5 And said to them, Give ear to me, O Levites: now make yourselves holy, and make holy the house of the Lord, the God of your fathers, and take away everything unclean from the holy place.

6 For our fathers have trespassed, and donethat which wasevil in the eyes of the LORD our God, and have forsaken him, and have turned away their faces from the habitation of the LORD, and turnedtheirbacks.[x]MKJV: For our fathers have sinned and did the evil in the eyes of the LORD our God, and have forsaken Him, and have turned away their faces from the house of the LORD, and have turned [their] backs. BBE: For our fathers have done evil, sinning in the eyes of the Lord our God, and have given him up, turning away their faces from the house of the Lord, and turning their backs on him. 6 For our fathers have done evil, sinning in the eyes of the Lord our God, and have given him up, turning away their faces from the house of the Lord, and turning their backs on him.

7 Also they have shut up the doors of the porch, and put out the lamps, and have not burnedincense nor offered burnt offerings in the holyplace unto the God of Israel.[x]MKJV: Also they have shut up the doors of the porch, and put out the lamps, and have not burned incense nor offered burnt offerings in the sanctuary to the God of Israel. BBE: The doors of his house have been shut and the lights put out; no perfumes have been burned or offerings made to the God of Israel in his holy place. 7 The doors of his house have been shut and the lights put out; no perfumes have been burned or offerings made to the God of Israel in his holy place.
7 또 낭실 문을 닫으며 등불을 끄고 성소에서 분향하지 아니하며 이스라엘 하나님께 번제를 드리지 아니한고로
8 Wherefore the wrath of the LORD was upon Judah and Jerusalem, and he hath delivered them to troubleㆍ, to astonishment, and to hissing, as ye see with your eyes.[x]MKJV: Therefore the wrath of the LORD was on Judah and Jerusalem, and He has delivered them to trouble, to ruin, and to hissing as you see with your eyes. BBE: And so the wrath of the Lord has come on Judah and Jerusalem, and he has given them up to be a cause of fear and wonder and shame, as your eyes have seen. 8 And so the wrath of the Lord has come on Judah and Jerusalem, and he has given them up to be a cause of fear and wonder and shame, as your eyes have seen.

10 Now it is in mine heart to make a covenant with the LORDGod of Israel, that his fiercewrath may turn away from us.[x]MKJV: And [it is] in my heart to make a covenant with the LORD God of Israel, that His fierce wrath may turn away from us. BBE: Now it is my purpose to make an agreement with the Lord, the God of Israel, so that the heat of his wrath may be turned away from us. 10 Now it is my purpose to make an agreement with the Lord, the God of Israel, so that the heat of his wrath may be turned away from us.

11 My sons, be not now negligent: for the LORD hath chosen you to standbefore him, to serve him, and that ye should minister unto him, and burn incense.[x]MKJV: My sons, do not be negligent now. For the LORD has chosen you to stand before Him, to serve Him, and that you should minister to Him and burn incense. BBE: My sons, take care now: for you have been marked out by the Lord to come before him and to be his servants, burning offerings to him. KAV: 내 아들들아, 이제 게을리 하지 말라. {주}께서 이미 너희를 택하사 자신 앞에 서서 봉사하게 하시고 또 너희가 그분을 섬기며 분향하게 하셨느니라, 하니라.
11 My sons, take care now: for you have been marked out by the Lord to come before him and to be his servants, burning offerings to him.

15 And they gathered their brethren, and sanctified themselves, and came, according to the commandment of the king, by the words of the LORD, to cleanse the house of the LORD.[x]MKJV: And they gathered their brothers and sanctified themselves, and came, according to the command of the king, by the words of the LORD, to clean the house of the LORD. BBE: And they got their brothers together and made themselves holy, and went in, as the king had said by the word of the Lord, to make the house of the Lord clean. KAV: 그들이 자기들의 형제들을 모으고 자신을 거룩히 구별한 뒤에 들어가서 왕의 명령에 따라 {주}의 말씀들에 의거하여 {주}의 집을 정결하게 하였더라.
15 And they got their brothers together and made themselves holy, and went in, as the king had said by the word of the Lord, to make the house of the Lord clean.

