1 And it came to pass, when Rehoboam had established the kingdom, and had strengthened himself, he forsook the law of the LORD, and all Israel with him.[x]MKJV: And it happened when Rehoboam had established the kingdom, and had made himself strong, he departed from the law of the LORD, and all Israel with him. BBE: Now when Rehoboam's position as king had been made certain, and he was strong, he gave up the law of the Lord, and all Israel with him. KAV: 르호보암이 왕국을 굳건히 세우고 자기 세력을 강화한 뒤에 {주}의 율법을 버렸고 온 이스라엘도 그와 함께하였더라.
1 Now when Rehoboam's position as king had been made certain, and he was strong, he gave up the law of the Lord, and all Israel with him.
1 르호보암이 나라가 견고하고 세력이 강하매 여호와의 율법을 버리니 온 이스라엘이 본받은지라
2 And it came to pass, that in the fifthyear of kingRehoboamShishakking of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had transgressed against the LORD,[x]MKJV: And it happened in the fifth year of king Rehoboam, Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had sinned against the LORD BBE: Now in the fifth year of King Rehoboam, Shishak, king of Egypt, came up against Jerusalem, because of their sin against the Lord, KAV: 그들이 {주}께 죄를 지었으므로 르호보암 왕의 제오년에 이집트 왕 시삭이 예루살렘을 치러 올라왔는데
2 Now in the fifth year of King Rehoboam, Shishak, king of Egypt, came up against Jerusalem, because of their sin against the Lord,
3 With twelve hundredㆍchariots, and threescorethousandhorsemen: and the peoplewere without number that came with him out of Egypt; the Lubims, the Sukkiims, and the Ethiopians.[x]MKJV: with twelve hundred chariots and sixty thousand horsemen. And the people who came with him out of Egypt [were] without number: Lubim, the Sukkiim, and the Ethiopians. BBE: With twelve hundred war-carriages and sixty thousand horsemen: and the people who came with him out of Egypt were more than might be numbered: Lubim and Sukkiim and Ethiopians. KAV: 그에게 병거 천이백 대와 기병 육만 명이 있었으며 또 그와 함께 이집트에서 나온 백성들 곧 룹 사람과 숙 사람과 이디오피아 사람이 수도 없이 많았더라.
3 With twelve hundred war-carriages and sixty thousand horsemen: and the people who came with him out of Egypt were more than might be numbered: Lubim and Sukkiim and Ethiopians.
3 저에게 병거가 일천 이백승이요 마병이 육만이며 애굽에서 좇아나온 무리 곧 후ㅂ과 숩과 구스 사람이 불가승수라
4 And he took the fencedcities which pertained to Judah, and came to Jerusalem.[x]MKJV: And he took the fortified cities in Judah, and came to Jerusalem. BBE: And he took the walled towns of Judah, and came as far as Jerusalem. KAV: 시삭이 유다의 성벽을 두른 도시들을 취하고 예루살렘에 이르니라.

