3 Uzziah was sixteen years old when he became king, and he was ruling in Jerusalem for fifty-two years; his mother's name was Jechiliah of Jerusalem.

8 The Ammonites gave offerings to Uzziah: and news of him went out as far as the limit of Egypt; for he became very great in power.

10 또 거친 땅에 망대를 세우고 물웅덩이를 많이 팠으니 평야와 평지에 육축을 많이 기름이며 또 여러 산과 좋은 밭에 농부와 포도원을 다스리는 자를 두었으니 농사를 좋아함이더라
11 Moreover Uzziah had an host of fightingmen, that went out to war by bands, according to the number of their account by the hand of Jeiel the scribe and Maaseiah the ruler, under the hand of Hananiah, one of the king'scaptains.[x]MKJV: And, Uzziah had an army of making war, going out to war by troops, according to the number of their oversight by the hand of Jeiel the scribe and Maaseiah the ruler, under the hand of Hananiah, [one] of the king's leaders. 16 But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to hisdestruction: for he transgressed against the LORD his God, and went into the temple of the LORD to burn incense upon the altar of incense.[x]MKJV: But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to ruin. 18 And they withstoodUzziah the king, and said unto him, It appertaineth not unto thee, Uzziah, to burn incense unto the LORD, but to the priests the sons of Aaron, that are consecrated to burn incense: go out of the sanctuary; for thou hast trespassed; neither shall it be for thine honour from the LORDGod.[x]MKJV: And they withstood Uzziah the king and said to him, [It is] not for you, Uzziah, to burn incense to the Lord, but to the priests, the sons of Aaron who are consecrated to burn incense. 18 And they made protests to Uzziah the king, and said to him, The burning of perfumes, Uzziah, is not your business but that of the priests, the sons of Aaron, who have been made holy for this work: go out of the holy place, for you have done wrong, and it will not be to your honour before God.

19 Then Uzziah was wroth, and had a censer in his hand to burn incense: and while he was wroth with the priests, the leprosy even rose up in his foreheadbefore the priests in the house of the LORD, from beside the incensealtar.[x]MKJV: And Uzziah was angry. And while he was angry with the priests, the leprosy even rose up in his forehead before the priests in the house of the LORD, from beside the incense altar. 19 Then Uzziah was angry; and he had in his hand a vessel for burning perfume; and while his wrath was bitter against the priests, the mark of the leper's disease came out on his brow, before the eyes of the priests in the house of the Lord by the altar of perfumes.
19 웃시야가 손으로 향로를 잡고 분향하려 하다가 노를 발하니 저가 제사장에게 노할 때에 여호와의 전 안 향단 곁 제사장 앞에서 그 이마에 문둥병이 발한지라
20 And Azariah the chiefpriest, and all the priests, looked upon him, and, behold, he wasleprous in his forehead, and they thrust him out from thence; yea, himself hasted also to go out, because the LORD had smitten him.[x]MKJV: And Azariah the chief priest, and all the priests, looked on him. And, behold, he [was] leprous in his forehead! And they thrust him out from there. Yes, he himself hurried to go out also, because the LORD had stricken him. 21 And Uzziah the king was a leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a severalㆍhouse, being a leper; for he was cut off from the house of the LORD: and Jotham his sonwas over the king'shouse, judging the people of the land.[x]MKJV: And Uzziah the king was a leper until the day of his death, and lived in a separate house a leper. 21 So King Uzziah was a leper till the day of his death, living separately in his private house; for he was cut off from the house of God; and Jotham his son was ruling over his house, judging the people of the land.

23 So Uzziah went to rest with his fathers; and they put his body into the earth in the field used for the resting-place of the kings, for they said, He is a leper: and Jotham his son became king in his place.