16 And the priestswent into the inner part of the house of the LORD, to cleanseit, and brought out all the uncleanness that they found in the temple of the LORD into the court of the house of the LORD. And the Levitestookit, to carry itoutabroad into the brookKidron.[x]MKJV: And the priests went into the inner part of the house of the LORD to clean [it]. And they brought out all the uncleanness that they found in the temple of the LORD into the court of the house of the LORD. And the Levites took [it] out to the torrent Kidron. BBE: And the priests went into the inner part of the house of the Lord to make it clean, and everything unclean which was to be seen in the Temple of the Lord they took out into the outer square of the Lord's house, and the Levites got it together and took it away to the stream Kidron. 16 And the priests went into the inner part of the house of the Lord to make it clean, and everything unclean which was to be seen in the Temple of the Lord they took out into the outer square of the Lord's house, and the Levites got it together and took it away to the stream Kidron.
16 제사장들도 여호와의 전 안에 들어가서 깨끗케 하여 여호와의 전에 있는 모든 더러운 것을 끌어 내어 여호와의 전 뜰에 이르매 레위 사람들이 취하여 바깥 기드론 시내로 가져갔더라
17 Now they began on the firstday of the firstmonth to sanctify, and on the eighthday of the monthcame they to the porch of the LORD: so they sanctified the house of the LORD in eightdays; and in the sixteenthday of the firstmonth they made an end.[x]MKJV: And they began to sanctify on the first of the first month. And on the eighth day of the month they came to the porch of the LORD. And they made the house of the LORD pure in eight days, and in the sixteenth day of the first month they made an end. BBE: On the first day of the first month the work of making the house holy was started, and on the eighth day they came to the covered way of the Lord; in eight days they made the Lord's house holy, and on the sixteenth day of the first month the work was done. 17 On the first day of the first month the work of making the house holy was started, and on the eighth day they came to the covered way of the Lord; in eight days they made the Lord's house holy, and on the sixteenth day of the first month the work was done.
17 정월 초하루에 성결케 하기를 시작하여 그달 초팔일에 여호와의 낭실에 이르고 또 팔일 동안 여호와의 전을 성결케 하여 정월 십 륙일에 이르러 마치고
18 Then they wentin to Hezekiah the king, and said, We have cleansed all the house of the LORD, and the altar of burnt offering, with all the vessels thereof, and the showbreadtable, with all the vessels thereof.[x]MKJV: And they went in to Hezekiah the king and said, We have cleaned all the house of the LORD, and the altar of burnt offering, with all its vessels, and the showbread table, and all its vessels. BBE: Then they went in to King Hezekiah and said, We have made all the house of the Lord clean, as well as the altar of burned offerings with all its vessels, and the table for the holy bread, with all its vessels. 18 Then they went in to King Hezekiah and said, We have made all the house of the Lord clean, as well as the altar of burned offerings with all its vessels, and the table for the holy bread, with all its vessels.
18 안으로 들어가서 히스기야왕을 보고 가로되 우리가 여호와의 온 전과 번제단과 그 모든 기구와 떡을 진설하는 상과 그 모든 기구를 깨끗케 하였고
19 Moreover all the vessels, which kingAhaz in his reign did cast away in his transgression, have we prepared and sanctified, and, behold, they arebefore the altar of the LORD.[x]MKJV: And we have prepared and sanctified all the vessels which king Ahaz in his reign cast away in his sin. And behold, they [are] before the altar of the LORD. BBE: And all the vessels which were turned out by King Ahaz in his sin while he was king, we have put in order and made holy, and now they are in their places before the altar of the Lord. KAV: 또 아하스 왕이 통치할 때에 죄를 지으며 내버린 모든 기구도 우리가 예비하고 거룩히 구별하였나이다. 보소서, 그것들이 {주}의 제단 앞에 있나이다, 하니라.
19 And all the vessels which were turned out by King Ahaz in his sin while he was king, we have put in order and made holy, and now they are in their places before the altar of the Lord.

