1 Then Hezekiah sent word to all Israel and Judah, and sent letters to Ephraim and Manasseh, requesting them to come to the house of the Lord at Jerusalem, to keep the Passover to the Lord, the God of Israel.

2 For the king had taken counsel, and his princes, and all the congregation in Jerusalem, to keep the passover in the secondmonth.[x]MKJV: And the king and his leaders, and all the congregation in Jerusalem, took counsel to keep the Passover in the second month. 3 For they could not keep it at that time, because the priests had not sanctified themselves sufficientlyㆍ, neither had the people gathered themselves together to Jerusalem.[x]MKJV: For they could not keep it at that time, because the priests had not made themselves pure enough, nor had the people gathered to Jerusalem. BBE: It was not possible to keep it at that time, because not enough priests had made themselves holy, and the people had not come together in Jerusalem. KAV: 이는 제사장들이 충분하게 자신을 거룩히 구별하지 못하였고 백성도 예루살렘에 함께 모이지 못하였으므로 그들이 그때에 그것을 지킬 수 없었기 때문이더라.
3 It was not possible to keep it at that time, because not enough priests had made themselves holy, and the people had not come together in Jerusalem.
3 이는 성결케한 제사장이 부족하고 백성도 예루살렘에 모이지 못한고로 그 정한 때에 지킬수 없었음이라
4 And the thingpleasedㆍ the king and all the congregation.[x]MKJV: And the thing pleased the king and all the congregation. BBE: And the thing was right in the eyes of the king and all the people. KAV: 왕과 온 회중이 이 일을 기뻐하였으므로

5 So it was ordered that word was to be sent out through all Israel, from Beer-sheba to Dan, that they were to come to keep the Passover to the Lord, the God of Israel, at Jerusalem: because they had not kept it in great numbers in agreement with the law.
5 드디어 명을 발하여 브엘세바에서부터 단까지 온 이스라엘에 반포하여 일제히 예루살렘으로 와서 이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 유월절을 지키라 하니 이는 기록한 규례대로 오래동안 지키지 못하였음이더라

KAV: 이처럼 파발꾼들이 왕과 그의 통치자들에게서 편지를 받고 왕의 명령에 따라 온 이스라엘과 유다에 두루 다니며 이르기를, 이스라엘 자손들아, 너희는 {주} 곧 아브라함과 이삭과 이스라엘의 [하나님]께로 다시 돌아오라. 그리하면 그분께서 너희의 남은 자들 곧 아시리아 왕들의 손에서 피한 자들에게 돌아오시리라.
6 So runners went with letters from the king and his chiefs through all Israel and Judah, by the order of the king, saying, O children of Israel, come back again to the Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, so that he may come again to that small band of you which has been kept safe out of the hands of the kings of Assyria.

