1 And the inhabitants of JerusalemmadeAhaziah his youngestsonking in his stead: for the band of men that came with the Arabians to the camp had slain all the eldest. So Ahaziah the son of Jehoramking of Judahreigned.[x]MKJV: And the people of Jerusalem made Ahaziah his youngest son king in his place. For the band of men that came with the Arabians to the camp had killed all the older ones. And Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah reigned. BBE: And the people of Jerusalem made Ahaziah, his youngest son, king in his place, for the band of men who came with the Arabians to the army had put all the older sons to death. So Ahaziah, the son of Jehoram, became king. KAV: 예루살렘 거주민들이 여호람을 대신하여 그의 막내아들 아하시야를 왕으로 삼았더라. 전에 아라비아 사람들과 함께 진영에 이른 사람들의 무리가 그보다 나이가 많은 자들을 다 죽였더라. 이처럼 유다 왕 여호람의 아들 아하시야가 통치하니라.
1 And the people of Jerusalem made Ahaziah, his youngest son, king in his place, for the band of men who came with the Arabians to the army had put all the older sons to death. So Ahaziah, the son of Jehoram, became king.
1 예루살렘 거민이 여호람의 말째 아들 아하시야로 위를 이어 왕을 삼았으니 이는 전에 아라비아 사람과 함께 와서 영을 치던 부대가 그의 모든 형을 죽였음이라 그러므로 유다 왕 여호람의 아들 아하시야가 왕이 되었더라
2Forty and twoyearsoldwasAhaziah when he began to reign, and he reignedoneyear in Jerusalem. His mother'sname also wasAthaliah the daughter of Omri.[x]MKJV: Ahaziah's [dynasty was] forty-two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother's name [was] Athaliah the daughter of Omri. BBE: Ahaziah was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he was ruling in Jerusalem for one year. His mother's name was Athaliah, the daughter of Omri. KAV: 아하시야가 통치하기 시작할 때에 나이가 사십이 세더라. 그가 예루살렘에서 일 년 동안 통치하니라. 그의 어머니의 이름 역시 오므리의 손녀 아달랴더라.
2 Ahaziah was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he was ruling in Jerusalem for one year. His mother's name was Athaliah, the daughter of Omri.
2 아하시야가 왕이 될 때에 나이 사십이세라 예루살렘에서 일년을 치리하니라 그 모친의 이름은 아달랴라 오므리의 손녀더라
3 He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab: for his mother was his counsellor to do wickedly.[x]MKJV: He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab. For his mother was his counselor to do wickedly. BBE: He went in the ways of the family of Ahab, for his mother was his teacher in evil-doing. KAV: 아하시야 역시 아합의 집의 길들로 걸었으니 이는 그의 어머니가 그의 조언자가 되어 악하게 행하도록 하였기 때문이라.

4 Wherefore he didevil in the sight of the LORD like the house of Ahab: for they were his counsellorsafter the death of his father to his destruction.[x]MKJV: And he did evil in the sight of the LORD like the house of Ahab. For they were his counselors after the death of his father, to his ruin. BBE: And he did evil in the eyes of the Lord, as the family of Ahab did; for after the death of his father they were his guides to his destruction. KAV: 그러므로 그가 {주}의 눈앞에서 아합의 집과 같이 악을 행하였더라. 그의 아버지가 죽은 뒤에 아합의 집 사람들이 그의 조언자가 되어 그를 파멸로 이끌었더라.
4 And he did evil in the eyes of the Lord, as the family of Ahab did; for after the death of his father they were his guides to his destruction.
4 그 부친이 죽은 후에 저가 패망케 하는 아합의 집 교도를 좇아 여호와 보시기에 아합의 집 같이 악을 행하였더라
5 He walked also after their counsel, and went with Jehoram the son of Ahabking of Israel to war against Hazaelking of Syria at Ramothgileadㆍ: and the SyrianssmoteJoram.[x]MKJV: He also walked after their advice and went with Jehoram the son of Ahab king of Israel to war against Hazael king of Syria at Ramoth-gilead. And the Syrians struck Jehoram. BBE: Acting on their suggestion, he went with Jehoram, son of Ahab, king of Israel, to make war on Hazael, king of Aram, at Ramoth-gilead: and Joram was wounded by the bowmen. KAV: ¶ 아하시야 또한 그들의 조언을 따라 걸으며 이스라엘 왕 아합의 아들 여호람과 함께 라못길르앗으로 가서 시리아 왕 하사엘과 싸웠는데 시리아 사람들이 요람을 치므로
5 Acting on their suggestion, he went with Jehoram, son of Ahab, king of Israel, to make war on Hazael, king of Aram, at Ramoth-gilead: and Joram was wounded by the bowmen.
