant David my father that which You have promised him. And You spoke with Your mouth, and have fulfilled [it] with Your hand, as [it is] this day. BBE: For you have kept the word which you gave to your servant David, my father; with your mouth you said it and with your hand you have made it come true this day. KAV: 주께서 주의 종 내 아버지 다윗에게 약속하신 것을 그에게 지키시고 또 주의 입으로 말씀하시고 주의 손으로 그것을 이루신 것이 이 날과 같으니이다.
15 For you have kept the word which you gave to your servant David, my father; with your mouth you said it and with your hand you have made it come true this day.
15 주께서 주의 종 내 아비 다윗에게 허하신 말씀을 지키시되 주의 입으로 말씀하신 것을 손으로 이루심이 오늘날과 같으니이다
16 Now therefore, O LORDGod of Israel, keep with thy servantDavid my father that which thou hast promised him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit upon the throne of Israel; yet so that thy children take heed to their way to walk in my law, as thou hast walkedbefore me.[x]MKJV: And now, O LORD God of Israel, keep with Your servant David my father that which You have promised him, saying, There shall not fail you a man in My sight to sit on the throne of Israel, if only your sons take heed to their way to walk in My law, as you have walked before Me. BBE: So now, O Lord, the God of Israel, let your word to your servant David, my father, come true, when you said, You will never be without a man to take his place before me on the seat of the kingdom of Israel; if only your children give attention to their ways, walking in my law, as you have done before me. 16 So now, O Lord, the God of Israel, let your word to your servant David, my father, come true, when you said, You will never be without a man to take his place before me on the seat of the kingdom of Israel; if only your children give attention to their ways, walking in my law, as you have done before me.
16 이스라엘 하나님 여호와여 주께서 주의 종 내 아비 다윗에게 말씀하시기를 네 자손이 자기 길을 삼가서 네가 내 앞에서 행한 것 같이 내 율법대로 행하기만 하면 네게로 좇아 나서 이스라엘 위에 앉을 사람이 내 앞에서 끊어지지 아니하리라 하셨사오니 이제 다윗을 위하여 그 허하신 말씀을 지키시옵소서
17 Now then, O LORDGod of Israel, let thy word be verified, which thou hast spoken unto thy servantDavid.[x]MKJV: And now, O LORD God of Israel, let Your word be proven true, which You have spoken to Your servant David. BBE: So now, O Lord, the God of Israel, make your word come true which you said to your servant David. KAV: 그런즉, 오 {주} 이스라엘의 [하나님]이여, 이제 주께서 주의 종 다윗에게 하신 주의 말씀을 확증하옵소서.
17 So now, O Lord, the God of Israel, make your word come true which you said to your servant David.
17 그런즉 이스라엘 하나님 여호와여 원컨대 주는 주의 종 다윗에게 하신 말씀이 확실하게 하옵소서
18 But will God in very deeddwell with men on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house which I have built![x]MKJV: But truly will God in deed dwell with men on the earth? Behold, Heavens and heaven of the heavens cannot contain You! How much less this house which I have built? BBE: But is it truly possible that God may be housed with men on earth? see, heaven and the heaven of heavens are not wide enough to be your resting-place: how much less this house which I have made: KAV: 그러나 [하나님]께서 참으로 사람들과 함께 땅에 거하시리이까? 보소서, 하늘과 하늘들의 하늘이라도 주를 품지 못하겠거늘 하물며 내가 건축한 이 집이오리이까!
18 But is it truly possible that God may be housed with men on earth? see, heaven and the heaven of heavens are not wide enough to be your resting-place: how much less this house which I have made:
18 하나님이 참으로 사람과 함께 땅에 거하시리이까 하늘과 하늘들의 하늘이라도 주를 용납지 못하겠거든 하물며 내가 건축한 이 전이오리이까
19 Have respect therefore to the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, O LORD my God, to hearken unto the cry and the prayer which thy servantprayethbefore thee:[x]MKJV: And You have turned toward the prayer of Your servant, and to his cry, O LORD my God, to listen to the cry and the prayer which Your servant prays before You. BBE: Still, let your heart be turned to the prayer of your servant and to his prayer for grace, O Lord my God, and give ear to the cry and the prayer which your servant makes before you; KAV: 그러므로, 오 {주} 내 [하나님]이여, 주의 종의 기도와 간구에 관심을 기울이시고 또 주의 종이 주 앞에서 기도하는 기도와 부르짖음에 귀를 기울이시옵소서.
19 Still, let your heart be turned to the prayer of your servant and to his prayer for grace, O Lord my God, and give ear to the cry and the prayer which your servant makes before you;
19 그러나 나의 하나님 여호와여 종의 기도와 간구를 돌아보시며 종이 주의 앞에서 부르짖음과 비는 기도를 들으시옵소서
20 That thine eyes may be open upon this houseday and night, upon the place whereof thou hast said that thou wouldest put thy name there; to hearken unto the prayer which thy servantprayeth toward this place.[x]MKJV: I pray that Your eyes may be open on this house day and night, on the place of which You have said that You would put Your name there, to listen to the prayer which Your servant prays toward this place. BBE: That your eyes may be open to this house day and night, to this place of which you have said that you would put your name there; to give ear to the prayer which your servant may make, turning to this place. KAV: 주께서 전에 말씀하사 친히 주의 이름을 두리라고 하신 곳 즉 이 집을 향해 밤낮으로 주의 눈을 여시고 주의 종이 이곳을 향해 기도하는 기도에 귀를 기울이시옵소서.