7 And be not ye like your fathers, and like your brethren, which trespassed against the LORDGod of their fathers, who therefore gave them up to desolation, as ye see.[x]MKJV: And do not be like your fathers and like your brothers who sinned against the LORD God of their fathers, and He made them for a horror, as you see. 7 Do not be like your fathers and your brothers, who were sinners against the Lord, the God of their fathers, so that he made them a cause of fear, as you see.
7 너희 열조와 너희 형제 같이 하지 말라 저희가 그 열조의 하나님 여호와께 범죄한고로 여호와께서 멸망에 붙이신 것을 너희가 목도하는 바니라
8 Now be ye not stiffneckedㆍ, as your fatherswere, butyieldyourselves unto the LORD, and enter into his sanctuary, which he hath sanctified for ever: and serve the LORD your God, that the fierceness of his wrath may turn away from you.[x]MKJV: And do not be stiffnecked like your fathers. Yield yourselves to the LORD and enter into His temple which He has sanctified forever. And serve the LORD your God, so that the fierceness of His wrath may turn away from you. BBE: Now do not be hard-hearted, as your fathers were; but give yourselves to the Lord, and come into his holy place, which he has made his for ever, and be the servants of the Lord your God, so that the heat of his wrath may be turned away from you. 8 Now do not be hard-hearted, as your fathers were; but give yourselves to the Lord, and come into his holy place, which he has made his for ever, and be the servants of the Lord your God, so that the heat of his wrath may be turned away from you.
8 그런즉 너희 열조 같이 목을 곧게 하지 말고 여호와께 귀순하여 영원히 거룩케 하신 전에 들어가서 너희 하나님 여호와를 섬겨 그 진노가 너희에게서 떠나게 하라
9 For if ye turn again unto the LORD, your brethren and your childrenshall findcompassionbefore them that lead them captive, so that they shall come again into this land: for the LORD your Godisgracious and merciful, and will not turn awayhisface from you, if ye return unto him.[x]MKJV: For if you turn again to the LORD, your brothers and your sons will have mercies before those who lead them captive, so that they shall come again into this land. For the LORD your God [is] gracious and merciful, and will not turn His face away from you if you return to Him. BBE: For if you come back to the Lord, those who took away your brothers and your children will have pity on them, and let them come back to this land: for the Lord your God is full of grace and mercy, and his face will not be turned away from you if you come back to him. KAV: 너희가 만일 {주}께로 다시 돌아오면 너희 형제들과 너희 자녀들이 그들을 포로로 사로잡아 간 자들 앞에서 불쌍히 여겨져서 다시 이 땅으로 돌아오리라. {주} 너희 [하나님]은 은혜로우시고 긍휼이 많으시므로 너희가 그분께 돌아오면 자신의 얼굴을 너희에게서 돌이키지 아니하시리라, 하였더라.
9 For if you come back to the Lord, those who took away your brothers and your children will have pity on them, and let them come back to this land: for the Lord your God is full of grace and mercy, and his face will not be turned away from you if you come back to him.
9 너희가 만일 여호와께 돌아오면 너희 형제와 너희 자녀가 사로잡은 자에게서 자비를 입어 다시 이 땅으로 돌아오리라 너희 하나님 여호와는 은혜로우시고 자비하신지라 너희가 그에게로 돌아오면 그 얼굴을 너희에게서 돌이키지 아니하시리라 하였더라

10 So the runners went from town to town through all the country of Ephraim and Manasseh as far as Zebulun: but they were laughed at and made sport of.

11 Nevertheless divers of Asher and Manasseh and of Zebulunhumbled themselves, and came to Jerusalem.[x]MKJV: However, men from Asher and Manasseh and Zebulun humbled themselves and came to Jerusalem. 15 Then on the fourteenth day of the second month they put the Passover lambs to death: and the priests and the Levites were shamed, and made themselves holy and took burned offerings into the house of the Lord.
15 이월 십 사일에 유월절 양을 잡으니 제사장과 레위 사람이 부끄러워하여 성결케 하고 번제물을 가지고 여호와의 전에 이르러
16 And they stood in their place after their manner, according to the law of Moses the man of God: the priestssprinkled the blood, which they received of the hand of the Levites.[x]MKJV: And they stood in their place in their manner, according to the law of Moses the man of God. 17 For there weremany in the congregation that were not sanctified: therefore the Levites had the charge of the killing of the passovers for every one that was not clean, to sanctifythem unto the LORD.[x]MKJV: For many in the congregation [were] not sanctified. And the Levites were over the killing of the passovers for every one [who was] not clean, to sanctify them to the LORD. BBE: For there were still a number of the people there who had not made themselves holy: so the Levites had to put Passover lambs to death for those who were not clean, to make them holy to the Lord. 17 For there were still a number of the people there who had not made themselves holy: so the Levites had to put Passover lambs to death for those who were not clean, to make them holy to the Lord.