5 아하시야가 아합의 집 교도를 좇고 이스라엘 왕 아합의 아들 요람과 함께 길르앗 라못으로 가서 아람 왕 하사엘로 더불어 싸우더니 아람 사람들이 요람을 상하게 한지라
6 And he returned to be healed in Jezreel because of the wounds which were given him at Ramah, when he fought with Hazaelking of Syria. And Azariah the son of Jehoramking of Judah went down to seeJehoram the son of Ahab at Jezreel, because he was sick.[x]MKJV: And he returned to be healed in Jezreel, because of the wounds which were given him at Ramah, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria. KAV: 요람이 시리아 왕 하사엘과 싸우다가 라마에서 입은 상처로 인해 치료를 받으려고 예스르엘로 돌아왔더라. 아합의 아들 여호람이 병들었으므로 유다 왕 여호람의 아들 아사랴가 그를 보려고 예스르엘로 내려갔더라.
6 And he went back to Jezreel to get well from the wounds which they had given him at Ramah when he was fighting against Hazael, king of Aram. And Ahaziah, the son of Jehoram, king of Judah, went down to Jezreel to see Jehoram, the son of Ahab, because he was ill.
6 요람이 아람 왕 하사엘과 싸울 때에 라마에서 맞아 상한 것을 치료하려 하여 이스르엘로 돌아왔더라 아합의 아들 요람이 병이 있으므로 유다 왕 여호람의 아들 아사랴가 이스르엘에 내려가서 방문하였더라
7 And the destruction of Ahaziah was of God by coming to Joram: for when he was come, he went out with Jehoram against Jehu the son of Nimshi, whom the LORD had anointed to cut off the house of Ahab.[x]MKJV: And by coming to Jehoram, the destruction of Ahaziah was of God. He went out with Jehoram against Jehu the son of Nimshi, whom the LORD had anointed to cut off the house of Ahab. BBE: Now by the purpose of God, Ahaziah's journey to see Jehoram was the cause of his downfall: for when he came there, he went out with Jehoram against Jehu, the son of Nimshi, who had been marked out by the Lord for the destruction of the family of Ahab. KAV: 아하시야가 요람에게 감으로써 멸망을 받았는데 그것은 [하나님]에게서 난 것이더라. 아하시야가 갈 때에 {주}께서 아합의 집을 멸하기 위해 기름을 부으신 님시의 아들 예후를 치려고 여호람과 함께 나갔더라.
7 Now by the purpose of God, Ahaziah's journey to see Jehoram was the cause of his downfall: for when he came there, he went out with Jehoram against Jehu, the son of Nimshi, who had been marked out by the Lord for the destruction of the family of Ahab.
7 아하시야가 요람에게 가므로 해를 받았으니 이는 하나님께로 말미암은 것이라 아하시야가 갔다가 요람과 함께 나가서 임시의 아들 예후를 맞았으니 그는 여호와께서 기름을 부으시고 아합의 집을 멸하게 하신 자더라
8 And it came to pass, that, when Jehu was executing judgment upon the house of Ahab, and found the princes of Judah, and the sons of the brethren of Ahaziah, that ministered to Ahaziah, he slew them.[x]MKJV: And it happened when Jehu was executing judgment on the house of Ahab, and found the rulers of Judah and the sons of the brothers of Ahaziah, the servants of Ahaziah, he killed them. BBE: Now when Jehu was effecting the punishment of the family of Ahab, he came to the princes of Judah and the sons of Ahaziah's brothers, the servants of Ahaziah, and put them to death. KAV: 예후가 아합의 집에 심판을 집행할 때에 유다의 통치자들과 아하시야의 형제의 아들들 곧 아하시야를 섬기던 자들을 만나서 그들을 죽였더라.
8 Now when Jehu was effecting the punishment of the family of Ahab, he came to the princes of Judah and the sons of Ahaziah's brothers, the servants of Ahaziah, and put them to death.