5 Then cameShemaiah the prophet to Rehoboam, and to the princes of Judah, that were gathered together to Jerusalembecause of Shishak, and said unto them, Thus saith the LORD, Ye have forsaken me, and therefore have I alsoleft you in the hand of Shishak.[x]MKJV: And Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam, and [to] the rulers of Judah who were gathered to Jerusalem because of Shishak. And [he] said to them, So says the LORD, You have forsaken Me, and therefore I also have left you in the hand of Shishak. BBE: Now Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam and the chiefs of Judah, who had come together in Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said to them, The Lord has said, Because you have given me up, I have given you up into the hands of Shishak. KAV: ¶ 그때에 대언자 스마야가 시삭으로 인해 예루살렘에 함께 모인 르호보암과 유다의 통치자들에게 나아와 그들에게 이르되, {주}가 이같이 말하노라. 너희가 나를 버렸으므로 나도 너희를 시삭의 손에 넘겨주었노라, 하니라.
5 Now Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam and the chiefs of Judah, who had come together in Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said to them, The Lord has said, Because you have given me up, I have given you up into the hands of Shishak.
5 때에 유다 방백들이 시삭을 인하여 예루살렘에 모였는지라 선지자 스마야가 르호보암과 방백들에게 나아와 가로되 여호와의 말씀이 너희가 나를 버렸으므로 나도 너희를 버려 시삭의 손에 붙였노라 하셨다 한지라
6 Whereupon the princes of Israel and the kinghumbled themselves; and they said, The LORDisrighteous.[x]MKJV: And the rulers of Israel and the king humbled themselves. And they said, The LORD [is] righteous. BBE: Then the chiefs of Israel and the king made themselves low and said, The Lord is upright. KAV: 이에 이스라엘의 통치자들과 왕이 스스로 겸손히 행하며 이르되, {주}는 의로우시나이다, 하매
6 Then the chiefs of Israel and the king made themselves low and said, The Lord is upright.
6 이에 이스라엘 방백들과 왕이 스스로 겸비하여 가로되 여호와는 의로우시다 하매
7 And when the LORDsaw that they humbled themselves, the word of the LORD came to Shemaiah, saying, They have humbled themselves; therefore I will not destroy them, but I will grant them somedeliverance; and my wrath shall not be poured out upon Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.[x]MKJV: And when the LORD saw that they humbled themselves, the word of the LORD came to Shemaiah, saying, They have humbled themselves. I will not destroy them, but I will give them some deliverance. And My wrath shall not be poured out on Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak. BBE: And the Lord, seeing that they had made themselves low, said to Shemaiah, They have made themselves low: I will not send destruction on them, but in a short time I will give them salvation, and will not let loose my wrath on Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak. KAV: {주}께서 그들이 스스로 겸손히 행하는 것을 보셨으므로 {주}의 말씀이 스마야에게 임하니라. 이르시되, 그들이 스스로 겸손히 행하였으므로 내가 그들을 멸하지 아니하고 어느 정도 구출하여 내 진노를 시삭의 손으로 예루살렘에 쏟아 붓지 아니하리라.
7 And the Lord, seeing that they had made themselves low, said to Shemaiah, They have made themselves low: I will not send destruction on them, but in a short time I will give them salvation, and will not let loose my wrath on Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.
7 여호와께서 저희의 스스로 겸비함을 보신지라 여호와의 말씀이 스마야에게 임하여 가라사대 저희가 스스로 겸비하였으니 내가 멸하지 아니하고 대강 구원하여 나의 노를 시삭의 손으로 예루살렘에 쏟지 아니하리라
8 Nevertheless they shall be his servants; that they may know my service, and the service of the kingdoms of the countries.[x]MKJV: But they shall be his servants, so that they may know My service, and the service of the kings of the countries. BBE: But still they will become his servants, so that they may see how different my yoke is from the yoke of the kingdoms of the lands. KAV: 그럼에도 불구하고 그들이 시삭의 종이 되어 나를 섬기는 것과 여러 나라의 왕국들을 섬기는 것을 알게 되리라, 하셨더라.

9 So Shishakking of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, and took away the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king'shouse; he took all: he carried away also the shields of gold which Solomon had made.[x]MKJV: And Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem and took away the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king's house. KAV: 이에 이집트 왕 시삭이 예루살렘을 치러 올라와 {주}의 집의 보물과 왕의 집의 보물을 빼앗고 또 전에 솔로몬이 만든 금 방패들도 가져갔으므로
9 So Shishak, king of Egypt, came up against Jerusalem and took away all the stored wealth of the house of the Lord and the king's house: he took everything away, and with the rest the gold body-covers which Solomon had made.
9 애굽 왕 시삭이 올라와서 예루살렘을 치고 여호와의 전 보물과 왕궁의 보물을 몰수히 빼앗고 솔로몬의 만든 금방패도 빼앗은지라
10 Instead of which kingRehoboammadeshields of brass, and committedthem to the hands of the chief of the guard, that kept the entrance of the king'shouse.[x]MKJV: In place of these King Rehoboam made shields of bronze, and gave [them] into the hands of the chief of the guard who kept the entrance of the king's house. BBE: And in their place King Rehoboam had other body-covers made of brass and gave them into the care of the captains of the armed men who were stationed at the door of the king's house. KAV: 르호보암 왕이 그것들 대신 놋 방패들을 만들어 왕의 집 입구를 지키는 호위대 우두머리의 손에 맡기매

11 And when the kingentered into the house of the LORD, the guardcame and fetched them, and brought them again into the guardchamber.[x]MKJV: And when the king entered into the house of the LORD, the guard came and carried them and brought them again into the guardroom. BBE: And whenever the king went into the house of the Lord, the armed men went with him taking the body-covers, and then took them back to their room. KAV: 왕이 {주}의 집에 들어갈 때에 호위병들이 와서 그 방패들을 들고 갔다가 다시 호위대 방으로 가져갔더라.