18 For a multitude of the people, evenmany of Ephraim, and Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, had notcleansed themselves, yet did they eat the passover otherwise than it was written. But Hezekiahprayed for them, saying, The goodLORDpardon every one[x]MKJV: For many of the people, many from Ephraim and Manasseh, Issachar and Zebulun, had not been cleansed, but ate the Passover otherwise than it was written. But Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, May the good LORD pardon everyone BBE: For a great number of the people from Ephraim and Manasseh, Issachar and Zebulun, had not made themselves clean, but they took the Passover meal, though not in the right way. For Hezekiah had made prayer for them, saying, May the good Lord have mercy on everyone KAV: 백성의 무리 곧 에브라임과 므낫세와 잇사갈과 스불론의 많은 사람들이 자신을 정결하게 하지 아니하고도 기록된 것과 달리 유월절 어린양을 먹었으나 히스기야가 그들을 위해 기도하며 이르되, 선하신 {주}께서 선한 자
18 For a great number of the people from Ephraim and Manasseh, Issachar and Zebulun, had not made themselves clean, but they took the Passover meal, though not in the right way. For Hezekiah had made prayer for them, saying, May the good Lord have mercy on everyone

19Thatprepareth his heart to seekGod, the LORDGod of his fathers, though he be not cleansed according to the purification of the sanctuary.[x]MKJV: [who] prepares his heart to seek God, the LORD God of his fathers, though not [cleansed] according to the purification of the sanctuary. KAV: 곧 마음을 예비하고 [하나님] 즉 {주} 자기 조상들의 [하나님]을 구하는 사람은 비록 성소의 정결례대로 정결하게 되지 아니하였을지라도 용서하시기 원하나이다, 하였더니
19 Who, with all his heart, is turned to God the Lord, the God of his fathers, even if he has not been made clean after the rules of the holy place.
19 결심하고 하나님 곧 그 열조의 하나님 여호와를 구하는 아무 사람이든지 비록 성소의 결례대로 스스로 깨끗케 못하였을찌라도 사하옵소서 하였더니
20 And the LORDhearkened to Hezekiah, and healed the people.[x]MKJV: And the LORD listened to Hezekiah and healed the people. BBE: And the Lord gave ear to Hezekiah, and made the people well. KAV: {주}께서 히스기야의 말에 귀를 기울이시고 백성을 고치셨더라.