8 예후가 아합의 집을 징벌할 때에 유다 방백들과 아하시야의 형제의 아들들 곧 아하시야를 섬기는 자들을 만나서 죽였고
9 And he soughtAhaziah: and they caught him, (for he was hid in Samaria,) and brought him to Jehu: and when they had slain him, they buried him: Because, said they, he is the son of Jehoshaphat, who sought the LORD with all his heart. So the house of Ahaziah had no power to keep still the kingdom.[x]MKJV: And he looked for Ahaziah. And they caught him (for he was hidden in Samaria), and brought him to Jehu. And when they had killed him, they buried him because they said, He [is] the son of Jehoshaphat who looked to the LORD with all his heart. And the house of Ahaziah had no power still to keep the kingdom. BBE: And he went in search of Ahaziah; and when they came where he was, (for he was in a secret place in Samaria,) they took him to Jehu and put him to death; then they put his body to rest in the earth, for they said, He is the son of Jehoshaphat, whose heart was true to the Lord. So the family of Ahaziah had no power to keep the kingdom. KAV: (아하시야가 사마리아에 숨었으므로) 예후가 그를 찾으매 그들이 그를 붙잡아 예후에게로 데려가 죽이고 묻었으니 이는 그들이 말하기를, 그는 마음을 다해 {주}를 구하던 여호사밧의 아들이라, 하였기 때문이더라. 이처럼 아하시야의 집이 왕국을 그대로 지킬 힘도 없게 되니라.
9 And he went in search of Ahaziah; and when they came where he was, (for he was in a secret place in Samaria,) they took him to Jehu and put him to death; then they put his body to rest in the earth, for they said, He is the son of Jehoshaphat, whose heart was true to the Lord. So the family of Ahaziah had no power to keep the kingdom.
9 아하시야는 사마리아에 숨었더니 예후가 찾으매 무리가 예후에게로 잡아다가 죽이고 이르기를 저는 전심으로 여호와를 구하던 여호사밧의 아들이라 하고 장사하였더라 이에 아하시야의 집이 약하여 왕위를 지키지 못하게 되니라
10 But when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziahsaw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the seedroyal of the house of Judah.[x]MKJV: And Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, and she arose and spoke to [destroy] all the royal seed of the house of Judah. BBE: Now when Athaliah, the mother of Ahaziah, saw that her son was dead, she had all the rest of the seed of the kingdom of Judah put to death. KAV: ¶ 그러나 아하시야의 어머니 아달랴가 자기 아들이 죽은 것을 보고 일어나 유다의 집에서 왕가의 모든 씨를 멸하였으나
10 Now when Athaliah, the mother of Ahaziah, saw that her son was dead, she had all the rest of the seed of the kingdom of Judah put to death.

11 But Jehoshabeath, the daughter of the king, tookJoash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him from among the king'ssons that were slain, and put him and his nurse in a bedchamberㆍ. So Jehoshabeath, the daughter of kingJehoram, the wife of Jehoiada the priest, (for she was the sister of Ahaziah,) hid him fromAthaliah, so that she slew him not.[x]MKJV: But Jehoshabeath the daughter of the king took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him from among the king's sons who were killed. And she put him and his nurse in a bedroom. And Jehoshabeath, the daughter of king Jehoram, the wife of Jehoiada the priest (for she was the sister of Ahaziah) hid him from Athaliah so that she did not kill him. BBE: But Jehoshabeath, the daughter of the king, secretly took Joash, the son of Ahaziah, away from among the king's sons who were put to death, and put him and the woman who took care of him in a bedroom. So Jehoshabeath, the daughter of King Jehoram, the wife of Jehoiada the priest and sister of Ahaziah, kept him safe from Athaliah, so that she did not put him to death. KAV: 왕의 딸 여호사브앗이 아하시야의 아들 요아스를 취하여 죽임 당한 왕의 아들들 가운데서 그를 훔쳐내고 그와 그의 유모를 침실에 두었더라. 이처럼 여호람 왕의 딸이요, 제사장 여호야다의 아내인 여호사브앗이 (그녀는 아하시야의 누이였더라.) 아달랴로부터 그를 숨겼으므로 그녀가 그를 죽이지 못하였더라.
11 But Jehoshabeath, the daughter of the king, secretly took Joash, the son of Ahaziah, away from among the king's sons who were put to death, and put him and the woman who took care of him in a bedroom. So Jehoshabeath, the daughter of King Jehoram, the wife of Jehoiada the priest and sister of Ahaziah, kept him safe from Athaliah, so that she did not put him to death.
11 왕의 딸 여호사브앗이 아하시야의 아들 요아스를 왕자들의 죽임을 당하는 중에서 도적하여 내고 저와 그 유모를 침실에 숨겨 아달랴를 피하게 한고로 아달랴가 저를 죽이지 못하였더라 여호사브앗은 여호람왕의 딸이요 아하시야의 누이요 제사장 여호야다의 아내더라
12 And he was with them hid in the house of Godsixyears: and Athaliahreigned over the land.[x]MKJV: And he was with them six years, hidden in the house of God. And Athaliah reigned over the land. BBE: And she kept him safe with her in the house of God for six years, while Athaliah was ruling the land. KAV: 요아스가 그들과 함께 [하나님]의 집에 육 년 동안 숨어 있었고 아달랴가 그 땅을 통치하였더라.