And he commanded the priests the sons of Aaron to offerthem on the altar of the LORD.[x]MKJV: And they brought seven bulls and seven rams and seven lambs and seven he-goats, for a sin offering for the kingdom, and for the sanctuary, and for Judah. And he commanded the priests, the sons of Aaron, to offer [them] on the altar of the LORD. BBE: And they took with them seven oxen and seven male sheep and seven lambs and seven he-goats as a sin-offering for the kingdom and for the holy house and for Judah. And he gave orders to the sons of Aaron, the priests, that these were to be offered on the altar of the Lord. 21 And they took with them seven oxen and seven male sheep and seven lambs and seven he-goats as a sin-offering for the kingdom and for the holy house and for Judah. And he gave orders to the sons of Aaron, the priests, that these were to be offered on the altar of the Lord.
21 수송아지 일곱과 수양 일곱과 어린 양 일곱과 수염소 일곱을 끌어다가 나라와 성소와 유다를 위하여 속죄 제물을 삼고 아론의 자손 제사장들을 명하여 여호와의 단에 드리게 하니
22 So they killed the bullocks, and the priestsreceived the blood, and sprinkledit on the altar: likewise, when they had killed the rams, they sprinkled the blood upon the altar: they killed also the lambs, and they sprinkled the blood upon the altar.[x]MKJV: And they killed the bulls, and the priests received the blood and sprinkled [it] on the altar. And they killed the rams, and sprinkled the blood on the altar. They also killed the lambs, and they sprinkled the blood on the altar. 22 So they put the oxen to death and their blood was given to the priests to be drained out against the altar; then they put the male sheep to death, draining out their blood against the altar, and they put the lambs to death, draining out their blood against the altar.
22 이에 수소를 잡으매 제사장이 그 피를 받아 단에 뿌리고 또 수양을 잡으매 그 피를 단에 뿌리고 또 어린 양을 잡으매 그 피를 단에 뿌리고
23 And they brought forth the he goatsfor the sin offeringbefore the king and the congregation; and they laid their hands upon them:[x]MKJV: And they brought out the he-goats [for] the sin offering before the king and the congregation. And they laid their hands on them. BBE: Then they took the he-goats for the sin-offering, placing them before the king and the meeting of the people, and they put their hands on them: KAV: 그들이 죄 헌물로 드릴 숫염소들을 왕과 회중 앞으로 끌어오매 그들이 그것들에게 안수하고
23 Then they took the he-goats for the sin-offering, placing them before the king and the meeting of the people, and they put their hands on them:

24 And the priestskilled them, and they made reconciliation with their blood upon the altar, to make an atonement for all Israel: for the kingcommandedthat the burnt offering and the sin offeringshould be made for all Israel.[x]MKJV: And the priest killed them, and they made atonement with their blood on the altar, to make atonement for all Israel. For the king commanded the burnt offering and the sin offering [to be made] for all Israel. 24 And the priests put them to death, and made a sin-offering with their blood on the altar, to take away the sin of all Israel: for the king gave orders that the burned offering and the sin-offering were for all Israel.

25 And he set the Levites in the house of the LORD with cymbals, with psalteries, and with harps, according to the commandment of David, and of Gad the king'sseer, and Nathan the prophet: for so was the commandmentof the LORDby his prophets.[x]MKJV: And he set the Levites in the house of the LORD with cymbals, with harps, and with lyres, according to the command of David, and of Gad the king's seer and Nathan the prophet. For the commandment was] by the hand of the LORD by His prophets. BBE: Then he put the Levites in their places in the house of the Lord, with brass and corded instruments of music as ordered by David and Gad, the king's seer, and Nathan the prophet: for the order was the Lord's, given by his prophets. KAV: 왕이 레위 사람들을 {주}의 집에 두어 다윗과 왕의 선견자 갓과 대언자 나단의 명령에 따라 심벌즈와 비파와 하프를 잡게 하였으니 {주}께서 자신의 대언자들을 통하여 이같이 명령하셨더라.
25 Then he put the Levites in their places in the house of the Lord, with brass and corded instruments of music as ordered by David and Gad, the king's seer, and Nathan the prophet: for the order was the Lord's, given by his prophets.
25 왕이 레위 사람을 여호와의 전에 두어서 다윗과 왕의 선견자 갓과 선지자 나단의 명한대로 제금과 비파와 수금을 잡게 하니 이는 여호와께서 그 선지자들로 이렇게 명하셨음이라