20 That your eyes may be open to this house day and night, to this place of which you have said that you would put your name there; to give ear to the prayer which your servant may make, turning to this place.
20 주께서 전에 말씀하시기를 내 이름을 거기 두리라 하신 곳 이 전을 향하여 주의 눈이 주야로 보옵시며 종이 이곳을 향하여 비는 기도를 들으시옵소서
21Hearken therefore unto the supplications of thy servant, and of thy peopleIsrael, which they shall make toward this place: hear thou from thy dwellingplace, even from heaven; and when thou hearest, forgive.[x]MKJV: And You will listen to the cries of Your servant, and of Your people Israel, which they shall pray toward this place, and You will hear from Your dwelling place, from Heaven, and shall hear and forgive. BBE: And give ear to the prayers of your servant and of your people Israel, when they make their prayers, turning to this place; give ear from heaven your living-place; and hearing have mercy. KAV: 그런즉 주의 종과 주의 백성 이스라엘이 이곳을 향해 간구할 때에 주께서는 그들의 간구에 귀를 기울이시며 주의 거처에서부터 곧 하늘에서부터 들으시고 들으실 때에 용서하여 주옵소서.
21 And give ear to the prayers of your servant and of your people Israel, when they make their prayers, turning to this place; give ear from heaven your living-place; and hearing have mercy.
21 종과 주의 백성 이스라엘이 이곳을 향하여 기도할 때에 주는 그 간구함을 들으시되 주의 계신 곳 하늘에서 들으시고 들으시사 사하여 주옵소서
22 If a mansin against his neighbour, and an oath be laid upon him to make him swear, and the oathcomebefore thine altar in this house;[x]MKJV: If a man sins against his neighbor, and if an oath is laid on him to make him swear, and if the oath comes before Your altar in this house, BBE: If a man does wrong to his neighbour and has to take an oath, and comes before your altar to take his oath in this house: KAV: ¶ 만일 어떤 사람이 자기 이웃에게 죄를 지었으므로 그가 맹세하게 하는 서약을 맺고 그 서약이 이 집에 있는 주의 제단 앞에 이르거든
22 If a man does wrong to his neighbour and has to take an oath, and comes before your altar to take his oath in this house:
22 만일 어떤 사람이 그 이웃에게 범죄하므로 맹세시킴을 받고 저가 와서 이 전에 있는 주의 단 앞에서 맹세하거든
23 Then hear thou from heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, by requiting the wicked, by recompensing his way upon his own head; and by justifying the righteous, by giving him according to his righteousness.[x]MKJV: then hear from Heaven, and do, and judge Your servants by repaying the wicked, by bringing his way back on his own head, and by justifying [the] righteous, by giving to him according to his righteousness. BBE: Then let your ear be open in heaven, and be the judge of your servants, giving punishment to the wrongdoer, so that his sin may come on his head; and, by your decision, keeping from evil him who has done no wrong. KAV: 그때에 주께서는 하늘에서부터 들으시고 행하시며 사악한 자를 보복하사 그의 길을 그의 머리에 갚으시고 또 의로운 자를 의롭다 하사 그의 의대로 그에게 갚으심으로써 주의 종들을 심판하시옵소서.
23 Then let your ear be open in heaven, and be the judge of your servants, giving punishment to the wrongdoer, so that his sin may come on his head; and, by your decision, keeping from evil him who has done no wrong.
23 주는 하늘에서 들으시고 행하시되 주의 종들을 국문하사 악한 자의 죄를 정하여 그 행위대로 그 머리에 돌리시고 의로운 자를 의롭다 하사 그 의로운대로 갚으시옵소서
24 And if thy peopleIsrael be put to the worsebefore the enemy, because they have sinned against thee; and shall return and confess thy name, and pray and make supplicationbefore thee in this house;[x]MKJV: And if Your people Israel be put to the worse before the enemy because they have sinned against You, and if they shall return and confess Your name, and shall pray and cry before You in this house, BBE: And if your people Israel are overcome in war, because of their sin against you; if they are turned to you again, honouring your name, making prayers and requesting your grace in this house: KAV: ¶ 만일 주의 백성 이스라엘이 주께 죄를 지어 원수 앞에서 패한 뒤 되돌아와 주의 이름을 시인하고 이 집에서 주 앞에 기도하며 간구를 드리거든
24 And if your people Israel are overcome in war, because of their sin against you; if they are turned to you again, honouring your name, making prayers and requesting your grace in this house:
24 만일 주의 백성 이스라엘이 주께 범죄하여 적국 앞에 패하게 되므로 주께로 돌아와서 주의 이름을 인정하고 이 전에서 주께 빌며 간구하거든
25 Then hear thou from the heavens, and forgive the sin of thy peopleIsrael, and bring them again unto the land which thou gavest to them and to their fathers.[x]MKJV: then hear from Heaven, and forgive the sin of Your people Israel, and bring them again into the land which You give to them and to their fathers. BBE: Then give ear from heaven, and let the sin of your people Israel have forgiveness, and take them back again to the land which you gave to them and to their fathers. KAV: 그때에 주께서는 하늘들에서부터 들으시고 주의 백성 이스라엘의 죄를 용서하시며 주께서 그들과 그들의 조상들에게 주신 땅으로 그들을 다시 데려오시옵소서.