And the Levites and the priests praised the LORD day by day with loud instruments to the LORD. BBE: So the children of Israel who were present in Jerusalem kept the feast of unleavened bread for seven days with great joy: and the Levites and the priests gave praise to the Lord day by day, making melody to the Lord with loud instruments. KAV: 예루살렘에 있던 이스라엘 자손이 크게 즐거워하며 이레 동안 무교절을 지켰고 레위 사람들과 제사장들은 날마다 {주}를 찬양하며 큰 소리 나는 악기로 {주}께 노래하였고
21 So the children of Israel who were present in Jerusalem kept the feast of unleavened bread for seven days with great joy: and the Levites and the priests gave praise to the Lord day by day, making melody to the Lord with loud instruments.
21 예루살렘에 모인 이스라엘 자손이 크게 즐거워하며 칠일 동안 무교절을 지켰고 레위 사람들과 제사장들은 날마다 여호와를 칭송하며 큰 소리나는 악기를 울려 여호와를 찬양하였으며
22 And Hezekiahspakecomfortably unto all the Levites that taught the goodknowledge of the LORD: and they did eat throughout the feastsevendays, offeringpeaceofferings, and making confession to the LORDGod of their fathers.[x]MKJV: And Hezekiah spoke comfortably to all the Levites who taught the good knowledge of the LORD. And they ate the appointed things seven days, offering peace offerings and making confession to the LORD God of their fathers. BBE: And Hezekiah said kind words to the Levites who were expert in the ordering of the worship of the Lord: so they kept the feast for seven days, offering peace-offerings and praising the Lord, the God of their fathers. 22 And Hezekiah said kind words to the Levites who were expert in the ordering of the worship of the Lord: so they kept the feast for seven days, offering peace-offerings and praising the Lord, the God of their fathers.
22 히스기야는 여호와를 섬기는 일에 통달한 모든 레위 사람에게 위로하였더라 이와 같이 절기 칠일 동안에 무리가 먹으며 화목제를 드리고 그 열조의 하나님 여호와께 감사하였더라
23 And the whole assembly took counsel to keepothersevendays: and they keptothersevendays with gladness.[x]MKJV: And the whole gathering agreed to keep another seven days. And they kept [another] seven days with gladness. BBE: And by the desire of all the people, the feast went on for another seven days, and they kept the seven days with joy. 24 For Hezekiah, king of Judah, gave to the people for offerings, a thousand oxen and seven thousand sheep; and the rulers gave a thousand oxen and ten thousand sheep; and a great number of priests made themselves holy.
24 유다 왕 히스기야가 수송아지 일천과 양 칠천을 회중에게 주었고 방백들은 수송아지 일천과 양 일만을 회중에게 주었으며 성결케 한 제사장도 많았는지라
25 And all the congregation of Judah, with the priests and the Levites, and all the congregation that came out of Israel, and the strangers that came out of the land of Israel, and that dwelt in Judah, rejoiced.[x]MKJV: And all the congregation of Judah, with the priests and the Levites, and all the congregation that came out of Israel, and the strangers that came out of the land of Israel, and who lived in Judah, rejoiced. KAV: 유다의 온 회중과 제사장들과 레위 사람들과 이스라엘에서 나온 온 회중과 이스라엘 땅에서 나온 타국인들과 유다에 거한 타국인들이 기뻐하였으므로
25 And all the people of Judah, with the priests and the Levites, and those who had come from Israel, and men from other lands who had come from Israel or who were living in Judah, were glad with great joy.
25 유다 온 회중과 제사장들과 레위 사람들과 이스라엘에서 온 온 회중과 이스라엘 땅에서 나온 나그네와 유다에 거한 나그네가 다 즐거워 하였으므로
26 So there was greatjoy in Jerusalem: for since the time of Solomon the son of Davidking of Israelthere was not the like in Jerusalem.[x]MKJV: And there was great joy in Jerusalem. For from the days of Solomon the son of David the king of Israel [there was] nothing like this in Jerusalem. BBE: So there was great joy in Jerusalem: for nothing like this had been seen in Jerusalem from the time of Solomon, the son of David, king of Israel. KAV: 예루살렘에 큰 기쁨이 있었으니 이는 이스라엘 왕 다윗의 아들 솔로몬의 때로부터 이 같은 것이 예루살렘에 없었기 때문이더라.
26 So there was great joy in Jerusalem: for nothing like this had been seen in Jerusalem from the time of Solomon, the son of David, king of Israel.
26 예루살렘에 큰 희락이 있었으니 이스라엘 왕 다윗의 아들 솔로몬 때로부터 이러한 희락이 예루살렘에 없었더라
27 Then the priests the Levitesarose and blessed the people: and their voice was heard, and their prayercameup to his holy dwelling place, even unto heaven.[x]MKJV: And the priests, the Levites, arose and blessed the people. And their voice was heard, and their prayer came to His holy dwelling-place, to Heaven. BBE: Then the priests and the Levites gave the people a blessing: and the voice of their prayer went up to the holy place of God in heaven. KAV: ¶ 그때에 레위 사람 제사장들이 일어나서 백성을 축복하였더니 그분께서 그들의 목소리를 들으셨으며 또 그들의 기도가 올라가 그분의 거룩한 처소 곧 하늘에 이르렀더라.
27 Then the priests and the Levites gave the people a blessing: and the voice of their prayer went up to the holy place of God in heaven.
27 그 때에 제사장들과 레위 사람들이 일어나서 백성을 위하여 축복하였으니 그 소리가 들으신바 되고 그 기도가 여호와의 거룩한 처소 하늘에 상달하였더라