KAV: 히스기야가 명령하여 번제 헌물을 제단 위에 드리게 하니라. 번제 헌물 드리기를 시작할 때에 나팔을 불며 이스라엘 왕 다윗이 정한 악기를 울리니 {주}의 노래도 시작되니라.
27 And Hezekiah gave the word for the burned offering to be offered on the altar. And when the burned offering was started, then the song of the Lord was started, with the blowing of horns and with all the instruments of David, king of Israel.
27 히스기야가 명하여 번제를 단에 드릴쌔 번제 드리기를 시작하는 동시에 여호와의 시로 노래하고 나팔을 불며 이스라엘 왕 다윗의 악기를 울리고
28 And all the congregationworshipped, and the singerssang, and the trumpeterssounded:and all this continued until the burnt offering was finished.[x]MKJV: And all the congregation worshiped, and the singers sang, and the trumpeters sounded. All this [went on] until the burnt offering was finished. BBE: And all the people gave worship, to the sound of songs and the blowing of horns; and this went on till the burned offering was ended. KAV: 온 회중이 경배하며 노래하는 자들은 노래하고 나팔 부는 자들은 나팔을 불어 번제 헌물 드리는 일을 마칠 때까지 이 모든 일을 계속해서 하니라.
28 And all the people gave worship, to the sound of songs and the blowing of horns; and this went on till the burned offering was ended.
28 온 회중이 경배하며 노래하는 자들은 노래하고 나팔 부는 자들은 나팔을 불어 번제를 마치기까지 이르니라
29 And when they had made an end of offering, the king and all that were present with him bowed themselves, and worshipped.[x]MKJV: And when they had made an end of offering, the king and all who were present with him bowed themselves and worshiped. 30 Moreover Hezekiah the king and the princescommanded the Levites to sing praise unto the LORD with the words of David, and of Asaph the seer. 30 Then King Hezekiah and the captains gave orders to the Levites to give praise to God in the words of David and Asaph the seer. And they made songs of praise with joy, and with bent heads gave worship.
30 히스기야왕이 귀인들로 더불어 레위 사람을 명하여 다윗과 선견자 아삽의 시로 여호와를 찬송하게 하매 저희가 즐거움으로 찬송하고 몸을 굽혀 경배하니라
31 Then Hezekiahanswered and said, Now ye have consecratedㆍ yourselves unto the LORD, come near and bringsacrifices and thank offerings into the house of the LORD. And the congregation brought insacrifices and thank offerings; and as many as were of a freeheart burnt offerings.[x]MKJV: And Hezekiah answered and said, And you have consecrated yourselves to the LORD. KAV: 그때에 히스기야가 응답하여 이르되, 너희가 이제 너희 자신을 거룩히 구분하여 {주}께 드렸으니 가까이 나아와 희생물과 감사 헌물을 {주}의 집으로 가져오라, 하매 회중이 희생물과 감사 헌물을 가져오되 마음에 원하는 자들이 다 번제 헌물을 가져오니라.
31 Then Hezekiah made answer and said, Now that you have given yourselves to the Lord, come near and take offerings and praise-offerings into the house of the Lord. So all the people took in offerings and praise-offerings: and those whose hearts were moved, took in burned offerings.
31 이에 히스기야가 일러 가로되 너희가 이제 몸을 깨끗케 하여 여호와께 드렸으니 마땅히 나아와 제물과 감사제물을 여호와의 전으로 가져오라 회중이 드디어 제물과 감사제물을 가져오되 무릇 마음에 원하는 자는 또한 번제물을 가져오니
32 And the number of the burnt offerings, which the congregationbrought, was threescore and tenbullocks, an hundredrams, and two hundredlambs: all these were for a burnt offering to the LORD.[x]MKJV: And the number of the burnt offerings which the congregation brought was seventy oxen, a hundred rams, two hundred lambs. All these [were] for a burnt offering to the LORD. BBE: The number of burned offerings which the people took in was seventy oxen, a hundred male sheep, and two hundred lambs: all these were for burned offerings to the Lord. KAV: 회중이 가져온 번제 헌물의 수는 수소가 칠십 마리요, 숫양이 백 마리요, 어린양이 이백 마리였는데 이것들은 다 {주}께 번제 헌물로 드리는 것이었더라.
32 The number of burned offerings which the people took in was seventy oxen, a hundred male sheep, and two hundred lambs: all these were for burned offerings to the Lord.
32 회중의 가져온 번제물의 수효는 수소가 칠십이요 수양이 일백이요 어린양이 이백이니 이는 다 여호와께 번제물로 드리는 것이며
33 And the consecrated thingsweresixhundredoxen and threethousandsheep.[x]MKJV: And the things consecrated [were] six hundred oxen and three thousand sheep. BBE: And the holy things were six hundred oxen and three thousand sheep. KAV: 또 거룩히 구분하여 드린 것들은 소가 육백 마리요, 양이 삼천 마리더라.
33 And the holy things were six hundred oxen and three thousand sheep.