25 Then give ear from heaven, and let the sin of your people Israel have forgiveness, and take them back again to the land which you gave to them and to their fathers.
25 주는 하늘에서 들으시고 주의 백성 이스라엘의 죄를 사하시고 그와 그 열조에게 주신 땅으로 돌아오게 하옵소서
26 When the heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; yet if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou dost afflict them;[x]MKJV: When the heavens shall be shut up, and there is no rain because they have sinned against You; if they pray toward this place, and confess Your name, and turn from their sin when You afflict them, BBE: When heaven is shut up and there is no rain, because of their sin against you: if they make prayers with their faces turned to this place, honouring your name and turning away from their sin when you send trouble on them: KAV: ¶ 그들이 주께 죄를 지어 하늘이 닫히고 비가 없어 주께서 그들을 괴롭게 하실 때에 그들이 이곳을 향하여 기도하며 주의 이름을 시인하고 자기들의 죄에서 돌이키거든
26 When heaven is shut up and there is no rain, because of their sin against you: if they make prayers with their faces turned to this place, honouring your name and turning away from their sin when you send trouble on them:
26 만일 저희가 주께 범죄함을 인하여 하늘이 닫히고 비가 없어서 주의 벌을 받을 때에 이곳을 향하여 빌며 주의 이름을 인정하고 그 죄에서 떠나거든
27 Then hear thou from heaven, and forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy peopleIsrael, when thou hast taught them the goodway, wherein they should walk; and sendrain upon thy land, which thou hast given unto thy people for an inheritance.[x]MKJV: then hear from Heaven and forgive the sin of Your servants and of Your people Israel, when You have taught them the good way in which they should walk. 28 If there is no food in the land, if there is disease, if the fruits of the earth are damaged by heat or water, locust or worm; if their towns are shut in by their attackers: whatever trouble or whatever disease there may be:
28 만일 이 땅에 기근이나 온역이 있거나 곡식이 시들거나 깜부기가 나거나 메뚜기나 황충이 나거나 적국이 와서 성읍을 에워싸거나 무슨 재앙이나 무슨 질병이 있든지 무론하고

29 Whatever prayer or request for your grace is made by any man, or by all your people Israel, whatever his trouble may be, whose hands are stretched out to this house:
29 한 사람이나 혹 주의 온 백성 이스라엘이 다 각각 자기의 마음에 재앙과 고통을 깨닫고 이 전을 향하여 손을 펴고 무슨 기도나 무슨 간구를 하거든
30 Then hear thou from heaven thy dwellingplace, and forgive, and render unto every man according unto all his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou only knowest the hearts of the children of men:)[x]MKJV: then hear from Heaven, Your dwelling-place, and forgive, and give to every man according to all his ways, whose heart You know. 31 That they may fear thee, to walk in thy ways, so long as they livein the land which thou gavest unto our fathers.[x]MKJV: Do this so that they may fear You, to walk in Your ways, as long as they live in the land which You gave to our fathers. 32 And as for the man from a strange land, who is not of your people Israel but comes from a far country because of the glory of your name and your strong hand and your outstretched arm; when he comes to make his prayer, turning to this house:
32 주의 백성 이스라엘에 속하지 않은 이방인에게 대하여도 저희가 주의 큰 이름과 능한 손과 펴신 팔을 위하여 먼 지방에서 와서 이 전을 향하여 기도하거든

34 If thy people go out to war against their enemies by the way that thou shalt send them, and they pray unto thee toward this city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name;[x]MKJV: If Your people go out to war against their enemies by the way that You shall send them, and if they pray to You toward this city which You have chosen, and the house which I have built for Your name, BBE: If your people go out to war against their attackers, by whatever way you may send them, if they make their prayers to you turning their faces to this town of yours and to this house which I have put up for your name: KAV: 만일 주의 백성이 자기들의 원수들과 싸우려고 주께서 보내실 길로 나갈 때에 그들이 주께서 택하신 이 도시와 내가 주의 이름을 위해 건축한 집을 향하여 주께 기도하거든

37 저희가 사로잡혀 간 땅에서 스스로 깨닫고 그 사로잡은 자의 땅에서 돌이켜 주께 간구하기를 우리가 범죄하여 패역을 행하며 악을 지었나이다 하며

42 O LORDGod, turn not away the face of thine anointed: remember the mercies of David thy servant.[x]MKJV: O LORD God, do not turn away the face of Your anointed.