12 And when he humbled himself, the wrath of the LORDturned from him, that he would not destroyhimaltogether: and also in Judahthings went well.[x]MKJV: And when he humbled himself, the wrath of the LORD turned from him so that He would not destroy [him] altogether. And also things went well in Judah. BBE: And when he made himself low, the wrath of the Lord was turned back from him, and complete destruction did not come on him, for there was still some good in Judah. KAV: 르호보암이 스스로 겸손히 행하매 {주}께서 그에게서 진노를 돌이키사 그를 다 멸하지 아니하셨으며 또 유다에서도 일들이 좋아지니라.
12 And when he made himself low, the wrath of the Lord was turned back from him, and complete destruction did not come on him, for there was still some good in Judah.

KAV: ¶ 이처럼 르호보암 왕이 예루살렘에서 자기 세력을 강화하고 통치하였는데 르호보암이 통치하기 시작할 때에 나이가 사십일 세더라. 그가 예루살렘 곧 {주}께서 자신의 이름을 두시려고 이스라엘의 모든 지파 중에서 택한 도시에서 십칠 년 동안 통치하였더라. 르호보암의 어머니의 이름은 암몬 여인 나아마더라.
13 So King Rehoboam made himself strong in Jerusalem and was ruling there. Rehoboam was forty-one years old when he became king, and he was ruling for seventeen years in Jerusalem, the town which the Lord had made his out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there; and his mother's name was Naamah, an Ammonite woman.
13 르호보암왕이 예루살렘에서 스스로 강하게 하여 치리하니라 르호보암이 위에 나아갈 때에 나이 사십 일세라 예루살렘 곧 여호와께서 이스라엘 모든 지파 중에서 택하여 그 이름을 두신 성에서 십 칠년을 치리하니라 르호보암의 모친의 이름은 나아마라 암몬 여인이더라
14 And he didevil, because he prepared not his heart to seek the LORD.[x]MKJV: And he did the evil because he did not prepare his heart to seek the LORD. BBE: And he did evil because his heart was not true to the Lord. KAV: 르호보암이 악을 행하였으니 이는 그가 {주}를 구하기 위해 자기 마음을 예비하지 아니하였기 때문이더라.
14 And he did evil because his heart was not true to the Lord.

15 Now the acts of Rehoboam, first and last, are they not written in the book of Shemaiah the prophet, and of Iddo the seer concerning genealogies? And there werewars between Rehoboam and Jeroboamcontinually.[x]MKJV: And the acts of Rehoboam, first and last, [are] they not written in the book of Shemaiah the prophet, and Iddo the seer concerning genealogies? And the wars of Rehoboam and Jeroboam [lasted] all their days. BBE: Now the acts of Rehoboam, first and last, are they not recorded in the words of Shemaiah the prophet and Iddo the seer? And there were wars between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all their days. KAV: 이제 르호보암의 행적은 처음부터 끝까지 대언자 스마야의 책과 선견자 잇도가 만든 계보에 관한 책에 기록되어 있지 아니하냐? 르호보암과 여로보암 사이에 계속해서 전쟁이 있었더라.
15 Now the acts of Rehoboam, first and last, are they not recorded in the words of Shemaiah the prophet and Iddo the seer? And there were wars between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all their days.
15 르호보암의 시종 행적은 선지자 스마야와 선견자 잇도의 족보책에 기록되지 아니하였느냐 르호보암과 여로보암 사이에 항상 전쟁이 있으니라
16 And Rehoboamslept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David: and Abijah his sonreigned in his stead.[x]MKJV: And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David. And his son Abijah reigned in his place. BBE: And Rehoboam went to rest with his fathers, and was put into the earth in the town of David; and Abijah his son became king in his place. KAV: 르호보암이 자기 조상들과 함께 잠들어 다윗의 도시에 묻히니 그의 아들 아비야가 그를 대신하여 통치하니라.