34 But the priests were too few, so that they could not flay all the burnt offerings: wherefore their brethren the Levites did help them, till the work was ended, and until the otherpriests had sanctified themselves: for the Leviteswere more upright in heart to sanctify themselves than the priests.[x]MKJV: But the priests were too few, so that they could not skin all the burnt offerings. And their brothers the Levites helped them until the work was ended, and until the priests had sanctified themselves. For the Levites [were] more upright of heart to make themselves pure than the priests. BBE: There were not enough priests for the work of cutting up all the burned offerings; so their brothers the Levites gave them help till the work was done and the priests had made themselves holy: for the Levites were more upright in heart to make themselves holy than the priests. KAV: 그러나 제사장들의 수가 너무 적어 그들이 그 모든 번제 헌물의 가죽을 능히 벗기지 못하므로 그들의 형제 레위 사람들이 그 일을 끝마치기까지 또 다른 제사장들이 그들 자신을 거룩히 구별하기까지 그들을 도왔으니 레위 사람들이 자신을 거룩히 구별하기 위해 제사장들보다 더 마음이 올발랐더라.
34 There were not enough priests for the work of cutting up all the burned offerings; so their brothers the Levites gave them help till the work was done and the priests had made themselves holy: for the Levites were more upright in heart to make themselves holy than the priests.
34 그런데 제사장이 부족하여 그 모든 번제 짐승의 가죽을 능히 벗기지 못하는고로 그 형제 레위 사람이 그 일을 마치기까지 돕고 다른 제사장의 성결케 하기까지 기다렸으니 이는 레위 사람의 성결케 함이 제사장들보다 성심이 있었음이라
35 And also the burnt offeringswere in abundance, with the fat of the peace offerings, and the drink offerings for every burnt offering. So the service of the house of the LORD was set in order.[x]MKJV: And also the burnt offerings [were] in abundance, with the fat of the peace offerings and the drink offerings for [every] burnt offering. And the service of the house of the LORD was set in order. BBE: And there was a great amount of burned offerings, with the fat of the peace-offerings and the drink offerings for every burned offering. So the work of the Lord's house was put in order. KAV: 또한 번제 헌물과 화평 헌물의 기름과 모든 번제 헌물에 쓸 음료 헌물이 많았더라. 이와 같이 {주}의 집에서 섬기는 일이 질서 있게 정해지니라.
35 And there was a great amount of burned offerings, with the fat of the peace-offerings and the drink offerings for every burned offering. So the work of the Lord's house was put in order.
35 번제와 화목제의 기름과 각 번제에 속한 전제가 많더라 이와 같이 여호와의 전에서 섬기는 일이 순서대로 갖추어지니라
36 And Hezekiahrejoiced, and all the people, that God had prepared the people: for the thing was donesuddenly.[x]MKJV: And Hezekiah rejoiced, and all the people, that God had prepared the people. For the thing happened suddenly. BBE: And Hezekiah and all the people were full of joy, because God had made the people ready: for the thing was done suddenly. KAV: 히스기야와 온 백성은 [하나님]께서 미리 백성을 예비하신 것을 기뻐하였으니 이는 그 일이 갑자기 이루어졌기 때문이더라.

36 이 일이 갑자기 되었을찌라도 하나님이 백성을 위하여 예비하셨음을 인하여 히스기야가 백성으로 더불어 기뻐하였더라
